Does it feel like mw2? yes, does it feel like dlc..a little. Is it the same fun and consistency you expect fomr cod yes. 60 bucks a year for new maps and new features seems fair to me, I think it is just "cool" to hate on this game right now.

I've always liked the Modern Warfare series. The single player story has never been more than uninspired and insipid, but multiplayer has always been the series' strong point. The single player story has never been more than uninspired and insipid, but multiplayer has always been the series' strong point. There have always been issues with spawning, and being killed often felt cheap and merely unlucky rather than being genuinely out-fought and out-thought, but these problems are accepted as part of the experience as a realistic war simulator, where death really can come down to a moment's bad luck.

Mechanically, the game is as sound as ever. If something is shot it dies, if something is caught in an explosion it dies, if something is hurt and stays out of danger for a few moments it chalks up the injury as a lesson learned and gets back into the game that much more competent.

The story, a lacklustre affair, is half of the deal-breaker. Playing through on 'Regular' difficulty (the average setting for those unfamiliar with in-game terminology) I was able to complete the campaign in five hours. Even though multiplayer as always been the most important component for the majority of players, this doesn't excuse how shockingly short the single player portion is. Put simply, the single player would be fairly priced at a quarter of its current level.

The multiplayer also utterly fails to stand up to its ancestry. The core gameplay mechanics are almost completely unaltered from previous games, and even then draws upon the worst the series has offered. The inadequate weaponry system from Black Ops makes a wholly unwanted return, and idle sway on weaponry, rightly criticised in the first Modern Warfare and therefore dropped to universal praise, has returned. Many weapons still feature glaring inconsistencies with their real-world counterparts, and as often as not the newly introduced ordinance comes across as older weapons physically remodelled but functionally unaltered. The issues with hitboxes seem unresolved, and the problems with spawning and balancing of teams have clearly had no attention, despite being some of the most popular criticisms of the series as a whole. In short, the game is mechanically IDENTICAL to its immediate predecessor, Modern Warfare 2, with newly introduced weaponry having nothing to distinguish it from older weapons save new models.

The multiplayer maps themselves feel uninspired and unbalanced, with poor flow and confusing, unintuitive layouts and reference points, although this seems part of the long-term strategy to force players into buying expensive map pack DLC in order to actually enjoy the multiplayer experience they paid so much for to begin with.

This is the real deal-breaker: Black Ops, a game released barely a year ago, has pumped out four DLC map packs at a price of £10 each, pushing many players to part with up to £100 for a complete experience - a hefty price for a multiplayer-only game in anyone's book. Within two months a new DLC map pack WILL have been released for this game, meaning that in a year the Call of Duty series could have soaked up £170 of your money, without even going into special edition prices. That is, put simply, a lot of money for something that is almost functionally identical to something that most players already purchased two years ago.

A final gripe is the graphics. This should never be something that influences the purchase of a game, and yet here it does. The engine seems to have remained fundamentally unaltered since the first Modern Warfare four years ago, and put simply, it is badly showing its age. General texturing quality actually seems to have DECREASED in some areas, something which should not be happening in any series, ever. One can only presume makers Infinity Ward spent the last two years deciding on how to make the launch multiplayer maps so poor in quality that purchasers would be forced to buy their exorbitantly priced DLC.

In short, the Call of Duty series releases a new game every year, and this seems to prevent enough time being taken to actually fully pad out the final product. The single player feels rushed and cut-down, the engine seems to be unaltered, and overall the multiplayer seems to consist of a gimmicky DLC set of games and a poor-quality map pack. Most of what's new is just older code with a new coat of paint, and what's genuinely new is stolen from other, better-made games. If you have a previous instalment of the Call of Duty series, there is literally nothing to recommend this game for anything beyond a rental.

