Dragon Quest I & II: HD-2D Remake is even better than the remake of Dragon Quest III thanks to the addition of new quality of life improvements, a more balanced difficulty and the fact that it is two games in one. And, by the way, these are two of the most important JRPG ever, now more accessible than ever.- LevelUp

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade looks great with better textures and lighting. Also, having the option to play it at 60 fps is a god send and makes it the definitive edition of a modern classic. INTERmission is a nice extra that fans of the JRPG can’t afford to miss.- LevelUp

Super Mario Maker 2 is a must have game for every Nintendo Switch owner. We are talking about a project that offers what seems like endless possibilities. All the additions are welcome and very fun to use and experiment with. It also tries it best to teach the player to design good levels and to think about the game in a creative way.- LevelUp

Although it has flaws, Hi-Fi RUSH is an excellent video game thanks to its exquisite combat system and memorable characters. The port for PlayStation 5 is very simple, but we're glad to know that more people will be able to play one of the best games of 2023. Without a doubt, Hi-FI RUSH it's one of the gems of the current console generation.- LevelUp

To make a name for itself in a well-established genre is no easy task. Tropical Freeze manages to do that by achieving rock solid level design and being thorough in almost every aspect. It's a shame that its co-op is not as polished as the rest of the game.- LevelUp

EA Motive showed that they can do the kind of work we are used to from studios like Bluepoint. We are talking about a phenomenal remake that retouches the necessary parts to make a classic game come back taking advantage of the good things that have been improved over the years.- LevelUp

Not all sports franchises are created equal, and some are top-tier. In terms of both improvements and content, MLB: The Show 25 is the most complete installment the franchise has released to date and is already positioned as one of the best sports titles of the year. The Fall Classic is still a long way off, but it's certainly nice to be heading to the iconic World Series with a video game that delivers and exceeds expectations.- LevelUp

A triumphant yet imperfect return, World of Warcraft: Midnight delivers one of the MMO’s strongest modern expansions. Blizzard shines in world design, progression systems, and especially its rich side stories, which often outclass the main narrative. However, the central story stumbles with uneven pacing, underused legacy characters, and a lack of real stakes, leaving its ambitious themes underdeveloped. Even so, Midnight succeeds where it matters most: it feels fresh, accessible, and genuinely fun, marking a confident step forward for a 20-year-old MMO.- LevelUp

Crimson Desert is one of the most ambitious games in a long time. It’s an expansive, and deeply detailed fantasy world that constantly invites exploration and rewards curiosity. Its fluid, skill-based combat and sheer scale are genuinely impressive, but that same ambition often works against it. A lack of focus, overly complex systems, and a slow, demanding progression can make the experience feel overwhelming and, at times, exhausting. It’s a game of extremes: deeply immersive and rewarding for those willing to invest the time, but far from accessible for everyone.- LevelUp

Another high quality entry from CD Projekt RED, Hearts of Stone keeps the tone and essence of The Witcher but gives a very interesting twist to the "stoic monster hunter finds that humans are the true monsters" framework of the saga. Unicorn Overlord is a must-have that fans of strategy games can't pass up. It's a game packed with complex systems that interact to keep you thinking about the best ways to maximize each unit in your squads. Perhaps this makes it a game that may be unsuitable for first time players, but its different difficulty levels do a good job of keeping newcomers from getting overwhelmed by so many systems and allowing veterans to dive right into the strategy.- LevelUp

Sea of Stars might not quite reach the legendary status of classics like Chrono Trigger or Final Fantasy VI, but it's undeniably a stunning game that every genre lover should dive into. It's an adventure that's pure joy because it gets what makes JRPGs so darn captivating for decades. What really matters about Sea of Stars is that it's nailed that magical vibe from a bygone era that might never come back. Let Sea of Stars cast its spell on you, and let those waves of nostalgia wash right over you. You won't regret it.- LevelUp
