    I really hope people really read the negative comments because this is worse than cyberpunk 2077s launch. At the least, 2077 had a great story and devs actually poured effort in. Anyone praising this game has no knowledge of past saints titles, likes low quality games or is a troll and/or casual.
    Us saints row fans asked volition to listen to us, to go back to the og sr1-2 roots and    I really hope people really read the negative comments because this is worse than cyberpunk 2077s launch.     This game is broken, lacks depth with npcs, cant rob stores, the vehicles undersides look WORSE than a 2008 game.
    They went to massivly appeal to tik tok gen z and this backfired massively and this is politics aside.
    The saddest part is, santo ileso the city has so much potential, the desert has potential, the car damage models are amazing (scratched paint marks etc)
    but all the minor positives are massively overtaken by all of the negatives. and boy oh boy the game is 99% abysmal at best.
    when will game companies understand majority of gamers want old school games and quality, gen z just wants fortnite low quality dopamine hits. and dopamine hit games flop.

    edit- i still cannot get myself to even complete the game, i have been gaming since 1998 and ive had my fair share of bad games, and you as a gamer can tell if the devs put in some love, soul and effort in a bad game, i can overlook alot in a bad game and still find some hope and light if you will. THIS IS THE WORST GAME I HAVE EVER PLAYED. honestly it really is and im more sad than mad at this point because they had an opportunity to bring a classic series back to relevancy in the open world crime genre, since you know, R* milked gta v for the past 10 or so years.    … Expand

They copied the engine from IV, hauled it forcibly onto the PS5 and left it at that. Horrible performance, horrible optimization, horrible experience. There is just NOTHING to do in this game except the copy-paste Ubisoft like "gotoA-getitemB-returntoC" quests.

    And finally, the amount of LGBQT **** that has been injected into this game is absolutely laughable. I don't care about this topic. Please, stop hammering it into my face. Let them do what they want and let me do what I want. Stop this mindboggling all-inclusive "we have to represent everyone" garbage that noone wants and stop this annoying preaching! FK OFF!

    There is nothing worth your while in here.
    This is how gaming should NOT be.

    Cringey, unlikeable, woke characters. Embarrassing dialog, repetitive/boring gang fights. Thank Anita Sarkeesian for this trash game and the idiots at Embracer for the direction they’ve taken this franchise.

    It's difficult to find fitting words to describe how bad this game is. I wasn't expecting much, given the rumors, but the actual "finished" product, is by far worse than I was able to imagine.

    It's just about passable for a Saints Row game. It's what you'd expect from the series but toned down and the humor is less on point. The writing (and especially dialogue) is pretty weak in general but there are a few good scenes and missions with amazing set pieces but in general most missions consist of nothing but getting a phonecall and driving somewhere and shooting **** up.     I've played the game for about 20 hours now.
    the graphics and the game play are old-fashioned and looks like a game from 5 years ago. there are still some bugs and there are no cheats like before, which I think is a shame.
    Despite all the criticism, I also have a lot of fun with the game. Because driving feels good, the characters grow over time and the world is interesting, the story    I've played the game for about 20 hours now.

    The game is not a saints row game, it feels more like Sunset Overdrive, but a lot worse. The story is awful, the game play is awful, the graphics are awful. Just in general the game is awful.

    This game is awful makes agents of mayhem look good and hate the censorship.I don't understand why franchises are becoming more weak and softer the tone is way off and game is more buggy on ps5 than pc. NO SEX APPEAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Is it perfect no, does it have bugs yes but you know what it's a hell of a lot of fun and I for one can not stop playing it. Don't trust the negative reviews, if it's something that interests you buy it and try it for yourself then make up your own mind about it.

The combat gets a little lame and a pain when every mission is just fight fight and fight in SR3 every gun upgrade made ut look different here it stays the same,the new perk upgrade system is horrible in SR3 it was fkin amazing, the world feels empty, cool costumization system, i actually enjoyed the story but in 3 there were choices... i consider it ok nothing more but notI had no bugs.     TLDR: a tremendous disappointment it wants to be saints row but gives a fortnite type of vibe in terms of the audience that should play it, they made it a little more friendly feels like, SR3 felt like they actually targeted an actual mature player base but here its like they aim for idk 10-16-17 yr olds. A great example is Borderlands where they added streaming and social media into the story like it is not their place in these types of video games. The game is just BLAND

