I was pleasantly surprised by this film! I enjoyed the story, it was fun to watch the chemistry between the main characters and action scenes are well done. And the feeling that this is only a small part of a bigger story is definitely there,I was pleasantly surprised by this film! No idea what all these critics were on about. Personally enjoyed the movie, laying the groundwork, doing the MCU worldbuilding and what it sets up for future adventures. I make it plain and simple. The MCU died after Avengers: Endgame. There is a time for everything, but the time of the MCU is over. This is just an empty vessel of what once was. Safe your money.

The reasons behind the characters actions is completely random and never fully explained. They all get so little screen time that you are never invested in any of them. We only stayed for the end credit scene and even that wasn't worth it. Waste of time.… Expand

Eternals is a beautiful movie with heart and in 2 hours and 30 minutes does a better job of expanding on lore and setting up bigger things than unfortunately ZSJL did in a 4 hours (Still great, a 8/10 for me). This movie is the perfect length, it has jawdropping action, great comedy, and even twists that no one could have expected from the trailers. Chloe Zhao in my opinion is worthy to continue this series and has truly shined once again with such a heavy task on her Director plate. The Eternals themselves are layered and have their own desires and needs themselves and you will appreciate them all in their own way and feel you've taken a journey with them, the audience I was with seemed to enjoy every bit of it. The dialogue around this movie has been vile, especially by certain YouTube channels I will not mention but rest assured, the diversity here is not in your face and no one is here for "representation" sake. I cannot wait to see it again soon, it really blew me away and I left with the smile that I tend to always have walking out of a Marvel movie.. isn't that what its about?… Expand

I was really excited for this movie and went to see this with good expectations but nothing went as expected.

The flashbacks, when we had them, were coherent and clearly marked for audiences, making the plot more than easy to follow. I don't often disagree with critics, and when I do I can typically still see why they see the movies the way they do. But I GENUINELY cannot even fathom why this movie was panned the way it was. It is excellent. Character writing and cinematography is excellent. The story is, as I said, quite coherent, and is even engaging and enjoyable for audiences. The humor is great and doesn't overplay itself, and the relationships between each character is clear - no Eternal feels unimportant to the story (except for perhaps Makkari, which is unfortunate given her character was a blast). It does well to tease the future of the MCU, and it's the best movie in Phase 4 thus far.… Expand

It's beautiful and I'm sure most will like it. I think the pace was fine, the story starts quickly without too much introduction. At no point it felt slow or boring to me, there are no notable filler scenes and everything is there for something or for the characters' development, there is always something new to discover, a surprise or a twist. It kept always interesting to me. Wasn't expecting it but has a lot of action, although it works really well with the story and doesn't feel unnecessary.

It definitely falls outside the Marvel formula, it has a different and much more mature tone without childish jokes, although it's still funny and made me laugh (and my theater) several times. It's normal to forget that you are watching an MCU movie, it happened to me most part of it. It may not be everyone's taste but at least to me and my friends who watched it, it was pretty good.

It's a thought provoking movie, it doesn't tell you what's right or who the villain is, it's up to you from the perspective you want to take. Still considered the story is very clear and I don't think it's messy. I think what stands out the most is characters' development, they all are interesting and relatable, they have flaws as well.

I also didn't pay much attention to it because I was hooked on the story but it's visually stunning. The soundtrack is beautiful. The cast is perfect and they are very talented, every scene looks natural, and without question Chloe Zhao's direction is great. I really want to watch the film again.

I feel like it lacked something but not sure what, maybe it's because I had very high expectations but I'd give it 9/10.… Expand

And how deep, heartfelt connections are a decisive factor ; because love, in the end, is what matters and gives any life trajectory a more fulfilled feel... Even if this love takes you to your absolute demise, your existence will nonetheless have had a greater meaning and resonance with it...

The movie tackles major philosophical themes ; and through the intimacy of its diverse characters, resonates on a higher plane... Each of The Eternals live a personal tragedy and have to face their doubts, dilemmas and demons, existential questions that go way further than anyone's perception... But as a connected family at its core, they also show the most admirable and moving aspects of what it means to be alive and aware of this incredible world around us...

