Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is a title that almost works.

The controls were raw at best, and infuriating at worst. The graphics are workable, but not stunning. The game play was repetitive and drab.

If you like strategy at all and you need a game to get you through the long hot summer nights, get Dawn of Discovery.

It is a great deal of fun with only a few instances where you feel like you are in over your head.

I went into my review for Guitar Hero Smash Hits expecting a retread, but instead saw all of these great tracks get new life. The improvements from Metallica fused with a less niche soundtrack, is simply plastic-instrument-band heaven.

Damn it – Prototype is just fun. The combat is visceral, the movement is fluid and fast, and the storyline is just good enough to keep you going. Wrap that in a great control system and tack on the feeling of ever-expanding power and you have a game that fires on all cylinders. Few games manage to balance their end-game without resorting to cheap numbers games – Prototype manages to pull you in all the way until the revealing end.

This is a rock solid, genuinely excellent first effort by this developer. It's a title I intend to continue playing for the foreseeable future, and one I definitely recommend to those willing to give it a shot.

When all is tallied up, The Legendary Starfy is a solid game. It does everything a platformer should do.

With a fairly lengthy single player game, a well polished multiplayer experience, and the best use of the Havok engine I’ve ever seen, it’s hard not to love Red Faction: Guerrilla.

There’s so much about Red Faction: Guerrilla that is innovative and goes above and beyond your run-of-the-mill game, it’s disappointing that this title didn’t garner a higher score. The fact is that modern gamers want an engaging story line along with their action and that just isn’t present here.

If you're a fan of one of the previous games, you probably have this already, but if you're new to The Sims, this is a great way to jump into the water. Just make sure to climb out for air from time to time.

I walked into Out of the Park X as a complete neophyte and came out rather impressed. Everything was easy to understand, if a little daunting at first. It's not the kind of game you can really get a handle on after dabbling in it.

Be that as it may, this is definitely one of my must-have games for this year. It’s too bad it's so damn short!

If you are a fan of the classic 16-bit era of RPGs then you should definitely buy Crimson Gem Saga.

So, is The Munchables a good mid-range title? Yeah, it is. No one is going to confuse it for Super Mario Galaxy, but it's still a lot of fun.

In the end, I can’t recommend Cross Edge to everyone, but I can recommend it to people who like deep RPGs and don’t mind a little bit of camp with their story.

Fans of Ratchet and Clank who do not own a PSP will be the only ones who will definitely want to check this game out. But keep in mind, it's a short game, coming in at around 8 hours tops. So this may be a rental only if you have to play this game.

From perfectly motion captured fighters, seamless online modes, and excellent presentation, UFC 2009: Unleashed truly is “As Real As It Gets”.

All in all, this is a decent port of the PC version, if only they hadn’t ported the blemishes as well.

PvZ succeeds masterfully at simplifying the tower defense genre into a game that nearly everyone can enjoy.

If you're not a fan of puzzle games, you won't like this one. If you have only a passing interest in puzzle games, you might find Puzzle Kingdoms more frustrating than fun. If you love puzzle games, are suffering from withdrawal and desperately need your fix, Puzzle Kingdoms should provide a good experience despite its obvious flaws.

While X-Men Origins: Wolverine does have a few nagging issues, there is a great deal to like here as well.

Explosive Megamix is only $20, so it can be looked at as a value title. However, there are plenty of other value titles that have better gameplay.

I do think that the gameplay is solid, and a couple of tweaks could make this a great game.

If you are yearning for a multiplayer beat-em-up, this might satisfy you for a bit. Be warned though: since there is no story, I found the limited appeal is for all but hardcore fighting fans.

Flock has a lot going for it. It’s a unique action-puzzle title in a genre filled with too many uninspired Bejeweled clones.

In the end, this charming little puzzle game just isn't a good fit for the Wii.

It has an unmistakable charm, and it could have been a great game. As it is, it's hard to recommend to anyone except for hardcore rhythm game fans.

