If you are after a game that requires you micromanage a train empire then this might be for you. If you want a game that lets you run a train empire without having to hold the hand of each of your engineers… maybe give it a miss.

It's a game of stats; it's a game of numbers, and lots of information. It also gives history and quotes from players and baseball personalities throughout the history of the game. If you have a passing interest in the game of baseball this series may not be for you. For those baseball fans, those real baseball fans, if you have not discovered this franchise yet, then you are in for a real treat indeed.

Call of the Sea is a first-person puzzle adventure set in 1934, where you play as Norah, a woman searching for her missing husband on a mysterious South Pacific island. The game blends environmental exploration with approachable puzzles, using journals, symbols, and artifacts to gradually unravel the island’s secrets. Its story mixes love, mystery, and Lovecraftian undertones, offering a short, but atmospheric experience that emphasizes mood and discovery over challenge.

A solid remaster of a slightly frosty survival horror shooter.

Badminton Time! is a lively and entertaining VR sports game that blends simulation, arcade action, and party-style fun, making it especially enjoyable with friends. While its movement and swing mechanics can be a bit clunky, its vibrant visuals, creative mini-games, and energetic atmosphere make it a worthwhile experience for casual and social players.

It’s fun enough and the visuals are lovely. If you want to feel like you are playing an old retro Rugrats game, go with the 8-bit option… otherwise for a more cartoon feel stick with HD. Don’t expect a long game (and therefore maybe wait for a sale)… but there’s a touch of nostalgia to be had (if there was voice then it would have hit the feels more though). Take it or leave it really… if you are a huge fan, grab it for your collection. If you enjoyed the show but prefer longer gaming experiences… maybe give it a miss.

A fun VR game that gravitates its focus on radiant out of this world superpowers

Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games on the 3DS is a collection of fun and some forgettable mini-games!

With so much good to build on, NHL 23 sadly remains mainly in place. Upgraded rosters, a few visual/audio tweaks and women's national teams are the only notable changes from last year.

So if you are after a dungeon crawler (or more correctly here a Tower climber) and you get your kicks from Serious Sam style play… then prepare to test your mettle as a Wizard to be, enter the Ziggurat and show them whose boss. If you are like me and find perma-death more a nuisance than a challenge then perhaps steer clear.

Nothing too flash but not bad for it’s price (wait for a steam discount to make it even more worthwhile). If you like pick up and play, casual games… this isn’t a bad one to add to your collection. If you are squeamish though… perhaps avoid… though it’s only digital carnage… dismemberment is common!

Sniper Elite V2 is very much worth a go. The game as the title implies has plenty of third person action going on here, with a good dose of sniping opportunities. The kill cam with the X-ray twist is novel but used too much can get actually old fast, used as a reward for a well-placed Sniper shot would have been better. This would have given the player that sense of reward and accomplishments. This does not make the game bad or a major let down in anyway. It is just an observation and my humble opinion.

A solid and relatively accomplished effort that’s more than worth a look for survival horror fans.

In the end, the Batman: Arkham VR experience is worth it more for the very hard core fans because it’s such a short romp and others may feel a little robbed.

Either a Dad simulator or a Pigeon murderer simulator... either way, it's fun.

In conclusion, Super Stardust Ultra VR transforms the previous game and gives the player a cockpit view that has been built especially for virtual reality. Although this mode does work, I did find the graphics a little dated and at times, a little jarring, especially the non-cockpit game modes.

A dying world of sand sets the stage for a challenging adventure that blends exploration with deliberate, skill-based combat. Progress comes from mastering layered systems and steadily building your character through discovery and experimentation. It’s a rough-edged but rewarding experience that grows more engaging the deeper you go.

Rock and roll with the indifferent, outcasted, and unwanted miscreants born from the dust! Words have power (literally) in this narrative based adventure across a broken country that houses unimaginable secrets. Even if the game suffers from poor design decisions and bad gameplay mechanics, there's no way to gaslight it's original take on the genre that expresses a sentiment no word can fully capture.

If it’s on special, it’s not bad for a quick pick up and play a round or two… but the random nature of the power cards and boosts and the ludicrously steep starting point for some levels, either via score or play space… means it can get frustrating quickly. I’m pretty near completing it and am quite sure I could with perseverance and more focused strategy… I’ve just lost all interest in doing so. If you like Balatro and think it would be interesting in a Scrabble setting, then I’d say grab a copy.