It's much more fair and balanced than mw2 or black ops, and its very addicting and fun. And people keep blaming infinity ward for noobs in the game. WHY? to eliminate campers, you would have to have a flat map with nothing on it, and to prevent shotguns and explosives you would have to eliminate all of those types of weapons. people need to learn to deal with noobs and stop criticizing the game for that reason. this game is great, end of story. i really feel ripped off when I play MW3. I get that we wanted a game similar to MW2 but we did not want THE EXACT GAME. I have been a huge fan of the Call of Duty series since Cod 4 but i think MW3 is a step in the wrong direction. Issues that plagued MW2 can still be found in MW3. The maps in this game are horrible. we wanted smaller maps...not small maps, all buildings, junk and broken cars everywhere with 10000 lines of sight. Lets talk about kill-streaks, i work my butt off to get these high streaks and they are so underpowered and easily shot-down. Air-support is pretty much useless now that point streaks can be earned through shooting them down. I was really looking forward to a NEW call of duty. Instead we got an expansion pack of MW2, new guns, some new crappy maps, and crappy killstreaks. The best part of this game was the campaign. I guess since they just took the MW2 multiplayer and put it in MW3 they had alot more time to focus on the campaign. I have a great analogy, MW3 is like the iPhone 4S, tons of hype for a new game, and something refreshing, but instead you get minor upgrades but the product itself is identical. IMHO save your money, BF3 is not good either. From one cod fan to another, i am truly disappointed. Expand

Wow. 0 Creativity in this game. This is a REMADE of MW1 and MW2, same textures, same problems, even same buildings. Im a COD Fan from the first COD came to PC but this is ridiculous. This should be a DLC for the MW2 instead of being lauched as a new game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm a military buff and 3 years ago decided to get a 360 to remember those days of fun playing ps2. My first real FPS was MW2. It was a great game and introduced me into a world of multiplayer gaming that I never experienced. But MW3 seems exactly like MW2. The story-line obviously had to continue but a lot of the game-play should have been revised. The part on MW3 with the flashlights that you have to duck is pretty much the same one in WaW where you had to go prone to evade some guys with flamethrowers. The sniping mission to kill Makarov, the same idea of WaW where you had to kill a general, but now in MW3 the outcome is different. Also for some reason when you get hit you flinch and your rifle blocks your vision and you cant shoot, also the grenade spamming is outrageous by putting these 2 things they make the game difficult. Essentially this is MW2.5 it should have been a DLC for 30 bucks not a full game or waited another year to release it. Multiplayer is exactly the same as always the maps are very narrow and small, vehicles and buildings are recycled from MW2 (not even a try to make a difference between the two). The initial menu on the game may have been good and easy to navigate in MW2 but come on Sledgehammer and IW at least you should have changed it completely because is the same one from MW2 but with different colors. Those things show a great deal of laziness on the part of these guys. Battlefield 3 is not a perfect game but and let be it clear I played Bad Company 2 this summer so I'm not a fan of it. But the multiplayer options to play anywhere you want is a plus MW3 doesn't have. MW3 is now a game to run run and run, do quick-scopes and keep running and killing. I would dare to say that Black Ops still is a better game. A 2 because as a fan of the series I expected more options and a different game-play style and because the story has gotten repetitive and predictable.CoD has gotten to be the same over and over and it stops to be fun. Another year, another MW game. Same old, same old. The gameplay has not changed, the graphics are dated, the story is predictable. The series needs to innovate. This game is not recommended, there are so many games in fall 2011 that your $60 is better spent on.

