Loves it. Marvel movies were starting to get a bit boring to me tbh, but eternals changes that. Please do not listen to the critics. They have absolutely no idea what they’re talking about. Does this movie have flaws? Sure, but it delivers big and is the most unique Mcu Film. Please judge it when you’ve actually seen it

Great movie overall. Timing, plot, character development and twists that for once, in a long time, were actually surprising. Chloe Zhao does a wonderful job on bringing something fresh not just to the MCU, but to comic books movies as aGreat movie overall. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This movie is breaking the typical Marvel mold and that’s okay. It is breathtaking in every since. With ten main heroes and the building of a whole new world within the current MCU, it was so well done. It goes back to one undercurrent of Marvel is that humans are good and deserve to exist, no matter their flaws and errors. The semi-lead character is played Gemma Cham & she is the soul of the movie. Every leader of the Eternals is a woman of color and they command respect. It also flips the script, similar to Captain Marvel, where the semi-lead man who turns against the other characters goal. How they frame where they are in various parts of human history is magnificent, it breathes life into our stories of the past, good and bad. It is funny but not as much as other established MCU storylines but the first round of character-establishing movies weren’t all comedy. I loved it and I can’t wait to see more from these heroes. Also HARRY **** STYLES MY WORD BLESS. CHERRY ON TOP, no pun intended.… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. In the grand scheme of MCU... where do Eternals exist? I can't connect the dot... don't see how it move the current MCU timeline... felt very disconnected and separated. Eternals as the almighty demi gods are not that powerful actually... Thor can beat all of them easily.

It took them thousands of years to eliminate the Deviants. Thor and Hulk can do same things in 5 years easily. Eternals should not exist in the MCU... but seeing it as a standalone movie without thinking how it relates to MCU... I really like the movie.

It's a high concept movie similar to Dune where it centers around theologies... kinda biblical approach in telling the story of how the universe and human beings were created and evolve. I also believe the writers are afraid to delve deeper in the theologies aspect because they need to put this movie within the MCU and this made the movie feel uneven and all over the place.

Overall I enjoy the movie... the fight scenes are amazing and THIS IS ANGELINA JOLIE movie... I don't care about other characters.. if Marvel decide to write off the movie from MCU because of the worst MCU reviewed movie status... I don't care BUT Thena should live on in the MCU... she have the best power set among the Eternals. If you approach this movie thru MCU thoughts, I don't think you gonna like the movie but it still a recommendation from me 7/10.

Black Knight is a great Marvel character... can't wait to see Jon Snow become The Black Knight. In the comics he's also a member of The Avengers.… Expand

My main concern regarding the Eternals had to do with the huge baggage they carried, and even for Chloé Zhao that turned out to be a barrier that she couldn't overcome.

There are too many explanations in Eternals and that slows the pace quite a bit, coupled with its long duration and lack of action, the film feels too irregular and its progress is stunted.

Yet I also have to mention the things that does right, and that is that, although it's still a Marvel superhero film, Chloé Zhao finally manages to shake up a bit the exhausted introductory formula for new characters that are coming to this cinematic universe.

Although it must be admitted that this is due to the complexity and scale of the story that is being told.
Marvel has opened a door as large as the multiverse by finally directly introducing cosmic entities that are simply larger than anything else the MCU has shown so far.
The possibilities are endless, you just need the ambition and the talent to exploit them.

The most solid point of this film is of course its cast. Even though the most important leading role falls to Gemma Chan, everyone involved is given the opportunity to show off.
Some to a lesser extent than others, but the cast is sufficiently balanced, although the shared humor came to feel too gratuitous after a while.

The visual is simply remarkable. I can't recall another MCU movie that can boast such excellent use of cinematography and lighting as this one.
There are a lot of visual effects, but only at some points the CGI and green screen are truly noticeable and not really problematic. Ben Davis' work is simply outstanding.

For the rest, I can only say that even with its problems, Eternals is yet another solid addition to the ever-growing MCU.
It knows how to balance its strengths and keeps the machinery greased and working.
It's still the same formula, but at least it has a little shake to it, and it doesn't feel so ordinary.
Predictable? Yes. Still entertaining though.

Now it is only necessary to see what plans Marvel will have for these characters considering the ending and the two post-credits scenes.
Time will tell.… Expand

As a woman it’s amazing to see women in the lead, and as a gay person I can’t tell you how excited I was when Phastos and his husband, Haaz, kissed (the first in the MCU) I got such a warm feeling in my heart! Great photography, great plot, a lot of well developed characters. Obviously not a perfect film, but for me, the things that didn't worked was some connections with the other MCU movies. This film was good, with great visuals, soundtrack, action scenes. My favorite characters are Thena, Makkari, Gilgamesh, and Ikaris. The chemistry between Makkari and Druig was great, too.

