Normally I don't review movies, but I felt compelled to do so for this one to combat all the bogus negative ones. Most negative reviews complain how "woke" this movie is and that its political agenda is in your face. Most negative reviews complain how "woke" this movie is and that its political agenda is in your face. I don't think these people even saw the movie. There is no political agenda or message of any kind as far as I could tell. The only thing "woke" about it is that the cast is diverse. No one ever makes a big deal out of it during the movie or even mentions it at all, the characters are just who they are. If you have problems seeing non-white people on screen or (mild spoilers) a gay couple who *gasp* share a brief, non-romantic kiss, this movie is not for you. If, however, you are not a bigot, you will probably enjoy this movie.

The cast was excellent, and the story very engaging and interesting. This is not your typical Marvel movie, it doesn't follow the usual "Marvel formula" and not every character is a quip machine. That's not to say other Marvel movies are bad, I enjoy the heck out of them. But this movie stands out from the other movies as something completely different. You don't even need to be a Marvel fan to enjoy it, as it works well as a standalone sci-fi movie. I believe it might even be the first MCU movie since 2008's Iron Man to not feature a single character from a previous movie.

The only negative aspect in my opinion is the run-time. Two and a half hours is long for any movie, and this one isn't quite as action packed as say Avengers: Infinity War or Avengers: Endgame. It doesn't necessarily drag in any spots, but you will likely notice the length. The length, however, was necessary to introduce an entirely new cast of characters and explain their stories and motivations.

Overall, I would rate this movie a solid 8 or 9 out of 10. I am however giving it a 10 to help reverse the skew the bogus negative reviews gave it.… Expand

While I must say that this wasn't my favorite of the Marvel movies I must say that I was overall fairly impressed. Many characters and concepts were introduced and it greatly expands upon the Marvel cinematic universe. Overall the acting was superb and the set pieces were amazing. A lot of great characters were introduced in a very short amount of time, but I feel overall we were given a pretty good idea of them. All in all I think time will show that this was a much better film than it is being credited as because of the sheer depth of the content and concepts it was introducing. A good movie, but possibly doomed to never be great because it would honestly be better suited to television where the expanded timeframe would benefit the subject matter. Nonetheless I highly advised you check this film out if you enjoy Marvel films, there's a lot to love here.… Expand

But to finally compliment it, the cinematography was beautifully done and action sequences were dynamic and satisfying. The Icarus twist in the middle of the movie threw me off but in a good way. I felt genuinely hurt. Final fight of the movie did feel a little quick and easy but still enjoyed the battle between Icarus and the Eternals. Now for the good stuff; Mid-Credit scene threw me off since I had no clue Harry Styles was casted in the MCU. Can't say I'm hyped nor unhyped for the direction that goes in. Same goes for the Post-Credit scene. My friend had to tell me that was Blade's voice talking to Dean. Cool moment nonetheless. And to finish....Thanos in a way....was the hero.… Expand

This is a “setting up the next phase in the marvel universe” kind of movie. It did a really good job for a very lore dense movie, did not feel as if I was just reading dialogue or having lore being explained to me for half the movie. Es la película que más esperaba ver en los últimos dos años y valió la pena cada segundo y cada peso invertido, esto último lo digo porque fui a verla en formato 3D.

Las malas críticas que se generaron previo al estreno no tienen ninguna base objetiva que las avale. Es una cinta con una fórmula distinta a todas las películas del UCM, en donde la carga narrativa y argumental están por sobre el estilo, el humor absurdo y la acción abundante. Dichos factores van a dividir si o si a la mayoría porque no están acostumbrados a lo nuevo, pero si se tratase de cualquier Vengador clásico sería aclamada injustificadamente.

Dirigida por Chloe Zhao, quien en la pasada premiación de los Academy Awards se llevó la estatuilla a Mejor Director y Mejor película por Nomadland. Fue en esa película donde vi la pasión, el amor, emotividad, pasión y dedicación que Chloe le aporta a su trabajo y en Eternals no fue la excepción, su implacable talento hicieron de esta película una verdadera maravilla.

