Fire Emblem Warriors on the New Nintendo 3DS is mostly the same game that can also be found on the Nintendo Switch but the conversion feels a lot more like a downgrade than it should. While both systems are obviously different, there are several elements on this version that feel botched compared to the original and while this does not harm the overall experience, it does pose some questions, including the reason why the cooperative mode was scrapped.- FNintendo

Gotcha Racing is a fluid racer which was designed for a handheld format and which rewards those who invest into its mechanics. Its flaws lie on the lack of a more involving multiplayer mode and on its slow sense of progression, which can put many players off.- FNintendo

Brutus & Futée has gameplay mechanics which recall other times and which can be a breath of fresh air, not to mention its attractive artwork. Unfortunately, the game’s short lifespan and trial-and-error moments harm what could be a much more enjoyable experience.- FNintendo

Oceanhorn: Monster of the Uncharted Seas is an adventure game that knows what it wants and is not ashamed to go just for it. Clearly influenced by its mentors, Oceanhorn brings forth an accessible, simple and fluid plot which could work even better as a game, were it not for some frustrating gameplay mechanics at the protagonist's level.- FNintendo

Kirby Star Allies is a good landmark for the series, as it provides a whole set of elements that fans of the iconic Nintendo character will appreciate, including the unavoidable ability to copy an enemy's ability. Where Star Allies falls behind is on its exaggerated simplification, which feels too lenient even by the Kirby standards and ends up harming the experience of what should be a more enjoyable game.- FNintendo

Pier Solar and the Great Architects is a welcome effort of creating a piece of work in the contemporary age that follows a format of the mid-1990s. Its narrative is well structured and the visual interface is very appealing, but the game also suffers from several technical flaws and its combat system quickly becomes repetitive and tedious.- FNintendo

Super Rocket Shootout has a surprising concept that works in a way that's competent enough, despite its lack of a much needed online multiplayer mode. Thanks to a plot that's filled with humour, to a simple but addictive local multiplayer and to an overall gameplay that is rewarding and free of unnecessary difficulties, Super Rocket Shootout could really benefit from doing away with its compulsory tutorial mode and with a longer lifespan.- FNintendo

By putting the player in the place of the villain, many of gaming's usual conventions are seen in a different light. Unfortunately the game's level design is so linear and unadventurous that it ends up harming the experience more than it should, and its exaggeratedly difficult jumping doesn't let this promising work rise above a mid-level threshold.- FNintendo

Shock Troopers is a classic that will resonate with the players who have a big case of nostalgia for this game. It keeps up with the test of time when played on its two-player mode but beyond that, some of its gameplay feels anachronistic and stands in the way of making it a more enjoyable classic to most players beyond the circle of connoisseurs who know what they are getting.- FNintendo

Legna Tactica follows all the conventions of a tactical/strategy RPG and does this job well enough. It also refuses to go further and falls into a corner where it ticks the essential boxes but doesn't stand out in any other way due to its uninteresting plot, unimaginative artwork and overall lack of originality. Legna Tactica could go beyond and build on what it already does well but as it is, it falls below expectations.- FNintendo

My Girlfriend is a Mermaid?! goes along the visual novel conventions but doesn't dare to try anything groundbreaking or that would allow it to stand out among its peers. As such, the game features good examples of character animation and soundtrack but its humour gets repetitive too quickly and the protagonists are not as attractive as fans of visual novels would expect them to be.- FNintendo

Heart Beaten is a hilarious, simple and addictive experience, similar to WarioWare in the sense that it is based around wacky minigames...and it all ends quickly, as there are only fifteen such minigames and once they are cleared, the game pretty much becomes redundant.- FNintendo

Titan Quest does not represent the pinnacle of action RPG and this remastered version for the Nintendo Switch shows its twelve years of age, even if its gameplay remains fairly interesting. While sometimes its content in terms of objects and weapons feels too much, its local and online multiplayer modes are an added value. On the downside, the game feels too repetitive and its outdated visual component becomes a handicap.- FNintendo

Shows its limits early on, with its rather repetitive combat, a level structure that needs improvement and the mixing of different graphic styles did not come out too well, but while those not interested in the genre should look the other way, any River City fan will be more than satisfied with this reincarnation of the thirty-year-old series.- FNintendo

