    The game actually ends in 30 minutes. you see the terrible cut scene with 10 years old graphics then you play a couple minutes and delete it because no one can stand this suffers.graphics and animations still in 2010 BUT you can edit a transgender. it is so bad

    This game is just soooo bad. I only finished the first mission and I'm pretty much done with it. Asking for a refund. The Graphics are PS3, the story is crap, the shooting portion is just very bland. This game feels like a substandard ps3 game from 15 years ago.... Do yourself a favor and just skip it and maybe Volition will either learn or go bust.......

    Now they delivered The Insult. Literally The Insult The Game. I wonder if it was some weird plan to just destroy this, once amazing, franchise.

    Everything about the Saints Row reboot is terrible and woke, and a disgrace to the Saints Row series. It's barely playable and bugged to hell without any devs doing their jobs polishing it to be more playable and entertaining. Instead the devs are so modernly woke they focus on attacking the gaming audience over criticism and brag how gamers are awful people, and that's what you shouldEverything about the Saints Row reboot is terrible and woke, and a disgrace to the Saints Row series. It's barely playable and bugged to hell without any devs doing their jobs polishing it to be more playable and entertaining. Instead the devs are so modernly woke they focus on attacking the gaming audience over criticism and brag how gamers are awful people, and that's what you should NEVER do if you work in the gaming industry. And the gameplay, features, storyline, humor, and especially the characters look more like modern soy-drinking hipsters instead of looking gangster that it should be, they're all terribly bad. Not only it's bad, but the violence has also been censored comparing to the other Saints Row games. It shouldn't be a M-rated game if the violence is so problematic to the devs behind this garbage.

    I love games where you can create your own character. The customization in this game is great. But the terrible voice acting and dialogue ruins everything. The game has a fun aspect to it, but the horrible characters your character talking every 5 seconds to say something stupid makes it unbearable.     Rating it a 10 to offset all of the reviews from people who haven't played the game, they are just regurgitating what they read on the internet or watched on YouTube. Game is probably more like a 7. If you like the the first two Saints Row games, you will like this. I've played 25 hours and I've had 1 bug that required me to reset the game. What most of these reviews are, are just sheep that watch **** reviewers like Skillup and ACG and run over to try and change the world on Metacritic. It's not GTA. They never tried to be. But it's a fun open world sandbox with hours of fun shenanigans to be had. If you want a game that doesn't take itself seriously, but has a decent story and lots of things to chase down, give it a shot. Yeah there is some "woke" crap. Who cares?     I'm not here to complain about how "woke" this game is Saints has always had diverse characters and this faux outrage takes away from the fact that this game just sucks. Bad dialogue bad pop in repetitive missions and annoying characters make for a horrible experience. Graphically it looks like a remastered 360 game. Did anybody playtest this before it was released?

    Borderline unplayable, PS5 keeps freezing up every 30 minutes or so and only full unplug boots it back up.

    Also I really, really, really hate "my" gang.

    This is such a step back and it shows with the gameplay. Driving feels clunky and outdated with nothing really new added. Combat is probably the worst part as it doesn't feel rewarding or engaging, AI is also terrible and really feels like a copy paste of cyberpunk 2077

    Alright this is going to be a long review and my first on Metacritic. So let me start off by saying this clearly and best as I can. This game is just like every other Saints Row, I've gone back and played them and they all seem this way.

    So lets start here, the story has bad pacing and doesn't really introduce anything. But so did Saints Row 4, 3, 2, and 1. So I won't hold that against    Alright this is going to be a long review and my first on Metacritic. So let me start off by saying this clearly and best as I can. This game is just like every other Saints Row, I've gone back and played them and they all seem this way.

    So lets start here, the story has bad pacing and doesn't really introduce anything. But so did Saints Row 4, 3, 2, and 1. So I won't hold that against it. Since I've overlooked story problems before with better games. The characters and situations are eye roll inducing but so were the other Saint's Row games. Again this is a par for the course setting and take for this game series. I think people either forgot this part. The characters always felt kind of flat or uninteresting to me in the other games. I found plenty of bugs in them as well.

    The bugs don't compare with titles like Cyberpunk or Fallout 76. Or maybe even WWE2k20. Its very alright in terms of its effort and writing. The combat feels a bit dated and the late game isn't very impressive. But to give the game a 1 when that should be reserved for titles like Black Panther. Or games that are utterly broken and worthless.

    While I was hoping for a better game, I believe this is a middle of the road game. To understand why I gave it a 6, you need to understand. It takes a lot more for me to call this a bad game, its just underwhelming and that's it. Some jokes land and some don't, that's the same with every Saints Row.

    So if you enjoyed the past games, this is may be up your alley. I do suggest waiting until the bugs are fixed. Otherwise have a good one.    … Expand

    ❌Can't switch car camera
    ❌When player gets out of the drivers seat they tpose for approx 2 seconds at times
    ❌Doors have a weird shadow animation on them upon entering (tattoo parlor, clothing store etc)
    ❌Game feels like a last gen open world game
    ❌Desert area is barren/nothing to really do
    ❌Game world is very quiet even though the city is populated lack of ambient city sounds
    ❌fighting mechanics feel last gen/copy & pasted and lack impact sounds.

