The Banner Saga 2 is an interesting and varied game in the tactical RPG genre that comprises a visually stunning world and a great variety of environments. It doesn't fully supplant its predecessor, though, as it becomes visible that this second entry acts more like a bridge towards a next game and it sends off the idea that there's plenty of potential that should have been developed at a greater level.

Dreamals is a surprisingly fun and addictive head-scratching platformer, riddled with puzzles that will keep the players captivated for the length of its eighty levels. It falls short of expectations on its visual and sound environments, nevertheless, as it could certainly use a more stable framerate and a more varied soundtrack, not to mention some interaction with the Wii U GamePad but fans of puzzling platformers will find reasons to enjoy Dreamals.

Senran Kagura Burst is tailored to a very, very specific segment of the audience who will appreciate its peculiar humor. For other parts of the audience, there's the enormously disproportionate cartoonish female breasts, but a game cannot live off that alone. A flawed frame rate that becomes incredibly frustrating at some points and excessive repetitiveness make this a passable offer, to be considered only by those attracted by the game's humor and style.

Johnny's Payday Panic may not be revolutionary in what it proposes but it does include a simple and fun gameplay systems which makes it an addictive and entertaining game for some quick and quirky moments.

It doesn't fulfill all its promises, however, as the lack of guidance can make the experience more frustrating and there is not enough variety regarding the puzzles to keep the players entertained for a long period of time.

GIGA WRECKER Alt. brings a good dose of action, platforming, exploration and puzzling to a metroidvania style of game. Its threshold doesn't go too high, as the game is not an instant classic or a ground-breaking gem but GIGA WRECKER Alt. does a decent job at providing a fun and enjoyable gameplay experience.

Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3 sticks to the formula of the series and doesn't go beyond that. Its contents and character exchange mechanism are worthy of praise but it quickly becomes repetitive and the different modes don't show that much difference between them.

Corpse Party: Blood Drive can be summed up as an experience that both thrills and frustrates. If the gameplay often feels maladjusted, with a lack of guidance given to the player and the unexplainable use of 3D models being very difficult to justify, the plot and writing easily stand out as exquisite and very likely to grab the player's attention and concentration for long hours, two absolutely vital elements for a visual novel.

Go Vacation tries to be a fun summer game and it certainly has some elements going for it, such as the exploration possibilities and the multiplayer options. It's also impossible for the game to hide its origins in a previous generation and after a while it becomes apparent that Go Vacation puts quantity above quality, as the experience will soon enough become less compelling than players might think.

Cybarian: The Time Travelling Warrior may be another game that rides the retro revival wave but while there is nothing unusual about this, its premise and plot are full of absurdist and oddball elements. If the audiovisual environments and boss fights are quite enjoyable in Cybarian, there are points which could have benefited from extra work, such as the combo system and the placement of checkpoints throughout the levels.

For its short ambitions, AiRace Xeno delivers…But beyond Time Trials and online leader-boards, there’s very little else this sequel provides. While there are some clear improvements over the original and this game manages to pull the 3DS graphical capabilities very well, the borderline is drawn very close to the starting point and perfectly in line with its very light price tag.

It doesn't fully capitalize on these factors, however, as the game's theme gets repetitive too quickly, the feeling of speed is absent and loading times are way too long, which coupled with a rather mediocre soundtrack, means that this All-Star Fruit Racing does not reach the same threshold as the biggest name in kart racing games.

Thanks to an original level design and to an interesting cooperative mode, this turns out to be a rather fun effort when played on short gaming sessions. Overall it could feature more attention to detail on some elements, not to mention that its soundtrack needs serious improvement and its fluidity problems need to be addressed.

Fun and involving enough to be compelling, Cocoro - Line Defender's only obstacles are its repetitiveness which gets excessive at some points and its unbalanced difficulty level. If these issues were addressed, this would be a fine strategy for Nintendo's handheld, as all the other elements attest to that.

