Final Fantasy XVI is the definitive real-time combat experience of the series. It expands the horizons of the franchise and mixes the concepts of RPG and Hack & Slash into one masterpiece. Being by far the most epic installment of the franchise yet, it delivers an astonishing soundtrack, a dark-themed story with deep characters and relationships, and an unmatched feeling in combat that even the most experienced will be in awe with.- KeenGamer

Poly Bridge 3 is a perfectly serviceable game for the niche audience it is aimed toward, though probably won't find much success outside of that. It's a game in an expansive genre that turns regular jobs into entertaining video games, though leans more into comedy and exaggeration for added fun, which definitely helps its cause over others in the genre.- KeenGamer

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom improves on what many considered a masterpiece in Breath of the Wild. From expanding the locations you can explore, to the new abilities that give the player infinite control with their imagination, Tears of the Kingdom has it all. A few frame rate drops and inventory management can, at times, take away from the experience, but very rarely. Overall, Tears of the Kingdom is a must play for any fan of video games, and is an achievement that many games will strive to top for years to come.- KeenGamer

F1 23 is a remarkable racing experience that surpasses its predecessor in nearly every aspect. The improved physics and AI, along with new features such as the red flag and 35% race distance, Breaking Point narrative mode akin to Drive To Survive, and the Precision Drive Technology, which takes the driveability to a whole new level, all contribute to making F1 23 the greatest Formula 1 simulation game in the franchise's history. If you're into racing games, race culture, and the excitement of Drive to Survive, then you absolutely can't miss out on F1 23 - it's a must-have for any racing game fans!- KeenGamer

Burnhouse Lane offers a gripping and disturbing plot in which I was emotionally invested from the beginning. Charming characters, a creepy artstyle with some dashes of gore and distressing scenes accumulate for a unique horror story. Despite some clunkiness in controls along the way, the mechanics are simple, as are puzzle solutions. The moral complexities throughout create various outcomes for the game, making it tempting for a second playthrough. Also I don't think I mentioned, there are cats.- KeenGamer

Rogue Legacy 2 is a captivating, addicting, and truly unforgettable experience. It doesn't just improve on the first game, it renders it wholly obsolete. It's a truly amazing roguelike, one of the best in the industry. The art is beautiful and the combat is buttery smooth. Everyone should play this game. Especially if you love pizza. If you like narrative games, then you'll like Inner Ashes. It's a memorable game that will take you on an emotional journey. The story of Henry and Enid is engaging and will drive you to play until the very end, and the gameplay will challenge you. The way that Inner Ashes portrays a character with Alzheimer's was very well done. Every element of the game came together to tell a moving story and also show what it's like to live with Alzheimer's. Inner Ashes is certainly one of those games you should consider playing.- KeenGamer

Brotato is a twin-stick shooter roguelite game where the player controls a potato character surviving on an alien planet. With simple but enjoyable gameplay, the focus is on movement, dodging bullets, and choosing the right power-ups. Visually pleasing with clear graphics and adequate sound, Brotato delivers a satisfying and balanced gameplay loop.- KeenGamer

Trails Into Reverie is a fantastic game. It might be a tough nut to crack for newcomers to the series, and probably isn't the ideal place to start, but as someone who has had no prior exposure to the series I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the game and became more and more invested as I played. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for an epic and well-crafted RPG that will keep them entertained for a long time.- KeenGamer

Tour de France 2023 is polished enough to stand out in the sports simulation category, and it comes with some much-needed improvements over last year. Overall, I think Sweet Surrender VR is a good game, especially due to its mechanics. However, the content of Sweet Surrender could do with more polish. I recommend it to fans of VR games who are looking for a visually satisfying experience. Sweet Surrender gets the fundamental concepts right as a VR roguelike first-person shooter. Yet, the environments and limited enemy and weapon selection will have players grow tired of the industrial halls, cities, and laboratories. Sweet Surrender's constant stream of updates show a promising future, but also has to contend with other VR roguelikes such as In Death and The Light Brigade.- KeenGamer

Crash Team Rumble has the makings of a truly great, laid-back online game, however for the price players are paying, it is fair to expect more game modes and playable characters. With that said, new characters and a new arena are coming in Season 1, so the shortcomings may be resolved in the near future as more seasons come along. What we do have now is a whimsical, easy, and fun addition to the beloved Crash Bandicoot franchise.- KeenGamer

Yoku’s Island is worth exploring. There is the odd critique (dying at pinball?) - but the charming atmosphere and a well implemented mix of gameplay styles provide a very good time. The island of Mokumana has plenty of exploration, coupled with a few cool upgrades for Yoku to make it easier. Taking into consideration the right amount of collectibles and a story mode which doesn’t overstay its welcome and you’ve got a breezy, enjoyable adventure on your hands.- KeenGamer

Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life is clearly the definitive version of the classic title. This remaster adds many much needed quality-of-life fixes to the 2003 game, from the updated UI to the remastered graphics. This time around it is much more approachable, enjoyable, and the focus on relationships makes the experience stand out among the sea of farming games. However, these improvements can only do so much because the remaster fails to address the underlying problems of the original game. The long, slow days eventually blur together as the lack of strong side activities and festivals hamper the end result.- KeenGamer

Pro Cycling Manager 2023 is only meant for the most dedicated of cycling simulation fans, but the game itself is well-made, with no major issues. Cruise Ship Manager is a simulator that demands your full attention when managing a cruise line. Everything from the preparation to the journey must be accounted for and you can't take your eyes away. While it is great to have control over every aspect of your ship, it does get exhausting after a while. An inability to queue commands and having to monitor for problems tires you out. The game's visuals are decent but if you try to put indicators it can slow down your performance. It's a simulator that is best for those who are good at micromanagement and don't like using much automation. Other players might want to stay away if that's not the case.- KeenGamer

While the original stories remain intact, they have been reworked and new ideas have been interspersed among them. Layers of Fear doesn't shy away from the dark side of the human mind, representing emotions and thoughts in sinister art forms. Hand of Doom is a game that perfectly captures the essence of old school RPGs and dungeon crawlers. The visuals, audio, gameplay, and story reflect what it is like to play games back in the 90s. If you don't mind cheesy dialogue, pixelated visuals, and some silly FMVs, you will enjoy this game. For players who aren't used to the dated experience, the lack of appreciation could ruin your experience. It might be better to pass the game up if that is the case.- KeenGamer

Liberté is a deck-builder rogue-lite top-down game set during the French Revolution with a twist of a body horror eldritch monster lurking around. Vampire The Masquerade: Swansong offers a captivating story with some truly rewarding moments when you figure out the more difficult and obtuse puzzles. The story and lore holds the game together, as without it the game could be quite boring. It's a visually strong game with some flair to the cinematography. It's certainly not for everyone, as the game has no combat and is driven almost entirely by reading and dialogue. However it's sure to be enjoyed by fans of investigative storytelling.- KeenGamer

Darkest Dungeon II is a game that no one needed. The impact of the original Darkest Dungeon is still palpable and still holds to this day, but Red Hook set out to take the soul and essence of the original game, and polish it and polish it until they came up with this beauty of a game. The changes in gameplay mechanics are enough to make it feel more like a different game with the same core, rather than an actual sequel, and it's unfortunately fighting against its bigger brother, but Darkest Dungeon II brings enough to the fight to make it a compelling and well-worth experience for grim, Lovecraftian Roguelite fans.- KeenGamer

Amnesia: The Bunker is a strong addition to the legendary franchise. The gameplay is at it's best, and the audio and visuals bring the claustrophobic setting to life. The adaptations to the formula make it stand out in the series, with well-tuned and executed abilities added to the player without undermining the scares. Everdream Valley is not just a great farming game, but just a great game in general. It's not perfect, due to the issues with lagging and bugs that I've had, but otherwise I've had a genuinely good time playing this game. I feel this game is suitable for all ages, whether you're a child or an adult. It's not babyish to put older players off, yet it's easy enough for a child to play and enjoy. Killer Frequency is a cheesy homage to the 80s slasher genre. You will feel the tension rise with the stakes as it is down to you to solve puzzles and save lives. While there are a few instances of flawed solutions, problem solving is genuinely rewarding as each success results in a thwarted murder. Encompassing the 80's vibe through its story, stylised graphics and electronic audio design, Killer Frequency will leave you laughing with the canned laughter on your soundboard, then feeling guilty for it straight after.- KeenGamer

