I still really love this game world and the mechanics they’ve developed for it. Using Jesse’s powers feels quite intuitive and powerful and is just a joy. If you haven’t grabbed Control already, grab the ultimate edition and you will get AWE with it anyway. If you already have the main game and want to learn more about Alan Wake and related characters then I’d still suggest it’s a worthwhile purchase.

All up, and if you are interested in NFL football, Madden 12 is a great game to get you into the sport and you will most certainly have a much better understanding of American football if you are not that well versed in the game.

Lego 2K Drive has everything a family should have. You can play it co-op with friends, families, especially little kids, and have a blast time. The creation part of the game is rich and just wait to see some of the most amazing cars build by the community of Lego in this game. The overall design of race tracks and side missions could have been better, but the part that is weak compared to all other things in the game.

Fate/Samurai Remnant adds another engaging title to this vibrant universe that is a very well crafted game from start to finish with strong gaming mechanics and a very engaging combat system. Further it is a living breathing world with quite a bit of attention to detail that makes exploration a treat. The game is also brought together by a very well written story with interesting characters, including real-world twists. The only downside is that it can be a little wordy at times with its visual novel implementation and at times, combat can be become a grind but fortunately the gameplay and universe more than makes up for this. Recommended.

The First Berserker: Khazan is a standout title that successfully blends challenging gameplay, stunning visuals, and atmospheric audio to create a compelling experience for fans of the Souls-like genre.

A solid remake that doesn't quite stick the landing thanks to some bewildering soundtrack choices.

SteamWorld Dig is a much needed casual game for the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation Vita that features a very addictive and challenging gameplay.

There’s a few things that don’t age well, but the charming graphics and simple gameplay is a huge accomplishment. If you love those classic comedic point-and-click puzzle games, you can’t look past this release.

Tiny Thor is a well put together game and those looking for something with a challenge will of course enjoy this title. The challenge is hard but fair and the difficulty curve does not spike too rapidly. There are also accessibility options available for those that require this, which is always a positive in my book. Finally to answer my statement from the start after playing this title I can say this game was left in the oven for the perfect amount of time.

A polished and pleasingly accessible remake, Super Mario RPG is a lovely refurbishment of a nearly 30 year-old game managing to balance classic gameplay with new refinements that do nothing but improve the core Mario RPG experience.

It’s difficult to be negative about Age of Empires 2 DLC these days – the game has simply never felt this good. The DLC benefits from Age of Empires 2’s vast amount of improvements, not least the hefty patch that dropped alongside the Three Kingdoms DLC. With a recent focus on quality of life and making the game feel modern (despite its years) the Three Kingdoms DLC is testament that there’s life in the old dog yet.

Horizon Chase 2 revs up its engine and fires on all cylinders to become a template of what a sequel should be.

If you like sneaking around but hate engaging with provoking, meaningful discourse then Deus Ex: Mankind Divided has you covered.

A brilliant top down brawler, Redeemer Enhanced Edition is sure to please every fan of over the top violence and gore with satisfying gameplay to boot.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is a continuation of everything that made Wolfenstein: The New Order work. A very strong character-driven war story, creative alt-history sci-fi setting and ultra-violent, immensely satisfying first-person shooter gameplay.

In conclusion, Dead to Rights: Retribution throws a few curve balls into the third person action franchise. It does take a little getting use to the controls but once you have mastered them, you’ll shooting and biting in no time and wanting to play more of Shadow.

Octopath Traveler is a gorgeous modern JRPG with a great combat system. Unfortunately, a messy and lackluster narrative progression slightly sours the experience.

Madden NFL 25 tweaks the hell out of the franchise and brings a few new things to the table to make any football gaming fan happy.

In conclusion, King's Bounty: Armored Princess, especially for its current price is a very good game and will give you hours upon hours of enjoyment.

For now, Dance Evolution takes advantage of the Kinect and if you're looking for a fun game and like dancing, well my backing dancers... you've come to the right place!

There’s not a lot to it but what there is can be a pleasant distraction from every day life for a while… even if it does simulate a form of every day life for some people. If you like simulation style games you will most likely find enjoyment in this one… if not then this might be worth giving a miss. For me it was another nice easy going title to add to my collection… now if you don’t mind I’m going to switch the radio to easy listening and raise the ramp and head off.

So if you want a healthy dose of style and don’t mind potentially rage quitting every now and then when faced with a boss battle then this should be right up your alley. Also, I’m keen to see how the cosplay community go with that helmet because it is pretty darn awesome!

This is definitely a game that requires your full attention from the get-go and will provide lasting fun through the campaigns and into the multiplayer component.

Never Alone is a beautiful puzzle game about the Iñupiat people that focuses on a young girl and her fox that is beautifully told through story.

