Ninja Gaiden 4 is a great hack and slash game, highly challenging and filled with epic and bloody moments, and it will surely please longtime fans of the franchise who don’t mind playing as someone other than Ryu Hayabusa for most of the time.

Tales of Graces f Remastered is an updated version of a series entry that originated on the Wii, but only reached the West via PlayStation 3. With an interesting story that takes time to pick up pace, this chapter features some of the most complex and enjoyable combat and crafting systems in the franchise.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows shows Ubisoft can take fan feedback seriously, delivering a long yet engaging game. With strong leads like Naoe and Yasuke, it’s a must-play for series fans.

Kazuma Kiryu’s journey remains exciting, blending drama, brutal action, and touching moments with Haruka. Despite a few issues in the Portuguese localization, the game maintains its charm and delivers a memorable experience for both new and longtime fans.

Borderlands 4 is the entry in the franchise with the best gunplay since 2, and if you have friends to join you in exploring Kairos, it guarantees countless hours of fun. However, all of the game’s qualities end up being overshadowed by the technical disaster it is on PC, at least in the version we reviewed. Once those technical issues are overcome, longtime fans of the series will love it — and newcomers will too.

Capcom Fighting Collection 2 brings back games that were previously locked to old or hard-to-access consoles. This is an essential package for collectors and fighting game fans, offering variety, accessibility, and a comprehensive look at different phases of Capcom’s legacy in the genre. It’s just a shame that the work is rather basic, lacking the extra features some of these games received in their past console conversions.

Star Wars Outlaws arrived on the Nintendo Switch 2 after a lukewarm reception in 2024 but positively surprised in this version. Despite some graphical downgrades, the port stands out by using technologies such as Ray Tracing and DLSS, delivering impressive visuals on the handheld while maintaining a stable 30FPS performance. Even with the reduced population density compared to the PS5 and Xbox Series versions, the game ranks among the best ports ever released for the console. The only major disappointment lies in the physical Key-Card edition, which still requires a digital download.

Keeper is one of those experiences that isn’t for everyone, but if you approach it with an open heart you’ll find a fantastic game that blends several elements of what makes a strong narrative experience, managing to move you deeply even though not a single word is spoken throughout the entire journey.

Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut for PlayStation 5 is a new version that’s very similar to the PlayStation 4 release — for the most part, it’s the same excellent game. There were quality-of-life improvements, higher resolution, better responsiveness, a few new cutscenes, a rather dull horde mode.

While Konami only went slightly beyond the basics, Suikoden I&II HD Remaster is still a great way to experience two classic RPGs that have aged well and show the series’ former strength.

With a campaign that takes around six hours to complete, I didn’t enjoy my experience with Skate Story very much due to its weak story, the bugs I encountered, and gameplay that feels like it’s missing “something extra” to actually be fun. The impression it gives is that either the game clicks with you and you find it brilliant, or it doesn’t, and there isn’t much you can do about it.

Atelier Yumia is the most accessible entry in the series, with a strong open-world approach and solid story, though combat can feel repetitive. Lack of PT-BR may deter some potential fans in Brazil, but English-speaking JRPG fans will find a great experience here.

Marvel Cosmic Invasion is a super fun game to bring family or friends together in front of the console and beat up alien insects. If you want to relive those glorious days, this is the game for it — it’s just a shame it doesn’t offer that much content, especially after you beat it for the first time.

Tales of Xillia Remastered updates one of the entries that experimented the most within the series, though not always successfully. Well adapted to modern platforms, the game shows that Bandai Namco’s narrative has aged gracefully, but its excessive linearity may still bother more purist RPG fans.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves gets the basics right and is a fun game, but that’s not enough to live up to Garou: Mark of the Wolves or to stand on the top shelf of fighting games — and Cristiano Ronaldo and Salvatore Ganacci, instead of being meaningful additions, do the game no favors.

REANIMAL is a short and dark experience that retains the DNA of Little Nightmares, relying on heavy atmosphere, simple puzzles, and terrifying monsters. Focusing on cooperative gameplay, the game stands out for its art direction and immersion, but suffers from technical polish, bugs, and limitations in the post-game. Still, it's worthwhile for fans of the genre.

Persona 3 Reload is one of Atlus’ best RPGs and is definitely worth playing. The Switch 2 version has huge appeal for people who haven’t played it yet, as well as for those who want to replay it while lying comfortably in bed in handheld mode.

Shotgun Cop Man is a fast-paced, straightforward, and humorous experience that relies on a creative mechanic to offer something different within the 2D platformer genre. While it lacks enemy variety and more robust challenges, the game delivers fun moments, especially for those looking for something light and casual.

Enjoyable at first, Dynasty Warriors: Origins loses momentum with a dull story, repetitive late-game missions, and a slow, exhausting final stretch, but the game has a fun and engaging combat.

Dying Light: The Beast is a very fun game with a story that keeps you engaged in playing through the campaign, but it has two small issues that could be easily fixed and would make the game even better: the campaign progression that suddenly requires levels that are too high, and the artificial intelligence of the volatiles in campaign missions. Other than that, it’s a game that will greatly please those who played the original.

LUNAR Remastered Collection is a basic update of two RPGs in the best 1990s style, featuring beautiful animated cutscenes and charismatic casts. However, the difficulty of the battles may cause newer fans of the genre to take longer to appreciate the quality of the two available games.

Routine blends an ’80s-style science-fiction atmosphere with tense, visually striking exploration. Despite its outdated mechanics and low-pressure encounters, its well-crafted puzzles and lunar setting provide strong immersion. The game doesn’t reinvent the genre, but it delivers a solid experience for fans of atmospheric horror.

Kirby Air Riders delivers a unique racing concept with counterintuitive controls and innovative mechanics. The learning curve is steep, which contrasts with the character’s friendly appearance. The city challenge mode adds strategic depth but may confuse casual players. Despite being technical and fun, the game feels out of place compared to more accessible options in the genre.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment never truly shines at any point, much like most musou games, and it’s even somewhat dragged out at the beginning. Still, the game is fun and will certainly please those eager for more lore from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom — just don’t expect a particularly deep experience.

Sonic X Shadow Generations for the Nintendo Switch 2 delivers a fun experience that blends nostalgia with new content, featuring enhanced visuals, an all-new Shadow campaign, and well-crafted 2D stages — but it falls short of justifying the full price for those who already own the original, especially due to the lack of a free upgrade, excessive automation in 3D sections, and modest technical improvements.

The First Berserker: Khazan is a Souls-like with excellent combat and striking anime-style visuals, but its quest system and limited weapon variety may not appeal to everyone. Fans of Nioh will likely feel right at home.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond features good battles, solid visuals, and well-executed action moments, but it loses the classic essence of the series. Exploration is simplified, the excessive dialogue breaks the atmosphere, and the new mechanics add little to the gameplay. The result is a competent game, but far from the long-awaited return fans were hoping for.

Days Gone Remastered is a good game, although it falls short compared to other Sony franchises. However, the additions and improvements are too few to justify a new playthrough unless you have never played it before and are curious, or if you are a big fan of Deacon St. John's journey.
