Octopath Traveler 0, as a prequel to the franchise, keeps everything fans already love—an engaging story, strategic and deep gameplay with a cast of charming characters. While a few elements could be more polished, it still stands out as a JRPG worth keeping on your radar for the rest of the year.

Live A Live is a unique JRPG that jumps to consoles with some huge improvements. 8 stories to live, 8 different gameplays although with the same bases and 8 different time settings, are the proposal of this title that was once lost in time. Those who wanted to try it and don't have a Switch can do so.

Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake is the perfect example of how to properly bring two timeless classics back to life. With modernized mechanics, a beautifully reorchestrated soundtrack, and a stunning visual style that pays homage to old-school JRPGs, it’s a faithful yet fresh experience. While the stories still reflect the era they were born in, the new additions make this remake an absolute must-buy for fans of the genre.

Dragon Quest III HD-2D is a good adaptation that stays very faithful to the original material, though at times it can feel a bit tiresome. It’s a satisfying and well-prepared experience that only RPG fans, in general, will truly appreciate.

Final Fantasy XVI on PC comes with many improvements compared to the original version. However, this performance issue makes the experience disappointing, especially for those who do not know how to manually adjust the graphic settings. DLSS is useless because it's hard to achieve a stable 60 FPS. The original game is really good, but the experience on PC change your mind. Playing with a mouse and keyboard can be a challenge during the first few hours.

Gradius Origins delivers a solid dose of nostalgia in a well-curated collection of this legendary franchise. It offers enough to stand out from other retro compilations, especially with the inclusion of the previously unreleased Salamander III. If you're looking for a challenging experience and a piece of gaming history, this collection has it all.

Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred makes significant improvements to a game that had been forgotten. While the story has some holes, the extra hours of gameplay are useful. The new class and activities boost the experience by making room to play them with friends. Despite it could have been better, the visual work far exceeded expectations.

This is a charming game that receives a well-deserved remaster, not just visually but also in gameplay and new additions that enhance the original experience. For those looking for a challenging JRPG with unique characters and a demanding combat system, Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster is the right choice.

This game puts a spin on the adventure genre and brings it out of the shadows. It's a clever game with unique puzzles and a noir story that unfortunately retains some issues from the original version. In some sections it has new features, but they were too limited.

They are improved versions of the classic titles, not only visually but also in gameplay. They retain all the charm of the original releases mixed with one of the most enchanting soundtracks in video games. It will make us know how the saga was before Final Fantasy 7.

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound delivers everything a classic-style game should have—fast-paced, intuitive, and challenging gameplay. It’s highly replayable, encouraging players to improve their performance with each run. While it has a few minor flaws, they’re easy to overlook given everything else it brings to the table.

This is just another failed attempt to take the Black Ops saga back to its roots by adding things that nobody asked for. Even with three different ways to play it, you can't get 50 hours of gameplay without getting bored in every way possible. It's just another game in the franchise that misses the opportunity to impress the traditional gamer who is just looking for a decent game to enjoy for a while.

The Alters is one of those games that draws you in with its genre, but keeps you hooked with its mechanics, story, and challenges. It poses the 'What if?' question in a brilliant way. The ability to create multiple versions of the protagonist is its strongest feature. It’s an intriguing experience with room for improvement, but one that will reward players who take the time to give it a chance.

Guilty Gear Strive is a visually stunning fighting game with demanding, technical, and fast-paced gameplay, featuring a roster of 28 characters now arriving on Nintendo Switch. It retains everything that makes it great on more powerful consoles, though with lower graphical quality. Still, it offers a generous amount of content for fighting game fans on Nintendo’s hybrid console.

Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp is a pure strategy game that lovers of the genre will enjoy. As a remake it does very well, both with the aesthetic change and with the new additions. Things get better with the multiplayer, although in the online part they limited the matchmaking a lot. Without a doubt, a classic that comes back to life.
