I really enjoyed my time playing Epyka. The puzzles are creative, the characters are amusing, and the story is interesting even though it’s a little “book by numbers”. I really wish I had more time in this world. Some puzzles felt too short; it was like right when I understood what I was doing, the puzzle was over. If there were ever a sequel to Epyka, I would be looking forward to how the mechanics and gameplay design might expand. Even if the game is a bit on the shorter side, Epyka is debuting at only $10, so you are getting a lot more bang for your buck here in this virtual escapade of uncovering the mysteries of the world and yourself.

All in all, it’s easy to say it’s the best fitness boxing game yet. It might not do anything spectacular or innovative– it’d be fun to have an opponent to spar with, or even a punching bag to see bounce off each hit– but it gets a sweat up and your heart pumping. It’s boxing and it’ll keep you fit, simple as that.

Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition is a surprisingly enjoyable game with satisfying combat mechanics and intriguing puzzles. With all enhancements released so far, the title looks and works well – even by today’s standards. If you haven’t played it before, the free current-gen upgrade gives you a good chance to do so. At the same time, if you’ve already played Darksiders II, I wonder if 4K and improved shadows are enough to make you revisit the game. It’s up to you, of course; but if you ask me, in this case I’d try something more recent.

There are certainly some lovely elements here. The visuals are a nice change from a lot of what is out there. The gameplay swings between simple enough for people new to the genre to get into and arguably quite repetitive (fortunately there is a fast forward option for battles… so you can use your specialty cards then set to max speed until you can use them again). Some of the mechanics are a bit annoying (I hate being able to take a city/town, only to have it in enemy hands at the start of the next story element… if you knew it was going to be in enemy hands at the start of the next story segment… don’t let me take it beforehand). It’s not super expensive so it could be a good option for those wanting to get into strategy gaming… but hardened gamers might find it too simplistic or even frustrating at times.

It’s fun enough and the visuals are lovely. If you want to feel like you are playing an old retro Rugrats game, go with the 8-bit option… otherwise for a more cartoon feel stick with HD. Don’t expect a long game (and therefore maybe wait for a sale)… but there’s a touch of nostalgia to be had (if there was voice then it would have hit the feels more though). The uncomplicated and unpressured nature the game provides make this an easy pick up for anyone who may be interested in a firefighting adventure. The quippy dialogue, assorted levels, compelling usage of firefighter tools, and rapid action serves up a quality experience. While some may prefer the previous art style from the original game, the comic book aesthetic looks great and contributes more to the game’s attitude. The game lacks much replay value with undesirable unlockables and there are some bugs that may set you a good way back into a level making you repeat objectives over again, but what is here is a gratifying time that will ignite your heart with a burning passion to keep playing and become a hero!

Among Ashes is a gem of a game. The game’s novelty and harmony of its ideas and the way it continues these concepts are incredibly exceptional. A horror game within a horror game is imaginative and manufactures an interesting space to play in. Graphical throwbacks and gripping sound design increases your desire to find out what happened to the creator of this game you are playing. The pacing of the game and its horror elements are flawless and work remarkably together, but with how well the game is able to showcase its purpose, I can only wish that there was more of it. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is the best videogame adaptation of the storied film series ever committed to console (and PC). I never thought anything would top The Fate of Atlantis but here we are. Not only does it nail the look, feel, and tone of the movies, but it lets players inhabit the character of Indiana Jones in an almost palatable way. This would be for naught though if it wasn’t backed up by a fantastic, engaging narrative and top-tier stealth action gameplay that is as tense as it is thrilling. Along with the Arkham games, in my opinion, Indiana Jones and The Great Circle are destined to be feverishly pointed at for decades as an example of how to do video game adaptations right.

Is Planet Coaster 2 going to replace the original as my go-to park builder just yet? No, but it almost definitely will in the future. It’s early days, and to discredit the work that Frontier has put into Planet Coaster 2 would do them a huge disservice – there simply aren’t any other studios out there that push out such quality games. It’s still a way off becoming the ultimate theme park builder, but if other Frontier titles are to go by, give it a little time (and a little polish) and Planet Coaster 2 will undoubtedly be the sandbox my dreams.

It makes sense then, why one aspect of the game is far better than the rest– the visual design, as he’s a visual designer. But it means that every other aspect is playing catchup while he learns them from scratch. The result is a game that would be better as set of postcards– the game looks deceptively cool from the Steam Store page– but if Dread Delusion is great for anything, it’s great for the game Lovely Hellplace will make next. G.I.JOE: Wrath of the Cobra is a competent, if unremarkable beat 'em up that doesn't stand out in anyway beyond the attached IP. Let down by repetitive combat and lacklustre enemy variety.

Kvark is a hidden gem of a classic shooter that you should not miss. It is simple but hard to progress which has given the game a unique taste and separates it from just another clone of Half-Life. However, it won’t be a memorable game that you will talk about for the rest of your life.

Cryptmaster is a unique and engaging dungeon crawler with a quirky sense of humour and some very clever ideas. Though it may be a bit too ponderous for some, and action junkies should probably stay away, those with a passion for linguistics who love a good brain teaser or a good belly laugh should certainly check it out.

Those with a mind for psychology might have questioned why I mentioned Jung in regard to the Ego when the (in)famous Freud introduced the concept… well Jung expanded on it and developed the notion of the collective unconscious and in a way Ctrl Alt Ego is a space station of “minds” just waiting to be connected. If you like puzzle games, a bit of humour with your gaming or just something that is a bit different then grab a copy. It’s quirky and gives you flexibility to play many different ways… for the price there’s a decent bit of replay value. Focus your attention on the game and inhabit it now.

A simple and enjoyable RPG that works great on Steam Deck. The game hides within an enchanted forest so deep that almost no one has heard of it. It's a pity – hopefully the title's console release will change anything about this.

If you want a fun little challenge, levels that are different each time you play and the ability to use your environment to your advantage more than you might expect… this might be for you. It’s a pretty decent price and whilst it can be quite grueling at times… the chance experiences of intentionally or accidentally beating situations means there’s a lot of value in replaying. A nice little game to have in your collection.

While it doesn't introduce significant new content or a performance boost, it offers a polished experience worth exploring, especially for newcomers.

The Karate Kid: Street Rumble is a well-crafted and enjoyable adaptation that fans of the movies and Cobra Kai TV series are bound to enjoy thanks to the clever ways that developer Odaclick, has managed to translate scenes from the films into fab set pieces and boss battles. For everyone else though, it’s a fun but basic belt brawler that’s fun while it lasts but doesn’t have much to draw you back once Johnny has hit the mat for the final time.

Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns is a fun addition to the steller base game. However, it’s worth bearing in mind that your mileage with it will vary wildly. If you’re just after a little more story you could be done with Khaos Reigns in a couple of hours. Those looking for new characters to master, especially fans of a certain trio of ninjas will certainly get much more out of the update.

Funko Fusion might be tailored to Pop! aficionados but anyone who enjoys these franchises or the LEGO type games may get a kick out of this title. There’s also some laugh out loud moments in all this craziness and hopefully 10:10 Games will add additional DLC content and hopefully more franchises will allow their copyrights to be part of this world. DC vs Marvel? That would be amazing!
