    Biggest disappointment of the year so far ,boss fights are disappointing and easy ,no tension or atmosphere , story is not setup ,leon moves like a snail ,so frustrating .

    This remake exceeded every expectation I had for it. They changed certain things but for the better in my opinion. It stays true to its original story, looks amazing, and built on the characters more. Whether you’re new to the series or an OG RE fan, if you haven’t played it yet, PLEASE give it a shot. You will have a blast while playing!

    Phenomenal remake definitely the best one by far that capcom has ever made. The sound track, the character development, the graphics, the gameplay, the atmosphere, was all handled with so much care. This is a staple of how a remake should be done.

    Gameplay and story feel improved and some characters were expanded upon. I also love the atmosphere compared to the original, And another thing I liked was that it feels improved in most ways while not replacing the original from 2005 although this remake has surpassed the original for me.

    El mejor remake de un resident evil, que aunque faltaron algunas cosas se agregaran con un DLC a futuro, realmente es un excelente juego, jugabilidad, trama, respeta lo original modifica algunas cosas pero no las eliminaron, realmente un juego que debes jugar si o si.

    De maneira geral eu amei as novas mecânicas e o estilo da gameplay. Eles deixam o jogo mais diversificado, te dá novas possibilidades e maneiras de enfreitar os inimigos, aqui o jogo nos permite usar a criatividade em diversos momento .

    Historia do jogo
    A história do jogo foi levemente alterada, digo que o termo "reformulada" se encaixa muito bem, pois ela mantém a essência do original, e acrescenta alguns pontos que não foram abordados ou mostrados no RE4 original. Isso é muito interessante, deixa o jogo mais imersivo, parece que aquilo era para acontecer ali e ser ali. Os documentos, alguns elementos, acontecimentos, inimigos que você enfrenta. Isso tudo faz mais sentido agora, pq aqui tudo foi mais bem pensado e organizado

    Inimigos e chefes
    A Capcom foi bem fiel ao jogo antigo em relação aos inimigos. Mudaram algumas mecânicas de boss fight, alteraram um ou dois chefes (alteração que n achei extremamente valida), adicionaram alguns modelos de inimigos e reformulam outros, adcionaram novos subchefe e manteram quase todos os antigos. Aqui só senti um pouco de criatividade para desenvolverem mais alguns subchefes, talvez um pouco menos de conservadorismo ajudasse nessa questão. Em compensação os infectados em geral estão bem mais agrecivos, bem polidos e inteligentes.

    Cenários e ambientação
    Meu, aqui entregou tudo. Alguns cenários são totalmente iguais ao jogo original, outro com algumas alterações e outros totalmente novos. O que interessa neste ponto, é que foram acrencentados, elementos que nos fazem lembrar que aquilo estava no RE4 original. Dando uma sensação de nostalgia, familiarização e fluidez de game. Alguns cenários foram realmente cortados, mas ao meu ver, são partes que n acrencentam nada a trama, ou que eram cenários tediosos de se jogar. Alguns acontecimentos e cenarios são trocados durante a trama, para se encaixar melhor com os acontecimentos.
    A ambientação está perfeita. O jogo está sombrio em partes que devem ser sombrias, o jogos tem elementos de ação em partes que devem ter ação. Equilibraram muito bem esses dois polos de Resident, pois sempre vimos partes mais sombrias e partes com mais ação e tiroteios na franquia.
    Mais um ponto super positivo, não senti falta dos cenários cortados, a maneira que trabalharam, para aquilo nos passar sentimentos, foi sensacional. Além de ter novos lugares pare explorar.

    Personagens, dialogos, e dublagem
    Pra começar, para mim a dublagem está muito boa. Existem muitas referências brasileiras e modernas, manteram a essência dos personagens com pequenas trocas de falas, e o jeito que os personagens se comunicam uns com os outros.
    Falando em comunicação de personagens, aqui vemos momentos, em que os personagens se comunicam mais uns com os outros, e interagem com o cenário, soltando algum comentário ou interagindo com o mesmo.
    Os personagens estão bem trabalhados, alguns mais desenvolvidos e com mais tempo de tela. E outros do mesmo jeito que sempre foi.
    De maneira geral, mais um ponto positivo aqui, só temos evolução e coisas que acrencentam a história do Remake.


