Jan 19, 2012One of those "sleeper" games that deserves attention. Zack Zero blends action and exploration in a beautiful world, and offers lots of value.

Jan 18, 2012After almost five years of work, Crocodile Entertainment finally launches its debut on PSN. Visually stunning, playable and challenging, Zack Zero is quite an homage to all platfomers from the third and fourth gen with a high level of difficulty, enhanced with a Jump mechanic not always well-implemented. An HD retro-vintage platforming jewel.
-
Apr 5, 2012Good ol' retro-style platformer with the highlights coming through level design and array of wacky enemy-types.
-
Jan 31, 2012But, dying is one of the essential parts of old school gaming. Just like jumping, shooting, breaking boxes, electronic beats, and bosses. And, if that's the kind of platform game you want, that's the kind of platform game Zack Zero is.
-
Jan 24, 2012Overall, Zack Zero does a few things well, but doesn't offer a very fun or satisfying platforming experience. Important parts of the gameplay like the actual platforming are flaky and the combat can be flat-out broken at times. I really wanted to like this game more than I did, but it just doesn't offer enough fun for any sustained length of time. It's impossible to recommend for a purchase at full price, and even if it gets a 50% off discount, it's a maybe at best.
-
Jan 27, 2012If I've ever heard of Zack Zero before reviewing it I must have forgotten all about it, which is actually not completely unplausible since this game is utterly forgettable. There is nothing terribly wrong with the platforming, puzzling and occasional fighting, it's just plain bland and predictable.
-
Feb 1, 2012Zack Zero feels like it was made by going down a checklist. Lava level? Check. Rudimentary puzzles? Check. Arbitrary baubles and hidden treasures to collect? Check. Boss fights at the end of levels? Check. There's no charm, save for the enemy designs and certain environments, and no sense of identity. The game alternates between being an unexciting, stale, middling affair, and being a somewhat broken game that hits some remarkably low lows. I don't know which is worse.
