The Lord of the Rings: Gollum unfortunately didn't turn out to be "my precious" and only rarely manages to captivate. Dramatic bugs and performance problems abound.

It's not the worst game I've ever played and I'm not even sure that, by year's end, it'll be under the worst three. It's just that, all in all, this is a version of this world that's ugly and desolate in all the wrong ways – and one that doesn't add an ounce of..., well, anything to the story or its characters. It is a mish-mash of commendable concepts and mechanisms that never really do anything for another, resulting in an experience as emaciated and lifeless as the cadaverous nemesis that haunts Kirkman's universe.

This has been done so much better so many times, the world just doesn't need Gaiabreaker.

In some weird way all of Lost Swords bad ideas remind you why you once loved the series.

In spite of or maybe even because of some of the gameplay barriers, I will remember my experience with it forever. I love it, I hate it and I love hating it.

As wonderful as it was, our past, with great games like the first Flashback, we'd better think about the future of this medium. Flashbacks like these are the last thing we need.

I never would have thought I'd say this about a video game, but Rollercoaster Tycoon 4 Mobile is just absolutely sickening.

It is a short, trashy and utterly trivial punch line to one of the more amusing running gags of past games trade-shows. Still, in a drunken co-op session with a pal you could do a lot worse than this. In some ways this is the game the second and third installment of the movie franchise deserved. That doesn't make it better, but you can't help but think that there's some success in that.

Long story short: In its current state, X Rebirth is just a sad affair.

When they announced a Call of Duty for Vita, people probably hoped for some kind of system seller. What they got instead is a catastrophic failure of a game that might well prompt people to stay away from Sony´s portable altogether.

    AMY
You could compile a massive list of all the shortcomings and outright failures Amy has to offer, but the message to you should be clear: Stay away!

There are a few nice ideas and funny moments in there, but in the end even the most hardened fans should pass this opportunity to visit Carthasis. (...) It´s kinda sad when even Uwe Boll's movie is more fun.

In this medium, you're better off knowing that your faves from the past are never really as good as your rose-tinted memories make you believe. Still, taking a look at this remake, you will be equally aware that they were rarely as bad as this.

So, is it trashy enough to gather a cult following, however tiny? Partly. The funnily deformed characters, gallons of bad pixel blood, choppy dialogue and the surreal scenes of arbitrary love-making do exude a certain broken brand of charm. But even these traces of unintentional hilariousness don't change the fact that actually playing Ride to Hell never is anything even remotely resembling fun.

Like Mirror´s Edge or inMomentum, it lives for those moments, where you seem to fly through the levels and can almost feel the breeze.

Everything there was minus the bugs. That has to be enough for one step up the score-ladder. Yes, but only because New Vegas doesn´t reduce itself to just more stuff, but also offers a high level of storytelling that even in RPGs can´t be found that often.

You don´t need From the Ashes if you think it'll add something relevant to the main plot. If you're looking for some background information, a new squad-member, a fresh weapon and a few war assets as well as outfits, it delivers exactly that.

The developers still have to work to turn this diamond in the rough into a brilliant cut. But even so, Carte managed to make me feel like a true geek. Maybe I will even get myself some real cards next time.

Do yourselves a favor and continue to keep this as far away from your hard drive as possible. Even the most world-weary of trash and simulation enthusiasts should only give this a go if they're in desperate need to get rid of 20 bucks and the window is either broken or not in reach.

A good bullet hell never really gets old...It's not an essential even if you are a fan of the genre. But still, for an almost ten year old action title, this one has remained surprisingly young at heart.

Were this a free offer on a mobile device, maybe to tease a coming new The Dark Eye game, this would have right and reason to exist. As it is – for ten, respectively 20 bucks – it's just a deplorable exploitation of a well known name to sell people a shoddy product.

Its mysterious and amusing story facilitates an entertaining campaign, and the art direction is more appealing than in many other games of this type. But that's about all there is to Atrio. It's just lacking in complexity ... If you're looking for a pleasing start into the world of automation games, Atrio: The Dark Wild is for you. Experienced builders are better off elsewhere, though.

If you're open to its striking retro looks, you're in for a competent turn-based tactics game that's fought mainly in the defensive. Which feels right, as these giant monsters crush everything in their path. The desperation is palpable until you fend off the beast in the nick of time. Well worth a look for fans of the genre.

You can see the love for the topic in Swordsman VR. However, this does not make it a good game. The possibility to duel with human opponents would make a big difference, but that is not available here.

Tortuga: A Pirate’s Tale is solidly entertaining and affordable pirate-fare. I do miss adventures on land and some of the longer trips lack excitement, though. Pirates this is not. But then again, what is?
