  1. It's the quality of the central action in InFamous that I keep coming back to. Everything else would be fancy window dressing if Sucker Punch hadn't nailed the basic gameplay elements, the simple moving and shooting, as precisely as it did. InFamous feels like a game designed from the very ground up to be fun to play, so I guess it's no surprise that as soon as the credits finished rolling on my good version of Cole, I started up an evil one to play it all over again.

Simply put, inFamous is the kind of game that when I'm not playing it, I'm constantly thinking about doing so. Heck, I already know what's going to happen right after I finish this sentence: I'm going to go back and play more as "superhero lightning cop" Cole.
  3. Incredible freedom of movement, intense combat, and an enthralling story make Infamous an impressive open-world action game.
  4. A sandbox game that turns you into a superhero, maybe, is a surprisingly entertaining jaunt despite it not immediately capturing our imagination. inFamous does a lot of things right.
  5. But the real reason to buy inFamous is that, regardless of your morality, it's just plain old fun being super-powered Cole in a city full of helpless mortals. And if you're a 360 owner lamenting the PS3 exclusivity, don't worry about it - just go pick up a copy of "Crackdown" instead.

As frustrating as it can be to constantly have to keep your eye out for sources of electricity, the power it gives you is particularly enthralling. With an intriguing story and original, if painfully skillful, enemies, the game offers engagement through both narrative, likeable characters and respectable challenge.
  7. For everything Infamous does well there’s a counter-balance of agitating design decisions.

It even went beyond my expectations with all these touches suckerpunch added in, like when i run though a puddle electricity jolts through it, same happens when you swim and who ever is near gets hurt, You can suck electricity from anything electrical and once you do the object must recharge. The enemies look great, and game is challenging. Who ever gave this a bad review is obviously a fanboy. Expand

Some minor flaws such as enemies half stuck in the wall after being defeated. What was most surprising is the fact that you can't mindlessly jump in the middle of a group of enemies and expect to win which is often the case for these types of games. While the the choices for karma are obvious it is really tempting to use the evil side. Game is really enjoyable and from what I heard there are different cut scenes for both sides. So far I have not encountered any major slowdowns and/or glitches. Really a must buy if you are a fan of the genre and even if you're not definitely give it a try. Expand

Infamous surprised me,i thought i wouldn't like it but far from from it. You play as solid snake soundalike Cole Mcgrath, who is apparently american even though his name is clearly irish.Anyway the idiot accidently blows up the whole city, after being given a package to deliver,in which he fails to notice is in the shape as a bomb. He gains superhero like powers from the explosion,in which you can decide whether to use for the good,or for the bad,in other words be a goody two shoes and help others,or be a selfish bastard and blast everyone and everything in your site. Its great that you have a choice, but what pisses me off is that what it means,is that you need to play through the game twice,in order to get the full use of the story. Which is ok for most gamers, but not for me,See i'm not a great gamer im ok,but im the kind that will die eight times in one mission, just to work out what to do,lets just say im a trial and error gamer. I love the story, especially the twist at the end when Cole turns out to be really a women....well there is a twist but not that. Its a bit of a wrong start for me,i call myself the HarshGamerCritic but the first review i give,i'm not harsh at all,oh well. One thing that annoyed me,is once you have saved the game whenever you put the disc in to play again, there's no start menu so it just loads from the ps3 main screen, all the way into gameplay, which i wasn't aware of when i played it for the second time,i put the game in the console, went to the toilet with the game manual since i was still getting used to the game controls,so obviously i was shocked when coming out of the toilet,to see cole getting his irish ass handed to him by a bunch of reapers. That's the only thing i can really moan about, well apart from Cole's fat annoying fat friend Zeke and his ugly girlfriend trish, who was unfortunately dropped from a high storey building by kessler,in which i could have saved her but why would i,its not like she even gave Cole any sex since the explosion selfish bitch. Not much to say about Infamous apart from,im sitting with my ps3 sixasis dualshock 3 controller in my hand waiting for Infamous 2 so hurry up SuckerPunch,i haven't got all year. Expand

Cole, the main character, has no personality other than a gruff voice and a rather uninteresting dialogue. Zeke, Cole's best friend, has no purpose in the game other than to be a fat, lazy moron, that as one of the villians describes him as the 'Fat kid on the roof'. The Fed Moya is rather annoying, and Trish, Cole's girlfriend, just needs to be slapped. The game play was great however, and the story line was excellent. I would reccomend renting it first, but all in all the game was pretty good. Expand