La historia es interesante, pero quizás un poco compleja como para abarcarla en una sola película y creo que tiene muchísimo potencial, se toma su tiempo para ser contada, es una película que dura casi 160 minutos, así que hay que tener paciencia y compromiso para poder disfrutar esta experiencia.

Los efectos especiales son espectaculares e impecables, en 3D es una locura para los ojos.

Los personajes, el pilar MAS IMPORTANTE de toda la película, todos y cada uno de ellos, ninguno sobra, ninguno es menos que nadie, pese a que no se desarrollan en profundidad, es más que suficiente para quererlos a todos y cada uno de ellos. Destaco a Gemma Chan como Sersei, hizo un magnífico trabajo, por otro lado está Richard Madden que cada vez que salía en pantalla se me dilataba el asterisco, pero fuera de broma también hizo un gran trabajo y su personaje fue uno de los más enigmáticos de la película, mención especial a Salma Hayek y a Angelina Jolie, que para mí fue toda una sorpresa verlas en este tipo de películas, aunque si siento que merecían más tiempo en pantalla del que tuvieron ya que sus personajes son de los más fuertes y sabios.

Hay cierto escándalo por la "inclusión forzada", al demonio, hay muchos matices en temas de inclusión en Eternals, pero yo la sentí muy normal y fluida, la diversidad que hay es muy acertada ya que ayuda a que el desarrollo de la historia sea más dinámico.

Llaman forzado a una Eternal que se comunica con lengua de señas y a una pareja homosexual, siendo ésta que interpretan una escena muy bella y tierna. No veo lo forzado, la gente debería dejar de ser tan cabrona y dejar de vivir en el período paleolítico.

En resumen: 10/10. Amé cada segundo … Expand

I’ve read all Eternals comics and every comic with an Eternal appearance. Big Eternals fan for years. There's an ethereal feel to the film and the Eternals although we're superior brought a sense of humanity to the story. Really liked that it doesn't feel comicky. First of all, before the movie was released, it made a name for itself with the low scores it received in Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic. The reason for this was the scores and comments made by the audience at the galas. The reason for this was the scores and comments made by the audience at the galas. I think this situation has caused a prejudice for those who haven't watched it yet. However, there was one thing to remember Oscar-winning director Chloé Zhao was in charge of it, and she should be respected. Maybe the fact that it is a movie outside of the usual films of MCU -which is actually not too far away- disturbed the audience or we can say that it affected them differently. The difference from the MCU was that Chloé Zhao showed a lot of her own style.

However, I believe that the effect of this is positive, not negative, and I recommend that those who make cruel comments watch the movie once again.

Green boxes or green rooms were not used during the shooting of the film, shootings were made in various places around the world with a very pleasant view. This, in my opinion, elevates the movie above a normal superhero movie and even puts it on the Oscar radar.

When you think of Chloé Zhao, cinematography come to mind. The cinematography in this film is also very succesful, and we should congratulate the cinematographer Ben Davis on this issue. In the scenes where there is no action, it draws the audience in and flows.

Besides, I can say without exeggeration; The best CGI I've ever seen in my life was in this movie. They even raise the bar so high that I think it's hard to come close to this movie in CGI success. There is also a lot of emphasis on the fight scenes. In many movies, fight scenes are skipped by shaking the camera here and there, zooming in and out, or with simple movements, but in this movie, we experience the fights to the fullest in front of us.

If we need to talk about the sound and music of the film, it can be said that it is a masterpiece. Their music is signed by Ramin Djawadi, whom we know from Game of Thrones, Westworld and Iron Man.

When I saw Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek in the trailer, it didn't seem natural enough to me, the fact that they were too big names made them look fake, but when I watched the movie, I thought it was the opposite. A very large cats in terms of names, meets the expectation, there is more than what we saw in the trailer in terms of humor and it's not overdone.

