The rebirth of *Screamer*—in the form of a futuristic, cyberpunk-themed arcade racer set in the distant future—has truly won us over, delivering some of the most carefree hours we’ve spent with racing games in recent years. Its enjoyable handling model, lengthy Story mode populated by memorable characters (though, admittedly, this mode suffers from a few structural and pacing issues), and inspired art direction make it a highly recommendable title for any fan of the genre, regardless of their prior experience. It is a game born of an old-school development philosophy—one that has been modernized and made appealing once again to an incredibly diverse audience. While a few issues persist regarding track design and certain mechanics that feel less polished than others, by and large, this marks another bullseye for the Milan-based studio.

It is difficult to have anything to complain about the MotoGP 22 content offer: there is everything the two-wheel enthusiast could wish for. The addition of the NINE Season 2009 mode is great and will be greatly appreciated by fans of the Doctor, while the return of the split screen will make many old school players happy. If in MotoGP 21 the Milanese team had followed the path of accessibility, in the 2022 edition it seems to have focused more on simulation, with a decidedly solid playful set-up, yet not without some uncertainties both in terms of gameplay and on the visual front.

The unbalanced difficulty and the monstrous power gap that separates the common monsters from the tough bosses could represent a big obstacle for users who are mostly interested in the story and unwilling to devote themselves to grinding body and soul. Conversely, players who are orphaned of the high level of challenge that characterized old-school products will find their match in Bravely Default II and in the deep customization of the party that the title includes in their arc. So arm yourself with courage and set off in search of the Elemental Crystals together with the four Heroes of the Light.

Crysis 3 is one of this year's masterpieces. The single player Campaign is revamped with a lot more variety and mature storytelling, while the competitive multiplayer brings the best of Crysis 2 with special focus on map design and some additional new features (like Hunter Mode). Definitely one of the must-buys of 2013.

Worms returns with its load of humor and strategy, in a chapter that will please both the traditionalists and the newcomers. The classic 2D formula is still fun, but we have the introduction of new features (crafting , vehicles and buildings) that renew the original gameplay of the series.

As lovers of the narrative aspect of Hidetaka Miyazaki's work rather than the high level of challenge regardless, we struggled to fall in love with Eldest Souls. Because, while trying in some way to mimic the fragmented writing cleared by From Software, this experiment fails to be evocative in the same way.

Destiny is an amazing start for Bungie. It has this impressive gameplay, confined in an MMO structure. Don't look for an epic story, because you won't find it. You will find a great amount of content and a vast and beautiful universe, an addicting multiplayer and some room for future improvements.

WWE 2K19 is the best installment in the series.

The first Disgaea is still today a work not to be missed for any reason.

Ultimately, Call of Duty Warzone Mobile represents what is currently the most complete experience for fans of the series. Completely free of charge, it is possible to play the two most popular Warzone maps and access classic multiplayer without having to purchase a premium chapter of the saga. Too bad only for the poor optimization for devices that are not too recent and for the excessive consumption in terms of battery, problems that cannot be circumvented by installing the game on a PC.

MotoGP 19 seeks above all to refine the already excellent gameplay of the previous iteration, without getting lost in particular virtuosity and bringing home an overall very positive result.

We say it immediately and without too many turns of words: MotoGP 20 is the best game in the series and, in our humble opinion, one of the best two-wheeled racing ever.

With the only real drawback of the length, Spec Ops: The Line manages to establish itself as a well made videogame, offering a couple of enjoyable hours.

EA Sports FC 25 confirms the solidity of Electronic Arts' modern gaming and content proposal, in a chapter that is starting to show signs of a long-desired revolution. The main game modes do not offer any particular innovations, but are still more integrated with each other thanks to a unified progression system and Rush, which acts as a minimum common denominator integrating equally between Career, Ultimate Team and Club. Volta's replacement is in fact more effective and focused than its predecessor, although in cooperative matches it turns out to be quite confusing and frenetic. In any case, the substantial difference this year is in the gameplay, which maximizes the technological achievements obtained thanks to HypermotionV, FC IQ and Cranium for a more realistic, immersive and engaging digital football experience than ever before: finally, thanks above all to the improvement of Team Tactics and Player Roles, FC 25 embraces a more strategic idea of ​​football and less focused on full-throttle speed. Another small and significant step forward towards the definitive leap in quality.

It's a rushed conversion work, with a lock on the frame rate, and a couple of graphics adjustments. Not enough to call it a full remaster, and that's a real shame.

It's an interesting and sometimes weird mix. Metroidvania purists might find it unusual, but the gameplay shows some qualities.

The obvious flaws of Sable eliminate the possibility of presenting all these ideas in a coherent and engaging adventure from start to finish. The open structure of the narrative and gameplay, however, allow to calibrate the overall experience on the user's desire to immerse themselves in a story that is as fascinating as it is imperfect.

WWE 2K22 will not enter the elite of wrestling simulations made up of WWF No Mercy, WWE Smack down! Here Comes the Pain and WWE SmackDown Vs. RAW 2006/2007, but it can play with the best versions of the Take 2 / Visual Concepts combination. There's no shortage of bugs, glitches, roster issues and other glitches, but WWE 2K22 is really fun to play - that's what matters most.

