Even if it's just a port, Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends Complete Edition deserved more. We could talk about enhanced visuals but the game is really far from beautiful. The battles are dynamic and the cast is huge. But it's not enough to see it as a gathering episode.

After the failure of the last LEGO installment, what a thrill to play this one. LEGO : The Hobbit smells like déjà-vu but the receipt is kind of efficient. It's a great entertainment and it will give some good stuff to Tolkien and LEGO fans, despite of the recurring technical problems and repetitive gameplay.

As long as you don't start to play, the game seems to be fun, pretty and you can say to yourself that you're gonna spend some nights on it with your pals. But you will soon change your mind. Amongst the only six sports available, three are just good to go to the garbage because of the inaccuracy of the detection. And the others don't bring enough togetherness to be played for hours. At the end of the day, Kinect is far more enjoyable from your couch.

Professor Layton VS. Ace Attorney reach only half of its objectives. From a purely scenaristic point of view, the mission is rather accomplished, as Level 5 offers a great piece of story without going nuts with the cross-over stuff. Unfortunately, the two gameplays stay far from each other and never really mix. That's kind of awkward for a cross-over title.

Goat Simulator is mostly a big gaming joke, and we'd love to love it. But it needed to be free, or really cheap. With a 10 euros price tag, players can ask for more. As the creators of this UFO said earlier, "you should probably instead buy a hula hoop, a pile of bricks or a real goat".

Pinball Arcade is a very good exclusive title for PS4 and at the same time the best pinball game we've seen for years. With 22 playfields (and 35 others to come) amongst the best, you've a huge content at your disposal. Furthermore, the Farsight game successfully retranscripts the sensations, visuals and noises of all those playfields of the past. Old-school.

Maybe Bioshock Infinite: Burial At Sea - Episode 2 is exactly what Thief was meant to be: the best stealth game of the early days of 2014? This one is an absolutely must-have for Bioshock fans. As an awful reflection of the recent events at Irrational Games, Bioshock releases its true conclusion and leaves the taste of accomplishment. An awesome last shot.

Keiji Inafune and his pals got us there: we were expecting something big, and Yaiba Ninja Gaiden Z is just another insult to the beat'em all gender. Despite some diversity from one combo to another, the fights quickly become boring because of an out-of-age AI, amongst other faults. Mediocrity in the level design reinforces this very straightforward aspect of Yaiba, which is far from its ancestors from a technical point of view.

Final Fantasy X | X-2 HD Remaster is a nice remake of two great games. Technically (and that's the point of this HD version), there's nothing to complain about, and you will also be able to play some new content from the International editions. But we can't avoid a few disappointments: no Japanese voices and no cross-buy between Vita and PS3.

With a certain lack of new games since the launch of the PS4, there was some pressure on inFAMOUS Second Son. This new installment is the first in the series to become a symbol of a new generation of consoles. If the game isn't error-free, it's also exhilarating once you get a rather large range of super-powers. Like the former episodes, Second Son offers a very powerful feeling of freedom. Added to beautiful visuals that generate lighting and particle effects all over the place, you can say InFAMOUS Second Son is the handsome guy of the PS4.

Ground Zeroes is full of promises. The fact is that Metal Gear has barely ever been so enjoyable, so smooth to play. The open-world gameplay fits perfectly with the essence of the series and this clearly brings something more. Epic, beautiful (even if we can hope for more once PS3 and Xbox 360 won't be the main targets), flexible and easy to comprehend and to manipulate, Ground Zeroes is, nevertheless, only some kind of blown up DLC. As long as it's sold as a full game, even with a price cut, it will not meet expectations.

It's been eight years since we've seen Yoshi in a journey of his own. As you can imagine, there were massive hopes on his shoulders. And the disappointment is only harder to swallow after completing this - short - adventure. It's nice, but the game never manages to take off. The far too slow rhythm leaves the player progressing with no real aim. There is some new stuff of course, new transformations, the giant eggs to throw, but nothing really exciting. The fans will enjoy the graphics (very seductive), and the classic gameplay, still able to hit some soft spots, but that is all they'll get. It is clear Nintendo is targeting the youngest gamers, who are going to find in Yoshi's New island, a good platformer, but nothing compared to the former episodes.

