    I genuinely feel this is a FUN game. FUN is the keyword. Its alot of stuff to do and its really fun doing it.
    The game is not to serious about the story, but it sure hell is alot of fun to speed around in the levels. Nothing drags in this game. This sort of game is needed in the context of other games like God Of War, The last of us who is very story driven games.

    Finally we can say that is sonic is BACK!!!
    This game is really really fun and it’s not just that the story is PHENOMENAL i really loved the story (maybe a spoiler?) but the ending was a bit disappointing I really liked the open-zone in my opinion it was the best thing in the game alongside the story This is definitely a step in the right direction for sonic the hedgehog franchise and i    Finally we can say that is sonic is BACK!!!

    The Sonic I've been waiting for for so long! Initially, I was skeptical about this game, but after playing, I realized that this is the best Sonic game, right after the Sonic Adventure 2. Sonic Team did an incredible job! You have found the right way! Strong 9 points!

    Sonic Frontiers is an evolution of the traditional boost formula that brings a fresh new step in the right direction, in terms of adding an open “zone” element, beautiful storytelling, and a noteworthy improvement in the voice acting direction.     The game elevates sonic the hedgehog by mixing up its formula, he's now in an open world and sonic team has done an awesome job doing it, story is great too! It has its issues but a great game nonetheless!

    Surely there are a few minor issues i have with the games, but it barely affects my experience with it at all. This is one of the BEST Sonic games i have ever played, i really enjoyed my time with it

    Sonic Frontier is a very fast-paced game on a huge map. And it is an open world 3D action RPG game. Ninja, Naruto, Inuyasha, Sekiro, Ookami, and Son Goku such as Ninja, Naruto, Goku, etc. are the best in this game where you can run at super fast speeds and have fun fighting.

    the open world is very fun to play you have very much things to do combat is solid but fun movment is great you can customize the movment story very good animaations better than before overall one of the best sonic game in my opinion and please play on hard mode to get good ending and check sometimes that it is on hard beacause it can change if you die too many times.

    Only thing i dislike are the 2D cyberspace levels, everything else is amazing. The attention the detail is incredible and Flynn did great with the dialogue. It really feels like you’re interacting with people and not robots or npcs. The game is also super loooong, i bought it on release day and i’m not even close to finishing it. So much content!
    TL:DR:    Great game, can’t stop playing it.

    Finally we were given the opportunity to experience Sonic's speed to the full, without being restricted to linear levels. I also liked that Sonic started to remember his past adventures, as it ties the games together. The only thing missing is the ciao garden, but I think it will come back at some point for sure

    The new combat system implemented and movement felt pretty nice to use and control, giving more options for beating enemies and new ways to reach certain areas.     I feel like companies like gameradar+ and gameshub and the other company that gave this game a low score don’t either understand or like sonic.     Never was a fan of Sonic, but this game is excellent. Insane dynamic blend of so many gameplay mechanics in open world that is happening so rarely. Strangely reminding me of Returnal action game due to fast pace and cool atmosphere.

    Sonic Frotniers es el juego que todos los fans de sonic llevamos esperando mas de 15 años, el sonic team con 5 años de desarrollo, una inspiración en shadow of the collossus y en botw ha conseguido crear una verdadera obre maestra, que pese a algunos fallos sin mas, convierte a sonic frontiers en el mejor juego de sonic jamás concebido, y tambien lo convierte en una nueva era para elSonic Frotniers es el juego que todos los fans de sonic llevamos esperando mas de 15 años, el sonic team con 5 años de desarrollo, una inspiración en shadow of the collossus y en botw ha conseguido crear una verdadera obre maestra, que pese a algunos fallos sin mas, convierte a sonic frontiers en el mejor juego de sonic jamás concebido, y tambien lo convierte en una nueva era para el erizo, la era de la libertad, tiene una jugabilidad exquisita con un control del personaje practicamente perfecto, un sistema de exploracion innovador y que le viene como anillo al dedo a la velocidad del erizo, un combate sublime, y, que para ser de una franquicia algo mas infantil, no tiene nada que envidiar a los mejores hack-n slash de la historia (salvando obviamente las distancias), destacando las peleas contra los titanes, que sencillamente, rozan la perfección, en cuanto a la historia, en mi opinion es la mejor historia jamas contada en la franquicia, con una narrativa muy interesante que le da una gran profundidad a los personajes, hablando de estos, vuelven a tener un desarrollo a la altura de los adventure, por fin despues de tantos años, los personajes secundarios se sienten vivos e importantes en la historia, amy, tails y knuckles estan muy bien, pero quienes se llevan la palma no son otros que sonic, eggman y sage, el erizo es sin mas el que hace entender ciertas cosas a los co-protagonistas en este juego, su relacion con knuckles me encanta, pero lo mejor sin duda, es que ha vuelto a ser el sonic de antes, vuelve a ser un vacilon pero que sabe ponerse enserio cuando hay que hacerlo, eggman y sage tienen un desarrollo y una historia que me ha encantado, aunque no dire nada por spoilers, merece la pena vivir esta historia en tus propios ojos. En cuanto a la banda sonora, como era de esperar en un juego de sonic, es sencillamente casi perfecta, en cuanto a detalles sonoros, es muy comodo escuchar las acciones de Sonic en este mundo abierto, que tiene un diseño de nivel increible.     I waited 5 years for this game and it payed off, the gamrplay is fluid dynamic and very fast, there's always something to do, solving a puzzle, beating some enemies or completing de cyber space levels. Sure the game isn't perfect, there's a lot of minor mistakes especially on the cyber space, but this game js a huge step in the right direcrion for the series

