The game was actually quite fun. Are there bugs? Yes. Are the characters blah? Yes. Is this something you've seen before? Yeah.     Gat out of hell had more effort put into it... the story sucked the characters were worse and the gameplay was somehow less responsive than Fallout 76. I tried to look past the story and characters and try to enjoy the game part... 10 hours in and I already requested Xbox for a refund.

After a month to patch it I still get random crashes of the app, horrendous graphics pop-in, weird shimmer effects and bad rendering on ground surfaces and bugs that prevent mission completion. This is all compounded by dumb design decisions such as blocking fast travel once you start a mission, even if the first task in the missionNot the way to make a reboot - less fun and more glitchy.     A history disconnected from what Saints Row is about and completely disconnected to what the FANBASE WHO MADE THIS FRANCHISE believes. This is wokeness degeneracy at it's finest.

    It's a shame to see a lot of IP's going down the drainer this way.

    The story is extremely bad, but luckily the story line is short, but the game forces the player to repeat extremely boring tasks just to be able to start some of the missions.

    Previous Saints Row games were way more fun with a friend, but sadly that feature wasn't even stable here. I have no idea if they have fixed that today, since I completed the game solo, but my saint-friend gave up on the game but couldn't refund it due to us trying for too many hours to get co-op running stable.

    And to have NPC body-shaming you when being shirtless or naked, white people puke when they see a shirtless black person, pukes in front of my transgender boss... I guess DeadlySteph, DeepSilver and Volition approves such public behavior.

    The graphics are far from impressive in 2022, even compared to previous Saints Row titles.

    I honestly only hope that this game has proven to the future development of games that we will never see games like this again.

    I think that saints row is seriously fun, funny and charming. There was not a mission or side hustle that I didn’t enjoy but my favorite was the larp one.

    I've been a huge fan since the first game. I've enjoyed all the saints row games up until now. They game has had many changes and themes but always managed to keep it fun and engaging.     Outdated and repetitive gameplay in a lifeless open world. Decent graphics but expect lots of pop-in and bugs on console. Poorly written dialogue and an uninteresting storyline made this a tedious gaming experience. Would not recommend this game.

    Wow. I wanted to like this game, especially after I saw people review bombing it for being woke. I've played and loved every Saints Row game, even the first one, and after finishing this one I have to say it easily steals the spot of worst Saints Row game.

    I don't really care about preachyness and wokeness in video games unless it gets absolutely overwhelming and becomes the entire    Wow. I wanted to like this game, especially after I saw people review bombing it for being woke. I've played and loved every Saints Row game, even the first one, and after finishing this one I have to say it easily steals the spot of worst Saints Row game.

    I don't really care about preachyness and wokeness in video games unless it gets absolutely overwhelming and becomes the entire point of the narrative (Life is Strange 2), and I have to say I honestly didn't see much of that in this. Other than the main characters being a strategically multi-racial group of annoying millennial hipsters, that is, and I only even noticed that because all the angry reviews had me looking for it going in. People have mentioned the character creator, and they're right, its terrible. Its nearly impossible to make a female character that doesnt look transgender. I don't know why this is, but I doubt it's intentional since the creator is so bad compared to the previous games. This game isn't propaganda, its just bad.

    For one the shooting system is almost identical to the one in Saints Row 2 made over a decade ago. The guns give little feedback and are annoyingly unresponsive making the whole thing feel janky and unresponsive. This was fine in Saints Row 3 and 4 when there was a ton of outlandish weapons to keep your mind off it, but none of that is present here.

    The humor is bad. There are definitely some laughs to be had, the writing isn't completely terrible all the time, it does have its moments. But a lot of that will be lost if you don't pick one of the 2 good voices available for your character, both of which are female. The voices this time are just really bad. The masculine black guy voice that I built my character around in all of the games from 2 onward is now gone, replaced by this whiny high pitched voice that sounds like Urkel from that tv show and its just terrible. Thank god the game lets you reconfigure the entire appearance of your character whenever you want.

    The missions are ok, but they are repetitive and most of the open world activities are copies of the ones in previous games. This is fine, they are still a lot of fun, and the crazy over-the-top violence and explosions are still here, but lacking the humor of the first games. Sadly, the main story is nowhere near as creative as the original series, and it's also stupidly short, and heavily padded by requiring you to do busywork. For instance, in SR 2 dealing with the police anti-gang task force takes almost half the game, and its awesome. Here its just one mission, taking 5 minutes out of your day to intimidate an entire police force into submission.

