After a colourful second episode, this third one feels regrettably dull. Its off-putting first part and rather short adventure both contribute heavily to the feeling. But despite its shortcomings, They Stole Max's Brain still is a decent part of the series, and belongs right there with the others. Let's just hope the fourth one will be on the up side again.

Despite some shortcomings, this Pendulo title manages to keep the pressure up from start to finish. Its odd characters are charming, its puzzles sometimes devious but overall its a very accessible title, blessed by quality dialogs... All in all The Next BIG thing has everything to please. We're still sorry it's too easy and rather short. But it's a very satisfying adventure, on par with the greatest titles of the point'n click genre.

Don't Nod is back with a vengeance, with a proposition calibrated for fans who fell in love with the studio thanks to Life is Strange. Lost Records has everything to appeal to an audience that swears by the emotions they experienced playing Max Caulfield in the Arcadia Bay era or even with the Diaz brothers. The story and its direction are undeniably the strong point of Tape 1. ‘Bloom sets the scene and the stakes to create a title that has every chance of becoming a new studio benchmark. It still stumbles at times, notably due to a technical aspect that isn't quite finished. We're obviously hoping that the studio has given itself enough time to ensure that the sequel doesn't suffer the same disruption. So we can't wait to launch Tape 2 and get to the bottom of the story behind this reunion of friends who haven't seen each other for 27 years. We look forward to seeing you on 15 April 2025.

As usual with Telltale since The Walking Dead, the first episode is a beautiful promise for what is to come. If you're a fan of the studio and Game of Thrones, you will easily dive in this experience that picks from both. Choice system is still efficient, the fact that we play different characters works fine and the atmosphere from the series is well respected. We're eager to see what's coming in the next episodes.

As its title suggests, Tell Me Why depicts the journey of two siblings trying to find the truth about their twisted past. Addressing in a mature way the transgender question, the game also delivers an interesting perspective on the flaws of human memory, with the confrontation of childhood recollections. The second episode sometimes moves at low pace and the game lacks of new environments, but the overall experience is memorable.

No More Heroes III is radical, punk and messy experience with a unique personality that will indeed please players who have been seduced by the first episodes on Wii - despite theirs flaws that are still those of this third game. 10 years have passed since No More Heroes 2, and as many games have successfully been walking on the same path, breaking codes and brilliantly combining content and form, it's surprising that Suda 51 did not give more scope to his title to sublime its personality.

It is a true pleasure to discover a beloved franchise like Total War that uses the Trojan War as a background. It is a great RTS, with some fantastic artistic value and and a few novelties that make it really interesting for this series. Nevertheless, some mechanics like the economy are a bit under-exploited, especially in mid-game until the end. Difficulty feels very odd with enemies who use and abuse the agent system to sabotage your faction.

Even though we would have loved for Shenmue I and II to get real remakes, both games still have a lot to offer to 2018 gamers. Sonic The Hedgehog Episode 4 seems to be more of a Sonic the Hedgehog 1.2 (calling it "A.5" would put it too close to the brilliant Sonic 2...). The levels don't surprise, the soundtrack bores, and more importantly the blue hedgehog's inertia and dullness make it a real disappointment in 2010. We'll try not to resent it too much, since it's a rather cheap downloadable game, but it's still a very short game as well. Love is blind, so some may still enjoy it, but we'd rather advise them to try out the DS games, which are closer to today's expectations of a 2D journey with the supersonic hedgehog.

Railway Empire is a good management game, interesting, deep and complex. But it is clearly not for beginners despite its presence on PS4 and Xbox One. The tutorial is too frail and we often end up going around in circles before finding the solution which make a run extremely time-consuming and artificially long. Despite that, this title has many interesting game mechanics, in particular the economy system which is a perfect representation of modern capitalism and what the history of the American railway might have been.

The Metal Gear Master Collection Vol.1 is nothing less than the ultimate compilation for all fans of the license. As its name suggests, it is only the first part of a collection, and therefore does not include all the games in the franchise. Nevertheless, it allows fans and the curious to play the first 5 games, notably MGS 1, 2 and 3, the triplet released on PS1 and PS2. Legendary episodes that, in essence, haven't aged a day, but which in form still show their age. If nostalgia speaks to you, if you're a hyper-fan or if you've had the audacity to miss out on the Metal Gear license, now's the time. On the other hand, don't expect anything more than simple ports and a ton of digital goodies that will only speak to lovers of the franchise. If you were hoping for remasters worthy of the PS5 or remakes, you'll have to wait for MGS Delta (3 remake), which will arrive much later.