The only downside of Unmechanical is that it's quite a linear experience and it's a little too short. However for the price, it's definitely worth investigating if you're looking for a a fun yet sometimes frustrating puzzler. Recommended!

The Tetris Effect Connected is an unusual but super fun next-gen experience and an unexpected one at that!

Subverting my expectations, Olija has earned its place as one of the most haunting, and surprising games I’ve played in quite some time. I cannot recommend this game enough.

Is it worth your time? Well it’s reasonably cheap and it can be a lot of fun, especially when you keep the rhythm going, but by the same token if you loose your rhythm and just can’t seem to get it back it can be quite frustrating. My son loves it and the Patapons can be quite cute… even if they are essentially a pretty violent tribe who go around killing nearly all they come across. Worth a play and certainly if it’s on special it might be a good little time burner to purchase.

At the end of the day, Ballerina is an interesting game that does offer girls something different besides games that are generally targeted towards male gamers. In terms of originality, it's quite original and links the world of ballet quite well to the mini-games and the story. If you have a younger gamer in your family, more specifically a girl who happens to love ballet, than I suggest you check this out.

Overall, Toki Tori 2+ is a great game with great features that most players will enjoy. While the pricing might be a little high, the features that come with it and hours of puzzle fun definitely make up for that aspect. For any casual gamer or puzzle lover out there, I recommend Toki Tori 2+.

So if you like to be surprised, don’t keep reading the reviews or watching Youtube videos because this is one game that must be experienced without coming in with any prior knowledge as you twist your way through of both the land of the living and… the dead!

It’s a little on the short side, which is reflected in the budget price, but the sheer joy that you’ll feel when clearing out a room full of beasts intent on feasting on your entrails more than makes this an easy recommend for me.

The overall plot, cast and character dynamics carry the story forward, and the bug-free experience, full stealth gameplay and other new mechanics set a new standard for future Supermassive games.

Casey Jones and the Junkyard Jam is a fairly concise DLC, but at only $10.49 for a new harder-hitting playable character, a new third stage that’s far more enjoyable than the original, and an expanded selection of artefacts that give you even more fun ways to dole out damage, it’s well worth a punt. Though Casey can be a bit of a liability in the late game, he’s still a great addition to the roster, especially if he’s buddied up with someone a little speedier in co-op. Ultimately though, Junkyard Jam is a decent excuse to play more Splintered Fate and that is no bad thing at all.

A fantastically written and acted, dark love story sadly tarnished by a host of small issues that ruin the experience somewhat.

The Sims has always been one of the best forms of escapism in video games and right now, a lot of people could really do with a fun, overseas holiday to a winter wonderland. Turns out I am one of those people and for this reason, The Sims 4: Snowy Escape has been an absolute treat. The Japanese-themed clothing, furniture items and building materials are sensational and feel refreshingly unique among the standard array of other items available in similar packs. I would have liked to see a few more plots of land to build upon in the Mount Komorebi world, but this is a small criticism of an otherwise excellent Sims 4 expansion pack.

Until Dawn Rush of Blood is one of the PlayStation VR highlights and successfully takes the tried and tested rail shooter and transforms it into an over the top game that almost makes it like you are there. Add in lots of collectibles to be found and some different paths the replay value is quite decent. Great graphics and controls, Until Dawn Rush of Blood is a must have VR game for your PlayStation VR!

The Surge is a whirlwind of action-RPG fun with a fast and frantic melee-focused combat system, addictive loot systems and an immersive sci-fi horror atmosphere.

As it is, Maneater is still a fairly fun game if roleplaying as an aquatic killing machine is your thing, FPS dips and all… I just wish that my brain would stop playing that damn Nelly Furtado song of the same name over and over every time I settle in for a quick sharky session, especially as the OTHER “Maneater” song by Hall & Oates is a much better fit contextually.

I really enjoyed playing Critical Mass and I'll be playing this for quite some time.

Very small issues aside, there’s just such a genuine charm oozing out of Brain vs Brain, thanks to a charming exterior, fun solo play and addictive multiplayer mode, making Big Brain Academy: Brain vs Brain one of the best puzzle experiences available on Switch. Regardless of any issues the mismatched control levelling causes, for casual gamers and those who want a pick-up-and-play puzzler are a fine example of how to breathe life back into an aged and forgotten game series.

Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire – Ultimate Edition is one of the most compelling and lore-rich role-playing games I’ve had to pleasure of playing, but unfortunately, its greatness on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One is let down by a very sub-par console port full of bugs and loading time issues. Still highly recommended for fans who prefer the big TV instead of the computer screen, but only if you have the patience necessary to await the necessary bug fixes and play through unavoidable load times.

