    There is no reason for this game to exist and it is worse in everyway to the original besides the graphics department. Leon moves like an old grapa or something, shoots slow, reloads slow. His run is like a light jog and enemies catch up to him in an instant and land attacks. Speaking of enemies, a lot of them are extremely frustrating to deal with. Playing on hardcore was the worse gaming experience I have ever had and Ninja Gaiden 1 and 2 are my favorite games of all time. They tried to make the game hard but went the wrong way about it. The knife is a new major mechanic and it breaks extremely fast, the meele vest from the other has durabilty and after 4-5 hits it breaks and needs to be repaired. They added realism and ruined what makes gaming fun. Capcom is trash and there will probably never be another noteworthy RE game.… Expand

    I am confident that Resident Evil 4 Remake will forever be the absolute peak of the Survival Horror genre. This title delivers on cutting-edge visuals, atmospheric exploration, tense encounters, tight combat design, engrossing puzzles and impeccable writing. I love how they managed to balance nostalgia with freshness so that people both new to the series as    CAPCOM HAS IT DONE IT AGAIN!

    I am confident that Resident Evil 4 Remake will forever be the absolute peak of the Survival Horror genre. This title delivers on cutting-edge visuals, atmospheric exploration, tense encounters, tight combat design, engrossing puzzles and impeccable writing. I love how they managed to balance nostalgia with freshness so that people both new to the series as well as fans of the iconic original entry will be fully immersed.

    It's heartening to witness that the development team behind this remake completely understood how and why the original RE4 became such a beloved game and as a result, carried across all the significant details while enhancing them with a modernized flair. The witty one-liners, tactical depth, occult themes, top-notch gunplay, nonsensically rambling Spaniards, it's all there!

    As a hardcore fan of the Resident Evil series I couldn't be any happier. This is a dream game come to life. Make sure to dive in without knowing anything about it cause it has abundant surprises in store. I wholeheartedly recommend REmake 4 to any and every gamer out there. CAPCOM has gifted us with a masterpiece that is as essential to experience as 2005's RE4 was. Dare i say it, perhaps even more so...

    Really disappointing, too much cut content in this game especially my favorite boss U-3 ,Its just RE3 in a different setting, same clunky controls, same boring weapon sounds and music, its just so lame compared to the original, the death scenes are trash, the blood is too much to fill the screen, and there are no chainsaw decapitations

    The camera is too close to be fighting El Gigante, the water visual against Del Lago is trash, the cinematography of the movie is very bad compared to the original, and the most stupid thing is that in this game you can kill Ashley, but they removed the word "women" which makes it non sense for censorship and also they cut other iconic words, what a lazy developer.    … Expand

    Now this is a real Resident Evil, they fixed everything that was frustrating and massive in the old one, modernized it, deepened the story, gave it a more survival horror atmosphere, and reduced the amount of ridiculous scenes from the old one (yes, I'm talking about you lasers). Definitely the best Remake, it not only modernizes but IMPROVES, I hope Outbreak gets a remake like this.

    El juego original del ´05 era la evolucion de jugabilidad de la saga, la historia nunca tuvo una trama buena, rescatar a la hija del presidente es tan anticuado como como las peliculas de los 80´s, este juego presenta la misma historia pero sin una evolucion real como lo mostro su original, lo que lo hace otro juego mas del monton del motor RE como el Remake del 3 y RE 7.

    Half the 10 ratings are from crybabies, ooh look at me, please delete all the ratings that are not 10, the game is a mess, a lot of parts are missing, leagues behind the original, the gameplay is terrible, leon movements are boorish, character desings... cringe, and the story was fun back in 2005, now is ridiculous.

Beat RE 4 OG a dozen times on GC, PS2, WII, PS3, PS4, and PS5. Currently on Chapter 13 of the Remake and I really don't want to continue.

    Missing many game modes that were available with OG from day 1 (Mercs, Assignment Ada, and Separate Ways). You know Crapcom will launch a Gold Edition 6 months from now at $60.
    Aiming is horrible. They removed the laser-aim that was available with all weapons in the OG.
    AI is brutally tough and unfair. Remake on Standard difficulty is harder than Pro mode in OG. I died 35 times in OG Pro, 75 times in Remake, Stan.
    Ton of super tedious puzzles that are based on trial-and-error. Wasted hours on stupid puzzles. Puzzles in OG were mostly fun, quick, and logical.
    Graphical glitches. Screen tearing, low-res and blurry textures, black screens, pop-in, etc.
    Weapons lack the oomph of OG.
    Sound effects suck.
    Removed decapitations from OG. WTF. You can't decapitate enemies via suplexes, or bullets to the face like the original. The shotgun, handgun, and riffle have all been nerfed in Remake. Far weaker and feel like toys instead of real guns like OG that pack a serious wallop.
    Poor voice acting.
    PC plot. No ballistics, overtime, or checking out Ashley's bits. I loved the campy humor and one-liners from OG.
    Music is crap. Not a single standout track. Of course, if you want the original soundtrack you need to fork over an extra $10 on the Deluxe Edition. Crapcom doing what is does best.
    You need to spend money repairing your knife and body armor. WTF. imagine spending 100,000+ simply on repairing basic items. In the OG, both your knife and body armor were indestructible from the start.    … Expand