Killstreaks and weapon levels are a good innovation that bring a new feeling to the series! What if it looks a lot like Modern Warfare 2? After all it is its sequel and which COD doesn't look like the one before it? Still, Modern Warfare 2 was an excellent game and I think no one can disagree. Is this the same MW as always? Yep. Is it bad? Not by a long shot. I agree that not much has changed in the way of mechanics, or with the multiplayer leveling system itself. But if it's not broke, don't fix it! If they had changed the mechanics completely, everyone would have cried foul anyway! We are a society of complainers who wants everything perfect, but if you take that emotion out of it and see it for what it is, it's still a dang good game. The campaign had moments that make you sit with your mouth hanging open and didn't realize it until that moment was over. The story, same as always, is a bit forgettable, as is with ALL war games. Shoot this, blow up that, you forget why after a while. But what's important is, after a while, who cares? It looks so cool to blow stuff up! And MW3 does that beautifully. So to sum it up, this is a good game. Not perfect, but really good. And here is something shocking for you to think about...what if we could like BOTH MW3 and Battlefield?! Wow, what a world; two different games, different stories, different mechanics, so why judge them as if they are the same? You are not forced to choose (like with a wireless carrier ;) . I doubt Activation will say that Vince Zampella and Jason West (the creators of the franchise) played that big of a part in the success of the Call of Duty but when you fire them and 40 other employees quit because of that. Out of a studio that had around 50 employees in it to begin with, that doesn't leave a lot of people left that helped create the great Call of Duty's of past. Then Activation thought that after rebuilding Infinity Ward and adding the a brand new studio in which they just created called Sledgehammer games, to finish what the original Infinity Ward started would be ok. MW2 was good... untill people found out that they could have unlimited noobtubes. Black Ops was garbo from the start, people where sitting in corners everywhere with ghost and second chance. In the very beginning of black ops when a person would fall into second chance there would be a frame or two where the player would be invincible. I'm serious see for yourself! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zltypAJfcu0 . Thankfully Treyarch later fixed this but then came along the infamous "Blop Shot" where a person would fall into second chance w/ their primary. Despite Treyarch's multiple attempts in fixing this, none of them worked http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PyifsnEsnuY . This plus EVERYBODY sitting in the corner threw me over the edge. Just when I thought all hope was lost, a ray of hope appeared, MW3! Now some people like to be cute and call it "Modern Warfare 2.5 or A patch for MW2." I will be the first to tell you that this is quite the opposite of "Modern Warfare 2.5" Alot of BF fanboys like to use their excuse that they have a beastly state-of-the-art brand new Frostbite 2 engine and we are still running on the same engine as mw2. IW 4.0 (the engine of MW2) was very new at it's time. The IW 5.0 (MW3's engine) may only be a tweaked version of IW 4.0 but there is a noticable difference. The gun sounds have changed and sound sooo much better. The graphics are noticeably better. The weapons are balanced, and unlike previous call of duty's I can get into a gun fight and have a fair chance of winning it. Overall the multiplayer is great! Expand

I'm a big fan of CoD multiplayer, however the big fail here is the maps.... they are just crap, not a patch on the maps in the previous MW releases or black Ops for that matter. Also I am surprised and disappointed that they have not added some of the cool features in Black Ops, like being able to upgrade your weapons with COD point, custom emblems on your weapons.... and the training option... I am strongly considering not buying any future content, as I don't want crap maps. If anyone from IW/SH read this then consider a map design competition, I think this was done for MW on the PC.... And If you want to re-engage the users - release a best of map pack for free.... Expand

It's worth noting that this game has a single-player campaign, which many of the reviews bombing it don't seem to take into consideration. If you're interested in only the multi-player modes, then yeah, you'll probably be a bit disappointed. Still, MW3 may not reinvent the wheel, but it's far from a bad game.

Maybe you thought its ok to charge gamers $50 for every thing that you come out with, but sorry to burst your bubble but you got competition with BF3. Now that's what I call a great deal. Graphically, this game is no big deal at all. I honestly hope that people come to terms with the fact that reviews from the major gaming sites are bought and paid for, because this game could ONLY be considered a 8.9 if it hadn't already been made two years ago, when it was called Modern Warfare 2. Anyone who considers this as even a contender for Game of the Year is delusional. This current installment is so obviously developed by designers who have no capacity to understand what makes the COD games so fun - diverse gameplay, excellent physics, climbable/strategic architecture, and multiplayer experience. It feels as though you are playing in an old -style FPS like Marathon or DOOM where you glide around in an environment that is so rudimentary and crude that you quickly bore of the repetitive gameplay.

I warn anyone thinking of buying this game to heed the overwhelmingly bad user reviews of this game and stick to Treyarch titles in the COD franchise or, like me, just pick up a copy of BF3 and never look back. Especially now that there are team and squad death-match game modes! Infinitely more entertaining!

