Doom is a '90s game made in 2016. It's campaign is, plain and simple, lots of fun, as long as you can keep up with its innumerable battle arenas and its gameplay mechanics, based on movement, pure speed and rhythm. Its multiplayer options lack work and don't depend as much on player skills, although the SnapMap mode leverages it, thanks to its almost infinite edition and creation options. This amounts to an all-around game, especially made for players that grew up with FPS games a long time ago.

Commando mode is an interesting addition, that allows you to play a infantry, with the chance to play co-op with another players. Apart from that, it lacks content. Perhaps the update that has added achievements and challenges will make you think about the purchase of this expansion.

Konami takes no risk at all with PES 2017 and just enhances what we saw in the last entry of the franchise in order to make just a better game. It's really enjoyable, similar to what we saw in PES 5 and PES 6. However, there aren't enough innovation when it comes to game modes, and the scarce licenses aren't enough to make Pro Evolution Soccer 2017 the ultimate soccer game of the year.

FIFA 17 takes a step forward and finally offers a Story Mode that becomes a must for the franchise from now on. The enhancements in the offensive AI translates into a better spectacle than last year, and Frostbite's influence on physics and collision gives us unexpected and new situations in each fight for the ball. Ultimate Team is improved once again, and its only burden is the lack of improvements in other modes, although this game reinvents the franchise once again.

Codemasters has managed to offer a game for both newcomers and expert drivers as well, which is a must for DiRT 4 to be really enjoyable. The learning curve is easy to handle, the game offers enough content in several styles and even though the most exigent will always want more realism, it's completely on par with the expectations.

Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is an authentic audiovisual masterpiece. The 40 hours that lasts its story mode are virtually duplicated with the huge number of extras. Although its weak point is how extremely easy the game is, it is balanced with a story that highlights the importance of union and that delights us with moments as hilarious as epic.

Valkyria Chronicles Remastered brings us one of the most underappreciated games when it came out to Playstation 3 in 2008. It's way to tell a story stand out of the usual, focusing on the customization options both in and outside of the battlefield. A nice price tag, all the DLCs, 1080p visuals and 60fps invite us to play it at least once.

The best Formula 1 game ever made by Codemasters. It brings you a truly experience, very close to the reality, It doesn't affect thought to the feeling that you are actually playing a videogame, It's a funny experience. It's great to see the improvements in the career mode and the things they are putting on to improve the on-line multiplayer mode. There are details still left to enhance, like the after sessions, qualification and races interviews, they can turn into something repetitive, or they way classic cars are introduced into the game. Despite all of these, Codemasters has done a great work, for example, with the IA, the visual aspect it's great too and with introductions of different elements that have created the career mode something more fresh and original.

The wish to have all of the series in PS4 is way too attractive to those who still don't know what this craze is about with regard to Sora, Donald and Goofy. Kingdom Hearts is still pure Disney and Square magic, and full HD, 60fps visuals feel great, although you can skip this if you already have the PS4 remasters, since this one has no extras.

The inclusion of FIBA teams, or the "LeBron James: Path of the Greatness" game mode are the big new features in a game that is, maybe, perfect.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided retains all of what made Human Revolution great and augments it. However, there isn't anything new and even has some gameplay mechanics that kinda take us back in time. Amazing for those who enjoyed the last installment in the franchise or those looking for an action RPG, with stealth options, a strong and mature plot and sophisticated gameplay.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is like a main entry in the franchise, but on a smaller scale. Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross are on par with Nathan Drake, being the main protagonists of a story where both characters' charisma is the main focus. Loads of action and visual luxury make this expansion another must, like Left Behind was back then.

Soul Calibur VI is probably the best game of the series and the most exciting title of its genre for 2018. The 22 fighters to master, Libra of Soul mode and the new Reverse Attack system and special moves will keep novice and veteran players fighting for hours. The history reboot and reinvention of the combat mechanics are the main weapons of this new installment. The battle to destroy Soul Edge is only beginning.