    Qualidade gráfica e performnace
    Que jogo lindo. a riqueza dos detalhes, modelagem, animações, luz, sombra e outros detalhes. Estão todos muito bem trabalhados, tudo nesse jogo se encaixa perfeitamente, e aqui nos gráficos, vemos uma performance muito bem trabalhada, se levamos em conta a qualidade gráfica que jogo nos entrega. O único ponto negativo que senti, foi em relação a um atraso em carregamento de texturas, mas n fois algo que atrapalhou a minha gameplay.
    Os requisitos do meu PC estavam entre o mínimo e o recomendado, rodei tudo no alto e não tive problemas com travamentos.

    Observações finais
    Minha experiência jogando foi sensacional, perfeito, nostálgico e muito frenético.
    Eu amei o jogo em todos os aspectos, a maneira que trabalharam a evolução da história, personagens, cenários e ambientação. Deixaram o jogo perfeito e com desejo de quero mais, mesmo depois de 15h de gameplay. Minha experiência foi ótima.

    Resident Evil 4 (2023) exceeds all expectations and is faithful to the original. It once again has a perfect blend of action and horror, and keeps you engaged until the very end. If you played the original and wanna try something different, I highly recommend playing it.

    i Love the original Re4 but I loved it even more because there was a remake of RE4 this 2023 many new things like leon became more handsome ..especially Ashley. the place has improved but a lot has been lost in the original that is not in the remake. Another thing is that re4 is more scary and difficult now compared to the previous re4.more brutal btw congrats CAPCOM .

Resident Evil 4 was my favorite in the series which might make the game itself sit a lot weaker for me, so I'll point out all the issues.     sinceramente amei o jogo ele melhorou quase tudo do antigo e ele esta bem otimizado para o pc consigo rodar muito bem em um pc com 8 de ram e um ryzen 3200g com o gráfico integrado consigo rodar o jogo a base de 60 a 45 fps obrigado capcom só não dou 10 por falta do U3 porque o resto esta bom

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Re4Re is an excellent game. Much better than Re3Re. It keeps a lot of things the same while changing up the story and cutting some content here and adding it there. I think the remake is a much more balanced experience than the original and much more accessible to the modern gamer. Gameplay tweaks have helped to modernize the remake in certain aspects. One of the biggest complaints of the remake is leons sluggish movement, which I actually appreciated. I was worried about what a modern control scheme would do to the game since the tank controls were such an integral part of the fear in the gameplay of the original, but it seems capcom was aware of this and instead made leon move more sluggishly in order to nerf the control scheme of a modern third person shooter. Movement was always a source of anxiety in the original and I'm glad to see they have somewhat preserved that idea in the remake. One of the biggest complaints of the original is that it drug on for too long and I feel that capcom did a beautiful job of trimming some of the fat off of the story. Theres only one missing boss fight as far as I can tell that upset me but for the most part I really like what they did with the story. I also appreciated the new crafting system as it helped to maxmize income and helped me to more comfortably afford upgrades and items. I also like what they did with the knife system - knives now break and must be crafted and repaired but they are also much more useful. Enemies that grabbed leon can be instantly broken away from and damaged using the knives which helps to keep combat flowing a bit more smoothly. If other players don't appreciate that system as much as I did, a knife with infinite durability can be unlocked by breaking all of the costellan statues. I feel that capcom put a lot of thought into the changes of the remake and allowed it to be a wholly new experience while also sticking as close as possible to the original, I was very pleasantly surprised, I honestly thought this game would be terrible after the resident evil 3 remake. I'm so glad it wasn't. This is a great game, my only complaints are that it doesnt hit 60fps and I didnt like the change to salazars' boss fight and the removal of the u-3 bossfight. 9/10… Expand

    Relação do Leon com tds os outros personagens são muito legais além de referências marcantes do jogo de 2005 destaque para a luta contra o krauser que senti arrepio de tão foda.

    I didn't play the original but have played the recent 7, 8, 1 and 2 versions of RE and after completing this one it is LEAGUES above the rest. The combat is smooth. You can parry and do finishers? Count me in.

    I had no idea how long the game would be and by chapter 8 I felt relatively fulfilled and was elated to realize I was only halfway through. It's the largest and longest out of the    I didn't play the original but have played the recent 7, 8, 1 and 2 versions of RE and after completing this one it is LEAGUES above the rest.     And of course it's beautiful!

    The charm system is fun along with the mini games that come with it. I like how they're releasing a free DLC soon as well.

    My main criticism would be wanting more outfits, like Leon's uniform from RE2 for example.

    Remake está muito bom, porém o erro é lançar a parte da Ada Wong como DLC futura sabendo que no original fazia parte do jogo

    I'd like to start with the people signing their own L's on Metacritic for all to see, just because you can't figure out enemy patterns or a method to fight against them doesn't make the game bad. It makes your ability to adapt and learn questionable to say the very least. That and "It doesn't feel like a RE game" absolute waffle    This is arguably one of the best remakes Capcom have done.