    Idk why this comparison came to mind SR3 feels like an actual action movie with jokes but when i think of the reboot i outright think of it as being Toys Story from Disney xD

    I believe it can 100%be enjoyed by some people and 100% hated by others however i am in the middle cant give it a 6 either because we waited too damn long just to get this one of the games ever made but i do say TRY IT see if you like the game    … Expand

    The Map is Not Only Diverse it was a living open world . If we Move to The Story Part it is Cherry On The TOP . The Antagonist Had Character Arcs same as The Protagonists . There are 3 Gangs and a Corporation called Ultor . Sons of Samedi is the Creepy Drug Dealing Gang they have a little weak side of story but Missions related to em are so Good , Remember Trevor's Sticky
    Bomb Missions in Gta 5 They Steal it from one of Samedi Missions . and Killing one of The Gang Member will haunt you Rest of the game . coz radio stations are its finest in Saints row 2 ,unluckily that Gang member happens to be the Radio jockey . after his death the radio gets owned by an Artificial intelligence which sounds terrible .
    The Other Yakuza Gang ( Ronin ) Struggles with Father son Relationship and Trust me You will feel bad for Them way before you are burying one of of em alive , their Missions are straight From Japanese action movie katana fights , samurais on bikes , blowing this **** out , collapsing building and skydiving damn.

    next one is brotherhood , this gang is basically you are fighting with another your self . it is so Intense so personal there are so emotions on both side it felt great . and there are 4 different combat style .

    the Ultor is some next level @@@@ im not spoiling here experience it your self .

    a part from missions you can buy properties , Work as a Taxi Driver , Body guard of a celebrity , as a medic . fire fighter and a Cop . it had the perfect blend of realism and over the top fun . all of the time i played as the default boss from the trailers so character creation is not a thing for me .

    back in 2006-2008 volition pulled a Gta Rival with That Budget , just imagine what they can do in future if it had a better funding .

    hey Volition you cant make good games you are proving it for almost a decade , Just Step Down The Business and Make Custom Character Creator Blender / Maya / Unreal Users . ill but even it is Yearly Subscription .

    Stick to the old games, they're more entertaining than this ever will be. Saints Row started out as a GTA clone before it found its own identity, this game is trying to be a clone of a clone and failing. No likeable characters, a lackluster story, and most importantly no Johnny Gat. Save your money you can get all the older games for less than this and be better off for it.

    I am really baffled on the universal hate on this game. It is a good open world game with a ton of fun stuff to do. If you like GTA style open world games, you will love it. I did not find it repetitive at all. The only downside is that the game crashes a lot, but hopefully this will be fixed in a patch. Just play the game yourself before you judge it so harshly.

    It’s not terrible and it’s not great but it IS ENJOYABLE. My only faults would be enemy sponges and gunplay is bad but it’s nothing that can’t be fixed. Enjoyable sandbox exploration. Serious with a touch of stupid. It’s a reboot not a remake. Not sure if half the reviewers even played it tbh.

    for an open world gangster game in 2022, you cant steal from shops, you cant even gamble and there are multiple casinos, the characters are awful, the missions are repetitive, and the games still has problems even on new gen consoles. do not buy it and if you do pls wait until for updates and discounts, this garbage is not worth full price

    In my mind, does NOT deserve the hate its getting. The game is awesome, fun and indeed 100% a Saints Row game. Granted, it may not be the Saints Row we were used too (SR 1,2,3,4, GOH) but its deffinently a fresh title in the series. I have encounter little to no bugs/glitches, and for me, the game feels EXACTLY how a Saints Row game in 2022 should feel.

    Story: Completely a waste of your time, a bunch of soy-boy twitter users acting like gangsters (Not real gangsters) attempt to pay off their student loans and debts while clumsily building their incompetent empire. The dialog is some of THE worst written I have ever heard from my 20 years of gaming. The writers certainly have a boner for hating anything capitalism or the idea of making money, and its certainly annoying and unbearable. Which is Ironic, since that's the main point of the game.

    Gameplay: Watered down, shooting bullet sponge enemies is boring and repetitive, useless collecting and a buggy mess of a game that gives cyberpunk a run for its money. Nothing new is added and it feels like they just took saints row 3's engine and clumsily just copied and pasted it in this game while not checking for bugs, glitches, and crashes.
    Open-world gameplay for this game specially shows how aged it is and how boring it has become. There is literally nothing to behold in this game and GTA5 has more stuff to do then this.
    Rag dolling is just out of place and out of control, nothing obeys the rules of the world or reality.

