Overall, Monsters vs. Aliens is a solid videogame adaptation from the movie. The combination of standard action-platforming, more traditional puzzle-based platforming and on-rails races that you’ll experience with the different characters provides just enough variety and challenge for the game’s target market. If your child is a fan of the movie, you’ll want to pick up the game.
-
All together, I found Monsters vs. Aliens to be a fun game, something that could easily appeal to adults and kids alike, whether you were a fan of the film or not. The gameplay is addictive, great to sit down and play in short bursts, and there's plenty of unlockable content to keep you busy after you've finished the main story.
-
If you’ve got a youngster who really took a shine to the movie, then we wholeheartedly recommend this game as a way to extend the experience. It offers a unique perspective from what you’ll see in theaters, as well as a quality gaming package overall.
-
Those that have played the other games in the DreamWorks Animation series might get a feeling of déjà vu when experiencing it, but if you’ve never played any of the other games, Monsters vs. Aliens should impress with its solid approach to an equally memorable film.
-
While not a deep or especially polished adventure, it'll keep you entertained for a weekend.
-
I can only say that it was nice spending the half-dozen hours with my kids playing the game, and that my wrists really hurt from shaking the Wiimote around. There are some funny bits, but it's not as good as the movie.
-
Monsters vs. Aliens isn’t a bad game, especially for the younger target audience it is oriented toward. It also isn’t a great game, as it is pretty short and generally repetitive.