While Spec Ops is very fun the multiplayer, where most players will spend the next year, seems to be rushed. It's grainy and glitchy. There are times where it feels like one bullet with kill you even when you aren't playing hardcore. Then when you watch the killcam you see that you were shot 5 times and it didn't register until that last bullet. The music is as douchey as the over-hyper developer that you could see the entire camera crew through his reflective sunglasses.( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TtRa4z0dt8k ). The multiplayer experience just seems like it was ignored for other portions of the game due to the fact that they knew that players were going to play it no matter what it was like. Not a single MP map is unique in any way shape or form. The section of the CoD games that everyone loves is nothing more then a turd that wasn't even polished. The more I played, the less I enjoyed it. Half of the time, I feel like the game lags. Watching the kill cams, I notice the player sees me much sooner than I see him, although that wasn't the case on my screen. Maybe that is just me, but not why I dislike the game. The players make this game awful. There are people who play this game NONSTOP, so for almost a week, players have been able to level up, get great perks, and totally ruin the experience for novices like myself. The unrealistic aspects of this game really bother me. The constant summoning of UAVs, helicopter strikes, and missile attacks just do me in. This is simply not a shooter that is my style, and the people who consume the multi-player servers make this game even more non-enjoyable. Didn't take the opportunity to play the campaign, so I am not going to comment on that. I did like the missions part of the game, where you are given an objective to complete within a time limit, either alone or with a friend. That was both challenging and fun, and survival is pretty neat, but there is only so much of that you can play. If you were expecting a ground-breaking multi-player experience with MW3, don't get too excited. It is just ok. Expand

I was really looking forward to MW3, especially after being massively disappointed with how corny battlefield 3 was. In the beginning things looked promising, but as you play the multiplayer you realize a few things. On the positive side:

    1. I do like how they have dealt with killstreaks this time. you can do support or assault. either way you'll probably be able to call in some sort of reward and it keeps that part of the game fun. And the killstreak rewards are the most fun yet. they are hilarious - the robot from short-circuit buzzin around shooting guys is so funny.

    2. Some new guns are fun. And I like the new perk system.

    On the negative side

    1. The spawn points are ridiculous. Either you spawn behind someone and shoot them in the back, they spawn behind you and shoot you on the back, maybe you'll spawn off in the middle of nowhere, if you're lucky you are put with your team in a location where you can choose how to get back into the fight but that's rare. I just finished a match where I spawned behind a guy, shot him in the back, a guy spawned behind me and shot me in the back and he spawned in front of one of my team and was immediately shot in the back. ALL on ONE killcam. So lame.

    2. these maps are garbage. just chaotic garbage. no flow, rarely any strategic positions, no battleground. **** just hits the fan everywhere. and they are all SO small. 3. There is no flow. Because of the spawn locations and the cluttered map design the matches are too chaotic. There is rarely an actual battle ground you expect to be fighting over it's just totally random. 3. I understand the desire to cool it on the camping, but with scavenger you can't even re-up on flash grenades. 4. seriously what is with this quick scoping business? I understand it takes practice to get it down but like guys are cruising through hallways with their sniper rifles as shotguns. that's so stupid. It's a glitch which is being exploited. sure it's hard to do it's just goofy.

    5. speaking of shotguns they are primary weapons again. the secondary weapons are so lame. like you got an assault rifle good for 30 yards + up and then some wack machine pistol good if you can sneak up on ONE guy to empty the whole clip and then get smoked by their team while you reload. I basically have to use my primary weapon as some catch-all supergun.

A lot of excitement was in the air and once I received the game I couldn't wait to stick in my xbox and give it a go. The first thing I tried when I started the game was multiplayer. In the multiplayer physics had been improved slightly and things looked a lot more polished. Maps have also been made larger than previous titles which is a welcome change. However, after playing the multiplayer for quite a while now I find myself frustrated and disappointed by the maps. They seem to have made an effort to stop campers and snipers more on this game but with that they have made the matches very frustrating. even when you think you are in a relatively safe area, there are actually 3 or 4 angles where you can be shot from. In addition there are not really any maps that I can call my favorite on this Call of Duty. On Black Ops I had a few (Firing Range, Jungle and Summit) but these maps provide nothing special.

On the other hand, there are some great weapons in the multiplayer and the new perks and weapons upgrades make it very easy to tailor the multiplayer to your style. The campaign has also disappointed me this time. The storyline is very predictable and the last mission just turns into button mashing for to end the story. I could rant forever about my disappointment about this game but I will summarize. There was a lot that could have been done with the game and in the end it has let me down. Despite this I cannot stop playing. Maybe its down to the £90 I spent on it...

    Now almost everybody know:
    - too short and ridiculous single campaign
    - multiplayer very similar to previous CoDs
    - it should be rather DLC to MW2 instead MW3 title. For me it's waste of money and my LAST call of duty.

As for MW3, I love the game. I only started playing CoD properly this year (I've played 4 and WaW before), the first one being Black Ops, which I still love playing even now, then I worked my way back and then purchased MW2, which for the first few weeks, I found incredibly difficult to play, mainly because of the game engine being so different to Black Ops.

