Sam & Max behind bars! That’s how the third season starts and it’s a great start, too. Lots of comedy, running gags, the return of beloved characters and new ideas - but still a bit too easy.

Hundreds of vehicles, hundreds of square kilometers – Avalanche has created the largest level for an action game so far. Some of the open world gameplay just seems to be there to add playtime, but the missions make up for that.

Solo gamers won’t have that much fun with Demigod, but if you are into multi-player battles, you are in for a treat. Balance needs to be fixed, though. And it’s a bit too expensive.

Give this ugly duckling a chance. It may not become a swan, but it's a hell of duck. If you like Minecraft, this game will be a nice change with the focus on exploration.

Slashers's Keep is half dungeon-crawler and half Rogue-like, it can, nonetheless, be considered to be slightly more than just the sum of its parts.

Neat retro shooter with good game flow and sound design, yet turns out to be a little too easy and concludes a little too abruptly.

Jenny's death in the first part of The Darkness is in my mind one of the most emotional moments of the shooter genre. All the better to think that this great story continues now – even though without a satisfactory conclusion...Apart from this, levelheadedly observed, there is not so much within The Darkness 2. The gameplay is repetitive, and there's not much of it. And yet the game entertained me in the short time very well.

The brute battles, the use of role-playing elements and the fast multi-play mode are exciting, but as far as mission design, story and balance are concerned, Dawn of War 2 doesn't live up to its potential. Relic created a novel strategy game, but the discrepancy between the more technical parts of the game and its mission design and story is obvious. Still, it's not a bad game at all.

A successful heir to Dark Souls who improves the original concept, but knows its own limitations.

A single developer did a far better job with Banished than the whole team of Maxis with Sim City. Yes, there are still some things missing, like upgrades or more buildings, but there will be mod tools for the community.

Starbound offers a lot of freedom, diversity and a love for details. An amazingly good game if you love 2D pixel worlds.

Legend doesn't offer many new things, but if you can't be better than Diablo, you can at least try to create a good copy. In the case of Legand, this was a wise choice.

The Definitive Edition has fulfilled its most important goals. It revives the first Age of Empires in a more beautiful way than in the memory of the most nostalgic - and removes enough of the legacy that I can enjoy today just as much as it used to. Above all, I can hardly wait to see what the developers will do with the Definitive Edition of the second part.

Good mix of board game, classic pen & paper, turn-based combat and roguelike with few new features.

Grid Legends delights with superb orchestrated, entertaining races, but it leaves a lot of potential untapped in terms of career and team management.

Lost Ark is a good MMO with tons of content, alas unnecessarily complicated and repetitive endgame mechanics.

When does this game start in earnest? The puzzles are so easy and the story so superficial that it feels like an intro to a game - until die credits roll. It's fun, but lacking substance.

Electronic Arts and Will Wright send you on a unique journey through Evolution. But it's less of a game and more of a colourful biological construction kit. Spore is sophisticated and rich in details, but all this is rarely noticeable because of its uninspired game play and lack of a story, which is such a pity. It's a paradise for creative gamers, but an expensive one, too. Electronic Arts asks 10 Euros more than usual - that's a rip off.

The addon is overshadowed by major changes behind the scenes. The new class is great, but overpowered, and the story ends abruptly.

Metro also works in VR, even if Awakening is a little weaker than the non-VR parts of the series.

This is a brandnew adventure game in the style of old school games in the tradition of Sierra. It doesn't matter how pixilated the graphics or how complicated the controls are once the story and atmosphere managed to captivate you.