    The game is unfinished and I will not accept any other excuse.

    Another disappointment in an era of disappointing games. They must have gone on a hiring spree and only picked up mediocre junior devs. Even if all the bugs are fixed you’re left with only a mildly entertaining goat simulator that you tire of after 5 minutes.

    Here’s why it’s good
    Guns, cars, the player, and a lot of action

    The people who say game trash has not spend a full day or more on this game or just jump the bandwagon to say it’s trash

    Cars: great customization, different options, and a lot of cars
    Guns: different types has perks and has great performances to it
    The characters: funny, cool, I enjoy playing with them
    The map: big, a lot of activities to do
    Story: great storyline I will not spoil it

    Even if the game has bugs all games goes though this on first week and month of release    … Expand

    On release it turned out worse then we thought, Devs tried to hide it as much as possible with their embargos.     Looks like an Xbox 360 game doing it's best Cyberbug 2077 impersonation with all the glitches. Gameplay is boring and gunplay feels off. The writing is horrible and the characters are more annoying than you can imagine. Saints Row 2022 is embarrassing.

Oh yeah, they did it because they know they can rig search engines by using an old, honorable name for their trash. You owe me a refund.

    Saints Row is back and rebooted just in time for 2022 and guess what – it’s a piece of crap. This title stands out to be one of the worst open world sandbox games ever made. The only positives I can give to the Saints Row reboot is the new Santo Illeso location setting and the graphics, but everything else is bad compared to Grove Street Games’ GTA Defective Edition. The bugs areSaints Row is back and rebooted just in time for 2022 and guess what – it’s a piece of crap. This title stands out to be one of the worst open world sandbox games ever made. The only positives I can give to the Saints Row reboot is the new Santo Illeso location setting and the graphics, but everything else is bad compared to Grove Street Games’ GTA Defective Edition. The bugs are everywhere, the controls scheme is subpar, the combat/shooting mechanics is the same as Agents of Mayhem, and the voice acting is immaturely pathetic. The biggest elephant in the house that made Saints Row one of the most difficult games I’ve ever came across to is its horrendous storyline and godawful dialogue. Once the opening credits roll, you’ll see why this game is really that bad and I have no idea why the writers from Volition gave this a pass in QA quality inspection as it felt written by a retard. Saints Row 1, 2, and The Third did not have that, but the reboot’s depiction of today’s satire in political correctness during the modern-day America did not work at all. I've played every saints row before this and i loved the humor on them, they were Wonky but fun. Gameplay was also nicely tuned.     The game was delayed 6 months for refinement, and it still releases with many bugs. NPCs doing t-poses, and enemies that spawn in ridiculous places, out of mission areas. Lots of the interactivity is gone from the open-world; you can't do many things as you could before in the previous games.

    Character creation is also missing lots of features, such as independent body sliders, hair options, no jiggle physics like in SR3/4, no different walk animations for men and women (it's all the same), and it's overall shifted to making ugly characters. Character faces are flat and not detailed.

    The main story is very short, the game is a ghost town. This was supposed to replicate Las Vegas (the city that never sleeps), but there's rarely any NPCs out. Compared to even it's previous games, the world is empty. The audio mix of the game is off, so some times the sound is really low. Man, there's just so many things wrong with this game.

    Go watch all the reviews on Youtube that point out all these problems, if you don't take any word here. It's all documented. Volition is playing scared; their recent string of bad games have made them super conservative, and afraid of taking risks, and it shows. Outdated gameplay design can't carry them any more, and they tried to jump aboard the Gen Z demographic, but really failed here.    … Expand

    There is nothing to do in the open world when compared to the previous Saints Row games. The customization in this game is biblical, but what good is any of that when the game itself is buggy and boring? Not to mention how bad the visuals look with the horrible lighting effects and cartoonish character models. These developers are so lazy, they can't even properly make a cat in 2022. You call that ugly thing a cat? There is no demolition derby. This game has car customization but no racing. What kind of backwards logic is that? Lazy developers can't even add something as simple as racing. Speaking of racing, the driving mechanics are trash. Every car is as powerful as a tank. The vehicle selection is the worst in the series. The developers added a big lake in the middle of the city, to give players the illusion that the city is bigger than it actually is. If anything, it makes certain parts of the city feel like a small town. This game tries too hard to be funny. The only thing I find funny about this game is that these out of touch developers actually thought that making this poor excuse of game would be a brilliant idea. The characters magically teleport in the car. The controls are beyond horrible.