We are watching a different movie and we are not breaking away from MCU, the balance is very well established. We have to thank Chloé Zhao for this great movie...… Expand

Streamers, this past week had a solid opening that was headlined by Eternals. This behemoth has an ensemble cast of MCU newbies, packed with star power in a new storyline. This movie introduces us to the semi-immortal champions of the EarthStreamers, this past week had a solid opening that was headlined by Eternals. This behemoth has an ensemble cast of MCU newbies, packed with star power in a new storyline. This movie introduces us to the semi-immortal champions of the Earth that the Earth had forgotten. But now it's time for them to spring back into action. They've been through 7,000 years of humanity's progress to protect them from Deviants that threatened them. But, why did they just let mankind destroy itself along the way when they had the powers to stop it? And the powers to possibly stop Thanos! I know you're intrigued and so was everyone else clamoring for this to come out. Let's see how this stands up to the other Marvel blockbusters.

Ok, this may be an unpopular opinion, but I think Kevin Feige/Marvel/Disney, or whoever, chose the wrong director and writers to lead this project. Chloe Zhao, while pretty masterful in her latest Academy Award winning film Nomadland, I don't believe was the right fit for this film. One of the bigger knocks for Nomadland to me was how boring it was even if it was beautifully shot. She brought that same energy to Eternals. The movie looks very clean, beautiful, nice angles, camera movement, huge scale piece, and ultimately each character has their moment where you can feel the emotion; yet, at 2 and a half hours, the runtime was just simply too long. There were scenes that could be cut or shortened due to the repetitive nature of the story. In my opinion, this same thing happened in Nomadland... I feel like you can get away with that in a drama like Nomadland. You can not get away with that in the MCU. Infinity War and Endgame had a similar runtimes, but they were jammed packed with storylines, set ups, and entertainment. This movie didn't have that especially because the audience is just learning about these characters and ultimately the characters are filled with basic superhero tropes. Shortening this film would have done wonders. Disney should absolutely learn from this movie that a tigther runtime and condensed edit is not a bad thing. I'd be absolutely horrified at the deleted scenes that didn't make the cut. Let's get to the good.

Without the pressure of being part of the MCU, Eternals is otherwise just a very good superhero flick. It's plain and simple. Marvel didn't miss with this film at all, but it will never be held as a top MCU movie. In a way, this movie feels like a vehicle to get us to the next phases of movies and shows from the MCU. It is strange because it's such a big film with huge Easter eggs and fan fare, especially with the post credit scenes, Kit Harrington, in general, and surprise cameos. Ultimately, you're left feeling a bit like ok what's next. On the other hand, I could've skipped this and probably still been good to move on in the universe. Either way, the movie is beautiful. The cast from Angelina as Thena to Bryan Tyree were all very good. Sprite, you were extra annoying but I'll choose to believe that's just what they were going for. I loved the diversity of the cast and settings. There is tons of chemistry between cast members and every emotion is able to be captured. We laughed, we cried, and we kept hope alive. I'm sure we'll see more from this Eternals group and others.

Long story short, if this weren’t connected to the MCU at all this would just be a good superhero team movie. However, because this is in the MCU and following epic movies like Endgame, it feels like it falls a bit flat. Nevertheless, Marvel fans you have to see this movie for the culture. You’ll enjoy a bowl of popcorn to this but the ending and set up of the universe is definitely a big box. Head to the theaters to see this when you can but absolutely do not miss it when it comes to Disney+, in a few months.… Expand

Os personagens (nem todos) são carismáticos e muito bem desenvolvidos com uma história razoavelmente interessante e com emoções estampadas no roteiro como foco da trama, o que é surpreendente, já que o filme permanece entretendo os espectadores mesmo com 2h40m de tela. A história é interessante e divertida de assistir. Talvez seja o melhor filme de origem de personagens que a Marvel já tenha feito. Mas não se engane, isso não quer dizer que o filme seja acima da media em relação a outros filmes da empresa.

It manages to fully fulfill its role of introducing the characters, as it is a film of origin of heroes who may be fixed in this new phase of the company. The characters (not all) are charismatic and very well developed with a reasonably interesting story and emotions printed in the script as the focus of the plot, which is surprising, as the film remains entertaining even with 2h40m of screen. The story is interesting and fun to watch. Maybe that can be the best character source film that Marvel has ever made. Yes, it’s a slight deviation from Marvel movies of recent years but it was a good watch with lots of twists and expands the MCU further. A bold step by Marvel and director Chloe Zhao. This movie has been judged very unfairly.
The worst thing is that they banned her from China just because the director gave her opinion of the Chinese government.