When I got Tokyo Beat Down, I was really hoping for a great beat-'em-up experience translated into the third dimension, similar to how adventure games and one-on-one fighting games have transitioned into 3D. Unfortunately Tokyo Beat Down falls short of that, and if I want a beat-'em-up I'm better off putting my GBA copy of Final Fight One into my Nintendo DS.

What can you say? It’s Metallica. If you like Metallica, pick this up. If you don’t, you may want to skip it.

In the end, Lux-Pain is really more of an interactive novel than an adventure game, and the intriguing premise is undermined by the uninspired gameplay and confusing story

Burn Zombie Burn is a very fun arcade style action game.

Taken as a whole, Wheelman is a fun weekend title that fans of arcade style racers will enjoy, however briefly.

While I found myself disappointed in the percieved lack of effort in Echoes of Time for the Wii, I'll say this much: When you're playing it multiplayer, you quickly forget all about the blocky graphics or the lack of extra content.

The DS version of Echoes of Time stands on its own pretty well as a single-player experience, but most people are interested in Crystal Chronicles games for the multiplayer.

That being said, the game is boring, lifeless, tedious, and a chore to slog through for veteran gamers.

I can only say that it was nice spending the half-dozen hours with my kids playing the game, and that my wrists really hurt from shaking the Wiimote around. There are some funny bits, but it's not as good as the movie.

This one feels like you could finish it in the theater before the movie ended.

Square took their time and delivered a solid port, giving the PC game several graphical and control options. It’s just too bad that the game they ported is such a mess in every other way.

If you like platformers or puzzle games, try Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure. You'll enjoy it.

Discovering what this game has in store for you is a lot of the fun, so allow me to conclude by saying that if you are a DS owner then Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars needs to be in your collection ASAP.

In the end, Valkyrie Profile series completists will probably enjoy it, but I'd tell most other people to steer clear.

Resident Evil 5 doesn’t revolutionize Resident Evil 4’s gameplay, but it does provide a solid and entertaining entry in the series.

If you can handle another round of not being able to move and fire/reload, there is a compelling game in Resident Evil 5.

In the end, Avalon Code is a unique game that is hamstrung by from some incredibly clunky interface and navigation issues.

The puzzles aren’t particularly difficult and there are no bosses to speak of, but Dokomodake has a certain charm and is so enjoyable that gamers will get their money and entertainment out of it.

If you have a child who is trying to get into video games or likes pets, it's a great buy. They'll have fun, they'll learn some basics about gaming and you won't have to feel embarassed to see it in their collection.

Just do yourself a favor, skip this game and go have fun with the real thing.

Plain and simple The King of Fighter 98' Ultimate Match is pure fan service.

Killzone 2 is a title that grabs hold of you with both hands at your throat and doesn’t let you go until the very end.

All things considered, Entrenchment is more of a “completion” of the original Sins of a Solar Empire rather than an expansion.

The bottom line is that I feel like I should be liking it a lot more than I am. I keep finding myself alternating between frustrated and bored - a combination I never thought I'd see from a Puzzle Quest game.

Blue Dragon Plus doesn’t correct the mistakes of its predecessor, and, in fact, creates some new ones.

Street Fighter IV is proof that you can take classic gameplay and update it for today’s game consoles and it will be hit.

In the meantime, go out and get Dragon Quest V, and enjoy one of the best "lost" RPGs of the Super Nintendo generation.

Flower is a mesmerizing game that truly feels unique, and showcases how Six-Axis control can bring the gamer closer to the experience.

FEAR2 is a game that is evolutionary and not revolutionary but also seems to take a step back in many departments. The ending leaves the player hanging, Alma doesn't really make as many appearances as in the first game, the dumbed down AI, and the lack of a multiplayer community might spell death for the game before it even starts to take off.

Simply put, if you own a PSP and do not buy this game, shame on you. You’ll be missing one of the best games of the year.

