The game ends up feeling less of an achievement when looking at some aspects of gameplay, namely at how The Low Road feels that it clings too closely to the formulas of classic point and click games, with consequences for the players enjoyment.- FNintendo

Galaxy Champions TV for the Nintendo Switch is a fun twin stick shoot'em-up that brings a lot of frantic, intense action with a sharp sense of control. It also chokes the player with its rapidly-rising difficulty level, which quickly reaches overwhelming heights with many frustrating moments. Were it not for that challenge imbalance, Galaxy Champions TV could become an instant classic within its genre but as it is, it's a fun but excessively punishing work.- FNintendo

Cat Girl Without Salad: Amuse-Bouche is an unusual game, based on the formula of a shoot'em-up but with plenty of elements of other genres, and which does several things right - its original ideas, humor-filled dialogue and colourful outlook stand out as its main assets. On the other hand, its very short lifespan, high selling price and rather quick way with which it will feel like a done experience will not attract many players to this new arrival on the Nintendo Switch catalogue.- FNintendo

The main mechanics are all there, this time with the additional factor of online multiplayer, which can lead to intense moments of bedlam across territories. What it offers in ambition, though, it lacks in innovation and graphical quality, with very modest visual and sound environments and a resolution that can be problematic in the first model of the Nintendo 3DS.- FNintendo

Affordable Space Adventures is an example of a game which is competent and creative enough to keep the player focused on it for a while, but whose technical limitations, slow pace and lack of compelling rewards turn it into a rather dull effort after a certain amount of time.- FNintendo

Picross e6 brings a significant increase of the amount of puzzles to solve and while in many games, bringing more of the same can make them dull, in the case of Picross it's actually welcome. On the downside, the innovation that was present in previous titles seems to be less prevalent on its sixth iteration.- FNintendo

As far as action RPGs go, Yaga is a simple but competent effort. Thanks to an intuitive gameplay and to its art style and plot, Yaga can certainly answer to those looking for a simple but fun experience. Pity that it cannot fulfill more of its potential, as its combat is too superficial and the exploration too linear, while its luck system needs a better calibration and the HD Rumble feature should be set aside altogether.- FNintendo

As laudable as it can be in storytelling and in presenting a solid narrative which gives its players a few clear choices of what to do next, Hakuoki: Memories of the Shinsengumi offers little in terms of gameplay and challenge. By attempting to be a hybrid between a book and a game, it ends up sacrificing interactivity to a level which will put off many players.- FNintendo

Crimsonland is packed with gut-wrenching action and features plenty of weapons and elements that will keep up to four players interested for some time. It doesn't go too far on its level design, however, as the game becomes too repetitive and lacks some truly innovative elements.- FNintendo

Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers keeps the classic gameplay that has become the hallmark of this timeless 2D fighting series and boasts a competent online component. Unfortunately, the lack of innovations, two additional modes that make no difference at all and a completely disproportionate price tag mean that it cannot be considered as the ultimate version of Street Fighter II.- FNintendo

Mercenaries Saga Chronicles brings a compilation of the first three games of the series to the Nintendo Switch and as far as tactical RPGs are concerned, they present an interesting and enjoyable gameplay with plenty of variety amidst the characters. Unfortunately the game does not leave its comfort zone and does not introduce any new elements that could make it stand out among its peers, with the aggravating factor that its plot is simply not compelling enough to command any interest among the players.- FNintendo

Dusty Raging Fist is a beat'em up for the Nintendo Switch that has a lot in common with its classic predecessors of previous eras. What it doesn't do in terms of breaking new grounds, Dusty Raging Fist delivers a simple, enjoyable experiences, with a captivating visual environment and a good three-player co-op mode, while some aspects of the fighting techniques and leveling up of characters could use some improvement.- FNintendo

The result is best described as a mixed bag: while the game features interesting characters, a degree of freedom that will have the players eagerly exploring the game world and multiple endings that act as an incentive to pick it up again, its technical performance is everything but a success. Indeed, Disaster Report 4 often feels clunky and clumsy and while some players might be able to look past this, others will not.- FNintendo

Code of Princess EX is back in what promises to be an ultimate version. The result falls behind the promise, due to its graphics that are not up to the original game's quality, but Code Princess EX does have some assets of its own, including the plot's humour, which is not to be taken too seriously, and the wide variety of movements and characters to choose from, which will satisfy the players' curiosity.- FNintendo