This is a must play for any fan of retro FPS titles. Every inch of this game is dripping with action and gore, blowing monsters apart has never felt better. And with a heavy metal OST to top things off, Nightmare Reaper is a high watermark for the retro FPS genre. Homebody is a solid enough experience that works better for puzzle fans than horror fans. The time loop aspect of the game degrades the limited scares to little more than an inconvenience, leaving a dynamic puzzle game that tests your mind and provides the satisfying reward of solving them. Star Trek Resurgence feels like an episode of Star Trek, for better or worse. I feel like the character models should move more fluidly, react more naturally if I'm going to be staring at them so much. The game somehow has a way of railroading me while still leaving me uncertain of what it wants me to do. In the end, however, I found it fun. It's slow and deliberate, but that's what works for this franchise. I'm a Star Trek fan and this made me feel like I was part of the story. After Us succeeds in delivering a unique and stylish platform experience. While the mechanics are simple, you are challenged to use them in different ways throughout the 12 hour(ish) experience, although sometimes depth perception may cause an aggravating amount of falls. Outlive has its pros and cons but was at the end a reasonably enjoyable horror experience. Ravenlok is a game I desperately wanted to love but, in my short time with it, so many obstacles made that impossible. A fantastical world of whimsy and fantasy is unfortunately betrayed by the dull rendition of the Wonderland story and the empty characters who dwell within it. By far the biggest weakness, though, is that, in a desire to be more approachable, the combat is a spammy mess without depth, challenge or complexity and it taints the package. Strayed Lights is a visually stunning game, displaying a highly polished aesthetic paired with a serene soundtrack. There are elements to Curse of the Sea Rats that really shine. It is exciting to progress through the world in Metroidvania-style watching the animations, cooky boss fights, and listening to the music. Fairy Fencer F: Refrain Chord feels chained to its retro inspirations. While very little could be considered objectively poor, there's a lack of care to innovate that leaves Refrain Chord feeling bogged down. I get it. You don't go into Lovecraft expecting to giggle. It's a deep spiral of depression and ennui that lets you explore human nature. With boats. What I want to get through is that despite that, despite my anxiety and hesitation to play this, I actually enjoyed myself. I liked dredging wrecks for supplies. I liked pulling up exotic catches while dodging aberrant anglerfish. Heck, I even loved a few of the characters like the Researcher. Despite my hatred for stress inducing games, I found myself unable to pull away from this game. It's good! Depressing, but good. I apologize if this review sounded somewhat nitpicky. I'm only this strict because Battle Network is a series that is near and dear to me, one that I played a lot in my youth, and I want it to be the best that it could be, such that other people can come to love Battle Network as much as I do. If Capcom had taken the proper steps to modernize these games, then they could be masterpieces, but if you have the patience to deal with their quirks and archaic mechanics, then the Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection will offer you 100+ hours of JRPG goodness, and it will not disappoint.- KeenGamer

Boneraiser Minions pushes the bullet hell survival genre in new directions with fresh ideas, and an addictive gameplay loop. The clean, retro visuals are fantastic and the improved accessibility options make Boneraiser Minions easy to enjoy. The fun classes and interesting minions create a deep layer of strategy and potential builds as you take your revenge on King Gigald. At just $4.99, Boneraiser Minions is a great value and can provide dozens of hours of entertainment.- KeenGamer

Hunt the Night is a challenging but rewarding game that rewards players with new gear, timing, and skill. It takes place in a world where humans and monsters live in a cycle, where humans come together to stop the cycle. Dialogue in the game is intentionally vague and just enough to set the tone of the world. The story and gameplay of Hunt the Night are well-done, with a mix of melee and ranged combat with dodging.- KeenGamer

Scars Above tells an excellent story and provides several mechanics that fans of the genre will enjoy. The landscapes and monsters are designed beautifully, with audio that completes each setting. While character design could use some work, and customization would have been nice, the good heavily outweighs the bad with this one. The combat difficulty will provide plenty of frustration and enjoyment for days on end.- KeenGamer

After the Fall performs well in the gameplay department. The guns feel great, enemies are terrifying and diverse, and the 80s Apocalyptic setting of a frozen Los Angeles feels amazing to play around in. Vertigo Games has innovated on their already successful mechanics from Arizona Sunshine, taking a page from Left 4 Dead, while raising all aspects of production quality. Grinding in After the Fall is fun and worthwhile, and the multiplayer aspect works well in VR.- KeenGamer

It seems absurd to complain about a lack of content in a game that has an endless amount of player-created levels. But for Meet Your Maker, it fits very well. This could be an amazing game, but the limited set of tools available at launch restricts the amount of fun that can be had by both raiders and builders. I'm sure it will be awesome in a year from now, however. With more content and tools, only then will Meet Your Maker truly shine.- KeenGamer

Forsake is a solid new entry within the ghost-hunting genre. Unseen Interactive manages to capture and expand upon what makes the genre great. The stages are well-made, and the Entities in this game are solid, all having their unique behavior. While there's a game-breaking bug that prevents us from finishing a Ritual, overall Forsake is a fun ride that many players, both veterans and newcomers alike, can enjoy.- KeenGamer

Post Void is an acid trip disguised as a boomer shooter. When the trippy visuals aren't messing with your mind, the twitch-based gameplay kicks your butt six ways from Sunday. Post Void's roguelike mechanics provide depth and variety to each playthrough. It's an adrenaline rush like no other, one where its surrealism hides a challenging but rewarding old-school FPS.- KeenGamer