Then I bought MW3 at the midnight launch after waiting for 3 hours and I can honestly tell you, that I haven't felt cheated with my purchase....not one bit, even up till now. The game feels a lot like MW2, but unlike most of the morons on Metacritic complaining about how it's not "ground breaking" or anything, what WERE YOU EXPECTING?! You know what I was expecting? Some shooter-tastic fun, and that's exactly what MW3 has given me. How can so many of you guys sit there and say "it's an expansion pack" or "It feels too similar to MW2" when it's obviously quite different from its predecessor. Sure you still Aim down your Sight, and sprint and jump, but why fix what isn't broken? I don't see complaints like this every time a new Pokémon game is released, and that's been sticking to it's samey gameplay for 15 years!

10 for graphics, they're obviously enhanced over MW2. 10 for sound design, It's done well considering it doesn't have to be put on 2 disks like BF3 had to be (yes, I'm not a PC gamer, so I get pretty much everything for my Xbox...and what?!) it's held up really well. 10 for overall Gameplay because MW3's campaign kept me hooked and entertained me throughout the whole thing, and loved pretty much every bit and I wanted to see how it all concluded. Now BF3...I'm still playing through it and I'm just going "Meh, back to MW3" I also feel like I'm playing the Black Ops campaign again. As for Multiplayer, MW3 is clearly more chaotic, with all the Killstreaks and all the variety of gameplay modes. Also, BF3 essentially only has 3 game modes! TDM, Rush and Conquest, and a lot of you trolls are complaining about things not being mixed up enough in MW3? MW3 10/10, trolls stop hating and go back to your cave, the game is absolutely worth buying.

I played the single player last night (having already played multiplayer a few nights before), and I was blown away by the way the game drew me in, it just feels like classic COD... yes, not much in innovation, but if it ain't broke don't fix it. The hardcore fans of the series love it for all it's core gameplay and style... so this game, may feel like an expensive add on, but it's still bloody good! I really enjoyed what I've seen of single player, and also enjoyed the multiplayer side of things... seriously, if you love the MW, then just get it, judge for yourself, it's everything you loved about previous editions. I've been playing this game - Campaign, Spec Ops and MP - since it released, and after thinking long and hard on it, all I can say is . . . meh. I just can't escape the feeling that this is really more of a DLC pack than it is a three-quel. In terms of the Campaign, the best way to put it would be that the long and the short of it is that it is too short. I just can't escape the feeling that this is really more of a DLC pack than it is a three-quel. In terms of the Campaign, the best way to put it would be that the long and the short of it is that it is too short. I finished it the same day I bought the game. While I realize that the trend - ill-advised, in my opinion - is to sacrifice single-player for the multi-player component, a single-player campaign that short is an insult. Especially when the playability value of the multi-player part of the game will be severly undercut by those individuals who find ways to cheat (and just to note, it took less than six hours for people to start hacking the MP). As far as the multi-player goes, it would seem that the devs chose to keep all the worst aspects of the past iterations (Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2) while doing nothing to improve the experience. Spawn kills? Check. Modders? Check. Knives with thirty-foot blades that can stab you from across the room? Check. Ridiculously underpowered weapons? You get the idea. Look, I have some familiarity with many of the weapons in the game, and I understand that an endless succession of one- or two-shot kills is less than enjoyable . . . but on the other hand, it also doesn't take almost an entire magazine from an M4 to kill someone. Nor do trained soldiers, especially soldiers who are supposed to be elite, let the muzzles of their weapons wander around like drunken sailors on shore leave when they're aiming or firing. Also, despite all the handy tips, the game does nothing to encourage teamwork, even in an MP mode like "Kill Confirmed" where the whole point is that the road to success lies in teamwork. Finally, and again despite the helpful tips, the game continues to lack any kind of cover or concealment mechanic. Just a tip to the devs, concealment is where the enemy can't see you, but can still shoot you (in older days that was called "reconnaissance by fire") and cover is where the enemy can neither see you nor shoot you - and there are actually very few weapons capable of putting rounds through masonry or reinforced concrete walls, and pistols most certainly can't. At best, Modern Warfare 3 is an okay shooter, especially if you think real warfare consists of running around like a maniac. The sad thing is, it could have been a great shooter if the devs had concentrated on making a good game rather than on regurgitating the mistakes of the last two MW installments. Expand

The multiplayer has shown some improvement, but while actually playing the game you can't help but feel like you've played this game last year. The Spec Ops Survival mode is fantastic! Unlike Zombies, MW3's survival mode doesn't see you getting completely swarmed in 5 minutes. I managed to get to Wave 25 on my own, which with Zombies was impossible to even get past round 5 on my own.

