    Rock Band 2
    Rock Band 2 is a great follow-up to an already good game. The improved track list and World Tour mode, and the implementation of some interesting new options make for a great sequel.

    Mystery Case Files: MillionHeir
    Missing persons isn’t something to joke about, but it makes for great games. Especially when the game controls well and the presentation is spot on. This is the case for Mystery Case Files: Millionheir. The game might be boring at one point, because of the lack of innovative elements, but we can assure you that solving a crime has never been such a lovely thing to do.

    Spore Galactic Adventures
    Spore: Galactic Adventures changes the gameplay of the original, but didn’t fulfill all his promises. Therefore it will get boring after a few hours, which is an absolute shame.

    Tales of Vesperia
    Tales of Vesperia is a good mix of action-packed fighting, a nice story and accessible gameplay. However, the problem is that the game has scarcely any new gameplay elements compared to (for instance) Tales of Symphonia. Newbies will like Tales of Versperia very much, but people who’ve played Tales of Symphonia need to ask themselves whether they want to go on a tour of reminiscence. Even when it is a very pleasant tour.

    Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice
    Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice is a very decent RPG for everyone with a shitload of time on his hands. The deep and tactical turnbased gameplay can give players up to a hundred hours of strategic battles and bizarre humor. The only major downfall is the graphical quality, or lack thereof. Though Disgaea 3 doesn’t offer completely new content, it is definitely worth your time.

    Harvest Moon DS: Island of Happiness
    Island of Happiness is way too slow for a game on the Nintendo DS. Entering the world of Harvest Moon and staying there for hours can be very unrewarding and not useful at all, while handheld-games should be playable in short intervals. Also, the fun of casual farming is spoiled by the clunky controls.

    Order Up!
    Order up! offers both variation in gameplay, as well as interesting use of the Wii-Mote. The game is challenging, and thus entertaining for a while. It proves that casual games can be fun, albeit for a certain amount of time.

    Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon
    Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo’s Dungeon is a welcome addition to the poor line-up of games on the Wii. Despite the rather poor visual presentation and almost infantile voice acting, the game is fun, even for more experienced players. The dungeons are exciting and challenging to play through, and the story is both interesting and lengthy enough to keep you playing.

    Lost in Blue 3
    Lost in Blue 3 is a far from exciting game. It’s not challenging in any way, the minimalistic level design is awful, the mission objectives are unclear, the constant retrieving of water is both boring and frustrating.. I always thought getting stranded on a deserted island was more fun.

    Professor Layton and the Curious Village
    Professor Layton said it himself: “Critical thinking is the key to success.” In what is probably the biggest surprise of the year, Professor Layton offers a cast of memorable characters, stylish visuals, and of course more than enough challenging puzzles to keep your brain bending for a long long time.

    Trauma Center: New Blood
    Trauma Center: New Blood is an entertaining game with a fun and efficient control system. The combination of actual medical work and a more spiritual view works, although the ‘healing touch’ is perhaps a bit far-fetched. Operating on patients hasn’t changed much since the last game, but is entertaining and challenging, both alone and in co-op. Unfortunately, the storyline is less impressive, despite some good voice acting.

    Fairytale Fights
    The game has a unique graphic style and gives you the possibility to kill cute creatures in a brutal way. With more players on the couch the game comes to its full potential, but at the same time it could be very chaotic on the screen. The biggest downfall is that the gameplay is mostly the same throughout the game and there aren’t many checkpoints. But if you take your time to glide on a massive pile of blood, all will be quickly forgotten.