If you were a fan of the previous two seasons and enjoyed playing as Clementine then you may be slightly disappointed as she is not the main playable character, at least not in this episode. But if you are open to a new story, characters and a fresh take to the series then you should give this a go. New players to the series will also enjoy it as long as you are aware that it is more story driven and your choices will not have a huge effect on the outcome of the episode (so far).

Zombi on XBox One is a port and is a clunk port but still has a few moments to shine on this next-gen console

Funko Fusion might be tailored to Pop! aficionados but anyone who enjoys these franchises or the LEGO type games may get a kick out of this title. There’s also some laugh out loud moments in all this craziness and hopefully 10:10 Games will add additional DLC content and hopefully more franchises will allow their copyrights to be part of this world. DC vs Marvel? That would be amazing!

If you don't mind the sim-heavy frustrations related to the controls in Baby Steps, you'll enjoy Nate's adventure and all his gaffs and the game's brand of humour. Cutscenes lack much of a point besides making Nate seem insecure and feeble, but despite how memorable and amusing it tries to be-Baby Steps tests your resolve more than anything. There is a meaningful tale behind it all, but Baby Steps more often than not makes you feel sorry for Nate and the odds are always stacked against you-just like Nate. Give it a go then, but nobody should blame if you take one trip too many and just don't feel like continuing the repetitive trudge.

Not recommended… unless survival horror with a sexual horror twist is your thing.

Give this one a wait and see, or a miss entirely if you're unsure because while UFC features some worthwhile improvements, it's continuously swamped by the remnants of its archaic tendencies.

The Traveler’s Path is a must-buy for 3D casual-puzzle solving lovers. The price, mixed with the amount of content, is essentially one of the best bargains in the puzzle genre right now!

Pixel Ripped 1978 is a fun look back to a special time in the world of gaming that is as irreverent as it is entertaining.

One Piece fans might take away more enjoyment from an otherwise average adventure.

No Straight Roads succeeds in blending its unique art style and wonderful soundtrack with its gameplay mechanics. However, those same mechanics often face annoying issues that hinder the flow of combat.

Path of Fury - Episode 1: Tetsuo’s Tower is an action fighting VR game influenced by martial arts films. The cadence in which the game flows is impressive and the actual process of punching and pulling off these feats feels good. Odd problems with implementation in the spatial environments causing incorrect placing of you and the enemies can be disappointing, but when it is executed properly, you can clearly walk the path of fury.

Concrete Genie is creative and beautiful, but at the same time it is not all that spectacular. The story clearly tries to add an emotional extra layer to the painting arts, but it is all too predictable to really make an impact.

There is something to be said for a game that can truly be challenging, this is one such example of a game that most people will not be able to finish inside of a week, and likely even a month. The reward would come from the endurance and lateral thinking that this game would require in order to gain ground. In all fairness, this game delivers for those who truly seek this challenge, but the ‘chase’ is likely to be better than the ‘prize’ with respect to the story.

In conclusion, Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters is a game that works but doesn't try to better itself.

Tales of Zestiria is not bad nor is it broken but it does not offer the wonder that I once found in JRPGs.

Shockman 3 ultimately feels like a classic run-and-gun game where the hero has forgotten to pack their pistol. Though hacking and slashing through hordes of foes is always fun, and it certainly has that high-octane arcade charm that most PC Engine games have even to this day. It’s hard to recommend to all but PC Engine enthusiasts and genre die-hards due to its punishing platforming and brutal boss fights.

I don’t mind the game. I’m a big fan of the more traditional D&D games, but I also don’t mind a more brainless “mash keys and progress” type game and this arguably falls far more in that latter category. If you like a bit of Dungeon delving and aren’t too fussed about character details then this could be a good choice. If you really want page after page of stats and character story then this will probably leave you wanting.

If all you're looking for is wholesome family fun, Looney Tunes: Whacky World of Sports is a pleasant and well-meaning sports title.

Monster High: Skultimate Roller Maze may not be the most exciting game on the 3DS but it actually targets a niche group that many developers don't target, girls under the age of 13.

