Grand Theft Auto V is not just the best sandbox game there is. It's not just one of the best 3rd-person shooters ever. It's not just a great action game, a great driving game, and a great piloting or sports game. It's not just the biggest audiovisual spectacle in the last few years. Grand Theft Auto V is the best game in the current console generation, period.- LaPS4

Grand Theft Auto V jumps into the next gen to also become the best current game. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is the first great gift by Naughty Dog to the PS4 users. But it's also for you, Uncharted fan, who now reads these lines after years following the exciting adventures of the "descendant" of Sir Francis Drake. This generation really begins with Uncharted 4, because this game is what everyone was expecting. It's technically excellent, it's what's really required for this console. The grand finale for one of the best PlayStation franchises.- LaPS4

Final Fantasy XV is going to be the most remembered game of 2016. It is really different from anything we've seen in the series so far, but really traditional at the same time. It has an obsessive respect for the fan that goes along with state-of-the-art audio-visual aspects able to bring life to a humongous map with so many things to do, so many secrets to discover and yes, some lineal, but logic parts. Controversial issues, like combat or summon mechanics are really solid once you get to the endgame, where the experience has already blossomed. Embrace its changes, the JRPG King is back.- LaPS4

Resident Evil Requiem is the perfect combination of its two current gameplay styles, condensed into a game where each playable style will have its own value and will alternate. A game for fans who enjoy both, and for Leon fans to get their dose of fan service. Visually stunning, terrifying in sound, it's the peak of recent years of remakes and new releases in the series.- LaPS4

Old Hunters expands Bloodborne's universe with new areas, weapons and enemies. Although it has an average duration, this trip to the past is more than appetizing for those enthralled by the Moon.- LaPS4

Horizon Zero Dawn is a nice surprise because rarely is a game such as this is able to surpass expectations. It isn't just a game with a great plot; it isn't just a technical marvel; it isn't just a game with great, addictive gameplay mechanics. It is all of these things and much more. It is, above all, an Aloy that shines on its own, able to rise as the new PlayStation female hero.- LaPS4

If there is a must when it comes to remasters, it's BioShock: The Collection. Blind Squirrel made a superb work adapting for 1080p and 60fp an already superior franchise. If you haven't played any BioShock yet, this is the best moment and, if you are into Ken Levine's work, BioShock: The Collection has to be on your shelf.- LaPS4

OlliOlli 2: Welcome to Olliwood is yet another state of the art game for PS Vita. Even though it's also available for PS4, Sony's handheld is still the best platform for this kind of game, that has evolved with style, with the mechanics that made it a great success and adding new ones. Better visuals and a soundtrack that will make some music-loving players buy it.- LaPS4

This may be the biggest production in the entire history of portable console games. Impressive technical aspects and a very polished AI, as well as lots of playability and a long playtime, both in single player mode and multiplayer mode.- LaPS4

The Last Guardian lands (at last) and the years of development are more than noticeable in the final product. Fumito Ueda shows once again that games can make you feel something else and that we are, perhaps, kind of used to trivial, hollow experiences. The worst part is the camera, your main enemy during this game where Trico will be the main conduit for the feelings. A creature that you will love from the very beginning, that you will hate to split from and that will comfort you as well as make your heart shatter in pieces.- LaPS4

Black Flag is quite possibly the closest to a real sandbox we have seen in this saga by Ubisoft. Even though its main innovations revolve around the sea navigation and naval combat, this new installment still possesses enough good qualities as to give this saga our vote one more year.- LaPS4

Playdead has made a game equally interesting both in its gameplay as in its plot. Everything feels so natural and the combination of puzzles, platforms and sidescrolling enhances the formula already used in Limbo. Inside will be in your mind well after you've finished it, and its ending's many interpretations make an overall superb experience and a remarkable game.- LaPS4

If every DLC were like Hearts of Stone when it comes to offering enough content at the right price, complaints about them would probably stop. The perfect excuse for a return to the Northern Realms. Gywnbleidd is still on the Path and you will not regret coming along.- LaPS4

It's too soon yet to know if Final Fantasy XV will be a successful entry in the main series. But if you want to place a sure bet, World of Final Fantasy is your winning horse. Enjoyable, entertaining, classic turn-based combat system, a bunch of options when it comes to assemble your team with characters and creatures from all over the franchise... perhaps we expected a little bit more complexity from the fights, but this game holds its name very proudly.- LaPS4

Ubisoft Massive has in Tom Clancy's The Division the best game the French company has made so far for this generation, and demonstrates that consoles are also a great place for MMOs. The downgrade is soon forgotten once you stop and delight yourself with such an imposing, beautiful and at the same time, chaotic New York. When all of the gameplay mechanics roll out, you are already trapped and you won't stop until you've completed every single challenge.- LaPS4

There's no doubt that Insomniac Games has brought us one of the best games in the PlayStation 4 catalog, bringing back to the videogame scene one of the most famous superheroes of all time in the epic and glorious way it deserves. Although, the game has some flaws in certain aspects, this only leaves us wanting to see how they manage to overcome this result in a possible sequel, which will surely improve the experience of this great game, in which Spidey showed off like never before.- LaPS4

NieR: Automata is another serious contender for the GOTY in a year that has just begun. Platinum Games' special touch is there, but they have kept the respect needed for Yoko Taro's unique way of storytelling. An adult plot, with complex themes and a superb soundtrack, way above the average, mark the birth of an instant classic. We just hope that the franchise, somehow, keeps on going.- LaPS4

Far Harbor puts an end to Fallout 4, at least until the arrival of mods to console versions next month. A wide map to explore, a nice array of new gear and missions, the fog is calling for us and we will come to see what is hiding inside.- LaPS4