I hope that this isn't the last Deadly Creatures game we see. The concept is really great, and a lot of times, this game feels like it's laying the groundwork for a pretty cool franchise.

The game is repetitive. If you can get through that, then you might be able to fight your way throughout the entire game.

The graphics are average for the Wii, the sound is out of place, the sword fighting is Red Steel levels of bad and the fact that the bad guys will let their guard down when their buddies are lying dead at their feet all add up to a disappointing game. Hopefully Ubisoft goes back to the drawing board before releasing Tenchu 5.

Fans of the Tower Defense genre will enjoy Savage Moon. However, players new to the genre will likely become frustrated with the uneven difficulty level and quit the game as soon as they come to one of the harder levels. For those new gamers I would recommend starting with Pixel Junk Monsters on the PSN.

Afro Samurai does so much so well, it’s a shame that the little things are what drag it down.

The great graphics and sound will grab your attention, and the diversity of the worlds and the ability to pick up and play will keep it.

Skate 2's more realistic feel will probably appeal more to actual skaters, and while some of the big tricks might be a bit harder to pull off, it's more satisfying when you get that trick pulled off.

The game itself is fun, even if the combat does seem to be a bit like random button pushing at times, the voice acting is very solid, the music is incredibly good, and the art is mostly good.

SO: SE will appeal to some RPG fans, but I’m certainly not one of them. I need at least a somewhat interesting story and/or characters to keep me engaged in a game, and these aspects were completely missing.

If you're looking for a cool, atmospheric shooter for your DS, I definitely recommend Moon.

If you like an environmental puzzle game with some combat mixed in and like a little of betrayal on top, Mirror's Edge is the game for you. If you are looking for a game that will keep you hooked for days on end, this game is definitely something you can skip over.

They've taken every aspect I could think of an improved it.

8-bit is Enough is another solid entry in the Strong Bad series.

Sadly, Prince of Persia: The Fallen King has far too many shortcomings to recommend it to anyone.

Destroy All Humans is dead and Path of the Furon put the final nail in the coffin. Rest in peace Crypto.

I felt myself compelled to play, but the control issues really got to me. Had there been no control issues, I would have been able to recommend this without any problem.

If you've played CT before and never "got it," or if you've avoided it for whatever reason, now's your chance to give it the shot it deserves. It will be well worth your time.

I think there’s a certain subset of gamers that will absolutely adore MS7, and a larger group of us that will find it fun, but ultimately somewhat unsatisfying.

It's a rare thing when a company wants to roll the dice with a valued property, and the results sometimes turn out great. In this case, not so much.

The Lord of The Rings Online: Mines of Moria is a complete expansion and not just an attempt to cash in on an existing franchise.

There’s probably a fantastic game in there somewhere, and given a bit more development time, it might have shown it’s true colors. As is, however, NFS:UC is awfully tough to recommend.

Fans of the website or the previous games will enjoy the story and jokes.

From the sharp graphics to the rock solid gameplay, this is a well-implemented game.

If you have a computer with internet and think you might enjoy playing games, do yourself a favor and try it.

Mirror's Edge is fairly unique, and I have to applaud DICE for trying something completely new. The fact that they managed to achieve the level of success presented here is amazing.

Red Alert 3 is exactly what it claims to be – a fast-paced RTS with over the top acting and units.

Call of Duty: World at War is a fantastic title.

The game is definitely an incremental step forward for the series, and not a revolutionary one.

I can find fault with anything.

It appears when looking at the sheer number of options available in this game that THQ tried to make the end-all be-all to the wrestling genre. While they did not quite succeed in this endeavor, it was a valiant effort.

I was really hoping that this would be a significant improvement over last year. Unfortunately, outside of the loading time and the Road to Wrestlemania, there's not much to recommend this game.

The controls may drive you nuts at first, but give it some time.

If you are a Naruto fan, then you owe it to yourself to check it out. If you are looking for an adventure game with a nice amount of variety, then you might want to at least give it a rental.