I wasn't sure what to expect with Eternals, but I was beyond pleased. The movie was beautifully done. Excellent acting. Great character arcs and development. Super entertaining and intriguing. I was entranced from beginning to end. I loved the diversity of the cast and the inclusion of queer characters. It's pretty amazing how a story about immortal gods can feel more human than most of the MCU's previous offerings. The Eternals takes the tike to explore the characters' beliefs, ethics, and flaws in a way we dont often get to see in movies like the Avengers. I can see how this movie wouldn't be for everyone. If you came for non stop action its not for you, and if you want a gritty dark exploration of humanity its not that either. What The Eternals offers is a disfunctional family of gods debating whats best for humanity while expanding on the Marvel mythos. Its very ancient Greek pantheon in that way, and if that's the kind of thing you like, you'll love this movie.… Expand

Eternals is one of the best things Marvel has done in years. The stories are well told. The action scenes are spectacular. The landscapes are beautiful. The costumes of the eternals are great. I have nothing negative to say about this movie.

I am honestly in shock- Am I missing something? Do I have bad taste? Because honest to God, I really enjoyed this movie and its not the worst MCU movie by a long, long shot. This movie has been thrown so much hate that I went with lowI am honestly in shock- Am I missing something? Do I have bad taste? Because honest to God, I really enjoyed this movie and its not the worst MCU movie by a long, long shot. This movie has been thrown so much hate that I went with low expectations and came out extremely surprised.

For starters, is this movie really that different to other Marvel movies? Because to me, it fits quite naturally to the normal shemes and formulas of the others; with serious tones accompanied of funny breaks to lighten up the experience. Kumail Nanjiani´s character in this regard is a complete stand out along side his cameraman with scenes that honestly made me laugh quite frequently.

The characters for that matter, are all really fun to watch, all with unique habilties and personalities that make the dinamics between them quite interesting. I loved how they differ from one another and not all of them are crystal blue perfect. The big threat of the movie for instance involves a big moral consideration that not all of them can agree upon. In this regard, the movie does cover new unforseen ground in the MCU - I think my girlfriend said it best: This heroes are no loger straightforward in their believes and purpose but in this case morally gray, and that was very cool to follow.

Additionally, Eternals is beautiful to look at. Director Chloe Zhao is known for her beautiful direction and ability to portray big and expansive landscapes and such was still the case with this movie. Some of the scenes, specially the ones involving some past events with past civilizations where jaw dropping to look at.

Whatsmore, the action scenes were extremelely cool. Imagine a group of 10 very powerful people with very different powers all using their unique habilities in tandem againts an enemy or even against eachother- it all looks just as cool as it sounds. Standouts here are Angelina Jolie's Thena with spectacular acrobatics(she looks really cool), Lauren Ridloff´s Makkari with probably the coolest scenes and effects we have seen portrayed on a speedster-like character and Richard Madden´s Superman like character that just looks really cool.

Finally, this is probably the one movie with the biggest implications for the MCU universe as whole outside of Endgame; expanding even further our undestanding of how these worlds exist, work and the overall bigger threats that lurk within. For the first time in Phase 4 I feel excited for whats to come outside of our regular earthly heroes.

I really do not know what happened with the critics this time around. I say, go watch it.… Expand

IT was a fun, funny film that balanced an extensive timeline, character introduction and a solid story well. As a superhero film the action scenes were entertaining and the characters bold. It's a very nice movie. It's on my top 5 MCU movies. Every scene has a good explanation, the fights are brutal and no one is safe. It's a little bit long and in the beginning the film is tiring in some parts.

It always bothers me that people take their babies to see the movies because then they start crying because of the high volume of the movie, luckily there were none in the theater I went to and I was able to enjoy this wonder without interruptions.