That and "It doesn't feel like a RE game" absolute waffle from people on their high throne trying to cast judgement too many people are trying to live off the days of fixed camera angles.

    Whilst not being a perfect 1 to 1 remake, I don't think that would have been the right thing to do. There are plenty of areas within the game that just feel incredibly familiar even without it being a direct copy of the original. It targets a nostalgic portion and targets a newer crowd a good mix that isn't trying to just be a simple copy paste something which RE2:Remake was guilty of. The fact this game isn't trying to be an entire copy paste is the reason its probably the best remake in the series.

    Puzzles have been slightly improved so they no longer are of the bog standard basic version that the OG RE4 were. Another nod to the nostalgic portion of RE fans who can never be pleased.    … Expand

    Resident evil 4 remake is a great game and way better then the original. My only issue with this remake is some of the content from the original has been cut from the game and Adas voice acting is not good by any means she sounds like she's phone calling in her line's. Que nunca había jugado al original, y me ha sorprendido el cambio de dinámica en el juego hacia algo más de acción.     - Ashley's personal is a lovable character
    - Ashley is not annoying sometimes
    - Ashley's gameplay is confusing
    - I think of Ashley that I'm protecting her instead of baby sitting her
    - Ashley's role is matured as a young adult
    - Ashley is now talkative than before
    - When Ashley talking to Leon while in the gameplay is one of my "wants" in the remake
    - Helping Leon is one of the thing that you will not hate Ashley.
    - The story is very understandable compare to the OG.
    - The game is not quiet anymore especially Leon and Ashley compare to the OG.
    - I both love OG and Remake, so since they are equal or respectfully each other, Remake promise to OG to improve everything and they actually did it.
    - They almost keep everything from the OG to Remake.
    - Each character model can be viewed (FINALLY!)
    - Shooting range is fun and hard!
    - The whole game is hard! and I love it!

    Negatives:

    Truly amazing experience and game. I loved the original game as well. I’ve played majority of all resident evil games and I have to say this game is top 2 and guess what.. it’s not #2. Ignore the stupid bad reviews and give it a go even if you haven’t played resident evil games before. Made me sad to finish it, but at least I can replay it over and over and there will be new modes comingTruly amazing experience and game. I loved the original game as well.     Tremendo remake este de RE4 , respeta muchísimo al original y además le agrega cosas que le sientan muy bien y alargan la vida útil del juego al darte ganas de volver a jugarlo una vez terminado. La verdad es de lo mejor que se ha visto en remakes, cuando le agreguen el modo mercenarios quizás complete el 10 perfecto.

I give it a 9 and not a 10 cause I have two main gripes: Leon is extremely heavy and slow, which can be tedious at times. And the voice acting is mediocre, especially Ada's. She sounds old, bored and dead inside. But the game is really cool and looks fantastic. I'm just notGreat job from Capcom who prove they are among the best at remakes.     Good visual enhancements overall, but like.... why play this when the original is still available and arguably still the better version gameplay wise?

    Feel Capcom was getting hungry for some easy cash flow, rather than putting out a product that actually improves ALL aspects of the game experience rather than a shiny retread.

While there are some minor issues, the game deserves a 10/10 because they are just MINOR issues.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I don't review games often but this game fell victim to troll websites who want to push down the rating on purpose. On the other hand im not going to let that influence my rating at all. This is just my honest opinion as a Resident Evil fan.

    As an OG Resident Evil fan i played the classics to death back in the 90's. When Re4 came out back in 2005 i wasnt the biggest fan of the change but i wanted to give it a chance because im always up for new things. What can i say? the game was amazing. I still favoured the classics and im not one of the people who say that OG re4 is the best re game but i would have given re4 a solid 8/10. for my review i will mostly compare re4 remake to the original re4 game from 2005.

    With all that in mind,
    lets review re4 remake.

