The game sticks too much to the series' formula, which means that it pales next to other similar titles available on the 3DS. While it has its punctual moments of fun, many of the minigames are bland and not deep enough for players looking for something more compelling. This is a game addressed only to those who know exactly what they're coming for.

Clusterpuck 99 is a fun and amusing mix of genres that makes use of simple and intuitive controls, a multiplayer component able to handle up to eight players and a competent AI to bring an experience that can certainly make for some fun hours around a Nintendo Switch, despite its lack of online play and a rather short lifespan when played solo.

At its primary goal, it's a fun game with varied levels and a good level of competition. It starts losing its appeal rather quickly, though, as its game modes quickly lose their novelty effect and its very short length mean that it will not keep players amused for very long.

Thanks to its visual outlook and well-built plot, this is a game that will keep players interested until the end. It displays the limits of a low-budget game, however, and some of its segments feel too linear but this title shouldn't be in trouble to gather a group of fans.

Asdivine Hearts is designed in a way to appeal to the nostalgia of 8 and 16-bit era RPG games and it does a competent job at that, with interesting characters, fun dialogues and long hours of gameplay for those dedicated enough. It doesn't stand out much further than that, though, as its plot feels rather uninspired and the whole visual atmosphere could have used some improvement.

Beatbuddy: Tale of the Guardians does not follow the standard formula of most rhythm games but rather adds rhythm to a platformer. However its potential feels lost in a rather repetitive gameplay and poor technical execution, despite its very rich visual environments.

The game's level of customization and how it welcomes the players certainly plays in its favour, even though its audiovisual environment is nothing to write home about and there's no online component. Still, Super Street: Racer does get some important points right and fans of arcade racing and customization will find some value in this game.

Vitamin Connection, a Nintendo Switch exclusive is a good formula for two players who are looking for a fun, intense action experience. While its solo dimension feels much emptier, the game's lovely visual presentation, variety of levels and gameplay mechanics that make full use of the Nintendo Switch capabilities are certain to please many pairs of players looking for a good time.

Despite its visual appeal, however, the game takes a very long time to fully take over the player's experience, as its exploration becomes monotonous and its difficulty level is cranked up way too high. A more fine tuned level design would be very welcome here, as Exile's End feels like a rather unfulfilled promise.

Lovely Planet is certainly one of the least conventional titles to don the mechanics of a first person shooter. Its simple and clean visuals go completely against the genre's standards whereas the quick and easy way to bring the player to the game shrugs off any concerns about plot or narrative. A game made for quick, intense gaming sessions that can get too saturating if played with a different mindset.

The Legend of Kusakari may depart from an extremely unlikely premise but it's just simple and fun enough to provide a worthy experience for several hours. While taking it beyond its purpose will make the game feel repetitive, its overall sense of humour, good control system and hectic pace will not make anyone regret its purchase.

The Flame in the Flood's survival mechanics are worthy of praise. The game has a very well-made background world and an interesting crafting system that puts the players in the middle of the game's concept. However not all of the game's elements are as outstanding and it often feels that it doesn't fully live up to its potential. Nevertheless, dedicated players will be closely around The Flame in the Flood for a long time.

Elliot Quest does not try to hide that it seeks its inspiration in 8-bit era games and it certainly succeeds at reenacting the spirit of those days, as well as coupling it to competent audiovisuals and a good lifespan. It doesn't do as good when it comes to its difficulty curve, which is way too steep for most players and it gameplay gets too complicated for its own good at some moments.

The focus is clearly on action and character development, as the game's plot is minimal but there's a great amount of missions to complete. Sadly it can repetitive on a long-term basis and the sound component really needs to be reworked.

Late Shift does not resurrect the interactive movie genre back to its heyday but it is a competent effort in terms of visuals and acting performance, thanks to its artists and multiple choices. Unfortunately the results of the plot choices never truly make the player feel that there is a lot of interactivity and as such, Late Shift ends up feeling like a more limited piece of gaming that it would be expected to.

Ninja Pizza Girl features interesting gameplay mechanics, by adding parkour techniques to what would be overall a mundane activity while including awareness for the problem of bullying. It doesn't fully succeed at getting that message across, however, and the game could certainly use improvements to its visual and audio components, as well as more variety to the repetitiveness of its levels.

Rocket Fist takes the physics of billiards, the rules of dodge ball and puts them in the context of a small robot that is being chased by a virus which took over its production factory...and it's fun, addictive, nerve-wrecking at times and could be even better if it was longer and had online multiplayer.

Next Up Hero consists of a frantic, difficult and demanding experience that's coated in a cartoonish and seemingly harmless art style. Its technical issues can harm the experience at some points and its control scheme does not always feel intuitive, which coupled with the game's requirement to be online at all times can create some elements of frustration, even if those looking for such a tough experience will still get the most of it.

99Vidas is a beat'em up that's competent at following the genre's conventions and which exhibits an interesting art style and soundtrack. Regardless of that, there are several elements which harm the game's experience, including some frustrating gameplay elements and a feeling of repetitiveness which make 99Vidas less enjoyable on single player modes.

Xenoraid follows a different path to most shoot'em ups and that is something to praise. The game features plenty of fast action that forces the players to be well prepared but its difficulty conditions, more based on restricting the player, end up harming the game, which too many times feels very constricting.

Mario Party: The Top 100 is a blessing and a disappointment at the same time. If the game should be praised for bringing some of the best minigames of the Mario Party series to the 3DS and features a long lifespan with very good control systems, it also focuses a lot less on the multiplayer component and feels like it lost some of its "party game" qualities.

It goes too far on the price tag, which is way too high for a game with the contents of Teslapunk and which creates expectations that end up not being a met in a game that despite its fun aspect, could very well be much better.

It's more accessible to new players, provides a good speed sensation and the career mode is better implemented. However it leaves the impression that it didn't go all the way in its job to improve the experience compared to the original and the result is a game that is inconsistent on its performance and has a visually poor environment.

EarthNight does not stray clear from its origins, this is a simple and unpretentious endless runner that originated in mobile platforms and it does a decent job at that. While the gameplay experience is rather limited and does not elevate EarthNight to any celestial levels, those who enjoy endless runners will find a good time with this work.

Armikrog is a point & click game that features remarkable stop motion animation in a world made of clay and with a consistent level design. Despite these points in its favour, Armikrog could make a more extensive use of its characters and rely less on memorizing its puzzles by heart, something which the players will find themselves doing too often thanks to the lack of leads or hints in the game.

It doesn't have the ambition of going beyond the nostalgia target-group, however, and it could certainly use some more work when it comes to level design and to its lacklustre soundtrack but for those looking just for a revival of an early 90s platform shooter, Rad Rodgers gets the job done.

Doughlings Arcade certainly feels fun on short term basis, with its simple and accessible gameplay inspired by older classics. It does not succeed all the way through, however, and it quickly becomes visible that the game repeats itself too often, causing the same feeling over and over again. While it may be enjoyable during some quick sessions, it lacks on long-term appeal, even with its level editor and online rankings.