Asfalia: Panic at the Mansion is a charming, family-friendly adventure that feels like a step forward for the series. It isn’t perfect due to bugs, pacing stumbles, and light replay incentives that hold it back, but its imaginative world, approachable gameplay, and heartfelt themes make it a strong recommendation for parents seeking a wholesome, funny, and engaging game to enjoy with their kids. It’s proof that even in the face of darkness, a little courage and a spark of light can carry an adventure a long way.

A darn good game for a buck. Save the Ninja Clan is perfect for a 5-10-minute session. Speed runners even more.

Jennifer Wilde: Unlikely Revolutionaries, felt more like a visual story than a puzzle game. I liked how you could switch between the two main characters however I didn’t feel like my choices made that much of an impact to the overall gameplay. It was short and sweet (around 4 hours), so perfect for those who just want something quick and relatively simple to play, but not for those that are after more complex puzzles.

Breakout Beyond is an action puzzle game that offers a new twist on an old formula, creating an exciting arcade experience with a modern style. Even if some characteristics of this current version tarnish the vision, the fast paced gameplay and fervor mood keeps you breaking out again and again.

Unfortunately riddled with bugs when it comes to it's DLC-exclusive Tales, Fractured Utopias is a bit of a letdown in some areas. Still, if you're looking for more systems, menus, and some new replayability for what Frostpunk 2 already is when it comes to it's factions, it's a worthwhile update.

Blue Rider is fun, flashy but also flawed. It’s nice to see a legitimate shoot-em-up on the PS4, one made by people who appreciate the genre. The graphical palette is beautiful, and rarely this nice for this genre. Audio is a throwback, and in the best of ways. Too few levels and no true continues make Blue Rider a likely tough sell except for score chasers.

Warhammer 40k: Mechanicus is definitely a game for those who are familiar with the Warhammer 40k universe from playing the table top game, reading the books, or having previously played other video games such as the “Dawn of War” series. Combat is quite challenging but simple enough that players can pick it up quickly after a bit of trial and error. I would have like to have seen more in the way of a stronger combat tutorial that explains how the interface works. This would have lessened the already intense learning curve and made it easier for all console players. Given that this game originally launched on PC, I don’t think it’s been adapted very well for consoles and some extra work to smoothen the transition would have made a world of difference. But at the end of the day, it’s a good game once you know what you’re doing.

Episode 3: Marrakesh is entertaining but it doesn't build upon the brilliant Sapienza mission!

Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z delivers in some respects but fails on others.

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 feels like a major step back for the series. The story itself is fantastic, the method in which it is told is just lacking. There is overall a lack of innovation from previous installations and is a bit stagnant at this point in time.

The problem with The Crew 2 is, aside from its admittedly pretty visuals, it seems content to coast by by just being good enough, never really feeling like it tops its pulse-pounding opening race or effectively shakes up the formula from the first game enough to really stand out as an essential purchase.

A solid strategy-builder game, suitable for entry and advanced players with some knowledge of fish. It is also one better suited for other platforms.

Apex Construct is heavily flawed, with a fun and fairly precise shooting mechanic unfortunately not enough to make up for the dismal movement controls and derivative narrative.

An enjoyable, if basic experience that remains faithful to the TV show it’s based on, unfortunately let down by some serious performance issues.

Total War: Attila is definitely one for the long-time fans. It’s a shame that the new mechanics are buried beneath an absurd difficulty curve and an unhelpful tutorial, but with enough patience and practice (lots of it), Attila will reveal itself a nice step forward for the Total War series.

Doom Eternal is decent on the Switch and is a great game overall even with its issues. If you must play this game on the Switch, then be aware of what you are getting. If you can get it on another platform, I suggest you do that.

Inconsistencies aside, Aaru's Awakening does make for a relatively enjoyable experience, even with its control flaws.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan offers up fun frights and a solid choice-based horror experience - especially when played with others on the same couch.

At this time the game is just a scoot and shoot um up game, it does not attempt to do much more than that. The hard-core fans of the Apache Helicopter may enjoy this passable Helicopter game. Those looking for a more polished game complete with any meaningful story may have to look somewhere else.

You can understand and appreciate what the goal was here, and had it have been pulled off, it would have been quiet the spectacle. Instead though, it’s fallen into a game that you will beat, then shelf, never to be looked at again.

