Rise of the Tomb Raider is a whole level above its predecessor. Almost every aspect of the game is executed better than it did in TR so what we have is the definition of a worthy sequel that establishes the revamped TR as a new gaming chapter in the industry. The only setback is the highly extreme enemy A.I. which leads to a havoc-like situations amidst several gunfights.

It is essentially a tower defense game in its more simplistic form, something that is its bigger positive and drawback at the same time. It is extremely easy to build your kingdom and provide tense defense situations, but its simplicity creates many hurdles on the way those defenses could be constructed.

This is a simplistic albeit immensely entertaining game if you experience it with a friend. The demanding situations of the later stages will require your utter cooperation leading to exciting battles for survival. Being designed as a primarily co-op experience, though, you should prepare for a more dull and trivial experience if you approach it as a single player game.

Through a stunning revival of Victorian London, but also a damaged A.I. and stripped down gameplay mechanisms, Syndicate denies its Assassin’s Creed legacy and adds a boring chapter that just has to be played to move to the next one. No back story, no characters, no plot whatsoever. Unity failed to bring the series back to its trail, but at least tried. Syndicate doesn’t even bother.
