Ensemble Studio wanted to make a Real Time Strategy game for Halo fans. We can tell you that they succeeded. The controls are as simple as riding a bike. Once you get to know the basic controls you just keep on going. For hardcore RTS players this game might be to easy and option wise the game is very restricted. Nevertheless, we have had a great time playing this game and love to play it a little bit more online.- InsideGamer.nl

This is the best Total War game thanks to all the little tweaks. Sometimes little differences make a good game great. The battles ask of you that you think more about your actions and managing your empire never was easier. The sea battles are fun to watch, but are a little hard to control. Nevertheless, Empire: Total War is a game that can make you forget about the time.- InsideGamer.nl

We love H.A.W.X. and we hate H.A.W.X. For every good thing there is something bad. We’ve played it for a long time, but never got really excited. Collecting experience points and unlocking stuff is cool, but the gameplay gets repetitive. H.A.W.X. looks really good, but has a bad storyline. The game is good, but at the same time disappointing.- InsideGamer.nl

Sonic and the Black Knight is the perfect game to break your arm. The only thing you do is sweeping around the Wiimote, which is really boring. We could say "better luck next time", but to be honest: We don’t believe in a good Sonic-game anymore.- InsideGamer.nl

Family Ski & Snowboard doesn’t change a lot of the basics of its predecessor. The addition of the snowboard is fun, though it doesn’t offer anything new gameplay wise. The graphics are still quite weak and the game doesn’t offer a lot of content. Luckily the gameplay slightly makes up for all this and, even though there are some Wiimote detection flaws, prevents the game from failing altogether.- InsideGamer.nl

The frase ‘Hi, I'm Wolle! Watch me!’ is heard at the dramatic start of Stoked. Luckily the game gets better because of the diversity and difficulty. Some tricks may go wrong, but with a little faith in your self, you can become king of the hill. Unfortunately you are being confronted with the physics and graphics, that aren’t that great. Despite of that Stoked stays a entertaining game.- InsideGamer.nl

Star Ocean: The Last Hope is a pretty good RPG. It has an interesting story, strong characters and there is a lot of room for exploration. Besides that, it has a very good fighting system. The downfall is the slow pace of the story, but that shouldn't stop you from buying it!- InsideGamer.nl

EndWar is also a good game on the PC. The game looks good, the controls work as you would expect and it is fun to play. We also want to give credits to Ubisoft to do something original. However, we give the PC-version a lower grade then we did with the console-version. There are simply more RTS-games on the PC and a lot of them are better then EndWar.- InsideGamer.nl

Shellshock 2 looks like it’s been stuck in time. Everybody nowadays wants to play games with great controls, fantastic graphics and a lovely story. All of these elements are missing in is this game. The stylish presentation of Blue Dragon Plus cannot hide the fact that the game is disappointing. Especially the stupid movement patterns of your characters are terribly frustrating and turn the fighting into a chore. An imprecise control scheme makes tactical fighting almost impossible, causing Blue Dragon Plus to be a mediocre game experience.- InsideGamer.nl

This game really blew us away. From the tons of missions to the fantastic story, the game doesn’t disappoint. One might say that fighting over and over again feels a little bit boring, but we can’t get enough of it. The fights are intense and will challenge you to think about your actions. One wrong decision and you might lose the war.- InsideGamer.nl

The debut of SimBin on the Xbox 360 isn’t that great. The game offers many different remodeling options for your car. You can make it go faster, be stronger and better. But unlike the hit of Kanye West this game isn’t bigger, better or faster. The options are all that there is. Of course is it possible to race on different tracks and change cars, but what else is new. If you really want a good racing game, then this is not the game for you. Race Pro looks like a pro, but handles like a newborn baby that is still eager to learn a lot.- InsideGamer.nl