    The villains actually had potential, but they squandered it by loosing focus and basically forgetting about them by the end of the game. They introduce an entirely new villain in the last mission of the game. I'm not joking there, they seriously invent a new villain for you to kill just to resolve this disaster of a story and it is even more stupid than it sounds.

    I don't know what happened here. There are some actually good ideas, like the new powers you get for leveling up. More grounded and practical than the ones in 4, the progression system could have been awesome but unfortunately they didn't add any more than that. Combine those skills with the stat buying system from 3 and 4 and this part of it would have come out great. Car and gun upgrading is breathtakingly simple, there are no specific upgrades you can get like in 2,3 and 4, just pump money into the gun to boost its stats. Boring as hell and way more primitive than the previous games. Its poorly optimized and crash prone (I had to restart it at least once every 4 hours, not enough to make me quit, but annoying), but no amount of extra development time would have fixed the problems evident in the gameplay and story.

    Despite the failure this game is sure to be, I hope they keep making SR games, but when they do, it needs to be another reboot. We can't have a direct sequel progressing out of this, there are a few likeable characters, but volition has shown before that they can do MUCH better than this.    … Expand

    Amazing game does not deserve the hate I can’t put it down the gameplay is so snappy and satisfying the open world is very beautiful and entertaining it feels more rooted to the original Saints games it’s a great time definitely recommend!

Not funny, combat system sucks, dumbass glitches. Which for a game that was delayed why is there glitches? Horrible writing. Just don't buy. If you feel the urge to buy look up game play footage on youtube.

    I really enjoy this game. I did not have major bugs except in the mission entitled Good Cop/Bad Cop. I had a weird zooming issue when entering a helicopter for the mission. The main characters reminded me of the characters from television show, New Girl, and I was all for it. Some of the storytelling elements are choppy, but I had a very good time with this game overall. It definitely feltI really enjoy this game.     Sanitized characters with very little humor and the whole thing just felt like a bunch of boomers and older Gen X’ers trying to write what they thought would appeal to millennials and zoomers. Student loans, yadda yadda yadda, late stage capitalism, yadda yadda yadda, evil imperialist corporation… If the Steve Buscemi “how do you do fellow kids” scene/meme were a video game, this would be it.

    Driving and shooting is janky af, the vast majority of missions are just “go here, pick up thing, bring it back”, even the main story missions. The “gang building” is but a pale imitation of the first two SR games. Visually the game looks like something from mid-last gen only with volumetric fog and heat distortion effects for the hell of it -- but there's nothing here that can excuse the game's absolutely awful performance. Unstable frame rates, copious frame drops, stutters, extreme texture pop in, missing textures, the list goes on. And the list of bugs I encountered, many minor, some gamebreaking, would be too long to type.

    26 hours played to reach 100% completion and I only bothered because I didn't have anything better to play at the moment. I cannot recommend this game, especially not to Saints Row fans. This is a dumbed down, forgettable, "politically correct" version of the Saints and it feels like a game the original Saints Row would have absolutely pilloried. Saints Row 4 accurately predicted this with their parody signs reading: "REBOOT IS DEATH". This is, indeed, the death of a once fun franchise. Rest in Peace, Third Street Saints.    … Expand

    Decent game, the story is okay. It's not game of the year level but it is good. I feel it's getting alot of unjustified hate. My and my friend have been playing it non stop since launch and its not gotten boring yet. It has some bugs but not anymore that other titles do now days. Overall a good game.

    A buggy embarrassing mess with an empty open-world ad the "villains" and protagonist look like a bunch of people who hang out at coffee shops 5 days out of the week and cry when they have to drink whole milk. They're just unlikable characters and it stings the soul when the game tries to make them seem like "heroes.