Sky Force Anniversary features some of the elements that are most appreciated by shoot'em up fans and adds to that an accessible gameplay and an interesting visual environment. It does less well when it comes to its content, which feels short and repetitive, and it doesn't pass the challenge of standing up to another game of the same series, also made available in the Nintendo Switch eShop.- FNintendo

Thomas Was Alone is somewhat of an incognita as a game. Its magnificent soundtrack and overall audio work will marvel the players but the gameplay mechanics should have been much better executed and its occasional technical flaws don’t help at making the experience more pleasant.- FNintendo

Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs - Royal Edition will grab the player's attention thanks to its plot and marvelous humour featured throughout the game, reinforced by the marvelous voice acting and visuals. Unfortunately its combat system does not follow suit and the experience ends up being less accessible and enjoyable than it should, aggravated by immensely long loading times.- FNintendo

Half Past Fate on the Nintendo Switch brings a good mix of a marvelous visual environment and a funny plot which will find a good place with fans of romantic comedies. Other players might find it less appealing, and the game's short lifespan and rather high retail price is more likely to put them off.- FNintendo

Blocky Bot does what it proposes – it’s a simple, quick and down-to-Earth platformer whose gameplay is immediately grasped on by the player. It does its job at providing fun sessions of platforming action but once its levels have been cleared, there aren’t many more reasons to pick it up again.- FNintendo

Morphies Law stands out for its concept which is more than worthy of the player's attention. Featuring a fun and original gameplay and free of any microtransactions, Morphies Law brings forth an enjoyable multiplayer experience for up to eight players. Where it fails to impress is on the amount of content (or lack thereof) and limitations on its multiplayer component, which harm the game's long term potential.- FNintendo

Aegis Defenders has several points in its favour, such as well-designed gameplay mechanics, a quality plot and its good audiovisual environment, but as it becomes clear, a good game is more than the sum of its parts. The game's puzzles quickly start feeling repetitive and its difficulty level comes off as exaggerated, which contribute to put Aegis Defenders in the territory of games that could have edged towards a much more memorable status.- FNintendo

My Time at Portia is without a doubt an ambitious game, with plenty of places to go and a myriad of things to do. So it only feels frustrating to see that its long loading times can harm the player's experience and its overall presence on the Nintendo Switch feels like a PC game that was copied onto a console format, especially when it comes to its controls, as this turns out to be a game which only big fans of simulations of this kind will truly enjoy.- FNintendo

Layers of Fear Legacy features a simple and accessible gameplay mechanic that puts the player in a horror-themed adventure that includes a very detailed and well-designed visual environment, as well as some interesting puzzles. It doesn't live up to its full potential, though, as it could be much more immersive and feature more action moments and after some game time, it feels somewhat less appealing.- FNintendo

Elliot Quest boasts a charming retro look and sound environment and its dungeons are very well designed and laid out. Unfortunately its performance is way below par and its gameplay mechanics make it too difficult and repetitive to play, while the locations outside the dungeons are too confusing to keep track of.- FNintendo

Just Ignore Them on the Nintendo Switch is a simple, very simple-looking game with a horror theme and one that for such a low-budget effort, carries a certain flair. It's no monumental masterpiece, but it has a competent aesthetic and an environment that puts the player in the right spot. Its longevity, alas, is very short and the game's instructions aren't always clear and intuitive but for what it's worth, Just Ignore Them is not without its charms.- FNintendo

Overwatch on the Nintendo Switch wants to fill a gap when it comes to one of the most popular contemporary games in a Nintendo console and while fans of the series will certainly appreciate the opportunity, this version feels severely harmed when compared to others. Its framerate drop, already half of that in other versions, downgrades the visual experience and the bugs that happen on the game's graphics make this feel like a subpar version. There's also no crossplatform compatibility, which leaves this version on the Switch rather isolated compared to the others.- FNintendo

Futuridium EP Deluxe brings back the space-themed shoot'em up, this time with a psychedelic atmosphere that will pit the player through fifty levels which will pose a significant amount of challenge - sometimes too much challenge for its own good, as the controls aren't always responsive as they should and level design could use some serious improvements.- FNintendo