Lone Survivor, with its apparent simplicity, manages to terrify the player with its insane nightmarish world where impossible monstrosities move in the darkness, in an attempt to keep alive the genre of psychological horror... Not an easy task.

Resident Evil Village continues the story of Resident Evil 7, keeping its playable mechanics and adding new ideas that offer an adventure full of mystery and terror. His argument will convince fans of the saga from the beginning. Makes the most of the technology of PlayStation 5.

Resogun is the model to follow in indie titles. A frenetic yet simple play style, wonderful music, astounding visuals in their own way and a great attention to detail. Is it short? It is, but its replayability is undeniable. People will still be talking about this game in the years to come, as this is no doubt one of the best release titles for PlayStation 4.

Abe comes back stronger than ever. A game that plays with our nostalgia using actual technology. 100% recommendable.

Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward comes with a good plot and many surprise twists, in a storyline influenced by our choices that will lead to 24 different endings. With puzzles that will be a challenge for any player, and belonging to a not-too-common genre, Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward will constitute a unique experience.

If there is a must when it comes to remasters, it's BioShock: The Collection. Blind Squirrel made a superb work adapting for 1080p and 60fp an already superior franchise. If you haven't played any BioShock yet, this is the best moment and, if you are into Ken Levine's work, BioShock: The Collection has to be on your shelf.

Hitman is not what we would expect, neither visually nor in the chosen episodic format. However, it is what we would like to see when it comes to gameplay mechanics, taking a step back from that action-oriented path that Absolution had taken. A little more effort, regardless of it is an episodic entry or not, will make Hitman's next game what we really want to see from the franchise in this generation.

Blacklist is the most complete game of the franchise. The enemy A.I., agility in the actions and all the weapons and gadgets are the perfect support for a proposal of espionage. In addition, the integration of cooperative and competitive multiplayer is total, with a really clever solution that seals an adventure for lovers of action and stealth.

FIFA 18 is still at its prime, but this time it comes with fewer enhancements and new mechanics than last year's entry. The Frostbite engine is now under serious work and there are several new game modes, although Ultimate Team is still the king within this game.

Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster for PS4 is, in general terms, the same game we already played last year on PS3 and PS Vita. It offers slightly better visuals. However, only those who haven't played the game in the last remaster have a true reason to play it.

DmC: Devil May Cry Definitive Edition is a good remaster, although buying it or not depends whether you played everything the original to offer. Interesting additional contents, but the most remarkable aspect is the 60FPS that turns the experience into something much better in this case.

Doom: The Dark Ages will create division among fans. With a slower pace and the obligation to master the parrys, it's a game that if you like it can be very enjoyable, but if you are looking for another Doom Eternal you may find a barrier that prevents you from enjoying it. Musically we find the weakest delivery.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 continues with the path that its two previous chapters began and has become the best chapter to date, as long as you prefer to play its online modes instead of a story. The bet made by Treyarch has paid off and with this title they manage to raise the Call of Duty saga to new heights.

Ghost of Tsushima closes the current generation of consoles for PlayStation 4 offering a Samurai story that fans of Japanese culture will fall in love with, especially its excellent setting and incomparable landscapes.

We've been playing these puzzles for 30 years now, and finding them all mixed up and at a cheaper price is really attractive. Puyo Puyo Tetris has many multiplayer modes as well as single player and tutorial modes, and more content and colours than ever. The handheld attractive gets lost in this console port, that had Nintendo Switch in mind, but even so, it can become the main course in any party.

Crown of the Old Iron King is quite different from the first DLC. Harder, a smaller map, more optional quests. In general terms, it's still a more than interesting experience, not just another additional content, it has its own story... for those who pay attention.

CoD 4 changed everything and this remaster comes to us to make us remember how that beginning was. More remake than remaster, Raven Software done a good job introducing some gameplay changes and makes it a more balanced and rich experience, although it lacks some more content if they were up to the challenge of adding things.

Nier Replicant recovers a cult adventure with which to explore the Nier universe in depth, improving the weakest points of the original title to make it much more fluid and fun. Its soundtrack is memorable.