    I've been a fan of Saint's Row since the beginning of the franchise. They should have waited a bit longer to release it and worked on fixing some issues but it turns into an enthralling game. Saints Row IV was the best in the series to me, but Saints Row V has a ton of fun quirks that you shouldn’t miss. Nice to not always have to deal with the **** weapons or the extreme perversion, but something still violent, vulgar, and funny.     Good things I really like are: character creation and that it's possible to change your character body and appearance any time as well as quite good voice acting, sound engineering and solid cut-scenes. Also: model behaviour (although too fast movement is a pain)
    All in all, I deeply regret how this game turned out. There are almost no alternatives to GTA, which is stagerring, based on how many people like this kind of games. One of the only rivals of GTA present a game which is incredibly shallow. The question remains: WHY?    … Expand

    The controls are clunky, the gameplay is very same-same and the story is average.

    I don't get why it's getting so much hate. The customization is awesome. The gameplay is smooth. The graphics are amazing and the story is cheesy but I love it.

    Boring, repetitive missions that you can't even fast travel to it's start location
    Sterilized changes to old SR dirty jokes THAT NO ONE TOOK OFFENSE TO
    The vehicle and weapon customization are just barely passable, but even that's pathetic.

    Top to bottom, this is a FAILURE. Go back to the drawing board Volition. You've tried and COMPLETELY FAILED at making a game. No one who's actually played the Saints Row series wanted this, and now you're paying the price for COLOSSAL FAILURE.

    Make a story actually worth enjoying and characters that aren't some cross combination of a crappy ABC and CW show. We told you what we want. We don't want YOUR take on Saints Row. We want the Saints Row that actually looked like it could compete with Grand Theft Auto.    … Expand

    I was a saint row fan since SR1 ,but the reboot 2022 is really really disappointed, main story is way too short and boiling. Tons of tons of bugs. What a shame it really is a terrible game. I’ve half finished the game and decided to delete that game and put it on the 2nd hand market tomorrow. I’m a bit upset, I expected this game for a long long time, but it really crap.

    the game is an absolute blast, but its still got some bugs, easy to soft-lock your char by using your ability's too fast and crashes sometimes if played for too long, its not the end of the game, its still a lot of fun and is just, more so an inconvenience, there's some physics bugs that can be fun but clearly although the game feels not fully play-tested, all and all its a good fun gamethe game is an absolute blast, but its still got some bugs, easy to soft-lock your char by using your ability's too fast and crashes sometimes if played for too long, its not the end of the game, its still a lot of fun and is just, more so an inconvenience, there's some physics bugs that can be fun but clearly although the game feels not fully play-tested, all and all its a good fun game that just needs some patching, minor patching, not major, just fixing soft-locks mostly, and adding the ability to land on big tucks, I don't mind the random car launches, that's saints row for you, leaving bugs untouched like that cause its silly and non serious and sometimes useful, all and all just needs patching on the more serious issues… Expand

    The game looks disgusting, the controls are terrible, it feels like I didn’t buy an AAA title, but a game for a mobile phone with a bunch of glitches that make it even impossible to pass it without 100 reloads, terribly disappointed.

    Played and beat it in not even 4 hours(6hrs if you count all side missions)... Feels like any other Saints Row too the point that if you've played the first one than you've played this one. There's little in newly thought of content. Feels like all of the others except a little bit more dumbed down and gender fluid driven(i.e. No gender slider and even if a male character is picked you'dPlayed and beat it in not even 4 hours(6hrs if you count all side missions)... Es mi primer Saints Row y he de decir que me está gustando, algo repetitivo, SI, falta de doblaje al castellano, SI, pero malo no es, se ve de lujo, las main quests son entretenidas, se parece a una mezcla entre los Far cry y un GTA.     It is just the definition of mediocre. As a hardocre SR2 fan, literally top 5 favorite games of all time. There is enough classic SR "things" in this game to make you have some good moments. But it is just the absolute bare minimum. Not to mention for every cool mission, fun activity or spontaneous moment.     I bet the game. Over 80% completion rate. Did all the side ventures and most of the side activities. Explored a great amount etc. I have no interest to play the game again. Which is sad because Santo Illeso is beautiful. But it is just so damn shallow. Just like the game as a whole, its wasted potential.

    the only good thing is character creation and customization, but since it was always this good i can't praise it much cause all they had to do is not change it and they did.

    This must be the most unlikeable and cringiest characters ever in a video game. Probably a reflection on the diversity hires that put this game together. It was always going to fail. Go woke get broke. Will they ever learn.