Also before the game's release they were boasting about how balanced the game is, when now we have rank 1's facing off against rank 80's on the first day.

They said they were going to ban cheaters .... no bans have took place as people are still using Lag switches, and glitches.

CoD Elite premium has not added any extra content to the game so far, and after the 9 month DLC season, I can't see anyone getting Elite premium any more, as there wouldn't be any point in getting it.

    There are no "big" maps.

Overall they tried, but we got another Copy-paste-edit of last years game. Granted MW3 is better than Black ops is every way.

There is no balance to the game either, in order to win you need to use an assault rifle with a high rate of fire after that nothing else matters. I'd read that a dev from sledgehammer games has been begging for positive reviews, well he needs to as the game is simply not good. MW2 for me was awesome, but when playing MW3 you can tell that its not the same people behind the game.
the cod series for me has now fallen into the annual sports game rehash category its nothing new or special and am surprised by the press reviews. For a game asking for premium cost, its far from premium value.

The spawning is the worst I have ever seen, the minute you get a kill someone who spawned behind you is shooting you in the back, the lag is horrible, I keep hearing something about lag compensation? whatever it is it made the game worse. Their are already 10th prestige lobbies!

i am reading now how Sledge Hammer Games is begging people that like the game to go to Metacritic and give a good review because their ratings are so low, how pathetic is that? Their are loads of people on the Modern warfare 3 website asking for the developer to give them some feedback about all the issues and what their plans are to fix it, I have yet to see any response from the developer giving any re-assurance to their customers that it is being looked into.

The reason why people are still playing the game is because it is new and they haven't given up on it yet, but if it doesn't get fixed it will be in that big metal box at Best Buy in front of the checkouts with a $9.99 price tag!

The reason this game had record sale was because of the millions in crafty advertising, and the paid for critic reviews they get by giving out free game copies.

I will hang on to my copy in hopes that Sledge Hammer an Activision step up to the plate and fix this, but if they don't, it will be the last product I buy from either of these developers.

I loved Black Ops and how you could create your own character in the manner you wanted. The purchase system rocked - as did the wager matches. The maps are too busy which makes it hard to pick up players. I hate the new system in non-hardcore that doesn't let you see what team someone is on unless they are close. That's what hardcore is for. They are allowing knifing across the room again. and finally, the environment isn't destructible. after playing BF3, that is one of the things I loved. it keeps the game changing and never stagnant. it also helps keep campers from staying in the same spot since you can blow the hell out of it.

overall, MW3 was a big disappointment. I usually LOVE call of duty games but this felt like nothing more than a map pack with a step backwards from Black Ops because of the confusing menus, undoing the purchasing system, lack of combat training to get to know the maps, and overall feel of the game.

after this, I'm moving to battlefield 3. it's a far superior game. Call of duty, you suck now. You could have come out with an amazing product and built on the success of black ops. but you struck out.

I usually start off on easy, but not this time, I had to bump it up to normal for a little more of a challenge. It is a sad state when a gamer as me who plays on easy has to turn it up a notch. At this point I am considering attempting it on veteran to see how hard it is supposed to be. Overall the campaign is a simple go here, protect that, capture him fanfare. Not that people purchase this series for single player experiences.
The multi-player on the other hand is what everyone wants to play. When I picked up MW2 it was fairly straight forward and easy to pick up and play, And so is this, because it looks, plays, and feels just like it's predecessor. Yes, they did change some perks, and kill streaks. But overall it is the same as before. Along with the same game play you also get the stereo typical players that are with it. Nothing makes me want to play a game more than a prepubescent kid telling me to leave and stop playing the game because I did not do as well as they did. Given all online games have these types of player, but it seems that most flock to CoD. Overall it is a good game, just more of the same. Most players will enjoy the game both online and off, but I cannot say that I am impressed with it as much as I was with the 4th installment of the series. It is as if the developer decided to put forth as little effort as possible and do what they did before. This holiday season I will be trading this title in and seeking a different title to invest my time on.

