It’s hard to synthesize the scale of Dragon Age: Inquisition. It demonstrates perfectly the fact that there is room for games that satisfy the thirst for challenge in this industry. So get ready, we are about to enter an era where the RPG genre can rule again.

How can we make something that's already pretty perfect even better? Thankfully, we don't have to look very far, because Separate Ways is the perfect ending to Resident Evil 4 Remake. The cool thing about Separate Ways is that it doesn't waste its time on drawn-out scenes that get old, or on gameplay mechanics that become boring in the long run. Instead, it focuses on giving you a different style and pace of play that's not totally different from Leon S. Kennedy's, so you really feel like you're playing as Ada Wong.

Toys For Bob did a great job of taking the essence of Crash and adapting it to modern times. The result is a platformer who proudly carries the legacy of a legendary trilogy, but does enough to feel new and not be a simple homage to the past.

Visceral and bloody, DOOM brings the classic FPS feel back to the modern era of gaming. Players will learn to strafe, jump, and shoot demons in the face like it was 1993. While the multiplayer component cripples the experience, DOOM represents id Software's righteous comeback to its former glory.

With each new entry, Telltale Games seems to learn even more about how to keep you waiting impatiently for their next game. Tales from the Borderlands is one of its finest titles so far, combining great characters with a good narrative and unforgettable moments.

The three Uncharted titles are still as fun as ever, but now they are more enjoyable at 1080p and 60fps. Bluepoint Games also added a few new game modes and graphical enhancements. All in all, this is a great package, but we find the lack of multiplayer somewhat disappointing.

Vengeful Guardian: Moonrider is a fantastic platformer that combines the best elements from the SNES and Genesis era with some fresh and fun ideas. It is difficult, as some of its inspirations, but beginners can still enjoy it and have a great time.

Final Fantasy XIV second expansion pack, Stormblood, is a storytelling achievement, but nothing more. The game it's a showcase of the archaic scheme that governs every MMO in existence. Nevertheless, it’s a rich and vibrant world which proudly carries the name of Final Fantasy.

A fantastic portable version of the ultimate Nintendo brawler, Super Smash Bros. 3DS gives the player the complete experience of the beloved franchise, despite control shortcomings related more to platform limitations than to game design flaws.

Despite a general lack of freshness when it comes to the structure of the game, Forza Horizon 2's outstanding visuals, off-road mechanics, solid controls and gameplay depth, make it an excellent racing experience and a must-have game on Xbox One.

Sifu is a great beat em‘ up game that discourages mashing buttons. The combat system stands out as a mix between the Batman: Arkham series and Sekiro, with a heavy emphasis on precision. It is a demanding game that penalizes mistakes and rewards skill.

The return of Final Fantasy VIII is a cause for celebration. The work of DotEmu is worthy of admiration because they have delivered what can easily be the best of the remastering of the Final Fantasy games of that time.

Weird and exceptional, Majora's Mask is one of the strangest Zelda games ever. Its level design is certainly not on par with other iterations of the series, however the unique atmosphere and fantastic setting turn it into one of our favorites. The 3DS version makes interesting changes that soften the edges of the game. In the end, this release proves how modern and relevant Majora's Mask remained all these years.

It's surprising to be here, in the middle of 2025, talking about yet another Silent Hill game. Today, the franchise is back with two well-defined paths: one that follows the conservative and traditional (Bloober Team) and another that takes risks and experiments. Silent Hill f is part of the latter, and the result, in the end, is satisfying. Neobards' installment dared to push the boundaries but maintained respect for the pillars of the franchise. Although the new and risky aspects show some inconsistency, they don't undermine the concept that gave rise to it and are consistent with what it proposes. I repeat, it works for the game itself, but perhaps not for Silent Hill , at least not entirely. The journey to 1960s Japan has a soul of its own and lets the Western city rest. The prospect of repression and abuse against a woman shape a heartbreaking and terrifying story.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World is the definitive version of Kirby’s 3D adventure. It combines all the charm of the original game with graphical and performance improvements, new Mouthful Modes and collectibles, plus a new story and interesting characters. The game is still fun, but the new content is short and leaves the impression it could have been used better.

Remaking games is not easy, but once again, Activision and Vicarious Visions deliver a great experience. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 fell as good as its original versions, but at the same time, they adopt some things that the franchise learned along the way. Is nice to see that such a beloved series came back in such a good way.

Death’s Door is a game that delivers on all counts: responsive control, interesting mechanics, satisfying story, replayability, and well-designed difficulty. Hard to think of not recommending it to anyone who plays video games. Death’s Door once again shows us that an indie title can be a great game and compete for the best of the year without spending millions of dollars. Direct to the best of the year.

Dying Light: The Beast is a triumphant return to Techland's winning formula. An excellent zombie survival game packed with fast-paced action and visceral moments of combat and survival. The return of Kyle Crane is a tremendous success and a love letter to fans of the original game. However, its lack of innovation prevents it from reaching the heights of a true revolution for the series.

Without a doubt, Kingdom Hearts is a satisfactory chapter in one of the most beloved JRPG franchises. It has some problems that could have been ironed out, but it's still a great and magical experience that can be enjoyed by fans and newcomers alike. Ultimately, it was worth the long wait.

Bravely Default represents a solid revival of Square's old-school JRPGs with an extremely competent execution and rich, elaborate combat mechanics. However, it suffers from narrative stiffness, bad dialogue, unsympathetic characters and an altogether tiredness in it's cliché-ridden story.

Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance arrives to become the definitive edition of Shin Megami Tensei V. Some of its changes may not be enough to fix the major problems of the original, but it does an incredible job of elevating it and bringing it that much closer to reaching its potential. ATLUS did it again and delivered a re-release that's worth checking out regardless of whether you finished the original game or if it's your first time playing it. Mind you: if you're an old-time Shin Megami Tensei fan, don't expect Vengance to be some sort of director's cut or a chance for the development team to deliver their original vision of the game. There's little in this new version that points in that direction, and it feels more like a 2.0 version made after hearing what critics and fans said about Shin Megami Tensei V. In other words, it's a product that improves in almost every aspect, but also doesn't redefine or revolutionize what we played in 2021.

An exceptional exercise on design purity, VIDEOBALL is a virtual sport that takes inspiration from the origin of videogames themselves to expand the possibilities laid by classics such as Spacewar!, Pong, Asteroids and more; however, despite its undeniable pedigree and elegance, and its generous content, it somehow lacks some excitement and addictiveness. Remarkable, but still a little short of videogame perfection.

State of Decay is a fun game that puts you right in the middle of a zombie outbreak and forces you to stop and plan your survival strategy. If you've ever asked yourself what would you do in a zombie apocalypse scenario, this game will offer you a different perspective. And yes, you'll find a few annoying bugs and glitches, but you'll also find a compelling and powerful gaming experience.