The combat is varied and satisfying, the story is mysterious and emotional, the voice acting is new while still feeling familiar, and the soundtrack is glorious, whether it's the soft violins of Kronos Island, the EDM music for Cyberspace, or the heavy metal for when you're up against the Titans! In SonicSonic Frontiers is a beautiful step forward for the blue blur and his friends. The combat is varied and satisfying, the story is mysterious and emotional, the voice acting is new while still feeling familiar, and the soundtrack is glorious, whether it's the soft violins of Kronos Island, the EDM music for Cyberspace, or the heavy metal for when you're up against the Titans! In Sonic Frontiers, it's up to you to save Sonic's friends and rescue them from cyberspace, all while trying to overpower the new threats that await. Unlike past Sonic games where you'd speed through levels, Frontiers takes a new approach: Open Zone, and it really pays off! As for the more linear reach the goal levels, they're a part of the new Cyberspace levels. While it's a little hard to get a hold of the, admittedly clunky controls, once you do you'll be S-ranking Cyberspace levels at the fastest speeds possible! Visually, the game looks fairly average, however you can still capture some gorgeous scenery and beautiful views from the Starfall Islands. There are a few gripes I have here and there with this game, but it doesn't knock any points, and they're more nitpicks than anything.

    Overall, Sonic Frontiers is a wonderfully crafted game by SEGA and Sonic Team, and is the best 3D Sonic game since Sonic Generations! From its fun and unique combat, to the beautifully designed open zones, to its fast paced Cyberspace stages, to its incredible story, its music, and its beautiful visuals, Sonic Frontiers is worth your time and is a very thrilling game!

    Plainly the best 3 Sonic game ever, boss battles are some of the best of the series, soundtrack is ons of the very very tops, exploration and enemies are fun. Could definitely have used an extra few months for endgame to be more fleshed out but wow, wow and wow.

As a long time Sonic fan, I've gone around 11 years without a good 3D mainline game now, and sonic frontiers absolutely delivers on being something super special with so much potential. I have played this game to 100% completion and outside of the secret hard mode final boss, I loved every minute. That final boss was awful though lol. This formula has so much potential, and I really hope SEGA and Sonic Team look to refine it into something really amazing. For now at least, I can confidently say that Sonic is good again, and that's a fantastic feeling.… Expand

    - Popping issues happen 24/7 no matter the rig
    - Story is shallow and characters interaction is really limited
    - World is dull and empty
    - Challenges are baby hard
    - Overall game is way too easy, seems to be aiming the 11 year olds

    + A small batch of levels are gorgeous and feel like nostalgic sonic

Sonic Frontiers is a new step for the Sonic franchise, and one that while not perfect, certainly sets the strongest of foundations for even grander adventures in the future. Frontiers is the first open-zone outing for Sonic, and it can’t be understated how truly different, and good, this game feels.

    From the beginning, you are thrown into a wide, expansive archipelago with Kronos Island as your introduction. The game feels, and looks great. Though it has some issues that can’t be fully excused, as pop-in is, and has been an issue since its first previews. Though one does get used to this overtime. As for Sonic’s control, its by far the best it has been since Sonic Adventure, though a minor nitpick is the jank you can come across when going over certain terrain, as Sonic can feels at times ‘glued’ to the ground, and you will find issues fighting against the games boundaries. Despite this, Sonic controls like a dream, and the added ability to fine tune you’re movement ability and physics is an incredible feature that should become a mainstay of the franchise.

    Going into some negatives, SEGA advertised 5 islands for this game, and while there are many opinions regarding them, it can’t be denied there is effectively 4. A critique of Sonic Forces, being its runtime, is perhaps one SEGA and Sonic Team took too strongly with this game. To explain, Sonic Frontiers is made up of Kronos, Ares, Chaos, Rhea, and Ouranos Islands. Together they are dubbed the ‘Starfall Islands’. Rhea in particular is a standout, being a story segment and quite literally the other half of Kronos that is otherwise inaccessible, yet is dubbed as its own island. This sadly feels quite cheap. Why not make this just a segment where we return to Kronos? (As we literally do). As for Ouranos. Its a fully original island in its terrain, but shares aesthetic with Kronos. I for one find it fitting we return to something alike to Kronos, in a way I can’t explain. But do acknowledge others complaints for this segment.