    Sound: Decent, but again, the dialog is just some of the worst i have ever laid my ears upon. Don't have anything to say about this, guns go shoot shoot, explosions go boom.

    Overall: Please, do not buy this game, for any system, I have already refunded mine, and I highly suggest anyone who had to sit through this train-wreck do the same. This game is not saints row, and to the people who made it, quit making games, you clearly have no idea how to make a game, stick to activism where you belong.

    GTA 6 will also meet this fate, don't pin your hopes in that either.    … Expand

    The reboot is fun and I loved the new characters. The biggest issue with the game is the radio station. The second issue is the clothing I feel like they could have added more. I saw a few reviews claiming mission bugs but most of it was probably not knowing how the mission worked. I give it 8/10. Sure the main gang npcs are watered down student versions of the previous beloved characters, but the game is still very enjoyable and fun to play. Bugs in my 20 something hours have been almostAs a great lover of SR 1 and 2 who really couldn't get into 3 and 4, I'm very much enjoying playing this new take on the series and just struggle to understand the childish review bombing. I’ve played every one and while I do enjoy all of them, I mainly play them for some stupid fun after work. This one feels like a Saints Row game, which is great… however it does lack variety in mission structure (both main and side) much more so than other games. I’ve played every one and while I do enjoy all of them, I mainly play them for some stupid fun after work. This one feels like a Saints Row game, which is great… however it does lack variety in mission structure (both main and side) much more so than other games.     Released so is this game, yet we're not one step closer fixing the problems of the world.
    We're not one step closer to pushing past the superficial differences that comprise what is "us."
    We're not one step closer to addressing the shortcomings of society that are a detriment to peoples of ALL demographics.

    "Don't take it too seriously."

    This is supposed to be "just a game" and yet, the fun and novel dries up rather quickly.

    The cliché "wage slave" story feels like stepping in a puddle of water but then trampling into a brightly contrasting world of...not all that many interesting things to do in the betweens. A beautifully built world that quickly feels uninteresting to explore, even repetitive. Gone are the outrageous "idgaf" weapons so memorable of the previous entries (Rectifier Probe anyone?) replaced with weapons that I don't care enough about to remember.

    The cringe humor feels like someone woke in the morning and before the blood started flowing, thought they had a gem.

    Most of the game feels like it was attempting to compensate for something that is no longer there. And can't decide what it wants to be.

    Gone is the silliness of its past reminding itself not to take it too seriously. Replaced with a resoluteness and air of pretentiousness that has neither charm nor character. An empty shell of what it once was, the series can't return to such outrageousness. And at the same time, it cannot assimilate the gritty seriousness of its genre contemporaries.

    The greatest games need only excel at a few things. Saints Row manages to excel at none. Average and forgettable at best but the shallowness of its virtuousness leaves a foul taste long after.

    Perhaps it's time to hang it up; something that it is no longer. A dying breath harkening to the relic of a bygone era.    … Expand