I liked the romantic angle on the movie which marvel movies rarely have, and also sersi wasn't shown as the damsel in distress as the female lead love interest, that made me like her even more. The acting was great because it made me want to punch ikaris in the gut and I loved dane Whitman, he was really cute, also the post credit scene with harry styles was unexpected but still good, over all I loved it, great movie, already rewatched it twice and would absolutely rewatch it again.… Expand

I don’t know wtf these critics and some audiences want! If a movie has too much action then they want some characters development. When they try to develop characters, then the movie is boring and want more action; Eternals had both! The movie tried to tell a new, different story, with different characters while world building and world building takes time and exposition! I can’t believe these critics liked Black Widow, Hulk, Iron Man 2 and 3, Captain Marvel over The Eternals. Maybe it’s slow at some parts, but that’s where you develop characters! You cannot have action 24/7. Anyways, I cannot wait to see more of the Eternals in future MCU movies and shows since this movie literally changes the MCU from the formulaic films they’ve been so far. Con mi experiencia adquirida durante estos años viendo películas del mcu, puedo decir que esta película esta a la altura de Marvel. I didn't have high hopes for this movie, since I didn't expect the MCU to take a turn like this for phase 4, but the scope and vastness of the movie truly takes the next step for the marvel universe. I only had a basic understanding of the comics prior to watching this, so I did some quick skimming before watching the film. To put simply, the storyline was well put, even though the back-and-forth pacing between timelines could've been exhausting if it kept going any further. CGI was well polished, and I must say, the Celestials looked really well done and visualized. Of course, Marvel always had to put in some comedy here and there, which wasn't excessive and was good. I know everyone has their own respectful opinions, but to me, this movie is a good example of why you shouldn't always (and probably never) trust critic reviews, since they are typically picky when it comes to films involving specific cinematic universes. This truly does take the next step into expanding the universe!… Expand

Let me start by saying that I understand why this is the most polarizing Marvel movie made to date. I won't even try to guess how you as the viewer might feel. Most Marvel movies are made to be broadly appealing. This movie was not. ThisLet me start by saying that I understand why this is the most polarizing Marvel movie made to date. I won't even try to guess how you as the viewer might feel. Most Marvel movies are made to be broadly appealing. This movie was not. This movie has flaws and these flaws will completely ruin the movie for many of you. Others will notice these flaws but will ultimately find the movie enjoyable because it does have many redeeming qualities. It comes down to whether or not the style of the movie is your thing. I happen to be in the category of people who enjoyed it, despite its flaws. Cinematography: Amazing. Soundtrack: Really Solid. Characters: I loved Makkari, Phastos, Kingo, Karun (Kingo's valet), Dane Whitman, Gilgamesh and Druig. I want sure I liked Druig at first but he grew on me and by the end he was one of my favorites. Makkari fight scenes were epic. Best speedster representation ever in my opinion. Thena, Ikaris, Sprite, Sersei and Ajak had their moments but I didn't consistently connect with them. Something felt off about Sersei and Ikaris' chemistry. Dane and Sersei had better chemistry but even some of their back and forth felt stilted Plot: Some good spots, some weak points. Deviants plot line wasn't great. They felt like they didn't really have a purpose other than to be fought. I thought the movie started slow but actually got better throughout. CGI was great throughout with two exceptions: the airplane scene and the 1 character in the mid-credits scene. That was weird… I feel like Eternals will end up being the Avengers Age of Ultron the next phase. It tries to be really big and to do a lot, it pulls some of it off, and it will be really important to the future. This could have been better as two movies, or a TV show, or even if some of the characters had been introduced in prior films. Anything that could have let the story breathe a bit more would have helped. Getting to know this many characters and their motivations all in one movie is a tough task. Some wooden acting and questionable character motivations took me out of the moment a couple times. But I absolutely think the movie accomplished what it set out to do. I enjoyed the slower pacing and emotional/philosophical elements. In short, it's a well-made, entertaining movie that ultimately accomplishes what it sets out to do, even if the path to get there was a little bumpy. Overall: 7.75 / 10… Expand

Not sure what the majority is thinking with the bad reviews. it's far from being Thor: The Dark World. It held my attention the whole way through and i thought the character development was good.

O filme é incrível, te deixa preso e em alerta. Os flashbacks são extremamente necessários, a fotografia é incrível, os efeitos incríveis e o elenco tem um entrosamento delicioso.