With the hope of one day being able to witness the announcement of a true remake of Raziel's epic, The Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 1&2 Remastered manages at least to attenuate the nostalgia of the fans of the first hour, with a rich package of extra content and the possibility of reliving, at a modest expense, two games that have made history.

A deep dive into retro adventure games: one clever and entangling adventure from the apparently bland start to one of the two different epic endings.

Tales of Kenzera: Zau is yet more proof that the metroidvania genre can offer great satisfaction, whatever story you try to tell. The one written by Surgent is a story of loss and revenge which, also thanks to the immense charm of the chosen setting, will remain seared in your memory for a long time. Not all the playful elements of the combat system seemed equally effective to us, and we would have liked more depth into Zuberi's character. That said, if you're a fan of the genre or just want to enjoy a good story, then you shouldn't miss it.

Shift Extended is a fascinating game and definitely fun. Unfortunately, it doesn't reach excellence because of some defect attributable to the level design.

A great variety of combat styles is not supported by an interesting number of game modes and stages. The sci-fi atmosphere is great, but considering the lack of a single player campaign, GoD Factory: Wingmen will experience some problems in maintaining players' attention.

Recommend it to lovers of the genre.

In short, the purchase of this chapter is mainly recommended both for anyone who has never played the first Puyo Puyo Tetris, and for all those who see attractive and stimulating content in the presence of the online PvE rankings, in the new Adventure and in the Technical Battles.

A pleasant and light-hearted game, which should be taken for what it wants to be: a love letter to younger DC fans, also capable of winking at the more mature ones. From the gameplay point of view, we are faced with a product without too many ambitions, with recycled assets and a very soft challenge curve, yet the whole adventure flows with ease. Even net of the structural repetitiveness, Cosmic Chaos remains an ideal game for novice users, who will be able to enjoy a light and genuine experience with their beloved superheroes.

Both for the care with which the game world is created and for the quantity of content, Wuthering Waves struggles to compete with the market giants it tries to imitate. Net of some qualitative oscillations, however, the possibility of completely skipping the story and enjoying a very fun combat system within a darker context than that of Genshin Impact could be more than valid reasons to at least give it a chance.

Guitar Hero with a pop twist. Easy to play, suitable for party play.

Same formula, with Pokemons. It won't help improving your skills, but is a nice drawing activity for the younger players.

If RGG Studio had had the courage to dare and remove most of the investigative phases, the DLC would have worked infinitely better, thanks to a really good writing.

REPLACED is a feast for the eyes and ears. The world crafted by Sad Cat Studios is vibrant and magnetic—a place where getting lost amidst the details and references is a constant delight. However, the gameplay is not without its uncertainties. The platforming sections are generally well-designed but occasionally suffer from spikes of excessive difficulty. The same applies to the combat, which, over time, suffers from a lack of variety and a difficulty level that sometimes feels artificial. The result is a solid and effective experience, though one in which the visual quality ultimately stands out above the rest.

The "side-effect" activities, such as mini-games and social aspects, contribute effectively to the design of a play structure that could certainly tickle both the more navigated players and those who are looking for a fun, protein-like title.

Total War: Rome 2 is the real killer application for the PC, an unforgettable experience that will remain engraved forever in the hearts of those who give it a chance.

The long test to which we subjected Atelier Marie Remake: The Alchemist of Salburg unfortunately confirmed the reservations we had towards the product. The one created by Gust Corporation is a mere 1:1 scale remake of the title originally published in 1997 and only renews its graphic design, leaving its serious playful and narrative gaps unchanged. Although the introduction of the Unlimited Mode removes the annoying temporal limitations of the original Atelier Marie, today as then the story is in fact weak and far from engaging, and the side characters are mere archetypes. Bearing in mind that even the longevity is really insufficient by the standards of the genre, we suggest the purchase only to the most die-hard fans of the series, who in order to discover its origins may be willing to pass over its many flaws and the expensive ticket admission (€50). We are therefore of the opinion that producing a 1:1 scale remake of such an obsolete title was not the most sensible way to feed the progenitor of the saga to the new generations, which on the contrary deserved to be re-imagined in almost every aspect .

Mario vs. Donkey Kong is a valid remake of a great classic. The gameplay formula has remained almost unchanged compared to twenty years ago but, fortunately, it still appears quite fresh and fun. Despite an uninspired artistic direction, the NST title brings with it two completely new worlds, the hilarious two-player mode and the new Relax difficulty, which makes it accessible to a wide range of players. If you have never had the opportunity to get to know this peculiar spin-off of Super Mario or you simply want to relive the emotions experienced on Game Boy Advance two decades ago, this could be the opportunity you have been waiting for.

World of Demons is a fascinating, if not perfectly successful, experiment.

