    Excave II is a classic JRPG style dungeon hack and slash game wherein you take the role of one of two adventurers, tasked with returning order to a progressively more chaotic city.

    Each adventurer has their own attacking style and hundreds of items and weaponry to discover!

    Unlike other RPG's, there is no leveling up system, instead the player's equipment determines how strong they are - find legendary weapons to smash your way through!

    Excave II is a safe sequel with shares a lot in common with its predecessor, but with some very nice refinements made to the formula. Inventory management is much easier, using healing items while fighting is no longer a dangerous affair, and the variety in environments and weapon types has expanded even further.

    Excave II successfully addresses some of the shortfalls of its predecessor and improves on gameplay, graphical environment and variety of items. Nevertheless, its price - double that of the original game - does not seem fully justified and the lack of a structured and coherent narrative is still a shortcoming for a game that could certainly benefit from more ambition.

    Excave II: Wizard of the Underworld is a better game than the original, but that isn't saying much since they are both very boring and tedious hack 'n slash dungeon crawlers.

    At the ten dollar price tag, Excave II is highway robbery. There's just nothing here for RPGamers that they haven't seen and/or experienced in a better form.
