Eternals leaves me very conflicted. Overall, I loved this movie. I had so much fun with it and I loved how it expands the lore of the MCU. I had so much fun with it and I loved how it expands the lore of the MCU. That said though - I do have some strong feelings about this movie. One thought being, I really think this story should have been told in 2 parts instead of cramming it into 1 2hr and 38min film. I loved these characters but I don’t feel like I ever got to know them enough to be as invested in them as I did Iron Man, Captain America, or even Shang-Chi.

This film is gorgeous. The cinematography is absolutely breathtaking and Ramin Djwadi’s score really brings this story to life. I think this movie deserves every bit of praise it gets, but it also deserves some of the criticism as well. Well worth the price of admission, but just know this is not going to be a movie for everyone.… Expand

I don´t like the way Marvel is going with this. Its been a while since I saw a good Marvel movie that really pulled me into the story. For the duration of the film of 2 hours, there is a lot of unnecessary filler which could have been used to give more details of the plot and put more action.
And the ending is regularly bad.

And that turned out to be true. Eternals is a major tonal departure from other Marvel films and extremely unique in their oeuvre. It's got plenty of bum notes, but if you can set aside what's awkward about the movie and instead champion it for everything it does right, there's an interesting film here. There's a lot of lore to decompress into this story, and I think the writers did a great job of moving things along. I highly recommend seeing it in IMAX because it often fills the full screen with stunning images. I'm at a 7.5 on this but I could go higher if it stands up upon a re-watch.… Expand

Os personagens (nem todos) são carismáticos e muito bem desenvolvidos com uma história razoavelmente interessante e com emoções estampadas no roteiro como foco da trama, o que é surpreendente, já que o filme permanece entretendo os espectadores mesmo com 2h40m de tela. A história é interessante e divertida de assistir. Talvez seja o melhor filme de origem de personagens que a Marvel já tenha feito. Mas não se engane, isso não quer dizer que o filme seja acima da media em relação a outros filmes da empresa.

It manages to fully fulfill its role of introducing the characters, as it is a film of origin of heroes who may be fixed in this new phase of the company. I wasn't sure what to expect with Eternals, but I was beyond pleased. The movie was beautifully done. Excellent acting. Great character arcs and development. Eternals is a better movie than I expected, given that 3 post-Endgame MCU films released in a row (Spiderman: Far From Home, Black Widow and Shang-Chi) were of average quality.

Eternals is a film about 10 super-powered beings on a mission to help humanity on planet Earth. The director makes an admirable job of introducing these 10 heroes (plus another one) without making a mess out of it, focusing on just 2-3 main characters. Even Jolie's Thena character gets sidelined for most of the duration.

The plot has some actual drama and connections with real-world events, grounding the story and making these beings relatable to humans. Names such as Ikaris, Gilgamesh, Thena, Sersi, they are all clear references to deities and mythical characters from all over the world.

The problem with this film is that there is some potential that's never fullfilled. No actor manages to steal the show like Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark or Chris Hemsworth as Thor. And the overall plot fails to become anything more than another "save the world" kind of story. Even though there is a spaceship and lots of banter between the various characters, this is no Guardians of the Galaxy, and I doubt Eternals can become a film franchise on the same level of Guardians of the Galaxy. But it's still a watchable movie. Unlike Shang-Chi, I'm curious about the future of Eternals.… Expand

If you were searching for a typical Marvel movie you must not watched the Eternals. This movie is clearly heading the MCU in a new direction ! Maybe the movie was a bit long but it was needed to presents us the 10 amazing characters that is this found family (recurent theme of the movie). Great Job of Chloe Zhao to make us fall in love with those new heroes and anti-heroes on a such short notice! The eternals is a slow movie, celebrating the humanity of our planet. The scenarist and most of the characters decided to see the best in humans which is rare. Even tho the movie may seemed rough or messy at some point, it's an enjoyable movie with amazing CGI and natural landscapes. Bonus points to mythological reference and Ramin Djawadi's composition !
Minus point for the slowness or rather the will to linger on certain feelings or characters

Excellent movie. Great fight scenes and new characters. I enjoy the way it tells the story (flashbacks as in The Witcher books every 30 minutes or so) and the universe lore is pretty interesting. Finally a serious movie in the MCU, after years of Disney **** full of cringe humor and nazi-feminism, it was a great challenge to make a movie with 10 protagonist and the risk of not developing them was high, the director made a great workFinally a serious movie in the MCU, after years of Disney **** full of cringe humor and nazi-feminism, it was a great challenge to make a movie with 10 protagonist and the risk of not developing them was high, the director made a great work with the characters.
Actions scenes clean and amazing, the score FINALLY it's not **** trap/rap or stupid pop bull**** but a serious and deep score.
For me this movie don't reach the 10 score because of the wasted Deviant villain: He become powerful, learn to speak and then...die...like an idiot; for me the only low point of the movie, but the rest is amazing.
Great ending with logical sense: You can't fool a god without punishment so well, that's an original and very cool ending… Expand

Not one of the best movies of MCU but not the worst as many people say. Great introduction to new characters. Great post credit escenes. Hope to see the sequel soon and on more of the characters on other movies and series of the new phase of MCU.

Movie was awful. So slow, not funny. It was like they were writing it as they filmed it. Very reductive. Man I hope this was not to be the flag-ship for MCU.