Knights in the Nightmare can’t be judged by numbers. It breaks the barriers between two different genres, melting elements and creating something really different. Sometimes it loses himself in the hugeness of the magnificent gameplay, but it’s a little sin, and the supporting elements, from the plot to the fantastic artistic direction, confirm the quality of the production. Hail to Sting, for the courage needed to innovate, and to Atlus, for taking the responsibility to believe in their vision.

The clashes with the basic enemies are satisfying and arduous at the right point, and the general design, removed some too obvious and uninspired tributes, knows how to be appreciated: what is missing are mainly a sufficiently interesting lore, some really memorable boss fights, and an overall a richer amount of content.

Despite its old-fashioned game mechanics, which include a good amount of grinding, Aion delivers a solid and entertaining MMO experience that truly shines as the players reach the engaging PvPvE aerial combats in the Abyss.

However, it must be admitted that the relationship between the two young protagonists is a driving force that should not be underestimated: the ability to educate Alvin Jr. and thus instruct the "new" generation, confronts us with the errors and difficulties of growth.

In short, there are some burrs, yet Bloodroots succeeds in its twofold undertaking: to pay homage to the original title of Dennaton Games by packaging an "action-without-respite" with its own identity. Warmly recommended for those looking for a valuable, fun and at the right price indie.

On a purely graphic level, more could certainly have been done, especially to hide the countless sharp edges of the polygonal models, but at least the portability offered by Nintendo Switch manages to partially mask the age and PS2 origins of the product. Net of a slightly obsolete structure and progression, RAIDOU Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army represents an unmissable opportunity to familiarize yourself with one of the most iconic protagonists of the ATLUS house, who unfortunately did not obtain the fame he deserved in the West. If you love the esotericism that permeates the Megami Tensai saga, this time you have no excuses for not making it yours.

Trover Saves the Universe is essentially a successful title, but without that surge that would have made it more memorable.

Super Chariot earns the title of best porting of the original game without too much effort, being able to count on a series of features - typical of Switch - nothing short of ideal for use in local co-op.

Contra Rebirth doesn’t represent a revolution in the actual gaming scene. Just because it doesn’t care at all. Contra is here, with its destruction, challenging gameplay and devastating fun: perfect for those who can appreciate it, the others could as well seek for something else, but not without knowing that they’re throwing away an option to see how much fun a good game can deliver.

The framerate problems shatter and destroy the game's whole structure. Its unbereable slowness hampers the gameplay and ruins the typical Harvest Moon experience. Animal Parade could have been among the best in the series: with those problems, it's one of the worst.

Noire remains a different experience: different in rhythms, in shades, in emotions in dance. Unique, and wonderfully imperfect.

Call Of Duty: Reflex Edition, despite being equal to Modern Warfare (except for graphics) is a really good game, especially for the multiplayer component and a few new innovations.

Even on a technical level, the work is not flawless: although the city has postcard views and sets up an atmosphere of refined elegance, in fact, some graphical updates show the side of obvious, yet never limiting, uncertainties.

It is precisely when exploration takes over mild combat that Axiom Verge 2 shines the most, revealing a "two-sided" universe full of details and secrets that is certainly worth bringing to the surface.

It's one of those "different" games, more an experience than a gameplay session. Still, it's unique in its own way, and it will leave something behind.

The combat system is indeed deep, but the characters are quite scarce. Fortunately, there's plenty of customization to back that up. Also, game modes aren't that varied, and that could spoil the fun for some players.

The first port of Emergency for iPad is a success: excellent choice to focus on 2D in order to simplify the approach to the game but at the same time not distorting the classic style, while offering a good level of detail.

Werewolf Within is one of the best VR games released so far and a huge surprise. Once you have found the right group is really hard to leave the match: every gaming session end after many hours and laughs.

Shantae: Half-Genie Hero is a great metroidvania financed by Kickstarter, with a solid gameplay, a stunning art design and also exciting platform sequences.

The debut of the Serious Sam Collection on the platforms of the now older generation is like the return of an old friend, one armed to the teeth and with a tendency to unleash such majestic explosions as to make the good Michael Bay pale.

SaGa is a niche series and Emerald Beyond does nothing to prove the opposite: the combat system deepens those JRPG mechanics that had already emerged in previous chapters and which are consolidated here, thanks to a strategic component that makes the clashes more fascinating . It's a shame that some battles appear unnecessarily verbose at times. Also valuable is the extravagance of some characters, which manages to stand out in a context in which many of the supporting characters end up being poorly characterised. The problems lie in the limited exploration, in a universe that is too bare and also in a very angular progression system. Fans of the brand will be satisfied with the high rate of replayability, but Square Enix will not be able to expand the community of the series. It's not necessarily a problem. The important thing is to be aware of the type of audience Emerald Beyond is aimed at.

The formula is the one you already know, so if you have grown tired of the saga, this chapter probably won't get you back in the game. On the other hand, Syndicate has some interesting twist and turns in the gameplay, it offers an incredible Victorian London to explore and some very well built missions along the way that will keep the fans busy for many hours.

An addictive and funny multiplayer is the core of the new Twisted Metal, which delivers a dark story-driven single player as well.