    Ending off the major negatives, Cyber Space is unfortunately a mixed bag. With controls that don’t feel as good as the overworld, especially in comparison, but really shine in the later levels that contain original level design. Which is where it is to be said that Cyberspace adopts level layouts AND aesthetics from previous titles. Being yet another Sonic title in a row to do this, right after Forces, Generations, etc. Despite this, they’re a fun little bit of content overall and can be quite fun to speedrun.

    Sonic Frontiers shines in all of the new it brings to the franchise, with the expansive environments, and absolutely stellar Titan boss fights found at the end of the islands. These boss fights I feel raise the standard for Sonic the Hedgehog boss battles, with fun gameplay, killer music, and amazing spectacle. So lets hope SEGA will add a means of being able to replay these incredible bosses. Music and presentation is a highlight of Frontiers, and along with the gameplay of the boss fights, this stands as all the more true.

    We end with the story of Sonic Frontiers. One that promised a more mysterious, somber, and melancholy tone. It can be felt from the very beginning that Frontiers delivers on this promise. SAGE is a strong inclusion to the roster of Sonic, and one I’m sure myself and others will want to see return or even become a mainstay in the franchise after her inclusion and writing. Character interactions are a highlight, where we can see the writer, Ian Flynn, truly cared for the integrity of the characters, and calling back to and correcting Sonic lore. Its refreshing to see these characters as themselves again, not simply one note stereotypes and one liner generators. It can be said Frontiers is perhaps a chosen narrative, as one will get more out of the story by going out of their way to seek further side cutscenes to flesh out the world and story further. This story is truly meant for Sonic fans so for myself, I loved this story, but can see why it may not resonate with others. The ending is a point of contention with many, for perhaps feeling weak, or anti-climatic. To me personally I can see these critics, but find that I still felt fulfilment from the ending.

    In closure, Sonic Frontiers is a great game, and an amazing Sonic game. It has its flaws and detractors, but despite the issues I highlighted, I feel Sonic Frontiers deserves a 10/10, for being a new great step in the franchise, and by now my favourite Sonic game. I completed and 100% this game after 26 hours of playtime, and recommend this game to any interested in picking it up.    … Expand

    I give it a 9 just because the true final boss of the game, is a bit disappointing that they turned the best opportunity to be ultra epic, in a bullet hell with 3 quick time events, anything besides that is just perfect.

    I was very excited to play this game and it certainly does not disappoint. I've been nothing but happy with how Sonic Frontiers turned out. This is a clear redefinition of the Sonic franchise and I'm here for it all the way.

Not perfect, but a damn fun game to play. Sad there's no post-game stuff. The OST is heavenly. Cyberspace levels feel a little jank compared to past sonic games.     While this game isn't as polished as many other releases this year, I was absolutely hooked to this game enjoying every second of the 26 hours I have played it for, there was never a dull moment and I am so excited to see what a more developed sequel could do.

    After getting 100% on the first 2 islands and arriving on the 3rd, i can confidently say this is the evolution of sonic we needed. Wherever you go there are always platforming challenges to do, the combat system is fun, and the cyberspace levels are a good break from the open zone. The titan boss fights are crazy too.

    Putting sonic in an open zone with the fastest boost mechanic in the series felt amazing! Similar to Spider-man on PS4 the movement never got stale and at times I'd just be running and exploring the game just for the fun of it! The movement felt amazing most of the time, there are slight hiccups like the 2D camera getting in the way, some structures sonic should be able to run up on just don't work but overall the movement is one of the best in the series. Sonic actually turns extremely well!
    Though a little negative on the gameplay is that the structure of the gameplay did get repetitive and the quality of the islands got worse, the fourth island wasn't even an island in terms of exploration and looked familiar to Kronos & the last island just felt like an expanded Kronos, I was hoping with a snow island but oh well. But overall very good! The combat I was really shocked by, the combat is pretty good! Sonic has a vast skill-set & enemies that sonic faces all have different attack patterns and effective ways to beat them, overall the combat is definitely something to enjoy! The boss battles are AWESOME! Super sonic never felt so powerful before and the fact it's the same combat as the open zone but stronger, faster and even special interactable cutscenes makes it even better! Though I did wish the parrying in the combat was timed based in hard mode. Overall the gameplay is pretty good! A few things could make it the gameplay even better would be Momentum, Harder enemies, Health bar (You can barely die with rings), parrying being timed based, more to do in the open zone than collecting collectables (for a future sequel I hope!) Overall I'm a super fan for the open zone gameplay! Fishing is actually playable unlike SA1, good choice sonic team!