Just remember, this is just a straight up simple fighting game…it does not pretend to be anything else. That is why it's so cool in its simplicity. A casual beat-um up that can be played single player or local with a friend or online.

Sonic Cd may not look pretty, game wise though it is a solid fun romp in the retro gaming realm.

Survivor isn't a bad game, nor is it a good game but rather, it sits somewhere in the middle of the grand scheme of things.

Deadly 30 is the perfect retro game to unwind with after a long day, when you just want to shoot crap and defend your base.

It's fun, however at the end of the day, it's a little unfulfilling as the main gameplay becomes a tad repetitive.

This could have been a saving grace for Sacred 2, it could have wiped away any history of a poor original release, but unfortunately the PC to console port appears to have been rushed a bit too much and a well under polished game has appeared.

Otherskin does have some interesting game mechanics, the core idea is indeed pretty cool. For me it was just a bit too rough around the edges and lacking polish to keep me interested. If you are after a game with a slightly different approach that adds some new ways to play and complete levels (light puzzle solving)… it might be worth your time. I would probably recommend at least waiting for a sale though.

Fundamentally, this story is not really about Lazarus, the characters of his family or even the events, but rather just a mystery to solve, steeped in the struggle of good versus evil. The Last Days of Lazarus is a very professional entry by a small developer and the story is worth checking out if this genre is of interest.

It’s almost like a proof-of-concept for Mii characters that’s arrived a little late (after all, it’s been over a decade since their introduction). I wouldn’t really call it a game, because the gameplay isn’t the main focus. Miitopia is about having a pop star RoboCop fighting a dark lord Pikachu; the absurdity of the randomness that comes with filling a video game world with whomever you darn well please, and there’s something to be enjoyed from that.

One Piece Odyssey is a straightforward RPG crusade with the infamous Straw Hat Pirates. While the game doesn't do anything excitingly new or impressive, this escapade is still a noteworthy adaptation of the admired adventures of Luffy on his search for the One Piece.

All in all, it’s a let down, but not a failure. It’s gorgeously rendered, and a direct evolution from the first game, but it’s left some of the grit and grime behind. If you are the type to love a city-builder, then you’ll likely love it more than the first, just know that there are some technical difficulties when your build number gets too high (you can drop your graphics settings to offset this). But if you were hoping for some hard choices and tough scenarios, the first game (plus DLCs) is the better choice.

Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires, while sporting enjoyable combat and lots of content, is unfortunately bogged down by a myriad of horrible technical issues and repetitive level designs.

Easy on the eyes and ears and fun to play, WWE 2K Battlegrounds is a simplified title that mainly works. Its horrific paywall system, however, immediately kills much of its good will.

Harvestella is a mixed bag of a JRPG with many flaws but also many great, engaging elements. As a result, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone except those who especially love farming simulators and classic JRPGs.

Holy Potatoes! We’re in Space?! Is a very cute game that balances turn based strategy with lots of fun humour, pop culture references, and witty puns. At times if you spend all your money and resources early on it can becoming frustrating and repetitive to build them back up (especially when you face the challenging ‘boss’ levels) but I definitely enjoyed the quirkiness of the storyline. It really is what made this game great fun!

Aside from sometimes repetitive combat and personal preferences on its level of linearity, DQB is a game worth checking out for crafting-simulation lovers and fans of the classic JRPG franchise open to a new direction, but the lack of multiplayer is an omission which can’t be ignored when considering a purchase.

A beautifully crafted 3D puzzle game that has a high chance of making you hungry when playing.

A Way Out is an ambitious co-op only, split-screen only adventure game with a compelling story, interactive environments and fun ideas that's a little messy in execution but fun with a friend.

All in all- my thoughts on Kill la Kill IF are a bit mixed. The game plays best in one-on-one matches, which is what you’ll be playing most of the time. Stick to versus mode and you’ll be fine, but playing through the Story Mode is required to unlock certain characters, and it is a little annoying to get through unless you play on the lowest difficulty. I doubt Kill la Kill IF will appeal to anyone who’s not already a fan of the series but there’s fun to be had here.

Hard core fans like me… will of course soldier along with the game and hope for the best and hope that tweaks to the game will make it better. It has some playing value, though you really have to push yourself to those points of the game. I like the game…it’s just a hard sell really, a love hate kind of thing of a big fan of the franchise….Nagging in the back of my brain is the thought that in this game, no one can hear you scream, and there will be no rescue ship sent.