    The co-op multiplayer is complete trash. The developers are too cheap and lazy to make PvP multiplayer. It's pathetic that these greedy developers have gotten so lazy, they haven't made PvP since Saints Row 2. These developers are so cheap, they decided to add some stock songs for the radio. Are you freaking kidding me? It's already bad enough that the radio lacks hits compared to the previous installments, but would it kill these cheapskates to at least pay for underground artists for the country station rather than adding stock songs? Not even Rockstar or Ubisoft would be that greedy to add stock songs into their fake radio stations. The cowboy statue with the Pringles head has a cringeworthy face on the cover of this game. It doesn't help that there is a lady with a SJW haircut sitting on it. This made me remove the cover paper off the game case and rip it into pieces. I don't recommend this game at all, unless you want to support laziness.

    Edit: You know what, I change my mind. I'm changing my score from a 0 to a 1, only because of how amazing the customization is. How many games have this much depth in customization? I have to give them credit for that. It's too bad that literally every other aspect of this game is garbage.    … Expand

Volition had a great opportunity here to capitalize on the open world, third person shooter market with the absence of Rockstar over the past 9 years, but they would rather dumb down their games so that 13 year olds who enjoy Fortnite can hop on this game and have fun. We told them from the start, "this is not what we want" "this looks terrible" "bring back the old saints" and all they could do is call us haters, well as it turns out the fans and consumers of the product were right yet again. I hope that Volition & Deep Silver will one day realize that they messed up bad with this game and the 3 before it just because they outright refuse to listen to their fans. I would like to see them publicly apologize for this poor excuse of a "Saints Row" game, but that will never happen, they will never admit that they were wrong, even if this was the final nail in the coffin for their already downward spiraling company. This is not Saints Row it only has the name because they knew it would sell decent numbers and make them some money. If you are a true fan of Saints Row, save your money.     Okay...Giving it a 10 to counteract the reviews that haven't played it because if you call it woke trash you probably didn't even buy it. If you complain about the graphics you are watching YouTube videos off your phone.

    It's fun. Not perfect. Plays a lot like 3 but with some newer mechanics. Love the gliding. Gunplay feels so much better than 1-4. The characters are all different and    Okay...Giving it a 10 to counteract the reviews that haven't played it because if you call it woke trash you probably didn't even buy it. If you complain about the graphics you are watching YouTube videos off your phone.

    It's fun. Not perfect. Plays a lot like 3 but with some newer mechanics. Love the gliding. Gunplay feels so much better than 1-4. The characters are all different and play into their tropes well. Mechanic, Nerd, Crazy One, and then your character who can literally be whatever you make them. Vehicle customization is better than ever. Guns are alright but are also fully customizable which makes up for the variety. The city/map is absolutely gorgeous, the attention to detail and cultural influences are spot on. In no way does the city feel lifeless. A lot of returning radio stations, great soundtrack when causing chaos.

    All in all, it's a good game and a great saints row. Don't get up with what is considered woke or generational and just enjoy the mayhem and comedy.    … Expand

    It is an entertaining and action-packed game. The graphics are pretty okay. It could've been better but it isn't expected from a game like Saints Row.

    It feels like they tried to make it for everyone and didn't want to offend people with the dialogue and some of the gags.     This game really feels like too many voices were involved in the creative process. The action-packed moments are fun to play. It is easy to play this game for hours but you might stop playing it and ask yourself "What's the point." The story isn't there so the other stuff had to be great in order for this game to be really good. Right now it's just enjoyable.

    Hopefully, they surprise us with a great satire DLC.

    Whoever was in charge of creating the moments and dialogue for Saints Row should be for the DLC. I would only recommend this to people that want something action-packed or loves character customization.

I asked for my refund bc this game sucks and I can’t even be nude without feminist and sensitive people getting offended about my character. The gave me my refund and restored my account. The point of why I am arguing is simple if your a feminist or someone who is too sensitive don’t get this game. This game isn’t for people under 18 and it’s certainly not for people who are too sensitive about a video game. There was no reason why my account gotten suspended. The game was meant to play like that. So I am blame deep silver studios bc they should have a filter and say Join NSFW 18 co-op. I also blame the parents who bought this game for their kids and thought it was Minecraft and then they complain on social media saying this game should be banned bc it has nudity and pornography.     Controls feel horrible.
    Frequent bugs.
    Full of unlikeable characters.
    One of the least enjoyable opening missions I've played.
    Some moments of fun but it just makes me want to play something else overall.

    I think Saints Row IV is better than this new ''reboot'' although the section to customize your character seems extensive to me, the story seems bad with a ''cringe'' humor and I'm sorry there are bugs, some fun, but unfortunately there are bugs that break the in-game experience, I think Volition should remaster the first two Saints Row

    Giving it a 1 because the combat and atmosphere/visual design is pretty cool, if you can shut your brain down enough to enjoy them. Might have rated it higher if the developers weren't acting like children on Twitter, which put a sour taste in my mouth from the beginning, unfortunately. Not sure how insulting your fan base makes good business sense.

    Shame that developers refuse to learn from others' (much less their own) mistakes - which shouldn't be surprising considering CD Projekt is one of the developers listed for this project.    … Expand

    Terrible graphics. Bad controls. and some of the most awful writing I have ever seen in a Video Game rolled all into one. Easily the worst game of the current console generation. As a fan of SR 3 and 4 this was disappointing to say the least. Save your $60.
