Suit up and ship out to a far-off front as a Trooper in the Deep Space Vanguard, an elite Special Forces group within the Mobile Infantry. It's up to squads like yours to battle against hundreds of bloodthirsty insectoid aliens and take back fallen colonies for the Federation.
As soon as the dropship hits dirt, your trusty Morita Assault Rifle and fellow Deep Space Vanguard Troopers are all that will keep you alive while exploring the hostile surface of the planet Valaka.

Starship Troopers: Extermination is an example of how a game has potential to be good. As it stands, it still needs some balance and polish to its core. But aside from that, it shines when it works well. The real joy comes from playing with friends, standing fast against obscene amounts of bugs. It made lack the wit and satire of the film, but for an ambitious mutiplayer shooter, it may not eclipse Helldivers 2 or Space Marine, but it will stand on its own. Let's hope time is kind to this one.

Starship Troopers: Extermination may share similarities with Helldivers, but it absolutely does enough to distinguish itself and I think I prefer it. With 16 players and massive hordes of Arachnids, the sheer scope of chaos is both intimidating and enthralling. Building a base from scratch is straightforward and lots of fun, as is trying to keep the thing from toppling over.

Starship Troopers: Extermination finally brings an official game in the universe to modern platforms. An enjoyable shooter marred by a host of small issues that detract from the experience.

Played with friends, Starship Troopers: Extermination is an enjoyable enough time-killer, but it really lacks the polish and panache of its most immediate rivals.

Starship Troopers and its legacy persist in popular culture, being a cult film that is increasingly loved and applauded by viewers and a novel that is highly sought after by generations of readers. Unfortunately, this video game does not quite work and does not know how to take advantage of the interesting license and the controversial universe on which it claims to be based. As a result, we have a cooperative multiplayer action video game that tries to be original - and entertaining - but that pales greatly in comparison to other, much more notable options.

Starship Troopers: Extermination on console puts the rough in Roughnecks. Technical issues, poor crossplay implementation, and frustratingly chaotic gameplay design leave much to be desired.

Good ideas and a strong license, but the transition to video game is not without pain.