This movie is way better than the user score, news outlets are reporting that Hate Groups are review bombing the film on Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes in order to lower the score, and hurt the movie.. Just like with Guardians of the Galaxy, these are new characters that we need to be introduced too, please go see this film, and judge for yourself, don't give in to the Haters, or the fake reviews..… Expand

Definitely worth a trip to the theater to see this one. Grand and beautiful. Story is choppy at times and it suffers from a lot of the same weaknesses as other superhero movies but overall it offers a little something for everyone. I enjoyed a darker tone and more brutal, intense action sequences. I love this new family of characters and I found their relationships and personal dilemmas that they faced to be believable therefore fight scenes became more enjoyable since the stakes were high. Fights in this film are extremely dynamic and it's a lot of fun to watch. The only issue that I have is with comedy. Marvel films are known for belittling the drama by making fun of sad moments. Some people like it and some don't. I'd prefer to not have the drama ruining jokes that feel forced. It doesn't happen as often as in many other MCU which is nice. I find that these jokes are mostly funny but the price for them is too high. Also, Ramin Djawadi's score could be my most favorite of all Marvel films. It embodies heroism on a literal god level. Overall, I love Eternals and I hope to see more of them with Chloé Zhao returning to direct.… Expand

Heading in a different direction from what we have seen previously, Eternals brings the MCU into a new realm of story-telling that breaks away from the typical Marvel formula. A standout aspect of this film is truly its diversity with Chloé Zhao and the rest of the team behind this film truly pulling together a truly beautiful and diverse narrative which speaks to the heart moreso than it does the mind. After years of formulaic movies, Eternals takes the MCU in a new, more mature direction and it is refreshing to see. Chloé Zhao definitely succeeded in bringing a fresh  perspective into the MCU diverging from a story that is driven purely by the action and thrill of it all, to give us a story that has heart and love behind every aspect. As expected, this film was a visual masterpiece, where everything that we see manages to work alongside the story being told. The acting was amazing with Gemma Chan truly standing out and capturing the heartfelt essence that is driven by this film. Also, just to mention Angelina, a growing favourite of mine, who truly took the helm in each and every one of her scenes, bringing to life this strong and powerful warrior. The story itself definitely meets what it set out to achieve, however, it is also the key downfall point of the movie. Though it carries a lot of weight, the aspect where the movie fails is where they tried to incorporate maybe a bit too much story without truly figuring out how to go about making it fit into one cohesive puzzle. Overall, it was still an incredible watch and I cannot wait to watch it again. I would definitely go about saying that it makes it into my personal top 10 favourite Marvel movies!… Expand

A lot of things happen in this movie. It sometimes hard to process each revelation as they happen. This movie is undeniably different from the other mcu titles. Most of the characters have a story and a defined personality wich makes them stand apart from the rest. Jokes are few but funny enough. Action scenes are grandiose.

Eternal will definitely be of great importance for the future of the MCU and is a must see to understand what will happen later whether you like the movie or not.… Expand

I'm really glad i went to see it, because it turned out to be one of the best superhero films i have seen till this day (and i've seen them all, and i mean, all) - i would have compare it to Logan. It shows how large difference the actual director makes - the story is told with care and patience, the characters are played beautifly, the plot surprises are presented gracious, far from "we have a plot twist!" usual marvel attitude - i actually cared for the main characters, which is something i havent felt on marvel movies for quite a long time. Even if this love takes you to your absolute demise, your existence will nonetheless have had a greater meaning and resonance with it...

The movie tackles major philosophical themes ; and through the intimacy of its diverse characters, resonates on a higher plane... Probably the most gorgeous movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, virtuosically staged (congratulations to Chloe Zhao), every actor/actress fits his/her role perfectly, and they all deliver poignant performances. There are numerous deep emotional moments, in addition to all these striking epic sequences that obviously find their climax in the later parts of the movie (entwined with a heartbreaking dramaturgy that amplifies the emotional impact of it all). The score is a true gem and the entire production is a pure delight. Not a "Space Opera", but a "Mythological Opera"...

Definitely a Marvel movie that can't be compared to any other of the franchise... But from this little masterpiece of a movie, are seeds that open to numerous exciting possibilities ! Whether it is for each of The Eternals we've discovered and seen marvelously blossom all through this grand adventure ; but also for the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole and in its most extended sense !...… Expand

Not at all as bad as critics r saying it is, it's pretty good, not one of the MCU's greatest due to a slow first half but the 2nd half really picks up the pace and leaves u satisfied and excited for where the story might go in the future

I was pleasantly surprised by this film! I enjoyed the story, it was fun to watch the chemistry between the main characters and action scenes are well done. I think what people mostly take issue with is the fact that it doesn't do much in the ‘cliffhanger of the month' format that Marvel has been known for since the first Avengers film. It's a pretty standalone story, and it doesn't lend much to the future of the franchise other than the final five minutes of the film and the two end-credits scenes. Overall, I loved the film. Not deserving of the rotten tomato that the critics have collectively given it. The actors were great, and the cinematography as well. Not to mention a couple of milestones were hit in the inclusion department. Entertaining, funny, action-packed. What more do you need in this genre? I think the film in time will be among some of the more divisive entries in the MCU. But after two decades of similar fare, isn't it refreshing to get something a bit different? Who am I kidding, most audiences want the same format and concept delivered to them with very little wiggle room for experimentation to the formula and I don't see that changing anytime soon. Make no mistake, this is very much a Marvel film. With stakes and action sequences that remind us of why we love this franchise and its ilk so much. But this makes for a more emotional action move (if such a thing exists) and that's enough to drive some people completely bonkers. If the latter is you, maybe this isn't the film for you. But kudos to the director and the filmmakers and Kevin, of course, for having the cajones to embark on something as ambitious and different as this film, even though in the grand scope, it's not all that different from the larger MCU as some would have you believe.… Expand

It was pretty good. Besides being a bit too long and having some slow sections I really don’t understand the problem. Characters were interesting and compelling. Fight scene were cool. Cinematography was pretty fantastic.