    Story
    The story in RE4R is Way better than it was in OG RE4. The devs managed to stay truthful to the story and only a few minor things were changed.
    those changes actually made the story better. Pretty much every single character and every relationship in the game has more depth and is much more plausible than it was in the original. The original had a very, very simple, cheesy story. most characters were pretty flat. It was okay for the time but RE4R modernized it.
    Now im not saying that OG re4's story or characters were bad. Everyone loved leon after re4, and i also know that there are people who love OG re4's story for its cheesiness and its over the top action and silliness, i myself love OG re1 for its silly plot and dialogue.
    But RE4R's modern, more serious approach really made the story allot better, and find it hard to think about things i didnt like, the only thing i could come up with is Adas and krausers voice actors, who could have been more truthful to the originals or at least stayed truthful to RE2R Ada. Other than that, Leon may have been more iconic in the original but i think that comes down to personal preferance and personally i really like the new re2r and re4r Leon. Hes funny and badass while still maintaining a certain amount of seriousness that the OG Leon was missing in many parts. He also seems allot more vulnerable which helps me to identify myself with the character. Again im not saying that OG Leon was bad or that RE4R Leon is better. I'm saying RE4R Leon is not bad either.

    Visuals&Graphics

    The graphics Are beautiful for 2023 and are definitely an upgrade from OG re4's graphics and even from RE2R's graphics. Many sections in the game have a darker, thicker atmosphere than the OG did. One of the biggest problems classic fans had with OG re4 was that it wasn't very scary, and while RE4R isnt exactly the scariest game in the series, it definately feels way scarier than the OG.

    Audio.
    The audio is great too. Gun sounds and effects sound satisfying and realistic. The OST stays truthful to the original. i noticed allot of remixed songs from the original on my first playthrough. only bad thing would be the voice actors of ada and krauser as mentioned earlier. Krauser wasn't bad, but the voice actor was too far away from the OG krauser, which made it kinda difficult to get used to him.

    Game&Level design
    Once again the devs managed to stay truthful to the OG. Specific sections in the game were so close to the original that i knew what would happen next or how to fight certain enemies. They kept all the important stuff in the game and extended well known areas from the OG and added new stuff. Of course some things were cut and theres one big thing that shouldnt have been cut from the game, which is the U3 bossfight. U3 not being in the game is probably the biggest problem the game has. Other than that, It is not clear if there will be seperate ways and assignment Ada. But out of the new remake trilogy, RE4R is probably the one that stayed the most truthful to the original.

    Gameplay
    I played OG re4 in preperation for the remake and one thing that i noticed immediately were the outdated controls. The OG was meant to be played on a GC controller back in the day and it still had tank controls. Getting used to that was a mess. RE4R comes with modern controls and it just works. However, I have to criticise RE4R's gameplay. Compared to RE2R and RE3R, Leon doesnt always move how i want him to move and the camera doesnt always do what i want. I really don't understand what went wrong here. The mellee animations look very impressive tho and the new stealth attacks feel very satisfying. Overall very nice but cam control could have been a little better.

    Conclusion
    The devs really tried to stay very close to the OG and they delivered! RE4 Remake is just as good, if not better than the original. It did not fail neither as a Remake nor as a Resident Evil game. Its not perfect and there are a few changes but im not one of those nitpicky people who are never satisfied, who hate change and who want an almost identical copy of the OG. RE4 Remake has everything i want from a remake.    … Expand

    Ho cambiato il voice acting per la prima volta in un RE da inglese a giapponese è assolutamente ridicolo specialmente per Ada.
    Per chi sa lo spagnolo potra notare che per qualche ragione i nemici sono piu gentili e non ti insultano quanto prima, Leon evita tutti tipi di comenti che hanno reso famoso il gioco, Ada e Ashley sono molto coraggiose probabilmente per Capcom e piu importante essere politicaly correct che fare un buon gioco all faccia dei fan e consumatori che li hanno supportati per anni.

    The story of the game is a mediocre story, the gameplay is very enjoyable and attractive, in terms of visuals, it is equal to Cross Gen 2023 games and has a stunning visual, the main boss fights are very similar to each other. The sound design of the game is wonderful, the enemies have a good variety and only one new type of enemy has been added to the remake compared to the original version.

    Overall it holds together very well, and even though I played the whole game in two days with minimal sleep, I didn't even think about taking a break for a while. [Issue#327]

    Resident Evil 4 Remake not only does right by its original source of inspiration, but it also sets a high bar for what modern day remakes can be. All components of the story have been finetuned into a more well-thought out package, and that’s before mentioning the game’s full use of today’s graphical prowess to deliver a more terrifying interpretation of rural Spain. The core gameplay also retains what made it so great back in the day, but with modern amenities such as a parrying system, quick-select for weapons and the ability to run. And despite the new improvements, the increased aggressiveness of the enemies ensures that the game never feels like a cakewalk. I don’t know who still needs to be convinced at this point, but Resident Evil 4 is a masterpiece that I cannot recommend enough.
