Even if it's undoubtedly on of the best strategy games of the year, Company of Heroes 2 lacks a bit of dare before we can call it genius. Well done and quite consistent, Relic Entertainment's title fails by greediness (26 DLC's for over 50 euros on day one, seriously??), a tendency to require a very powerful PC and some AI problems. Happily, the game mechanics inherited from the first episode are still enjoyable, and the influence of winter time on the gameplay is an appreciated novelty.- JeuxActu

Magrunner: Dark Pulse may be a modest game, but it's a nice game nevertheless. In spite of a story which doesn't really matter and a "Chtulhu touch" underused, Magrunner does well with his gameplay and it's enough to give us some good moments. And forgive the weakness of the last part of the game.- JeuxActu

For a first shot, we can count it as a success. Remember Me is not flawless but mort of those flaws are due to the ip's youth or an excessive care. Good ideas not well used, features that are too limited in use or too rare, some repetitive things too, but that's pretty much all we can criticize the game for. The risk-taking brought by this new gameplay, a new context and a unique universe are wonderful. On the looks, the bet is won et we would even like to know a bit more about this strange Neo Paris. Maybe in another title? With such inspired graphics and creativity, we hope the sequel will follow on quite quickly.- JeuxActu

Even if the the family look is there, Wargame: AirLand Battle isn't just Wargame: European Escalation with planes. The games are easier to handle (which is a good thing) and the campaign changes its format (which was almost a good thing). All this without damaging the strategic content that made the studio's lust. The wannabe soldier will be happy to find hundreds of available units, and it will be time consuming before you can master everything during online games. The players really fond of change might regret the seriousness of the graphics and interface.- JeuxActu

With The Last of Us, Naughty Dog provides us with a hell of a masterpiece, which will continue to occupy the thoughts of gamers in the coming years, simply because it redefines the standards of survival Horror games. Instead of using and abusing horrific scenes as is the case with the competitors, the game provides a chronic stress that chews on your brains bit by bit punctuated by great epic scenes. The infected people are relentless and unforgiving, though a bit like the Clickers who will rip your head at the slightest sound. The listening system does not impact the challenge and finds itself an invaluable asset when things get really dirty. As one needs to seduce casual gamers, The Last of Us also has its own action scenes, hence the criticism from the purists of this kind of game. But can we really be skeptical when facing the nicest game of this generation of consoles ? No, we cant...- JeuxActu

The GRID series goes arcade with this new game. A ruthless and less exigent gameplay are proof that GRID 2 places itself between Gran Turismo and Need For Speed, leaning towards the arcade style of EA's title. In spite of a moderately interesting solo mode, mostly ruined by a criminal IA, the games scores back with a very fun multiplayer very old school inspired. The lack of real link between the two modes is actually a strength as one don't need to hit the solo to unlocks stuff in multiplayer. GRID 2 still carries the original's DNA but it focuses on arcade in order to seduce amateurs of racing games that want to avoir the tech malarkey.- JeuxActu

For less than 15 euros, Techland gives us an honest game which can stand the comparison with blockbusters. The developers took great care in making a nice environment through the use of cel-shading for graphics, music, and the voice that makes the game entertaining. But Call of Juarez Gunslinger ain't faultless. The game is quite short, the AI and the dullness of the gameplay are serious faults. Gunslinger is an arcade title that you should play like an arcade game: intensively and quickly!- JeuxActu

In Mario and Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move, there is no princess to save. In this game you will play as one of your favorite heroes in a couple of reasoning mini games. This game is easy to handle with a lot of content. It is big but it is for short term session only because of the repetitive side of the game. Far from the appeal of a Fallout 3, Metro Last Light bets on a really dark and nerve racking post-apocalyptic ambiance. This undoubtedly is the strong point of the game, but not the only one. The latest 4A's Games subtly mixes gunfights, stealth approach and storyline that confirm the literary roots of the script. Offering good immersion despite some minor problems with the AI, the game leads the player in a very intricate world. A world where the beauty of the graphics allows to forget about the drawbacks mentioned, especially on PC with potent graphics cards where the game can be put through its paces. If the fans of Metro 2033 will swear at the distribution method of the "Ranger" mode, they can be reassured, Metro Last Light is as good as it's prequel, and maybe even better.- JeuxActu