Touhou Genso Wanderer Reloaded adds to the Nintendo Switch catalogue a game that is based on dungeon crawling, slapped with a roguelike formula. If the exploration is very challenging, even merciless at times, and features quite a wealth of weapons and objects to catch, the difficulty can reach too high peaks. The most obvious collateral damage is that it will be mostly fans of the Touhou series who will dedicate themselves to the game, while newcomers will feel put off by the difficulty and rather repetitive combat. A decent formula but which could do more to reach out.

Chompy Chomp Chomp Party is a simple but fun and addictive party game that will bring back many memories of Pac-Man. It's not very ambitious and could have more content but this doesn't stand on the way of a nine-player experience that will get groups of players around the Wii U for some very fun moments.

Its characters are well-presented, the narrative is fun and there's potential to the fighting system but the game overall lacks polishing, some of the mechanics become dull quite quickly and the difficulty curve needs a serious readjustment.

88 Heroes: 98 Heroes Edition features plenty of variety in terms of characters and comical overtones that are certain to become the target of the players' affection. What it doesn't do so well is a creative level design, as well as the way the player's characters die and how the game handles their loss of all of them.

Thanks to its well crafted gameplay and a high quality visual environment, Furi will certainly please veteran fans of more old-school styles of play. Where it fells short is when it come to its difficulty level, which often feels too frustrating and its lifespan, which turns out to be too short.

Viviette's art style and visual environment, as well as the plot, are its greatest assets and major contributions at stimulating the player for exploring the game's world. Where Viviette falls short is when it comes to keeping the player's interest for longer periods of time, due to its repetitiveness, inconsistent difficulty level and rather short lifespan.

Rebel Cops was designed with fans of tactical action games in mind, namely those looking for new approaches to the genre - the game's open missions and incentives to take them in varied ways testifies to that. On the down side, its punitive and merciless difficulty risks alienating other audiences and a poor plot ends up harming the experience for those who enjoy some background story with their games.

Little Dragons Café starts from a good principle and its no-pressure approach, coupled with an open and varied world are worthy of praise. Unfortunately it gets too dull and repetitive too soon and the lack of pressure in taking decisions ends up harming the game's sense of direction- Not only that, the game's visual environment needs a lot of improvements and overall, it just doesn't do enough to captivate its players.

Just Dance 2020 keeps the formula of the Just Dance series that so many people love and that's the game's main asset. It's also its biggest liability, as the game shows too little in terms of new, relevant content to stand out compared to its closest predecessors. This is a very fun game with new, updated tracks but for those who subscribe to the Just Dance Unlimited service, owning Just Dance 2020 will turn out to be redundant.

Dillon's Dead-Heat Breakers is part of a series of games that had not seen a new iteration for several years and when compared to its predecessors, this certainly feels like an appealing, refined and fun experience. Unfortunately it's also too repetitive, which ends up becoming its biggest issue and its price does not seem fully justified for what this game is offering.

Cut the Rope: Triple Treat is not harmed by its gameplay, its controls or its technical aspects. What keeps it from being a more prominent and recommended title for those who seek short, fun gaming sessions, is its business model. A compilation of three games, including two previously released on the mobile market, does not justify its high price tag.

Long-time veterans of the series will enjoy the new puzzles in this entry while newcomers will benefit from the game's progressive difficulty curve and three different difficulty levels. While Picross e7 does little to distinguish itself apart from its predecessor, it's certainly competent at its job and worthy of hands on.

With a merciless difficulty level and an incredibly long lifespan, Cubit The Hardcore Platformer Robot HD is pretty much what its title describes. The Mysterious Cities of Gold: Secret Paths is yet another example of an entertaining game based on a popular television series…entertaining, but flawed, as it does not make proper use of the 3DS, starting with the lack of a 3D mode, added to an overall feeling of repetitiveness. Still, it’s an effort that can be enjoyed by fans of the series, but not a trailblazing or groundbreaking piece of work.