The main cast isn’t even the greatest concern however, as every character is bland and boring, especially the rival gangs who offer nothing interesting to gangs in the past (you know you’ve messed up when Saints Row 1 had more interesting gangs and 2 of those gangs were almost completely forgettable). Overall do not play this game. Spend your money on anything other than this. Added note: no, even if they fix the bugs my best score would be a 2 out of 10. The driving may feel floaty to some but after recently playing saints row 3 the driving feel just about the same as Saints Row The Third. This game has the vibes of Saints Row 2 and the gameplay of Saints Row 3. You can tell they took the time to give the world some love. I heard a lot of people say there no land marks in this game. Those people lied. The moment you start exploring the bridges and highways in this game will be more memorable that Saints Row 3, the building will be just as, if not more, memorable as Saints Row 2 building. The variety in the map is a much needed change to the Saints Row series. As far combat goes it feels a lot like Saints Row 3 but the addition of dodge rolling oddly feels right at home in a Saints Row game. The weapons range from mostly realistic to advanced tech. There's nothing to crazy in the weapon options. Pretty much just good old fashioned gun play with a hint of advanced weaponry. The writing admittedly needs work. It has its cringe moments but also some serious moments I wasn't expecting out of this game. A lot of time something happens in the story I'm asking myself how did we get here, why did we just do this, this is such a far leap from where we needed to take this. The same goes for dialogue. I'm asking myself who wrote these cringe lines, why is she talking to me like this, who would ever jump to this conclusion. It doesn't help that the voice acting isn't the best. When it comes to the missions I don't think they are as repetitive as people are saying. I did one string of side missions of my first 2 hours of playing the game and I never got tired of it. In fact I wish there was more of those mission. I will say story mission rely to much on cut scenes and some side missions have bad pacing either being to slow or going by to quick. The grind in this game is one of the best I've scene all year. Different vehicles and guns have perks to be unlocked through either killing certain types of enemies or doing an action a certain amount of times. The leveling up system is pretty lackluster with only 20 levels for you to grind through but the levels make good use of themselves. Offering you perks to equip, and more health. My biggest issue with the game right now is the glitches. I've been co-op with my brother and girlfriend and these glitches are horrible. I was ran over by my girlfriend and brother multiple times because the co-op player icon disappeared in the course of playing the game. It comes back if you die but admittedly if you're not facing down a horde of enemies it's hard to die. My brother has got himself stuck in cars, he's been unable to shoot, and he's been stuck the radio wheel. My girlfriend and I have had missions just completely glitch out on us. This game definitely needed a day one patch to say the least. Altogether I will say this game was $60 well spent. Sightseeing, wing suiting around with friends, being a hired gun on get away missions, racing from the desert to the city, gang wars, the most in-depth customization I've ever scene, the story (when it actually works), the variety in enemies, owning a taco truck, running into gas tanks and instead of exploding your car just goes flying like it did in Saints Row 2 and the hover board. I'm more than satisfied. I can not wrap my head around why this game is getting so much hate. Maybe this wasn't the Saints Row the world was like for but this sets the Saint Row franchise up to have another great peak. I'd say this is the second or third best game in the franchise. I hope this game gets great DLC, and an even better sequel. I want more of this style of Saints Row.… Expand

    I have yet to finish the game (as I'm doing a stream with my friend) but even ignoring the day one glitches which every game has (seriously find a game that doesn't) its a fun game, not stupid OTT like sr4 and gat is but not as gritty as GTA was when saints row first came out, and really on my system looks AMAZING (even at the resolution I have it at for streaming)

    its not on steam and the price is a joke. I can't find it for a cheaper price so I simply will not buy it.

    Saints row 1 and 2 were the best but its not even like them..

    Pretty fun, but very buggy. The gameplay, content, story and humor seem pretty inline with Saints Rows The Third. Note the majority of the negative reviews are deriding the "woke" aspect of the game, which should be a giveaway that none of them have played the game because it's not really a thing in the game.

    Too much preco was not delivered. Just DeepSilver's charade of making the pc game release exclusive on their platform 4 hours before delivery, to sell Notorious packs at $90 has put me off.
    I was able to test the game for a few hours on Ps and it calmed my hype.
    I put a zero point to DeepSilver and a place in my list of game publisher to boycott. I'm fed up with all their ****

    Let there be a notice for all game developers, you need to stop with the "woke" sh*t and start making us games that are actually FINISHED. this game is buggy as it can be and the frame rate is horrible.
    I do hope they recall everything because this game is terrible.

You cannot make a good black humor game and be afraid to offend anyone - it is like trying to make an omelet without breaking any eggs.

    For players like me who did played all previous Saints Rows and thus unable to avoid comparison with predecessor - that is 4/10 and after playing for several hours I just want to go back playing previous games again.
    In a few months after some polishing and removal of critical bugs this game can get +1 to it's final score from me, but that is all.    … Expand

    I don't even have the energy to write a full negative review about this. They rebooted the series in all the wrong ways, its not fun, its buggy, its just terrible.

    The main cast is the characters the actual saints would have bullied in saints row 1-4. Don't buy this, its garbage.

    The game is boring, broken and ugly. The cast is generic and forgettable. The Volition that brought us games like Saints row, and Saints row 2 is dead and buried.

    The developers have publicly stated SR4 was a mistake and they are going to fix that mistake by making the most hyper woke gen z game possible. The game is a soulless pure cringe unplayable mess. Anything even remotely fun has been removed from the game. Every character is unlikeable to the point you will want throw something at your TV.