There are so many things to say before we start examining it that I don't know where to start. In the past, when asked a question about what would have happened if Re4 had been a terrible game, everyone would have said Re5. Now the answer to this question is Re4 remake. Everything about the original game has been made terrible. Let's move on to our review. Let's start with the mechanics. I want to mention the RE Engine, although this game engine was very bad, it didn't make itself noticeable from a woody camera angle like FPS, but when the Re2 remake came out, it slowly became clear how bad this game engine was. The feel of the hit and their physics were very bulky and unresponsive, but due to the structure of Re 2 remake, the zombies already had low artificial intelligence and were not very understood in this game either. The original game was such an active game that even when the remake demo came out, I saw that the RE engine could not withstand this active gameplay and how terrible the mechanics of the game made it. Enemies often don't react when they're hit The TPS camera angle is bad, no one expected it to be as good as the original game anyway, because the original game still has the best TPS mechanics and perspective ever, and there's been no equivalent, there's just been some close ones. Unfortunately, Re4 remake has become one of the games with the worst TPS mechanics ever. As for the gameplay, there is self-defense with a knife in the game, and it definitely doesn't work properly, most of the time you get hit by the enemy, and this raises your nerve level quite a lot. I would like to mention the boss fights, but I will give them a separate place at the end of the review. Now we can move on to the department designs. There are too many sections removed from the original game and it affects the fluency of the game a lot, the village where we started the game interpreted the original game in reverse and we are going the opposite way. As for the castle section, it feels very different from the original game, most of the places have been removed, most of them have been made of terrible designs, most of them feel like a huge empty box. There is nothing to mention in the island section, most of the places have been changed, just like the castle. Unlike the original game, the episode designs do not contribute to the mechanics of the game, soulless designs. Now there is something I want to mention in the original version of Re4. Atmosphere, ambience and music these three things made the ojrnial game one of the best horror games ever in history. Re 4 remake is a disgrace in this regard, even the remake has become a complete action game. Re4 remake is the same action game as Re5. The atmosphere, ambience and music have been completely removed, you are doing nothing but shooting enemies who are flocking to you, and the terrible TPS mechanics of the game make this situation even more difficult. The terrible music has been completely removed. If you play the game in its original sounds, these soundtracks come back, but the fact that the atmosphere of the game is a disgrace negatively affects these soundtracks as well. Now we can come to the boss designs that I mentioned at the beginning of the review. All the bosses in the game repeat the same movements, whose modified designs have become incredibly easy and simple, until the fight is over. Salazar, the krauser bosses have been radically changed and have become a disgrace, I don't even want to talk about salazar in particular. Tactical analysis in bosses, you just need to rain bullets on them with your removed weapons. The bosses show their weak points themselves. As I said, the other bosses are incredibly easy to either do the same moves or jump around, especially the last boss. In addition, one of the best and most iconic bosses of the game, U-3, has been removed from the game. Along with Verdigo, I strongly condemn the makers of the two scariest and most difficult bosses in the Resident evil series. The Verdigo boss is one of the most difficult bosses in the history of the game, you feel almost soulslike desperation, and now that this difficulty has been completely eliminated, you can rain all your bullets on Verdigo. There are a few things I would like to mention one last time. I want to talk about the character modeling of the game. In this game, the photorealistic character graphics continue, and all the characters look so terrible. Separate ways, Assignment Ada and mercenaries are not in the game. We came to the end of our review, the original game was the best game ever in history, Capcom couldn't handle it. If they had pushed a little harder, it would have been a game as outrageous as Re Village and Operation Raccoon City Re 4 remake. As for the rating of the game, 20/100… Expand

    Having played teh hell out of the OG ps2 version. This is quite a remaster. Quite the modernization as well. Back then, the controls were clunky, but here it is quite smooth. You wish you had a few things gameplay wise back then, and here you have them. The Story remains true, but the path taken has changed. Some cut content has been made compared to the original. New weapons been added, a crafting system that really really helps out when the ammo drops are poor and you really need it. Wish they got the original VA for the merchant, but hey. This could’ve easily been a $70 release, and they decided to stick with a $60 price tag.     Here's a few examples of a bad horrible reason to give it a bad review:

    "Ada's voice actress is terrible" - Ada probably has 4 minutes of screen time at most in a 20 hours game

    "The physics are horrible when you kick a ganado" - The idea is to give you and your enemies some space when getting grouped up on. It's a video game

    "The dialogue is campy" - have you played any RE games before? In fact - capcom wanted to keep some of the campiness because some of the lines are iconic "where's everyone going? Bingo?"

