I was really afraid that playing World of Goo 2 will immediately make my mind think "this is not the same game". But it did not happen. What's more I became hooked almost immediately. I can't remember when I had so much pure joy when playing a game without being explicitly told what to do. An almost perfect sequel.

World of Goo 2 is the perfect puzzle game on Nintendo Switch to enjoy both solo and with a partner, offering very entertaining and complex challenges by playing with physics and structures so you can experience the brilliance of the Tomorrow Corporation universe.

The game offers a quality experience with an elaborate story that plays with time and space and requires the player to think. Although the price of €26.99 is higher than expected for an indie game, the quality and length somehow make up for it. The game has simple and intuitive controls, but unclear instructions can slow down progress. The aesthetics and music stay true to the original game, while maintaining a timeless and appealing design.

World of Goo 2 is a fantastic sequel to a stone-cold classic. The new focus on liquids feels right at home, and the utterly bizarre fourth chapter elevates the experience to one of considerable excellence. It’s a shame that it's somewhat let down by limited control options, occasionally wobbly performance, and some underutilised mechanics, but its core is so solid, we can’t help but recommend it regardless.

Sixteen years after the release of its predecessor, the new World of Goo 2 remains remarkably creative. With a solid foundation, the game has successfully introduced intricate new mechanics. The addition of sticky liquids and changes in the narrative enhance the overall experience, making the game even more impressive.

It’s been a long wait for a World Of Goo sequel and the only real complaint with this amusingly inventive follow-up is that there’s not more of it.

There is untapped potential here, there is some repetition and although parts are charming, I can't really say that I feel particularly entertained after a few hours of World of Goo 2, as if anything it feels a bit old.