But to finally compliment it, the cinematography was beautifully done and action sequences were dynamic and satisfying. The Icarus twist in the middle of the movie threw me off but in a good way. I felt genuinely hurt. Final fight of the movie did feel a little quick and easy but still enjoyed the battle between Icarus and the Eternals. Now for the good stuff; Mid-Credit scene threw me off since I had no clue Harry Styles was casted in the MCU. Can't say I'm hyped nor unhyped for the direction that goes in. Same goes for the Post-Credit scene. My friend had to tell me that was Blade's voice talking to Dean. Cool moment nonetheless. And to finish....Thanos in a way....was the hero.… Expand

While I must say that this wasn't my favorite of the Marvel movies I must say that I was overall fairly impressed. It was quite ambitious and had a lot of content to attempt to work through in a very limited amount of time. Many characters and concepts were introduced and it greatly expands upon the Marvel cinematic universe. Overall the acting was superb and the set pieces were amazing. A lot of great characters were introduced in a very short amount of time, but I feel overall we were given a pretty good idea of them. All in all I think time will show that this was a much better film than it is being credited as because of the sheer depth of the content and concepts it was introducing. A good movie, but possibly doomed to never be great because it would honestly be better suited to television where the expanded timeframe would benefit the subject matter. Nonetheless I highly advised you check this film out if you enjoy Marvel films, there's a lot to love here.… Expand

I usually love Marvel movies, even less popular titles like The Hulk. This movie was just really boring and I actually fell asleep. Super entertaining and intriguing. I was entranced from beginning to end. I loved the diversity of the cast and the inclusion of queer characters. I almost walked out, it was that boring. Listen I am a die-hard Marvel fan, and this movie was pretty bad. The visuals were stunning and it had some fun parts, BUT this movie was slow and stupid. The movie really picks up in the last 30 mins,I almost walked out, it was that boring. Listen I am a die-hard Marvel fan, and this movie was pretty bad. The visuals were stunning and it had some fun parts, BUT this movie was slow and stupid. The movie really picks up in the last 30 mins, which means that 90% of this movie is pointless. 3 hours is too long, it's clear that they didn't understand how to tell a concise and compelling story. This movie needed stronger editing, and a director at the helm that has done big, box office action movies. The constant jumping back and forth, to various times and storylines is distracting at best, and annoying at worst. There are major plot holes, and such bad CGI issues, and just sub-par acting. This group of actors don't seem like they enjoyed being on screen together. Kumal is there for forced comedic relief and they can't even get that right in most cases. This is a big miss for Marvel. Wait for this to come to Disney+ but save yourself the 3 hours at the theatre. They are just spending it setting up the next film, and world-building. You have no emotional connection to the characters and so you don't really care what happens to them. The positive reviews are either people spamming one letter "Aaaaaa" or clearly from Marvel fanboys who didn't see the film. I was pretty disappointed by this film considering the budget, the hype, and the fact that they wanted to hinge Phase 4 on this new team. I can't understand how fans of the MCU could like this. The movie felt like it thought its audience was dumb and just spent too much time trying to explain this massive background and world-building they kept beating over our head. It was very anticlimactic in the final fight, the powers are a bit boring as well, and I don't see how they will mix The Eternals into the MCU (and maybe they shouldn't because this clearly didn't land).… Expand

I'm really glad i went to see it, because it turned out to be one of the best superhero films i have seen till this day (and i've seen them all, and i mean, all) - i would have compare it to Logan. It shows how large difference the actual director makes - the story is told with care and patience, the characters are played beautifly, the plot surprises are presented gracious, far from "we have a plot twist!" usual marvel attitude - i actually cared for the main characters, which is something i havent felt on marvel movies for quite a long time. Highly recommend.… Expand

This movie was really good, I really enjoyed the storyline and thought the characters had great chemistry. I am excited for the next movie. It's a refreshing look and beautifully shot. I hope you give this movie a chance!

Normally I don't review movies, but I felt compelled to do so for this one to combat all the bogus negative ones. Most negative reviews complain how "woke" this movie is and that its political agenda is in your face. Most negative reviews complain how "woke" this movie is and that its political agenda is in your face. I don't think these people even saw the movie. There is no political agenda or message of any kind as far as I could tell. The only thing "woke" about it is that the cast is diverse. No one ever makes a big deal out of it during the movie or even mentions it at all, the characters are just who they are. If you have problems seeing non-white people on screen or (mild spoilers) a gay couple who *gasp* share a brief, non-romantic kiss, this movie is not for you. If, however, you are not a bigot, you will probably enjoy this movie.

The cast was excellent, and the story very engaging and interesting. This is not your typical Marvel movie, it doesn't follow the usual "Marvel formula" and not every character is a quip machine. That's not to say other Marvel movies are bad, I enjoy the heck out of them. But this movie stands out from the other movies as something completely different. You don't even need to be a Marvel fan to enjoy it, as it works well as a standalone sci-fi movie. I believe it might even be the first MCU movie since 2008's Iron Man to not feature a single character from a previous movie.

The only negative aspect in my opinion is the run-time. Two and a half hours is long for any movie, and this one isn't quite as action packed as say Avengers: Infinity War or Avengers: Endgame. It doesn't necessarily drag in any spots, but you will likely notice the length. The length, however, was necessary to introduce an entirely new cast of characters and explain their stories and motivations.

Overall, I would rate this movie a solid 8 or 9 out of 10. I am however giving it a 10 to help reverse the skew the bogus negative reviews gave it.… Expand

Not at all as bad as critics r saying it is, it's pretty good, not one of the MCU's greatest due to a slow first half but the 2nd half really picks up the pace and leaves u satisfied and excited for where the story might go in the future

Marvel did a great job in setting the story for the 2 chapter of the MCU with these characters.