(which I also enjoy) They tweaked the game a bit... which I EXPECTED. If you are a person that plays multiplayer and usually forgets about campaign and the other modes...then yea...you arent going to get much! and you should expect that by now! I didn't even understand the jump between Call of duty 4's multiplayer and MW2's. But anyway...I just do not understand what was expected from the game overall. People always loved modern warfare for what it was..WHY would they change it completely? Obviously they added perks here and there...modes and guns etc. They didn't show us anything terribly new in the first place...The game works like it is supposed to, feels great like it always has..and continued the campaign. I remember when people complained that Black ops wasn't as good as MW2...now MW3 is similar to MW2..what's up? That's what everyone liked. I was afraid that the game would not have been created!..I was also afraid that it would not feel as smooth as MW2 but they pulled together and got it done! I'm happy for sledgehammer and infinity ward for creating this excellent game. Either way..for such a BIG franchise, if they change it too much, people complain...then if they don't change enough..they complain. Expand

Is a terrible game, I hate when the camera moves when you shoot, also the multiplayer has enough errors as bugs that help one to cheat, and in campaign mode also has many bugs. This game is pure hype, the game sucks

Call Of Duty continues their downward spiral. The founders of the series have gone.

    Spawn point! and shot!
That is good, because the maps are mazes of cutter. If it were not for the noobed down spawn system,
you would never be able to find anyone.

All the people giving this a zero are being very lame. It is a good game. Okay, so it plays slightly different in multiplayer, but lets face it, a change was needed. This is not MW2, thus the 3. The single player game is action packed, but still feels like all the other COD's. For me, the Spec OPS is the best feature, especially with a friend. i played MW3 on first day expecting it to be like the best multiplayer experience, but sadly they brought back the same crappy game play from cod 4 in, it contains so many bugs its not funny it took to grenades to kill somebody and i actually got a hit maker with a F'in KNIFE like cmon and somehow u can dodge a RPG in mid air by ducking, same with bullets. Not only did they have an overload of bugs but they pretty much have a random spawn system no there is no enemy side ally side like in MW2 now its more like guerrilla warfare, i really think the only good things of this game are campaign, dedicated servers , and the strongest thing survival which it a combination of zombies and horde i am definetly considering selling this a trading for battle field 3. I've never been so disappointed over a game in my life. I expected a lot from this best-selling shooter and I was regretting the purchase after fifteen minutes of online gaming. I thought Modern Warfare 2 was a step down from Call of Duty 4, but not as bad as Modern Warfare 3.

having played both modern warfare's before this one i found that this new installment to the series was a fine way to end the trilogy and has only set the bar higher for Battlefield to try and top it.
the multiplayer is again excellent and the new additions of kill confirmed, team defender, juggernaut, infected, drop zone plus one in the chamber and gun game from Black ops made this much

Spec ops is even better this time and the survival mode seems to be really fun even if it did rip of Gears of War's horde mode. people its the third game in a trilogy ALL BETS ARE OFF ON WHAT TO EXPECT AND DON'T BLOODY CRY ABOUT IT IF YOU DIE 50 MILLION TIMES IT JUST MEANS YOU SUCK AT THAT MODE

I don`t know why you guys are giving this game such a low ratings... we all know that this game were not going to create solid changes in the franchise, so.. lets rate this one like a unique game itself and not in comparison to the other titles of the saga.

P.D.: sorry about my english. ;)

Ultimately, Modern Warfare 3 feels similar to it's brethren, but that doesn't mean it isn't a great game. The single player element is still exciting, and multiplayer has more options than ever – if you're a fan of Call of Duty, Modern Warfare 3 is a no brainer.

Modern Warfare 3, while still an excellent thrill ride in its own right, feels far too similar to MW2 or even Black Ops for my taste.
  3. I never expected Modern Warfare 3 to go toe-to-toe with EA's juggernaut this year, but it came out of the gates with a tour de force campaign and co-op mode. It loses points with a perhaps too-familiar multiplayer that caters to the juvenile on Xbox Live; though don't be mistaken, Modern Warfare 3 is one hell of a shooter and a highlight for a series that just won't die – no matter how much we wish it bloody would, at times.