The Sims 3 : Ambitions clearly peers at the Adventure genre, in an apparent attempt at pepping up its gameplay. A new direction that we already felt with World Adventures, the first expansion pack. As it was the case with this previous one, it's the opening of a new side of the title that makes this expansion interesting. The impact those new experiences have in the long run on the personal stories of the avatars help forgetting the immediacy they may seem to have at first glance. On the one hand, it's a rather skillful adaptation of Nerial's license formula to the famous universe of Andrzej Sapkowski's books and, above all, CD Projekt RED's The Wild Hunt, which will certainly make fans smile. It's still an above average experience, but the campaign remains stuck between the realism angle and the needed fireworks of the genre, unable to impress on either one of them, while the multiplayer sacrifices deepness and precision in order to remain more accessible and bridge the imaginary gap between Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Modern Warfare. With 4 characters rather than a mass of Patapons to control, and a revised progression system to go accordingly, the tactical aspect of the game ventures to new horizons, while remaining efficient. It's still a demanding game, sometimes unfairly difficult, but also more accessible (by displaying the rythm combos at the bottom of the screen) - a progress for some, a shortcoming for others. The game is very complete in terms of game modes and choice of wrestlers, and it perfectly recreates the atmosphere and the fun of the discipline. However, it lacks some real innovations: the graphics looks a bit old, many bugs are still there and the single player mode is a joke. We hope that Yuke's Media will raise the bar next time.

Let's be clear : Kinectimals won't be able to capture an adult's attention for long, but let's not forget that it's not made for them. But it's easy to pick up and follow, beautiful, and unbeatable when it comes to making a child smile : yes, the magic works. There may be some latency, and indeed sometimes Kinect seems to react in an odd fashion, but the overall experience remains solid. Touching, even. Probably the most immersive and moving pet game to date.

If you already both games of this compilation, it's not exactly worth it, as it is mainly Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night in their PSP versions - without the 2.5 version of the first one. But if you've never played those, it's a pleasant, but not very joyful, way to discover them.

However, despite its multiplayer focus, this new Puyo Puyo is still home to the jovial and fun puzzle game it has always been, in its most fun, colorful and cute look on this date.

Picross: Lord of the Nazarick is certainly a great addition to any Picross player that knows and appreciates Overlord. It has a lot of elements from the anime, which can be feel like a relief after three Picross S games that look almost the same. If you don't know or don't like it, you'll probably want to go straight to the point and skip the cutscenes that slow down a bit your need for coloring blank grids and reveal some Pixel Art images.

Star Fox Guard is a genuine and ingenious new take on tower defense. The asymmetric gameplay increases action with first person shooting, while the tactical side deploys on the GamePad, particularly through the edition of customized troops to battle online. But the progressive expansion of the arsenal, the changes of environment and the special missions don't create enough diversion from the genre's usual repetitiveness.

Mortal Shell is a quite good A-RPG with original - but imperfect - mechanics and a poor RPG section. With this new release, the game gains 60FPS, 4K and better textures. Not the better "Souls game", but a pretty descent alternative.

Darkwood is really not for everyone's hands. Unforgiving and far from being linear, it's above all aimed to gamers who are experienced in the survival genre. The sound design is neat and conveys a real feeling of despair and horror, even if the visuals and the game design in general lack of variety.

It's kind of hard to advise playing those games today, even though their HD remastering is well-executed. But for gamers who do not mind the visual gap with today's productions, nor the slightly more rigid gameplay of the older games, it's a very nice way to discover the origins of the legendary beat'em all saga.

Cris Tales is the first game from the Colombians studio Dreams Uncorporated, and it's rather impressive, with a deliciously retro feeling, a charming design mixing pastels, 2D and 3D, very pleasant for the eyes despite some optimization concerns, even on PS5, where DualSense is not very well supported. What makes Cris Tales original is not its classic scenario, but the powers of its protagonist, who can see both the past and the future at the same time. In game, it means a screen cut in three, and we can have fun moving the camera to observe the destiny and life of an NPC by running from left to right. In combat, it's quite exhilarating, since it will be necessary to mix temporal and elemental mechanics to overcome his enemies. Clearly, Cris Tales is a very humble and charming little game, and if this is your kind of game, you should look into its case.

More of an extension to Storm 2 than a true new episode, Generations combines characters from both eras of the anime, the original and the Shippuden one, while retaining most of what Ninja Storm was in terms of gameplay. This last, quite comprehensive episode may still be one of the best adaptations of the anime, it also shows that CyberConnect2 needs to find new wind to save its momentum.

The game is full of good ideas but the action/combat part is painful, because of an too powerful AI. In short, the game is no bad but the "action part" is not as good as it should be to feel like a real pleasure. It's a shame for a game with brilliant ideas.

Alma used to give you nightmares with the previous episodes? That won't be the case here. Action is predominant, and serves well for nice gunfights, let's make that clear. But with production values that are below our usual tastes, levels that are too linear and an atmosphere that is more bloody than frightening, there's disappointment to be had. F.3.A.R is but another FPS that has trouble differentiating itself from the crowd.

The Secret World has some really different things to offer than your usual MMO. This makes for a dividing design; some will love it, some will hate it, and the usual MMO player may very well fall into the latter category. PvP's a joke, but the writing is brilliant, the investigation quests are solo but rewarding, and the combat good enough. Too bad there are still so many bugs, and a pricey subscription to play it.
