For the hardcore fans of the franchise that just wanted a 1:1 remake of the original without anything added or removed, Gothic Remake is a dream come true. A desperate search through a quarantined city quickly spirals into a journey filled with unsettling discoveries and difficult truths. War's journey remains one of the strongest action-adventure experiences of its generation, combining satisfying combat, rewarding exploration, and memorable dungeon design. Its post-apocalyptic world is packed with secrets, powerful enemies, and a story that keeps pushing you toward answers. Bluey’s Quest for the Gold Pen is ultimately a delightful sandbox that treats its license with genuine respect. It introduces younger gamers to classic adventure mechanics through a creative, heartfelt lens. While the lack of true couch co‑op is a real head‑scratcher and the pacing may feel slow for older players, its warm narrative and imaginative levels make it a standout family title for the school holidays, but be aware that it lacks substantial voice acting and, on PS5, we encountered several crashes.- Impulsegamer

Luna Abyss drops you into a mysterious megastructure carved into a blood red moon, where you play as a prisoner forced into dangerous exploration. As you descend deeper, the story slowly reveals a hidden truth behind the mission, the world’s past, and the strange forces that seem to guide everything from the shadows. It blends shooting, movement, and exploration into a steady journey that focuses more on atmosphere and discovery than nonstop combat.- Impulsegamer

Directive 8020 is easily the best entry in The Dark Pictures anthology thus far. Featuring a solid script, strong performances, and new stealth sections that give your actions even more weight while ratcheting up the tension, it’s easy to recommend Directive 8020 to both returning fans of the series and newcomers alike. Yoshi and the Mysterious Book turns exploration into the main focus, putting you inside a living storybook where every page reacts to your curiosity. Overall I think Nitro Gen Omega is going to click deeply with a small group of players. Others who dip their toes in will probably enjoy the novelty before bouncing off to something else. If you choose to spend your time here, please consider that this is definitely not Into the Breach meets anime. It does not feel like combat chess (yet), and the similarity of each combat encounter over time slowly erodes the beautiful graphic art style. Keep an eye out, maybe DESTINYbit will introduce a more varied roster of combat scenes or rebalance enemy encounters in a way that deepens strategy.- Impulsegamer

For the most part this is a cosy laid back game. There’s no real threat in it (you can get injured but even falling from a decent height is unlikely to kill you… you have to try really hard to do any real damage). I love the idea of being able to use renewable resources, sun, wind, rain etc. The recycling mechanic could have been better implemented and fast travel would be a welcome addition… but overall it’s a decent bit of fun and you can even adopt a dog (though once you do… it’s with you for the rest of the game… even if you tell it to stay somewhere, it will inevitably end up by your side again). Good for those who like gentle gaming.- Impulsegamer

The use of iterations of yourself to help solve problems is a nice mechanic… watching yourself go and perform a task in one location so you can complete the task in another is an interesting dynamic… just don’t think too much on the philosophy underlying “temporary” selves and what their creation and removal might mean on a moral/ethical level. There are some quirks with the game that might cause more irritation than others… but overall it’s a fun experience and once you get past some of the early dialogue it’s not too bad to listen to the story too.- Impulsegamer

Invincible Vs is a brutal, crunchy, yet surprisingly fast-paced, 3v3 fighter that, mechanically at least, is possibly the closest thing we’ll see to a new Killer Instinct. It’s a superbly animated, well-balanced brawler that hits that sweet spot of being easy to pick up but difficult to master. Though the single player is a little light, there are still plenty of extras for dedicated players to unlock, and a solid online multiplayer mode replete with well-implemented rollback netcode. With 18 characters to choose from at launch and more on the way (add Battle Pope, you cowards!), fans of the source material, or just a good punch-up online, will find plenty to love about Invincible Vs.- Impulsegamer

Forza Horizon 6 may not reinvent the wheel, but I’m not sure it needed to. Playground Games has successfully honed the formula to such a fine point that you know exactly what you’re signing up for, and more importantly, you’re pretty much guaranteed a good time. Japan is easily one of the best settings for the series thus far, and even though the characters and writing that wrap around Forza’s latest festival adventure is as groanworthy as it ever was, the racing, atmosphere, killer soundtrack, overwhelming amounts of things to do, and general sense of fun make for one of the best simcade racing games I’ve played since the last one.- Impulsegamer