Its concept is simple enough to allow nearly everyone to start playing quickly, the soundtrack is quite good and it's fun enough to entertain for a while. However, the game does not have enough content to keep it on its legs and its unbalanced difficulty levels, as well as some technical problems, make it a less-than-fundamental choice in the Wii U's catalogue.- FNintendo

PictoParty is based on the classic Pictionary and it delivers what it is expected of it: it's a fun word-guessing game that ensures a good time with friends and family. It doesn't, however, clearly stand out from other similar titles in the Wii U catalogue and its lack of online mode make it less appealing than it could potentially be.- FNintendo

Shining Resonance Refrain brings an RPG from the previous generation into the Nintendo Switch catalogue and while the game is full of content and features well-crafted characters and a simple battle system, it also fails to fulfil all expectations due to its cliché-ridden plot and less motivating exploration. RPG fans will still draw a valuable experience from this but Shining Resonance Refrain doesn't really stand out from other similar games already available.- FNintendo

This is a competent game that does its job right and creates something that can be enjoyed on a rather simple level. It does not fend off a feeling of repetitiveness, though, as eventually the players will start feeling that they are doing the same actions over and over again.- FNintendo

Steel Empire brings back a 1990s 16-bit shoot'em up with an added 3D effect. It's a classic shooter of its day whose gameplay benefits from the three dimensional effect of Nintendo's handheld. Where Steel Empire falls short is on its length, which will disappoint many contemporary players who expect something longer as far as its lifespan is concerned.- FNintendo

SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy is not going to reinvent the fighting game genre and it certainly lacks content and feels too superficial but it also manages to be fun and appealing to fans of SNK fans and features good amounts of humour that will keep the game enjoyable, especially when it comes to the characters' interactions with each other.- FNintendo

Jake Hunter Detective Story: Ghost of the Dusk brings some interesting elements for fans of visual novels and murder mysteries thanks to its appealing art style and content to explore. It does not fully live up to the genre's reputation, though, as the challenge level falls short of expectations an the feeling of progression in the game's plot lacks consistency.- FNintendo

Runbow is a delightfully fun multiplayer experience that brings together racing and platforming and where the gameplay is centered around colour. The execution of its mechanics is laudable and its unlockable content will provide fun sessions for long hours. It does miss out on its single player mode, where the experience feels much lonelier and its online mode could use some more appeal.- FNintendo

Less of a game and more of a fitness application, Fitness Boxing is fun and competent at what it does, and provides many ways of customizing the experience to the player's taste. While its soundtrack is far from being the most fitting to its theme and the motion capturing does not always translate what the player actually does, Fitness Boxing's variety and added handheld character make this a fun and entertaining experience as far as fitness games are concerned.- FNintendo

Excave II successfully addresses some of the shortfalls of its predecessor and improves on gameplay, graphical environment and variety of items. Nevertheless, its price - double that of the original game - does not seem fully justified and the lack of a structured and coherent narrative is still a shortcoming for a game that could certainly benefit from more ambition.- FNintendo

Super Weekend Mode on the Nintendo Switch seems to suggest it is a fun experience for some weekend gaming time, and that is absolutely correct. With its unpretentious and unambitious ways, Super Weekend Mode is competent enough to allow for a few fun hours. It doesn't venture into a complex experience but that's hardly a deadly sin.- FNintendo

Life of Pixel does a fine job at recreating the nostalgic environments of videogaming from the 1980s and 1990s, with all the references in the rights places and the visual and sound aspects that go with the job. However, its level design suffers from imbalances when the experiences become too repetitive and the gameplay too shallow, which harms the overall feeling of insertion into a 1980s and 1990s gaming setting.- FNintendo

Kotodama: The 7 Mysteries of Fujisawa brings some recognizable elements to this visual novel and its visual presentation and interesting characters will prove to be appealing points. The same thing can't be said, however, for its overly simplistic puzzles, repetitive soundtrack and especially, its plot gaps, which stand in the way of forming a meaningful, coherent story.- FNintendo

If this production is certain to appeal to like-minded fans, it's less likely to have an impact with those that are not so keen on the genre, especially when it brings nothing that's really new and when many of its combats are based on chance.- FNintendo