    Some people are not going to enjoy the game and that's cool. People have their own personal tastes.

    But if you are review bombing a game to suck the fun out of something that's genuine well put together and praised by everyone just to stir the pot then you need to seriously touch some grass.    … Expand

    O jogo original tem criatividade, criou personagens do zero, não usou atores para tudo, não tinha quedas de desempenho com tanta frequência, a jogabilidade era melhor, o estilo gráfico era mais original, o enredo 100x melhor, afinal, foi lá que começou tudo.

    Já o remake é péssimo, queda de desempenho, personagens foram usados atores pois os desenvolvedores não conseguem mais criar um personagem do zero, a jogabilidade lenta me irrita, o enredo modificado ficou péssimo, os gráficos nada demais!     Great game. Feels like the original. Few minor things that i personally disliked, i attempt to stealth my way through some of the stages but they just respawn which irritates me. Other then that the game is amazing. The enemies look and feel scarier. The game felt good. I def think this is one of the better Remake games out there. Great job.

    Perfect remake. Anybody giving this a negstive review is outright wrong and needs to stfu. Superb controls, graphics, visceral gameplay and gore. And all in all, the game is just outright incredibly fun to play.

    This game deserved to be one of the best RE game, also a great remake so far. Although, some sections of the game has cut from the original, still the nostalgic feeling while playing still in the game. Masterpiece!!! By the way, screw the cringey negative scored spammers.

    Absolutely stays true to the original while still staying fresh and developing it's own atmosphere.The puzzles are more original, the graphics are incredible and the overall feel is smooth. Not sure what the FPS issue is with people but I played on performance mode on Series X and it ran like a dream. On par with the RE2 remake. Multiple playthroughs are in store.

This game is like soulsborn difficult without the souls mechanics to compensate. I'm just endlessly dying without enough resources to upgrade to stay equal to the enemies I'm fighting. I don't know y'all, this is simultaneously one of the best remakes out there, while being one of the worst. My God, even one of the OG boss fights I sincerely don't understand how NOT to get hit. It has random dodge mechanics for some attacks and others seem like guaranteed homing attacks that are unavoidable and take half your health or more. I was so excited for this release that I took my vacation from work for it, I want my vacation time back now. It's not garbage but the difficulty is beyond souls anger-inducing. I actually recommend waiting for a price drop, didn't even release with merc mode. Kinda annoys me that it's getting so much praise, I had like 10 rating fun with the og and this is like 4 on the fun scale.     The best game Ever made. It removed the non so good things of the OG and improve on them and kept the perfect ones. It shaked the game landscape but it kept his story and iconic places. The best remake we have so far on any franchise and Will be like that for a long time.

    Easily the greatest remake of a game to date, just beating out the Dead Space remake.

    The story has been polished with slight tweaks here and there, the gameplay has been modernised whilst still retaining the frantic action/horror of the original.

    My favourite game of 2023 so far.

    - New gameplay mechanics add SO MUCH to the gameplay loop especially the block/Parry mechanic with knife! Makes everything so much more intense and fun.
    - For every small thing cut (mostly QTEs and padding segments) they added in new Areas and new puzzles and even New Enemies and A new boss.
    - Remake is actually longer then the OG -The story and Dialogue is SO much better, especially the dynamic between Leon and Krauser
    - We have 3 new weapons and all 3 are awesome
    -Unlocks like Ashleys armor, Chicago typewriter and Handcannon are in
    - Mercenaries is in it's free dlc April 7th! Again it's FREE.
    - Seperate Ways is confirmed via many leakers to be worked on and will have new and extra content over the OG version.

I've played the original since I was a kid but this remake already surpassed the OG one imo. This title deserves GOTY 2023 man!

So Capcom almost never dissapoints when it comes to remakes (except Resident Evil 3 which is a good game but with a lot of cut material and it seems more like an expansion rather than a full length game).     The story of the game is a mediocre story, the gameplay is very enjoyable and attractive, in terms of visuals, it is equal to Cross Gen 2023 games and has a stunning visual, the main boss fights are very similar to each other. The sound design of the game is wonderful, the enemies have a good variety and only one new type of enemy has been added to the remake compared to the original version.

    Resident Evil 4 Remake not only does right by its original source of inspiration, but it also sets a high bar for what modern day remakes can be. All components of the story have been finetuned into a more well-thought out package, and that’s before mentioning the game’s full use of today’s graphical prowess to deliver a more terrifying interpretation of rural Spain. The core gameplay also retains what made it so great back in the day, but with modern amenities such as a parrying system, quick-select for weapons and the ability to run. And despite the new improvements, the increased aggressiveness of the enemies ensures that the game never feels like a cakewalk. I don’t know who still needs to be convinced at this point, but Resident Evil 4 is a masterpiece that I cannot recommend enough.