If you only own a Nintendo Switch 2, Indiana Jones And The Great Circle is an absolutely must-have. Is it worth buying a second time if you already own the Xbox Series X or PS5 version? Not really, but if you want it to be an excuse to play the entire adventure again, then nobody should blame you for doing so. The Switch 2 version running at 30 frames per second will deflate some, but when you consider the addition of gyroscope functionality, the trade-off is worth it. Overall, Indiana Jones And The Great Circle on Switch 2 is a great Switch 2 game, even if it might be a harder sell for those who've already played it.- Impulsegamer

Scar-Lead Salvation is a third-person roguelike shooter where you play as Willow, an amnesiac soldier trapped in a looping military facility filled with repetitive rooms, basic enemies, and a sarcastic AI guiding you through it all. While it has ideas like weapon upgrades, bullet hell dodging, and roguelike progression, the execution feels shallow, overly repetitive, and undercooked, making the experience wear thin quickly. The Shore: Enhanced Edition delivers a visually striking and atmospheric take on Lovecraftian horror, supported by strong music design and an intriguing premise. The Shadow Update builds on what already works and expands it in ways that feel thoughtful and consistent. The new characters introduce fresh playstyles, the ball types open up a huge range of combinations, and the added passives and building give you more control over how everything comes together. It’s the kind of update that makes you wonder how the game felt before it existed. Tamadotchi Life: Living the Dream might not be the bold reinvention some fans hoped for, but it doesn’t need to be to recapture the series’ charm. Even with its missing legacy features and a few creative tools that don’t quite hit the mark, it remains a wonderfully daft, personality‑driven sim that thrives on the unexpected. Perhaps what’s most important, though, is that even after spending a serious amount of time with Living the Dream, it remained funny. It’s the kind of game you dip into for ten minutes and suddenly find yourself grinning at a Mii having a meltdown or, well, trying to stop a Mii from making an ill-timed proposal to someone that’s just not that into them. If you’re willing to embrace its quirks and forgive its limitations, Living the Dream is a welcome, delightfully weird return to one of Nintendo’s most eccentric worlds, and an even better introduction to those yet to familiarise themselves with the Tamadotchi universe.- Impulsegamer

Despite its many foibles, I still found it hard to put Starfield down. It’s a Bethesda game like no other, in that it’s actually best experienced by sticking to the main path rather than picking a direction and seeing what trouble you get into. The fragmentation of its narrative and structure over dozens of small maps robs it of the same spirit of manifest destiny that Fallout and, to a lesser extent, The Elder Scrolls. You’re not drawn to towers in the distance, to dragons on the horizon; it’s more a case of I wonder what Earth is like now, or if that ship in the distance will open fire on me, and is there anything worth stealing in its hull? It’s this fractious nature and the sheer drudgery of space travel that make it a tough sell to even fans of other Bethesda RPGs. But if you’re a sucker for secret sects and a cosmological mystery, chances are Starfield will be a trip into the bleak emptiness of space you’ll want to take.- Impulsegamer

Super Meat Boy 3D is a game where the old Jurassic Park adage rings true: the devs were so preoccupied with whether they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should. It’s enjoyable enough at times, but it lacks the level of reinvention necessary for Meat Boy to make a meaningful leap to 3D. Instead, playing it constantly feels slightly off, thanks to the 3D, which, rather than building on the experience, comes across as more of a gimmick that diminishes the otherwise tough but fair principles that made its predecessor a classic.- Impulsegamer

I would strongly recommend IF you are already familiar with Dovetail's previous rail simulators - but only cautiously recommend if you are a Thomas & Friends fan looking for a more traditional gameplay mechanics.- Impulsegamer

If you've the time and patience for a game that's almost two and a half decades old in remastered form, then you can do a lot worse than Legacy of Kain: Defiance. Defiance is a throwback to the simpler days of action adventure games that some may struggle to tolerate in this day and age, but if you grew up playing it and want to schedule a revisit all these years later, then go right ahead. If you demand more from your action adventures, you certainly won't find anything here that rivals the modern bigwigs of the genre, but ultimately you will still find this remaster to be worth several hours of your time.- Impulsegamer

MLB The Show 26 isn’t a dramatic overhaul but it is a step in the right direction. Its improvements to data presentation, career progression, defensive realism and strategic depth make it a richer and more satisfying entry. Newcomers and players who skipped last year’s release will find plenty to enjoy, while long-time fans will appreciate the refinements that keep the franchise comfortably ahead of its rivals. Solid!- Impulsegamer

