The title definitely has good intentions but it inevitably falls short. Clichés and bogged down mechanics appear early in the game. Some mind-blowing scenes freshen up the experience but the riddles are either dull or poorly designed.

Sony's attempt to compete against similar offerings in the market. Driveclub is so visually driven that it looks like they forgot about all the other features people love about driving games.

This version of the game enhances the technical threshold Minecraft has on consoles by putting gamers first while being faithful to the original formula without unnecessary or worthless additions. Having said that, this Minecraft has fewer elements than the PC and mobile versions.

Despite its shortcomings, including its simplicity and lack of variety, Alien: Isolation is what the franchise needed: a simple and well-executed experience that conveys the horror of deep space while respecting the vision of its source.

A good game in its own right, Shadow of Mordor doesn’t need nor improves upon Tolkien's fiction. Sadly, though, exploitable combat mechanics, repetitive missions and an unsatisfactory navigation system hinder its chances of becoming one of the best games of the year.

Despite some balancing issues, the lack of an engaging main story and the absence of a training option, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution consolidates as a worthy addition to the series, due to the abundance of available characters and references, its seductive visuals, well rounded animations, and above all else, the subtle and positive changes to the fighting mechanics.

Despite a general lack of freshness when it comes to the structure of the game, Forza Horizon 2's outstanding visuals, off-road mechanics, solid controls and gameplay depth, make it an excellent racing experience and a must-have game on Xbox One.

A fantastic portable version of the ultimate Nintendo brawler, Super Smash Bros. 3DS gives the player the complete experience of the beloved franchise, despite control shortcomings related more to platform limitations than to game design flaws.

The original release of Metro: Last Light was already a solid experience. Redux doesn't make significant changes to it, but it is still a very stunning post-apocalyptic experience.

FIFA 15 takes two steps forward and one step back in almost every component of the game. The presentation is as sleek as ever, but it still lacks some realism in terms of gesture and animation. Tactical accessibility, on the other hand, came at the expense of thoroughness, and mobility feels more realistic but also heavier. Despite all of this, FIFA 15 remains the deepest, most addictive and fun football experience out there.

Hyrule Warriors is a great tribute to The Legend of Zelda thanks to the large number of characters and references included. Unfortunately, as a game it suffers from basic design flaws such as awkward artificial intelligence, poor level design and repetitive missions.

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call consolidates as a quality product due to its extensive list of songs and characters ―over 220 and 60 respectively―. It also has perfect functionality in terms of game modes, solid controls and it provides a delightful sense of gratification. It is, without a doubt, a musical love letter destined to be among the best music titles of 2014.

Tales of Xillia 2 combines the best of eastern and western cultures and consolidates itself as an RPG that appeals to hardcore fans of the series, thanks to its compelling story, attractive combat system, the decision-making mechanics and its anime-like aesthetics.

Bungie's new IP is a noble effort to escape from the ghosts of the past, an opportunity to succeed and leave its old franchises behind. Destiny offers a solid combat experience, challenging boss fights and a never ending progression system; however the world is not engaging and the story and lore bits are forgettable or absent, which is a shame given the magnitude of the project.

Dead Rising 3 is still the same fun, over the top, zombie slashing, open world game we learned to love on Xbox One. Unfortunately, unless you have a high end PC gaming rig, you will have frame rate and gameplay issues. But if you do have one, you will have a blast killing everything in sight.

Risen 3: Titan Lords disappoints on even the most basic elements, which perhaps with a little more time could've been fixed. It's a shame, because we can tell that deep inside lays a game that tries to offer hundreds of hours of fun. Sadly, though, the only surprising thing about this is that it found its way to the shelves.

Despite the fact that it keeps the same core pillars from the astonishing first entry, which are raw situations and tough choices, Season Two of The Walking Dead falls a bit short in the writing department. The experience remains unique and emotional, just not as much as the first one.

Crimsonland is fun at the beginning, but it won't stand out from other top-down shooters in the genre. The campaign turns very repetitive and despite its conspicuous love for classic dual-stick gameplay, the formula feels a bit dated in this day and age, especially when compared with the likes of Dead Nation.

Extremely faithful to the original, Shadowgate brings back everything that made the 1987 release a cult classic, but it doesn't add anything to the formula. In other words, it lacks the innovation value to remain relevant by today's standards.

Madden NFL 15 won't break the mold in terms of gameplay innovation, but its new looks coupled with a much-needed improvement on the defensive side of the ball and the Gauntlet mode, add some freshness to the formula and, most importantly, make this the first truly next-gen iteration of the series.

The concept behind Metrico is both innovative and unique in the platformer genre. Most of its puzzles are clever and quite satisfying to complete. However, others become physically uncomfortable due to the game mechanics related to the unique characteristics of the PlayStation Vita.