Square Enix takes the well known gameplay mechanics we all know from games like Minecraft and gives them a twist in order to create their own building game with Dragon's Quest soul. As addictive as easy to learn, Builders is a great surprise and the proof that you can do a lot with very little.

With Bastion's precedent, we were expecting that Transistor would be a most likely must have among indie games in PS4. Perhaps quite expensive if we take in consideration the relation between price and duration, but those superb visuals and music are really worthy. Probably the best exclusive, digital game for PS4 to date.

Burial at Sea - Episode 2 is the perfect ending for both of Bioshock games created by Ken Levine. The references and interconnections between both worlds are perfectly justified. Playing stealthy will test our skills because, due to Elizabeth's fragility, the enemies look really fearsome. State of the art visuals, but again, a disappointing lack of Spanish dubbing.

The West welcomes what is for many a cult visual novel. Conspiracy and intrigue tag along to let us decide what to do. Just for real fans of the genre.

Metro: Redux is a compilation only recommendable to those who haven't had the whole experience. There are obvious visual improvements, but it doesn't make it worth buying if you already have the games. On the other hand, if you haven't entered Moscow's Metro yet, this is the perfect chance, with the choice to play your way.

The Swapper gets the upper hand as one of the best puzzle games of the last years. It's not only because of the challenges it offers, but the overall beauty the game has, both plot-wise and in it's concept. A true gift for those who enjoy the genre.

Child of Light is one of those games you end up loving because of the beauty of it's images, and because you never lose sight of the effort and good job behind it's work.

Skylanders Swap Force is probably the most complete and successful installment of this franchise for children from Activision. The possibility of combining different Swap Force figurines widen the options. Furthermore, we can even use our Skylanders Spyro's Adventures and Skylanders Giants figurines, and both would include playable options.

Sledgehammer innovates, takes risks and finally hits the spot with Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. The addition of exoskeleton and its abilities are a breath of fresh air in the saga, whose multiplayer is once again really entertaining.

Project Cars is a game that driving simulator lovers will enjoy. Entertaining solo modes, online options and superb tracks will for sure give the game a lengthy life, even when the available cars aren't that many.

If EA wanted FIFA 19 to be a reconstruction, the final result is a nice try but not enough. It’s a good football game, It’s funny with its arcade touch which is really attractive. The new licenses of Champions League and Europa league with lots of Leagues around the world. The scenarios, the display of all around the football world is amazing, but the execution lacks in realism. But we can’t expect It from EA for the moment. They sell a fun football game, with some realistic touches, and that’s what millions of players buy. That’s all. And that’s enough.

Mortal Kombat X offers content enough to satisfy the most exquisite gamers, as well as many game modes, both for those who like to play solo as well as online or local multiplayer lovers. Not every new character has the old ones' charisma, but the work of NetherRealm Studios is absolutely remarkable.

Ubisoft removes that painful thorn from its side with Watch Dogs 2, and they can boast they have a great sandbox franchise. Its not the fact that it creates anything really new, but that it improves every hack possibility, the main difference between Watch Dogs and the rest of sandbox games. What's more, the lighting, the vibrant colors that compose San Francisco, and the sass of this sequel are exactly what it needed. Add a seamless multiplayer that rewards co-op action and you have stumbled upon the best sandbox of the year.

FIFA 16 takes another step towards simulation, with improved mechanics we saw in the last entries of the franchise, stepping aside from continuous counterattacks and giving more importance to the midfield. The addition of female teams results in an all round game for soccer lovers.

Wreckfest is a game that needed to reach PlayStation 4, because it shows that racing, destruction and good physics are very necessary elements in this game type. We could say that it is a casual title, but also challenging and perfect to give a bit of variety to a somewhat worn genre.

Slightly Mad Studios has filled its game with quality content for both professionals and newcomers, with that needed balance. A wide array of online options, as well as many customizable gameplay options, make Project Cars 2 one of the most important games of its genre right now. Not perfect, but a great driving game.