EMOTIONLESS: The Last Ticket is a slow-paced psychological horror experience set in a surreal, abandoned amusement park where you search for answers about your missing father. It focuses heavily on exploration, atmosphere, and environmental storytelling, though its narrative can feel unclear and its gameplay lacks tension. While strong visuals and sound design help carry the experience, technical issues and repetitive design choices keep it from fully delivering on its potential.- Impulsegamer

Hunt the Night is a dark fantasy action-RPG where you play as Vesper, a skilled Stalker fighting to reclaim a world overrun by monsters. You explore interconnected environments, solve light puzzles, and battle both standard enemies and challenging bosses using a mix of melee and ranged attacks. The game combines fast-paced combat with atmospheric pixel art and a haunting soundtrack to create a tense, immersive experience.- Impulsegamer

Star Wars: Dark Forces Remaster brings a classic 90s shooter back with smoother performance, updated visuals, and modern controls while staying true to its original design. You play as Kyle Katarn, tackling mission-based levels filled with exploration, combat, and light puzzle solving against the Empire. While some older mechanics can feel dated, the core gameplay and Star Wars atmosphere still make it an enjoyable experience.- Impulsegamer

Overall Shadow Tactics Blades of the Shogun and Shadow Tactics: Aiko’s Choice are extremely well done ports of the 2016 and 2021 originals with plenty of content and smooth gameplay this is one game that has ported very well to the Nintendo Switch 2. Both games are available together in a bundle or can be bought separately if you want to try one before you jump into both. Do expect a hardcore experience but if you feel up to the challenge then you can not go wrong with either of these two games.- Impulsegamer

RAGER blends rhythm gameplay with fast paced melee combat to create a VR experience that feels energetic and physically engaging. While the campaign is surprisingly short, the combat mechanics, weapon variety, and freestyle options make it easy to keep coming back for more sessions. It may still have room to grow, but its style, music, and satisfying gameplay make it a strong addition to the VR rhythm genre.- Impulsegamer

Unsealed: The Mare is a tense, task-driven horror experience that thrives on constant pressure and smart resource management. Its simple structure is elevated by strong sound design, effective lighting, and mechanics that keep each run feeling unpredictable. While it can feel repetitive and a bit short, it delivers a consistently engaging and genuinely unsettling experience.- Impulsegamer

Project Songbird is a psychological horror experience that blends exploration with tense dreamlike encounters in the Appalachian wilderness. As a struggling musician retreats to a remote cabin to rediscover their creativity, strange visions and hostile manifestations begin to blur the line between reality and memory. While a few experimental storytelling choices and pacing issues hold it back at times, the strong atmosphere, voice acting, and unique setting make it a memorable entry in narrative driven horror.- Impulsegamer

Despite some issues with controls (and they are pretty massive issues), it’s worth noting that I still felt engaged enough to persist and, in fact, completed the game. It’s also worth noting that it seems the developer is still actively working on improvements (and it’s not a big production house… just one person). With a few tweaks it could be quite polished and would be a lovely “chill” gaming experience. Even with the issues, I still think it is highly worth picking up a copy (it’s quite reasonably priced).- Impulsegamer

There are some genuinely standout moments, but I can't help but look back at the likes of Left 4 Dead and just wish Toxic Commando had that same level of charm. It's just missing something—a little personality—a hook, the kind that made Left 4 Dead endlessly replayable.- Impulsegamer

Sancticide feels like it has potential that has yet to be fully realised. If you enjoyed Morrowind or Skyrim style combat, and have the same nostalgia for Diablo 2 that I do, you'll probably still have a good time (once the bugs are ironed out).- Impulsegamer

Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake is an incredibly atmospheric and legitimately unsettling experience brought low by clunky, often infuriating combat and trial-and-error stealth sections. As such, it’s difficult to recommend to anyone but existing fans of the series. However, for those who can push through its more irksome elements, there’s a fantastically macabre tale that will haunt you long after the credits roll.- Impulsegamer

So no, WWE 2K26 isn't the Best in the World, but it still does a mighty fine job, sorta like when Randy Orton faced Edge in "The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever" at Backlash 2020, it wasn't the greatest wrestling match, but it was very good-and so to is WWE 2K26.- Impulsegamer