The Lost and Damned is a great expansion for the Grand Theft Auto-series. The setting of the game is enjoyable; the same goes for the city. The city is still a great and beautiful place to cruise through. When you are getting bored rolling down the same street over and over again, you’ll find that the story in the DLC is pretty interesting. Although some parts of the story don’t fill-in the blank spots, it is still a great game that keeps you almost ten hours of the real streets.- InsideGamer.nl

This remake of the fifth part of the Dragon Quest series is a game which does what’s it’s supposed to do. It is a good game, but it could have been a lot better. The battle system works and the training of monsters is also very recognizable. Nevertheless, you still get the feeling it could have been more innovative. We do like the story, because it keeps you going. Whenever you feel like putting down your DS, you still want to know what is going to happen next. Dragon Quest isn’t as good as Chrono Trigger, but it’s still a fun game to play.- InsideGamer.nl

Two years ago I wrote I hoped the developers would make a successor to LocoRoco more challenging. It appears they haven’t heard my calls. The game still possesses the same charm and cuteness, especially for people who missed out on the first installment in the series, and the soundtrack will make anyone smile. LocoRoco 2 gets repetitive in the long run though, and adds very little to the original game.- InsideGamer.nl

X-Blades starts like a real great game. There’s a girl and she cuts everyone open with her sword. How much can you get? Not much! SimAnimals is EA's entertaining and uncomplicated answer tot Rare's Viva Piñata, made for those who aren't in the hardcore gaming scene and are looking for a pick-up-and-play game. Lips isn’t the SingStar-killer it could have been. The game offers some original and new gameplay-options, which are fun to some degree, but ultimately lacks the polish to make it a worthy competitor for its equivalent on the PlayStation 3. This game doesn’t only have a ridiculous long title, its gameplay is also quite ridiculous. Despite some decent visuals and audio, the game just isn’t fun to play. The developers clearly need to start putting some effort in their future Pokémon-products, because that’s what the fans deserve.- InsideGamer.nl

Ubisoft has succeeded in creating the ultimate Naruto-game. The Broken Bond builds upon the foundation of the first game, and retains the open world and strong audiovisual presentation. Story wise the game is both more intense and lengthy then its predecessor, making The Broken Bond the best Naruto-game to date.- InsideGamer.nl

Gears of War 2 is one big roller coaster ride full of impressive moments. When the ride ends, there’s still the vast array of multiplayer possibilities to be discovered. The core gameplay of Gears of War remains intact, and some minor bugs I encountered lower the score a little bit, but don’t let that keep you away of this shining masterpiece.- InsideGamer.nl

This action game with horror influences made us scream at night. The music and spooky enemies has driven us to a point that we had to switch on all the lights. Once we weren’t scared anymore we saw some things that made are eyebrows go up. The protagonist, Alex, can fight and uses a gun. This takes away a lot of fun that we had during the last Silent Hill. So it is safe to say that it’s a good game, but doesn’t have the ‘wow’ factor.- InsideGamer.nl

Exit still stands out as the unique puzzle-game it was on the PlayStation Portable, but escaping from all kinds of hazards is a lot less appealing with the sketchy and frustrating control system on the Nintendo DS. The amount of fun you’re gonna have with Mr. Escape depends on the height of your own boiling point.- InsideGamer.nl

Resistance 2 is a worthy successor. The single-player-campaign is action packed and the game contains more than enough different weapons, as we’ve come to expect from Insomniac. Resistance 2 lacks in the story department and is visually unimpressive, but makes up for it in terms of content. The online multiplayer can accommodate up to sixty players, and, together with the online co-op mode with parallel storyline, guarantees more than enough gameplay to keep you warm until Christmas.- InsideGamer.nl

Origins is one of the best Nintendo DS-games of the year, and both appealing to fans of and newcomers to the Dragon Ball-universe. It’s got a good story, great humour, plenty of action, and some nice visuals to keep you coming back for more. My only gripe with it is the at times not so precise control system, and lack of co-op mode, which could’ve turned this game into an instant Kamehameha.- InsideGamer.nl