When I heard about DriveClub VR, I was really expecting the same PS4 experience as the previous title, however I was sadly mistaken. Sure, it has very similar parallels, especially with the amount of content but it’s all about the illusion and due to the reduced graphical capabilities of this game, particularly if you’ve played the previous game, it’s a little disheartening. Nonetheless, the gameplay is sturdy and the VR aspect works but it missed reaching the next level which would have been amazing. I’m really torn here!

GB4 is truly a builder's delight. With more models than ever, a diorama mode and intense focus on building. It's perfect. Where it falls flat, it the repetitive nature of gameplay. A one trick pony, but it aces that one trick!

Concord is a game that has tons of potential, that sadly doesn't capitalise on any of it. A by the numbers hero shooter, that while occasionally fun, failed to make any inroads into an already packed genre.

Over all… I’d probably recommend HOMM or Kings Bounty before The Dragoness Command Of The Flame… but if you have gone through all the other options… this can still provide some enjoyment, but probably in small doses as that character reset mechanic can be quite draining.

Isonzo on the Xbox is like a reminder that you should never put tomato in a fruit salad. Play it on a PC if you play it at all.

In conclusion, 101 in 1 Party Megamix tries too hard to deliver the goods and if they cut back the amount of games included in this release and focused on making them better, this title would have been a very enjoyable game.

Fans of the previous 2 games may have enough love banked for the series to carry them through this release. For anyone else I would suggest finding a different adventure game.

I get the feeling that with a slightly bigger team this game could really have had some polish to it and would have shone like a piece of polished chrome in an irradiated wasteland. As it stands though it’s definitely a rough gem needing some polish. There is certainly some entertainment to be had, the developers have clearly put a lot of time and effort into the story and the world… but it does need refining to really be a worthy addition to your collection. Personally I’d rather go back to the wasteland (come on and release the ultimate edition of Fallout 4 already!) but if you really need that radioactive fix and perhaps it’s on special… you could do worse than give Krai Mira a go.

A great brawler brought low by baffling design decisions.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed is undeniably a mixed bag, with solid combat and some inspired art direction being hindered by a monotonous soundtrack and budget graphics.

A kid-friendly but uninspired take on the 2017 arcade game, better retro options exist for the TMNT crew.

Spiritfall tried something different in an action platformer roguelike, but unfortunately falls a bit short in actual execution. Presentation is solid, but experience is certainly not the kind to keep you wanting one more run.

Wanted: Dead is evocative of a mid-tier 6th console generation hack & slash game in all the right ways, as well as all the wrong ones too.

It’s a hard game to recommend, due to being just too darn faithful to the original for its own good; if you’re a diehard fan of the original game and can contend with the issues outlined above, then by all means give Medievil a shot, but with a wealth of excellent platforming and adventure titles available on the PS4, it’s hard to see a reason to play this over one of its contemporaries aside from the nostalgia factor.

At the end of the day, Lux Pain had a very interesting concept that unfortunately seems once again lost in translation which is a shame because the story was there, it just needed the gameplay to be tweaked.

Call of Duty Ghosts fires some rounds, hits the target, just not a bullseye.

Do I recommend the game… not really. There will be players who really get into the movement mechanics and visual approach, but for me, as much as I love the Space aesthetic, I find VR games that take me out of the first person view to seem counter intuitive (I play VR to be more immersed in my character… taking me outside the physicality of that character just seems to be the opposite of that goal). I also appreciate what was being attempted with the controls but the lack of easing players into using them doesn’t do the game any favours (though once you figure them out, the working with 360 degree movement and momentum etc is pretty cool).

I suspect that fans of the original will find a good dose of nostalgia here that may well make it worth the price of admission. For everyone else… well, if you grew up in the 80’s and 90’s you might get a touch of nostalgia as well, unless you were more a Turtles fan like me, in which case this will simply continue making the Battletoads look like also-rans.

Tennis World Tour 2 is sadly yet another modern tennis game that falls short. Despite bringing Big Ant over from AO Tennis 2, the game ends up burdened by poor execution and gameplay. Even at a budget price, consider holding off until future patches potentially address these also expand the legends roster.

Screencheat on XBox is a game that harkens back to those classic days of LAN gaming!