    Cyberspace Gameplay: (5/10)
    I know this is a low score, but overall cyberspace wasn't as important as the open world since cyberspace acts like special stages to get the Chaos Emeralds. Cyberspace levels when compared to the prior games felt really off, sonic controls completely differently in cyberspace when compared to the open world and can't be customized (C'mon)! Sonic controls badly, the level design is just re-used assets from prior games besides the city stage, levels are extremely short and overall just isn't as good as Generations, Unleashed, Colors!

    Story: (6.5/10)
    This might be one of the lower scores in terms of category but when it comes to frontiers story it is definitely headed to the right direction. The story has a more mature setting and theme which I'm all down for, a big improvement over forces laughable story. The best part in my opinion in the story were the characters interactions, Ian flynn does an amazing job of writing the dialogue and makes it feel so natural, the references were quite nice! But overall though the story is an improvement compare to forces and generations, when comparing the potential of the story compared to prior games Sonic Adventure 2 & Sonic & The Black Knights this story felt rushed, I feel with some extra time and some polishes the story could of been a much higher score. Near end of the story it felt really rushed, I was expecting a nice conclusion with all the characters, was actually interested in Sonic's cyber corruption and was wondering how he would go back to normal, but literally within the same cutscene Amy, Knuckles and Tails just enter inside him and fixes him? Didn't feel like their was tension to his cyber corruption even though it was building through the entire game, the outlines are there for a great story but felt flat for me. (Sonic team please just make Ian Flynn the main writer for the game, I think if he had more control aside from dialogue it would of been amazing!)

    Music: (9/10)
    Sonic has never disappointed with their music, but this game's soundtrack is so good! "Undefeatable" is my current favorite. The open world music as calm instrumental music for each island, which definitely fits the story's mysterious theme, but when the boss's come expect rock and metal! Sadly no crush 40, the music still slaps and definitely worth a listen even outside playing the game.

    Conclusion:
    Overall this is a step in the right direction and I would be lying to say Sonic in an open space isn't fun, It's EXTREMELY fun! Though not a perfect game, this formula with some revisions and add-ons could create an even better game! I hope sonic team doesn't drop this open zone formula, but adds more to the game to make it even better!

    My main points to improve the game for a sequel would be:
    - Post-Game Content
    - Momentum (I know drop dash has it but talking about overall movement)
    - More content besides collecting collectables
    - Other playable characters with different gameplay

    The story is very good, it gets you nailed, at the beginning it feels a bit weak but as the game progresses it gets very good, the new gameplay is different and I like that, there are several things that can be improved such as poping or the movement in cyberspace but from there my opinion about the game does not change much.

The only thing id say about the ending and final boss is that it was somewhat anticlimactic especially compared to prior parts of the game and even other sonic final bosses but had some nice character moments and although not the best ending still felt satisfying. Overall one of the best sonic games to date, its best moments are amazing and its worst can feel slow and tedious. For sonic fans this is a must buy and would honestly give this a 9/10 but for casual gamers who arent too familiar with the series this game will feel more like a 7/10… Expand

    It's a solid game with a big open world to explore, good platforming experience, fast paced combat and puzzle solving. Puzzles are too easy though combat is pretty fun. the beginning of the game may be a bit slow to progress, anyway it's a good game. Far from perfect, but it's the good game Sonic deserved

The combat is fun, the world is beautiful and the exploration never felt boring. The bosses are the best in the series. The music is top notch.     Great hybrid of the boost/adventure formula! The open zone concept becomes so much more clearer when you play the game yourself. Story is amazing with phenomenal writing. Gameplay feels slick and tight- if slightly janky.

    While in the trailers the open world gameplay seemed automated, I found it to be actually really fun because you can kinda zone out and have fun with each one. Cyberspace isn't even that bad too because physics are your worst enemy in these stages. This soundtrack is also the best sonic soundtrack we have ever gotten. The highest point in this game is fighting the bosses, but I won't spoil it.

    The idea and vision of the game is absolutely fabulous. In practice, however, the game is brought down by its execution, which you can see through after a short while and then the game has nothing to surprise you with. [Issue#324]

    There is nothing remotely redeeming about this game. Nothing that even the most die-hard loyal Sonic Fans would or should advocate for. I hope that one day someone who cares enough about this franchise could give us something-anything of substance. A fan can hope, can’t they? A fan can hope.

    Finally, after almost 25years of half measures and mostly mediocre titles, Sonic has finally reached the 3D levels of gameplay it needed to reach. Yes, the pop in is absolutely inexcusable and the ancient gatekeeping grindy methods damage the flow of the game for no reason, but a wonderfully built base exists here, with a highly entertaining adventure in wonderfully melancholic world and a surprisingly well founded story, thankfully clean of Sonic’s annoying 3rd tier friends!