I believe Supermassive Games did a great job with The Quarry. While it doesn't offer much in terms of gameplay, the story and characters are by far the best it's been in some of the developer's recent titles and provide an experience that can even rival the spiritual predecessor, Until Dawn.

Hello Kitty Island Adventure may be one for the fans, however it is also quite welcoming to newbies or those seeking a fun life simulator in building this engaging experience from start to finish.

Samurai Warriors 4 DX on PC successfully delivers a robust and satisfying hack-and-slash experience, enriched by a wealth of content and polished gameplay mechanics. While some visual elements may show their age, the game’s core strengths in combat and storytelling remain compelling. Whether you are a veteran of the series or a newcomer eager to dive into the chaos of Sengoku-era Japan, Samurai Warriors 4 DX offers a fulfilling and action-packed journey that is well worth your time.

Heart & Slash is an unforgiving but rewarding entry into the brawler genre.

Graphically, Bejewelled Twist looks like the PC version and the developers have successfully managed to incorporate all facets of this addictive multiplayer title with all its psychedelic colours and special effects. There's definitely no complaints from me. The music and the sound effects once again resonance back to the original game that with the gameplay, make this an entertaining yet sometimes frustrating experience.

Kazimir’s journey handles topics like loss, and the frailty of humankind and nature, with such sincerity that makes Selfloss a journey worth shedding a tear or two for.

The game has an addicting leveling up system where all of your decisions help you out in multiple ways. While gameplay is unique and offers a lot of different ways you can go about any given situation, actually controlling the character is clunky which creates a lot of inadequate moments while playing. The robust magic and gorgeous world really puts this game in a category of its own to be seen among the established titles out there.

At the end of the day, Men at War: Red Tide is a little dated but when it comes to gameplay, this is the highlight of the title.

Synapse is a superb shooter that uses the PSVR2s capabilities to the fullest extent possible.

Finding Frankie is an original take on the horror genre that sees you sprinting and platforming towards the finish line and away from menacing mascots. While the challenge is primitive and the ambition overall leaves some aspects of the game not feeling as fleshed out, Finding Frankie is definitely a game that everyone should at least try.

Compared to some of the other DLC's for the Call of Duty series, I think Call of the Dead is far my favourite because of the intricacies of the map that pay homage to all things Romero. With new weapons, enemies and some great team action to be found, Call of the dead is a must have download from XBox Live and really goes above and beyond the current DLC maps.

A fun and surprisingly deep racing game that pays homage to titles like the early Gran Turismo games.

If you love open-world games with strong narratives and plenty of sandbox distractions, give L.A. Noire an honest shot – its aging elements are greatly offset by its ambition in every gameplay and aesthetic department, and its (still) unmatched facial animations which bring life to every interrogation and character interaction. For returning fans, if you’re craving a reason to jump back into the feeling of a noir detective setting or want a break from all the multiplayer releases, L.A. Noire still holds up.

V-Racer: Hoverbike on PSVR2 is a fast, intuitive, and highly polished futuristic racer that shines through its excellent controls, strong sense of speed, and generous customization options. While the track variety could use a bit more visual diversity, the overall package delivers consistently smooth performance, addictive progression, and surprisingly deep VR immersion. It’s one of the platform’s most engaging arcade racers and an easy pick for anyone craving high-velocity sci-fi racing in VR.

Considering Battlesector has just celebrated its fourth birthday, Deeds of the Fallen makes it clear that there’s still some life left in the old strategy yet. Deeds of the Fallen was released alongside a brand new game mode, Crusade, further expanding the options available to solo players, and there’s still more content promised on the horizon. Lost in the endless sea of Warhammer games? If you want all the thrills of the tabletop experience, Battlesector, and in particular, Deeds of the Fallen, is the best place to start.

Mable & The Wood on PC is really enjoyable at times and very frustrating at others. Furthermore, Mable & The Wood caused a full cycle of emotions while playing through the main story.

The Nintendo Switch version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is a technical marvel. How Bethesda managed to cram such a huge, intricate game world onto a tiny little game cartridge blows my mind. Yet what impresses me most is just how well Skyrim works on the Nintendo Switch, both in terms of graphics and gameplay. The Switch version runs well and looks comparable to the console versions, but the inherent pick-up-and-play nature of the Switch perfectly suits the distractible, open-world gameplay of Skyrim. The tacked on motion-controls and Amiibo support is disappointing, yet easy to ignore, as is the texture pop-in and typical Bethesda-game scripting issues. It may be showing its age a bit, but if for some reason you are yet to play Skyrim, or you’re simply looking to replay one of the best RPG’s of all time, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on Switch is a great package.