LittleBigPlanet is the culmination of every aspect ever associated with the term ‘next-gen’. The game revolves around fun, but also impresses from both an artistic and a technological point of view. The endless possibilities it offers in terms of playing and creating, mixed with the cute Sackboys and ultra-hip overall look, turn LittleBigPlanet into what could very well be a milestone in gaming history.- InsideGamer.nl

Spending time on playing Tornado has been very unrewarding for me. Even after finishing the game, I didn’t feel like I had accomplished anything. To me, it felt more like a warmed up glass of beer on a hot summer day. Tornado simply doesn’t meet the demands of a videogame in the year 2008, so my advice to you is this: let this game blow over, and wait for something else.- InsideGamer.nl

World Tour offers a ton of great additions to the Guitar Hero series. The GHstudio and Create-a-Rockstar mode are a real treat, together with all the minor improvements made to the key concept of the game. It’s even better than its main competitor Rock Band 2, because of the great track list, and the fact that players are given the chance to actually create music to a certain level.- InsideGamer.nl

It’s hard pointing out why this game is good or bad. This is because the last Naruto game is similar in so many ways to the previous one. It still works great and looks lovely, but we’re missing new elements. It’s like seeing a great movie over and over again. So the question is: how many times do you usually want to watch the same movie again?- InsideGamer.nl

Rock Band 2 is a great follow-up to an already good game. The improved track list and World Tour mode, and the implementation of some interesting new options make for a great sequel.- InsideGamer.nl

Sam & Max: Season One is a game that, from a technological perspective, just won’t do anymore. The game falters, wavers, stutters, and even crashes on occasions. It’s easy to overlook those shortcomings though, because some of the episodes are hands down hilarious, the puzzles are fun, and the game packs a large cast of comical characters. Nostalgia’s just around the corner, because Sam & Max remind once again us of the good old days.- InsideGamer.nl

Konami might stand at the berth of the music genre with games like Beatmania, DDR and Guitar Freaks, but Rock Revolution fails in almost all the aspects that make the Rock Band and Guitar Hero franchises so good. It just doesn’t play as well, has fewer options and the soundtrack is mediocre at best. This game just doesn’t cut it with the franchises it desperately tries to be.- InsideGamer.nl

Fans of the first Spectrobes game will probably be shocked when reading this, but Beyond the Portals is a repetitive game with a truly uninspiring story, full off monotone battles. The decent visuals don’t make up for the boring and frustrating gameplay, which will probably only appeal to the hardest of hardcore Spectrobes fans out there.- InsideGamer.nl

Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility is not the right game for everyone and there are a lot of mistakes that make the game less fun. Loading screens, the missing of voice-overs, repeating gameplay and controls that aren’t that great are examples of that. There is a lot to do on Waffle Island, maybe for weeks or even months!- InsideGamer.nl

Unsolved Crimes offers some original and interesting cases to be solved, but hardly manages to rise above its everlasting mediocrity. Luckily, Nintendo DS-owners have a lot of great alternatives at hand to actually have some fun solving crimes, like the beautifully crafted Professor Layton.- InsideGamer.nl

Kirby Super Star Ultra is a nice collection of adventures from the pink superstar. There is just not much to say about the platform action in the game. The difficulty setting is – certainly for a Kirby game – nicely picked and the gameplay is not the same trick in every adventure. Eventually is the core of the game the same as you aspect, you have to save Kirby by getting him through the levels. Kirby’s adventures are entertaining but not Super or Ultra as it says in the title.- InsideGamer.nl

The customizing of your own Mech, the good looks, the amount of weaponry, and decent story are all positive features of an average installment in the Armored Core-series. The missions and bland surroundings get repetitive after a while, and the fact that nobody plays the game online is a real letdown. All in all, Armored Core for Answer breathes mediocrity.- InsideGamer.nl