Far Cry 3: blood Dragon is a huge trip in the 80's that the developers have allowed themselves by modding the awesome Far Cry 3. Only sold online through Steam, the PSN and Xbox Live for 15 miserable euros, this game is a true acid trip that finally puts the humor as the central point in the storyline hence a game which is incredibly fun to play. Combining the strength of Far Cry 3 in its original form with a creative surge from a game designers with balls, Blood Dragon delivers what we were expect if since long ago: some pure unadulterated fun and that was clearly the objective of Sgt Rex Power Colt whose presence is enough to make this game one of the best investments of the year.- JeuxActu

Mars: War Logs is really a low cost game. Sold for 20 euros, it delivers a complete adventure with a decent lifetime in spite of many faults. Even knowing that the game was developed on a tight budget, some points are rally hard to accept and the limited budget does not forgive everything. But we have to admit that for this price, we can't ask too much from a recent studio. Mars: War Logs is a small budget game which will entertain you and it's not a bad start, knowing that everything that was advertised is in the game. The promises are kept. As was expected, Star Trek: The Game is a bad attempt to take advantage of J.J. Abrams' movie, which will soon be on your screens. Epic from start to finish, weird and attractive at the same time, Soul Sacrifice is an original game that takes its time to reveal it's potential. The universe is carefully crafted and the ambiance mixing uneasiness and sadness make a vault that fits the PS Vita tailored gameplay. A direct competitor of Monster Hunter, Soul Sacrifice does not match the list of monsters but sheds light on the obsolete game mechanics of Capcom's game while renewing the concept. Too bad that this game still suffers from it's youth as some mistakes are present, but we hope those will disappear in an upcoming sequel.- JeuxActu

Available with an attractive price, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen will please lovers of this kind of game. This extension still offers a variety of new stuff which is primarily about the content. For the gameplay or graphics rendering, no change was found. What has been the strength and vitality of the game was preserved, but not only, because AI defects are once again present. Rather annoying for a game already released a year earlier. Finally, fans who have Dragon's Dogma, 2012 version, can still feel a little aggrieved because pay € 30 for this extension is a bit excessive. Defiance suffers from a number of small problems that could be fixed with a patch. With countless bugs and the lack of a cover system among others, Defiance fails due to its youth rather than from really bad development quality, lots of good concepts and ideas thrown in the game - but most of those are so badly used. For now in the state of a promising beta, Defiance is still an average MMO that lacks player interactions or a Third Person Shooter with a linear gameplay and lots of bugs. The price to pay for an MMO with no monthly subscription? We were expecting more from the studio that made Rift, moreover when that game costs 50€ plus the season pack which make it a very expensive beta.- JeuxActu

If Nintendo refuses to start developing new licenses, it's only because the firm already has enough talent to efficiently renew it's existing ones with a success others have yet to match. Luigi's Mansion 2 is a perfect example of this pattern as Luigi's new adventures in haunted houses hack your mind like drugs once the player understands the finer points of the game. The gameplay has a great finesse which is very enjoyable and the directing along the general atmosphere are almost a masterpiece. Of course the lack of a second controlling stick is not the best feature of the game and we would have liked a multiplayer mode with more rhythm. There are videogames, great licensed products and then there is The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct. Coming out with the end of the third season of the series, Activision's game is just a tasteless merchandising product, quickly developed in an attempt to increase the financial income of the license. Everything is to be thrown away in this pitiful FPS that clearly shows the misunderstanding of the series by the development team. What's left is a very ugly game which is quite appalling for HD consoles nearing the end of their lives. Very repetitive, with no interest whatsoever, the game offers one of the worst AI's in the industry. Needless to say that after Telltales's brilliant games the quality drop is epic, and when a game's quality falls of the table, so does our grade.- JeuxActu

Like it's ancestor, Bioshock Infinite should be in the hall of fame of videogames. Not for technical reasons, as the game is not quite top notch on that front, but it is magnificent for artistic reasons. Columbia is absolutely spectacular, as the universe does not limit itself to scripted areas, and the storyline has a real point beyond entertainment. In sharp contrast to the mass of videogames that are forgotten ten minutes after the gamers are done playing with them, Bioshock Infinite will forever impact the memories of those who have the chance to experience it. FPS fans will like the different elements of the game such as fails, airtrains and Elizabeth that allow an increase in the fight's rhythm, a vast improvement over the first Bioshock. Whether you're an intellectual or a trigger happy maniac, you will definitely find a reason to enjoy this fabulous game. Long live Bioshock Infinite.- JeuxActu

Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 delivers what it promised to do, meaning not much, but that fact alone is worth mentioning. Forget all about the big productions of the market, here we clearly are in another market share: Low Cost gaming. This Dacia of the videogame, once the buyer don't expect the full service, starts scoring points in the spirit of the fanatic of sniper games. If we cant consider recommending this game to the first gamer we meet, a real hardcore gamer fond of Sniper action might well like it. God of War Ascension is a controversial subject. If fans will be disappointed because the game is less spectacular than God of War 3, newcomers will be seduced by Kratos who has always been close to perfection. SCEA Santa Monica Studio masters the main aspects of the game: graphics are beautiful, the final boss fight is huge and the voice acting is efficient. In fact, the problem is all people remember God of War 3 and were expecting the same show. We expected a lot from Dead Space 3 and were not disappointed. The game keeps all its promises, with true moments of tension proving that Visceral Games hasn’t betrayed the Dead Space series. Horror is there, and we have never seen such violent Necromorphs. This perfect balance between action sequences and anguish is efficient, avoiding Dead Space 3 making the same mistake as Resident Evil 6. But we must be honest with the fans: if the next Dead Space has more action scenes, there will be reason to fear the worst. Since it’s not a perfect game, it’s important to highlight the poor cover system and the lack of boss fights. Taking the best elements that made the two previous titles so successful, correcting some of their mistakes too, Far Cry 3 is clearly the blockbuster we were waiting for. Visually and artistically, the open-world is simply amazing. The different missions the main campaign consists of are all interesting as well, and the co-op aspects that are well-introduced. The multiplayer mode will entertain players for hours thanks to ingenious gameplay ideas.- JeuxActu

As a clever mix of the universe of LittleBigPlanet and the interesting gameplay of Modnation Racers, LittleBigPlanet Karting had pretty good bases to offer amazing races we can usually find in the Mario Kart IP. However, the lack of dynamism, especially in solo, makes the game a little bit less attractive. Hopefully, the multiplayer mode, with its community-based gameplay, offers enough challenges to spend a great time with friends, but not enough innovations to be one of a kind.- JeuxActu

The deadliest bald man in the videogame universe is back in a new episode which strikes hard. Hitman Absolution doesn't revolutionize the roots of the series' concept, but it manages to rejuvenate the method. Beautiful and clearly cinematic, Io Interactive's game gives to the player a great amount of freedom despite some A.I flaws. Thanks to its impressive lifespan and its entertaining multiplayer mode, Hitman Absolution is a member of the end-of-year greatest games.- JeuxActu

Planed to act as a demonstration of Wii U's capabilities, Nintendo Land is actually more than that. Despite a great number of basic mini-games, this product features three fantastic concepts based on Mario, Luigi's Mansion and Animal Crossing's worlds. Like snow or Christmas decorations, Call of Duty shows itself by the end of the year. Like every year since Modern Warfare. This time, it's the turn of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, developed by Treyarch. Unlike its predecessor, the story sets in two distinct eras, the 80's and the year 2025. Two viewpoints which allow the game to offer many side roads in the story, and 8 different endings. This is a first for such a mainstream series. Of course the game's core remains the same on the basics: cinematic action, epic scenes and a percussive score. Even if Black Ops 2 reuses old recipes, it does it really well and remains a great experience.- JeuxActu

Football Manager 2013 is the best Football Manager released at this stage in many ways. New modes arrive just in time to renew interest in the game (with the Challenges) and give an easier access to it for the newcomers (with the Classic mode). GUI improved a lot, every information you need is at your disposal. Forget about playing with the 3D engine by the way : it hasn't evolved since last year, unlike training sessions, which are simpler and more logical to organize. FM has never been so deep, so real and each decision you make will have an impact on your manager.- JeuxActu

Lionhead's latest production could have been a great game. Unlike many titles powered by Kinect, Fable: The Journey has beautiful graphics, an orchestral score and interesting characters. As usual, the British studio manages to create compelling stories and a "easy to reach" gameplay but Kinect ruins them all. Driving the horse-drawn carriage is pleasant, but as soon as Gabriel sets foot upon the floor for action stages, the gameplay becomes a nightmare.
