Even though Sacred Citadel isn't an offensively bad game by any stretch, I find it hard to say anything positive about it. Sure, it can be pretty, isn't frustrating and works on a base level. But that's about it. Every mechanic is half-baked and heedlessly thrown in.

In Journey I bonded more with my playing partner than any virtual café ever could facilitate. Bientôt l'été feels like a few steps backward trying to mask its emptiness with pretty pictures and French language. It screams for attention, eager to appear stranger than the rest, just foundering in the process.

Going back to Arulco may not be the vacation of your dreams, but it´s still a worthy adventure. One that leaves a lot of possibilities for improvement, nonetheless, but if you´re into tactics it´s still worth your attention.

It's all good and well, but what does it help if the controls are imprecise, glitches abound and the save system gets on your nerves?

The atmosphere of the rundown City of Kowlong and the disgusting depiction of the Slitterheads show potential despite the outdated technology, but the game fails to create genuine horror. What remains is a somewhat stiff action game with horror elements that never really scare or disturb you.

Immersive gameplay, but only few interaction options. Winter Warrior delivers more of the same, but in a good way. If you don't set your expectations too high, you'll be well entertained for the 15 bucks.

It's totally okay that WRC 3 doesn't have the finely-tuned stylings of the bigger racing brands. Real rallying has become somewhat of an endangered species, so I'm fully prepared to even overlook the career mode that is all but completely absent here. Where a game like this absolutely cannot fail, though, is in the connection of car and road, which sadly is what WRC 3 does. Theoretically this could have been much, much worse, to be fair. And WRC 3 might even find some friends amongst the most starving of Rallye fans. But that's only because this is basically their only option right now.

I love the visual style of the game, so as an Asterix fan I can forgive it for not having a huge amount of depth to offer. In this respect, Asterix & Obelix: Slap Them All 2 should particularly appeal to fans, but it is also interesting for anyone who doesn't want to be overwhelmed by a wealth of game options or movesets.

As an old pen and paper enthusiast, I got the feeling that this would have been a better fit as an expansive campaign for the 'real' Dark Eye. That's where it could have been something really special, something with more staying power than this okay, but ultimately forgettable RPG.

Broken Roads lives up to its name, as it is teeming with breaks in both gameplay and content. And of all things, the interesting morality system disrupts the role-playing instead of deepening it.

Its core mechanics are solid and there's undoubtedly great moments, but these are watered down time and again by repetitive run-of-the-mill missions and tasks. Suicide Squad often simply becomes too mechanical due to its nature, instead of giving players some breathing room.

It´s a fun little miniature-golf-game, perfect to kill some time. It does nothing new, but that doesn´t mean it fails to entertain.

If drivers and tracks of 2014 matter to you, you can go for it. Otherwise just wait until next year, especially on the consoles.

Evoland lives off your nostalgia, which, in turn, is the only reason for you to keep on playing it. After the first 30 minutes, where the evolutionary steps come in entertainingly swift succession, the game actually stops evolving much, settling for a mixture of mindless fighting and lowbrow puzzles, chucking in the occasional graphics update. Also, it promises to be a virtual history lesson of the genre, only to perpetually being stuck on A Link to the Past and Final Fantasy VII. Evoland early on just loses track of what it set out to do.

Some of the old strengths are on display here, though. The characters are likeable, the world is still a sight to behold … But playing the stuff that normally gets visualized by a loading screen is hardly an exciting proposition. Fable: The Journey started out as a lie and now ends as an utter disappointment. What a waste of Lionhead's considerable talents.

Granted, Omega is as much a matter of taste and preference as the next DLC. It's a story of its own without big connections to the main plot and you'll definitely get the most out of it, if you fell for Aria and Omega in Mass Effect 2. I liked it for its great production values and a solidly balanced mix of story, character dialogue and often more open ended fights than in the main game. Though this is hardly a must-have, it is most definitely four hours of entertaining side content with interesting companions and a charismatic bad guy.

Kinect itself might be a more powerful device that before. But without developers that harness its potential, the games for it will not make any progress for yet another generation.

If you want to show off your new console's next-gen graphics, this entertaining romp is the game to get. It looks absolutely stunning in its effects and even the lush design of its world. Still, in the not-too-distant future we'll get games that look this good while offering considerably more depth than Ryse's beautiful, but ultimately shallow puddle of a brawler. And that are considerably more exciting.

Minor troubles aside, for about ten bucks you get one of the best Sonic experiences, and one that can and will keep you busy for weeks, if you're really want to see everything. If you can get past the camera issues, some control quibbles and the rather boring search for crystals, this will hook you like in the olden days. This reunion might bring with it some surprises, as your memory seems to play tricks on you, but it's still a worthwhile get together.

Technical difficulties aside, what you should take away from this is an astonishingly entertaining first four hours that are well worth the ten bucks, especially if you plan to play this with some of your friends. Enjoy two good evenings of entertaining and don't bother with the later unlocks. Instead, grab the starting weapon, upgrade the hell out of it and beat every map a couple of times until you eventually find it a bit tiresome and turn towards something else.

Karateka shouldn't cost 10 Euros, at least not in its current form, without any sort of challenge beyond the one it offers if you want to finish it with only one life. And even that isn't as challenging as it should be in such a short and completely linear experience devoid of any extras. Karateka is a game completely oblivious of its time and environment. Beautiful, fun even, for those few times you play it, but Karateka ultimately overstays its welcome all too quickly.

All in all Stray Blade is a passable game that plays well. Unfortunately, it doesn't make it easy for you to master its battle system, asi t never quite strikes a perfect balance. Furthermore, more variance wouldn't have hurt the fights, the story is okay at best and the fact that I can only create new equipment myself isn't really satisfying either.

The sailing and explosive battles are as enjoyable as this game's attractive backdrop. A shame that most of it is driven by dry resource collection to upgrade your ship.

Maybe the poison is in the dosage. This slightly frustrating and quite hard stealth game for patient players seems like it's more suited for a quick go in between something else than for extended sessions.

It's still a solid Nowitzki's wingspan away from being anything as good as 2K's series, but NBA Live 15 might actually be the most a sports game has ever improved from one year to the next.