In the end, MMA is a well made game that although may be missing some of the fighters due to UFC is still quite a competent attempt by EA Sports.

Game of Thrones Episode 1: Iron from Ice is an engaging game that is steeped in the mythology of George R. Martin's epic series.

Ultimately, Whisker Squadron Survivor shines as a perfect pick-up-and-play experience on the Steam Deck. It’s a game that doesn’t take itself too seriously, offering a delightful blend of arcade-style action, roguelite progression, and a charming aesthetic. So, if you’re looking for a fun, addictive, and visually appealing space shooter to enjoy on the go, grab your Steam Deck and prepare for some purrfectly chaotic space battles. You might just find yourself addicted to the charmingly frantic feline frenzy.

Grow Home ticks all the right boxes for fun and escapism on the PC in this enjoyable arcade sandbox title.

For a casual fan, NHL 14 offers a good time in its main game modes and hours of additional fun with the NHL 94 anniversary modes. However fans of a realistic hockey experience might be a little let down by the big slide into arcade action and the main game modes offering little upgrade over last years version.

It’s got a few issues, mainly the voice overs in the early couple episodes, and a few of the decisions feeling a bit like filler, but this game succeeded in what it set out to do: Be a fun, funny action-filled adventure through space. If you love the comics, films or TV show, this is worth checking out. It’s all the characters you love portrayed very well and you’re in for a blast.

All in all, it’s easy to say it’s the best fitness boxing game yet. It might not do anything spectacular or innovative– it’d be fun to have an opponent to spar with, or even a punching bag to see bounce off each hit– but it gets a sweat up and your heart pumping. It’s boxing and it’ll keep you fit, simple as that.

My Little Pony: A Zephyr Heights Mystery respects younger gamers well and complements the My Little Pony Lore!

In the end, Oceanhorn 2: Knights of the Lost Realm channels its inner Legend of Zelda (quite well) and if you don’t own a Nintendo Switch, this game is a satisfying clone on the Xbox Series X for next-gen gamers looking for a similar experience. All in all, a decent game from start to finish with a running time of 20 hours, unless you become more engaged in side quests and of course Arcadian Tarock. Recommended.

Layers of Fear 2 may not be the quintessential horror-puzzle spookathon, but it’s certainly a thrilling, claustrophobic ghost story that easily holds its own. It’s at times uneven, and the puzzling isn’t as interesting as the backdrop, but for sheer storytelling prowess alone, it’s definitely worth setting sail on this ghost ship.

Team Ninja have succeeded in bringing back Ryu in 2021 and while it doesn’t offer anything new, this collection is a lean mean fighting machine and with the inclusion of 4K graphics running at 60 frames per second, revisiting Ninja Gaiden is a blast from the past with a modern twist and while the first game feels a little dated, this collection excels with the later two games.

I really enjoyed Scars Above on the XSX and it was an enjoyable experience from start to finish, without the grind that are sometimes associated with third person games. Overall Scars Above delivers a strong narrative with playable gaming mechanics that is visually presented well, particularly with its alien world and its diverse denizens. So if you’re looking for a healthy distraction that provides the right amount of challenges, then look to the skies with Scars Above.

Trial and error stealth muddies the otherwise crystal clear waters of this endearing puzzle platformer.

Even considering the occasional bugs, the game is more than worthy of your time if you’re a fan of the franchise.

All in all, Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs is an enjoyable game set in a fun and colourful universe!

Ultimately Turnip Boy Robs a Bank is a fun twist on a familiar theme. Sure we have some hyper realistic games that allow you to be part of a criminal gang performing heists… but why play those when you can be a cute little Turnip working for some pickles firing your cactus and shaking down customers at Mr Stinky’s bank. We may not have Commander Keen or Jazz Jackrabbit anymore… but when we can still have games like Turnip Boy Robs a Bank… I’d say variety in gaming is still alive and well. If you like your life of crime with a touch of humour and edibles… grab a copy of Turnip Boy Robs a Bank!

Cloudbuilt is fun once you get the hang of things. A good challenge for those that do not frustrate easily.

A fantastic combination of horror, combat and puzzle solving elements, Withering Rooms is one nightmare that you may not wish to wake from!

How the game plays may be a little bit gimmicky and the visuals a bit confusing, but Spiderman Unlimited feels and looks like a true Spidey game.

The Developers definitely succeed at creating a fun game for younger gamers, especially if they are fans of PJ Masks because everything is there. Additionally the control mechanics are well mapped on the Xbox Series controller that immediately had our younger player picking up the controller and start playing. In the end, PJ Masks Power Heroes Mighty Alliance is a sturdy platformer with a few different gaming genres thrown into the 2D platformer mix that offers gameplay targetted for kids, unlike some crash grabs out there.