It's a good idea from NIS America to widen access to visual novels out of Japan, as long as they make good decisions. And they don't. The publisher has maybe chosen something too spooky for the Western players. Only translated in English, DanganRonpa : Trigger Happy Havoc definitely forgets some who don't want to play 30 hours like that. The others could be interested in the crazy story but it's far too slow. Players have to read lines and lines of discussion before reaching, at last, a gameplay scene. And don't expect the visuals, in bad taste, to enhanced this not so good assessment.

It's difficult to resist the charms of HearthStone: Heroes of WarCraft, which stacks up qualities. Easily manageable by any gamer, highly addictive, and made with an artistic touch, this game fully uses the rich Warcraft universe and its fame. The price to pay is having to make due with classic card game gameplay, not a revolution in the card collecting game genre...and it can prove tiresome at some point if you don't go hunting for the rare cards. Strangely, the interface needs improvement, and some bugs still persists. But since the game is free and really fun, there is no reason to not give it a try.

Dark Souls 2 won't change anything: if you liked the experience FromSoftware offered in the former episodes, then you will like it again. But if not, you won't start liking now. The great atmosphere, the feeling of loneliness, the intriguing soundtrack and the difficulty still make the quality of this game. But Dark Souls 2 begins to fall behind from the technical point of view, and it's far too demanding for such old-school gameplay.

Our first contact with Rambo : The Videogame at the gamescom 2012 had already hinted us, but we would have never imagined a catastrophe of this magnitude. Rail shooter on drugs, Reef ENtertainment's title is simply unplayable, due to an aim lacking calibration, incomprehensively lame design choices (a full level with only QTE), shameful graphics worthy of the late 90's era, an extreme difficulty and an OSt that limits to a few looped themes. We are used to playing crappy games, but it's been long since we saw a turd of that caliber. Rambo The Videogame is a school case, a benchmark for what is to be avoided when making videogames, a true message to developers. At least it will have one purpose.

As a huge fan of Lego games, I've been disappointed by The LEGO Movie Videogame. Of course the title aims at seducing young fans of the film, but is it a reason to ruin the content and the direction? Of course we find humor, platforming riddles and stuff to collect which became the renown of previous titles, but the result is not quite as enjoyable. If we limit ourselves to the bad direction, the crappy music, the bugs and lags will still be enough to displease most achievement hunters. But even the content of the game sucks, fewer characters than usual, a light life, easy progression. As it seems it's not that easy to make a good LEGO game from a great LEGO film. Next try in 2017 with LEGO the movie 2!

Without changing anything, Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 offers an action packed game based on your ability to inflict a maximum of damage to your enemies. In spite of a very old graphics engine, the game offers a decent life with about 15 hours of play. With dynamic gameplay, the ip follows the likes of Devil May Cry and God of War for the fan's enjoyment. We're speaking about the technical aspect that the ip has stacked since its arrival on PS3 and Xbox 360, which still harms the game and our eyes. We're even more disappointed to see that it ruins the good artistic direction of the game. We also have to mention the difficulty, set on extremely hard in a hope to increase the life of the game. But Lightning returns also has some great features, the 13 days left to Lightning to achieve its mission, and the quests to be achieved give a good rhythm to the title, while the costume system give a true strategic dimention to the fights. We can't really say that Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze is revolutionary because in the end Retro Studios just follows the recipe that worked well on the Wii, but with undeniable success. The HD textures allow better graphics, and the dynamic camera adds depth to the environment. Though the gameplay is precise as ever, we still regret that the gamepad features were not used at all. A bad point when you think that the co-op was well improved during the treasure hunts. The try and die mechanics are quite rage-inducing, but not enough to shake Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze on its feet. Undoubtedly, this game is an instant classic of the Wii U, the first of 2014. The multifaction combat is not revolutionary, but it does bring a fresh look at the combat system, and allows to save your ammo. Top end direction, excellent OST what are we upset about Left Behind? After a deceiving The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword which left us with bad memories, Nintendo thought it was time to get back to basics with A Link Between Worlds, inspired by the majestic A Link to the Past. Twenty years later, the core fans will find themselves in known territory with the same map, the three collars to lift the legendary sword and the seven sages to rescue; giving the game the looks of a remake which it isn't. If the basics are there, the dev team took some freedom like the ability to complete dungeons in any order you want, without any impact on the story. Transform into a painting to walk on walls brings a fresh touch to an already very good gameplay, even if we can sense a lack of inspiration. Truly, the worst flaw of A Link Between Worlds is the casual turn taken by the series, which ruins the challenge. With a very well made atmosphere, a good storyline and a high quality Jazz soundtrack, Compulsion Game's title takes the player in a very seductive world. But the true strong point of the game is in its addictive gameplay, the possibility to shift between 2D and 3D serves both the game and the story by providing us with a peep of the real world, seen through a game of shadows. Without being flawless, Contrast manages to be a very good platform game that will win the hearts of most gamers for sure.