Kudos to SEGA! The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog really shows what the developers are capable of. This inspired and creative game has already captured the hearts of many fans, and it captured mine alike. With its vibrant and immersive gameplay, this adventure is perfect to fill an afternoon with. Here's to hoping that SEGA sees the positive reception and makes more Sonic content like this. I already can't wait.- KeenGamer

Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel is an awesome game that Yu-Gi-Oh! fans, both new and old would love. I honestly would've probably given this a lower score, but they just added the option decks from YGOProDeck directly to the game. This just fixes one of the major issues of the game and warrants it a better rating. All in all, fantastic looking graphics, and it plays well. What else can you really ask from a card game?- KeenGamer

Deflector takes the idea of deflecting attacks and weaves it into the roguelite genre. While it doesn’t necessarily break new ground, it does offer additional strategy that makes you think about blocking. There’s nothing fundamentally different as you play, and it’s still a regular roguelite. But it’s a roguelite that encourages different playstyles, deflecting, and has a great soundtrack to listen to.- KeenGamer

Escape From The Red Planet is a tower defence game incorporating aspects of lite resource management and rail shooters. That sounds like many things, but Escape From The Red Planet manages to simplify this concept to its bone. This simplification helps the game flow well but also leads to aspects where the game is sometimes way too simplified. All this leads to a pleasant game which is short and fun.- KeenGamer

Hogwarts Legacy is littered with small niggles which, when stacked together, make the game feel like it was released over a decade ago. While the castle is a large enough area to explore, the monotony of repeating quests and tasks makes the game feel last-generation and boring over time. Hogwarts Legacy could already use some DLC's in order to expand the size of the world, add more complex spells, and introduce a wider array of enemies. If you are a power-nerd looking for a new and complete RPG, you will have to wait for Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, coming in April 2023. While most critics agree that Hogwarts Legacy is near perfect, due to the incomplete feeling of the game and lack of a solid story arc, it feels more Muggle than magic.- KeenGamer

Behind the Secret of Rainy Woods gave me a great reason to jump back into The Good Life, a game that while challenging and sometimes frustrating, was also very enjoyable, not to mention memorable. Contraband Police looks like a simple document checking game at the outset. But if you dedicate some time to play it, you will find a decent story and varied gameplay. A good balance of activities prevents the game from feeling boring too quickly, and the story is surprisingly deep. Loretta has a great story which has you follow a villain protagonist with the titular character. While not as intense as being an accomplice to the crime, you control how Loretta acts after her husband’s death. Controlling the story and seeing Loretta deal with the consequences makes you want to see what happens next. It’s a shame that unnecessary puzzles disrupt the story and take away from the game’s strengths, or this could be a game to remember.- KeenGamer

While I won't be giving up my PlayStation Session for Switch, the game still holds up and retains the essence of the game. The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition is the best way to experience your adventure on Halcyon. For new players who haven’t touched the game, there’s a good time to be had. A solid storyline, fun combat, and freely building your character's proficiencies. For veterans, the only real draws are increased character customisation and a better looking Halcyon. Although No Longer Home offers an emotionally reflective narrative that will resonate with it's players, I personally feel there were areas which could have been explored further. After beating Little Witch Nobeta, my main thought was that I wanted more. More spells, more environments, more characters, more opportunities to customize Nobeta. It's always a good sign when a game leaves you wanting more. I feel like this could be the foundation for an awesome sequel if Pupaya Games sees fit to make one. There is definitely room for a sequel, especially with everything revealed in the lore entries. But as is, Nobeta is a cute and charming good time that is sure to delight.- KeenGamer

Total War: Warhammer III Champions of Chaos is a totally decent DLC. Whilst it doesn't set the world on fire nor shake things up too much it is fun for what it is. Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes stands strong as a dynamic take on the world of Three Houses however the repetitive gameplay and padded stories leave a challenge to even complete the game without using broken characters. The visuals can be very pleasing but the environments always feel the exact same. This also goes for the character interactions, which are dry as they will often repeat dialogue or say things unrelated to the story. Overall a fun interesting time is still to be had but only in short bursts. Fans of Three Houses will love this game but others will be left confused and bored.- KeenGamer

Dread Templar does a solid job of providing a game that feels like it belongs in the 90's. The shooting is great and there are plenty of guns and enemies. There are a lot of levels filled to the brim with secrets to hunt down. There are plenty of upgrades to find and augment your playstyle with. The aesthetic is dark and grim. Everything gels together nicely. But by trying too hard to replicate a 90's shooter, Dread Templar misses out on a few modern mechanics that would've really helped the gameplay.- KeenGamer

Arcaxer is an awesome VR journey with unified aesthetics and a fully fleshed out campaign. The aforementioned story content and post game, along with mechanics that shine and are unique in VR, makes this title worth adding to VR libraries, especially those who are fans of flat screen JRPGS.
