3-in-1: a poor stealth game, a primitive adventure game and a boring action game. [01/2015, p.50]

Unholy’s puzzles are trivial, combat is very basic, and stealth elements are simply annoying. There’s also a seemingly tangled story which I stopped caring about after the first hour. Unholy had potential, but I feel like the developers weren’t entirely sure what kind of game they want to make and went overboard with excess ideas.

There’s little content here and gameplay is so simplistic that only hardcore fans set on unlocking Battleborn achievements will play longer than an hour. [07/2016, p.77]

The game is so devoid of any atmosphere that it just doesn't feel like Resident Evil. In addition, most elements of Operation Raccoon City are flawed in some way. [May 2012, p.75]

I didn’t expect much and I’m still disappointed. We were promised spectacular gunfights and breathtaking heists, basically an interactive gangster movie, but instead got a mediocre game with some interesting ideas (e.g. roguelike elements) that failed to outweigh dated overall design, awful AI and poor writing. Well, at least it has co-op.

Miracles do happen once in a while and No Man’s Sky proved that sometimes it is possible to get back on your feet even after a terrible failure. Right now though Fallout 76 is botched spectacularly on so many levels that even talking about this game is a waste of time. [01/2019, p.46]

I would situate this game somewhere between ‘acceptable’ and ‘not bad’. Developers had big ambitions and suffered a defeat, but in my eyes it’s an honorable defeat. [08/2014, p.56]

Somewhere under all that technical and gameplay-related mess you can catch a glimpse of good old Syberia, but overall the game is so poor that as a fan of the series it made me want to hurt myself. [06/2017, p.52]

When you’re playing with three other people, session includes 1.5h of watching others make their moves. It’s not a problem when you’re sitting around the board of the original Talisman game, chatting and laughing, but it doesn’t work too well in a computer game. Otherwise it’s a great adaptation. FNaF4 differs from the previous games and that’s good. I had a bit more fun with it but it’s still based on jump scares and that’s the least refined technique of scaring. [10/2015, p.73]

It’s neither a remake nor a remaster. Dream Diary is like a bold cover of a classic song, that uses the same themes but makes them more accessible, unfortunately intentionally losing some of the qualities that made the original piece unique. [05/2018, p.44]

After 15 minutes Daylight is no longer scary and makes you explore boring, very similar environments that in addition are procedurally generated in a mindless manner (e.g. a whole floor of bathrooms). [08/2014, p.64]

The development team failed to turn Stuart Black's concept into a complete, rich, deep experience that could offer anything apart from bare frantic shootouts. What's worse, Bodycount suffers from split personality disorder – on one hand it lets you wreak impressive havoc and on the other tries to hold you back with a skillshots system that requires precision. The game also recycles a couple of sceneries, the story is nonexistent and the multiplayer mode is very modest. [October, p.70]

Unlike Dynasty Warriors 9 released in 2018, Empires focuses mainly on free play. Battles took the form of conquering enemy fortresses – it’s a breath of fresh air, but the AI copes with this new premise poorly. The graphics are disappointing as well, but despite many flaws the game is highly addictive.

At first I planned to turn my whole review into a vivid description of all the bugs that Gods & Heroes charmed me with, like holes in textures, missing descriptions on the map, misguiding signposts, running through lava rivers unharmed, fighting hand to hand against an owl that was floating 30 feet above the ground or chasing a snake that managed to climb on top of some shed. What's even worse, God & Heroes looks awful. It should have never been dug up and resurrected by Heatwave Interactive – it reeks and its jerks poorly imitate life. [September 2011, p.66]