Probably the most gorgeous movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, virtuosically staged (congratulations to Chloe Zhao), every actor/actress fits his/her role perfectly, and they all deliver poignant performances. There are numerous deep emotional moments, in addition to all these striking epic sequences that obviously find their climax in the later parts of the movie (entwined with a heartbreaking dramaturgy that amplifies the emotional impact of it all). The score is a true gem and the entire production is a pure delight. Not a "Space Opera", but a "Mythological Opera"...

Definitely a Marvel movie that can't be compared to any other of the franchise... But from this little masterpiece of a movie, are seeds that open to numerous exciting possibilities ! Whether it is for each of The Eternals we've discovered and seen marvelously blossom all through this grand adventure ; but also for the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole and in its most extended sense !...… Expand

Most of the characters have a story and a defined personality wich makes them stand apart from the rest. Jokes are few but funny enough. Action scenes are grandiose.

Eternal will definitely be of great importance for the future of the MCU and is a must see to understand what will happen later whether you like the movie or not.… Expand

Es la película que más esperaba ver en los últimos dos años y valió la pena cada segundo y cada peso invertido, esto último lo digo porque fui a verla en formato 3D.

Las malas críticas que se generaron previo al estreno no tienen ninguna base objetiva que las avale. Es una cinta con una fórmula distinta a todas las películas del UCM, en donde la carga narrativa y argumental están por sobre el estilo, el humor absurdo y la acción abundante. Dichos factores van a dividir si o si a la mayoría porque no están acostumbrados a lo nuevo, pero si se tratase de cualquier Vengador clásico sería aclamada injustificadamente.

Dirigida por Chloe Zhao, quien en la pasada premiación de los Academy Awards se llevó la estatuilla a Mejor Director y Mejor película por Nomadland. Fue en esa película donde vi la pasión, el amor, emotividad, pasión y dedicación que Chloe le aporta a su trabajo y en Eternals no fue la excepción, su implacable talento hicieron de esta película una verdadera maravilla.

La historia es interesante, pero quizás un poco compleja como para abarcarla en una sola película y creo que tiene muchísimo potencial, se toma su tiempo para ser contada, es una película que dura casi 160 minutos, así que hay que tener paciencia y compromiso para poder disfrutar esta experiencia.

Los efectos especiales son espectaculares e impecables, en 3D es una locura para los ojos.

Los personajes, el pilar MAS IMPORTANTE de toda la película, todos y cada uno de ellos, ninguno sobra, ninguno es menos que nadie, pese a que no se desarrollan en profundidad, es más que suficiente para quererlos a todos y cada uno de ellos. Destaco a Gemma Chan como Sersei, hizo un magnífico trabajo, por otro lado está Richard Madden que cada vez que salía en pantalla se me dilataba el asterisco, pero fuera de broma también hizo un gran trabajo y su personaje fue uno de los más enigmáticos de la película, mención especial a Salma Hayek y a Angelina Jolie, que para mí fue toda una sorpresa verlas en este tipo de películas, aunque si siento que merecían más tiempo en pantalla del que tuvieron ya que sus personajes son de los más fuertes y sabios.

Hay cierto escándalo por la "inclusión forzada", al demonio, hay muchos matices en temas de inclusión en Eternals, pero yo la sentí muy normal y fluida, la diversidad que hay es muy acertada ya que ayuda a que el desarrollo de la historia sea más dinámico.

Llaman forzado a una Eternal que se comunica con lengua de señas y a una pareja homosexual, siendo ésta que interpretan una escena muy bella y tierna. No veo lo forzado, la gente debería dejar de ser tan cabrona y dejar de vivir en el período paleolítico.

En resumen: 10/10. Amé cada segundo … Expand

Eternal and immortal beings who have been around defending Earth from creatures known as deviants for over 7000 years find themselves in conflict with one another and contemplating their destiny/legacy and other such things when the deviants return to attack Earth again. Directed by Chloe Zhao (hot off her Academy Award-winning run with 'Nomadland'), this is a major misstep for the MCU in a surprising amount of ways. Incoherently jumping around time period after time period throughout, a confusing narrative, thinly-developed characters, surprisingly slow pacing and development throughout, etc. Really the only compliments I can pay this film is that it looks beautiful (the cinematography is gorgeous), and it's also one of the most emotional and thought-provoking MCU entries to date, which I did appreciate at times, but it wasn't near enough to save this mess of a film. Overall, it's an alarming decline in quality in what we've come to expect in the MCU. Oh and PS, the mid-credits scene cost this film a whole star for me, that's how big of a joke it was.… Expand