Two years after the first game, Rocksmith 2014 does not convince us that it improved over its ancestor. Of course the menus are simpler and the overhaul of modes was a necessity. The lessons are plentiful and more detailed, the playlist still rocks and the teaching method is good for beginners. But some flaws are still present, whether it be the tuning recognition, or the need to have a specific setup to avoid latency; and new ones appear (unpolished Riff mode, useless impro mode, way overpriced). To sum up, those who bought the first episode of the series won't find anything groundbreaking in this new Rocksmith.

Killzone: Shadow Fall is a very good tech demo for the PS4, but also an excellent FPS with nothing to be ashamed of in front of Battlefield 4 and Call of Duty Ghosts in terms of gameplay and multiplayer experience. Sony's game does even better with an open gameplay, where the use of the combat drone was well thought out at start. Shadow Fall is maybe a bit less spectacular and fast-paced than Killzone 3 in it's solo mode, but it gained in open-mindness much to our enjoyment. The exploration is a new element to be reckoned with which is a good thing when you know you're going to spend hours staring at those marvelous graphics that set the tone for the story. Giving the player some choices, that's the mainstay of a game which keeps its promises in spite of a few polishing flaws. A game that offers a very good solo and multiplayer and should appeal to most gamers.

After completing the first episode of this Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea, it clearly appears that mixing Bioshock and Bioshock Infinite universes was a very good idea indeed, and maybe the best reason for a solo DLC. Going through Rapture is a true joy, and the meeting with Elizabeth as a pin-up is great. The gameplay, the art direction and the scenario are still very interesting. The only drawback are the two hours of play sold for 15€. You should go for the Season Pack!

Whereas most of sport games are going next gen (FIFA, NBA 2K, NBA LIVE), others like WWE are aiming at current gen improvements. A nice initiative, and improvements have been made for this WWE 2K14 which display a crazy casting. With over 100 wrestlers in the game, there is material to play for quite some time with that game which also displays better animations. Those are not breathtaking but it has to be mentioned since it's in a transition title. On the graphics side, it's a disappointment, the wrestlers are badly made with ugly textures and a creepy public. Thankfully the ambiance around the ring is pretty neat and largely compensate for technical problems even if those bugs and dated gameplay would require an update. Now that 2K is in the business and has taken the IP, let's hope that next gen games will make this series shine again. It's worth it, and we would like it a lot.

Golden award for the most soporific gameplay ever, Sniper Elite : Nazi Zombie Army is simply boring to play, and should not appeal to any gamer thanks to an almost nonexistent content, ugly graphics and poor gameplay. Definitely a commercial trick as this content should not even be sufficient for a DLC. It's hard to make a judgment on Battlefield 4 because of the large gap of quality between the campaign and the multiplayer mode. Both are absolutely beautiful, but the former has nothing else... Fortunately, a Battlefield game is made to play with some other players. Maps are huge and well-balanced, the "Levolution" feature is kind of cool and vehicles make the experience really enjoyable. If you play alone, forget Battlefield 4. If not, go for it.

We feel that Milestone has given up, and has just done the bare minimum to keep the franchise alive and make payment for the WRC's rights. Made with no passion, this tasteless game will occupy the most dedicated fans for a few short moments before it's forgotten. Very poor gameplay and a lack of finish won't make many people happy about it. Too bad for the rallye game fans who will have to wait quite some time before they can find a worthy game. Overall, NBA 2K14 gained in rhythm, the dribbles are easier to manage and the defense system rocks. Add to the mix new crazy animations and you'll have a good picture of what NBA 2K is today. We can also enjoy the presence of Euroleague even if the 14 available teams (not including France) are restricted to exhibition matches, which brings some fresh air to the roster. It's quite sad because Platinum Games's title is one of the few to take the risk of actually using the console's gamepad in another way than displaying a loadout or a map (at least sometimes). The design is quite close to Viewtiful Joe and is one of the strong points of the games, but here too, the limited power of Nintendo's console and the light work done to graphics from the Japanese studio are seriously holding back the potential of the artistic lead.
