    Wow, this must be a bad joke. Always on is bad enough, the ingame prices were bad enough before Patch 1.07/1.08 but the statement of kaz is a punch in the face. I hate myself for preordering this game now and i am a fan of this series from Part 1. My heart hurts.

    GRAN TURISMO 7 is a thin and weak CAREER DLC for GT Sport, with the higher graphics power of the PlayStation 5. Unfortunately this is not a real innovation. I don't mind the slow credit progress, or the microtransactions. What's piss me of, is the lack of real innovation in this product!!! The actual career mode (Café) is pretty short. Like on the original playstation 1. back in time. But for me it's not nostalgic at all, it is embarrassing, pathetic and lazy! In 2022 at least need to be a voice narration! It's mandatory. Not a simple text to read.
    Or interactive videos! That's how you do it. But text? So disappointing! My wishlist for GT7 features looks something like this: Dynamic time changes, Dynamic weather changes, Faster Ai, Yearly seasons in tracks (winter, autumn, ect), Improved penalty system, Custom offline championships (so much potential!), Voice messages in races, and in the menus too, to feel the characters alive. Fully customizable and mapable HUD!!! Proper race weekends, with qualifications. Game data out via UDP! As you see most of them still missing, nevertheless most of them doesn't require to much work from the developers... For example; customizable championships, HUD, or UDP data out is a simple one. ... oh, and the music rally or what the heck, is ridiculous     … Expand

    Microtransactions in a £70 grindy game. Automatic 0/10. The game itself ain't bad but these are some of the worst microtransactions I've ever seen and the fact that the developers are okay with this and think it's the way forward makes me want to vomit.

    They really know how to take the fun out of racing. After playing it for several hours, the campaign is bare bones and mediocre, the licenses are incredibly strict with some being impossible. The driving HUD and options are unintuitive and poorly designed. There are better racing games out there than this one, don’t play it.     Gran Turismo is an excellent serie that I'm really please to return after more than 15 years. The cars and tracks are really beautiful on PS5, the game is everytime fluid and we have a lot of tools to share pictures, skins and more with the community. The campaign is also really great to go through, with a lot a beautiful car to drive.

    However, 15 days after the release, they decide to    Gran Turismo is an excellent serie that I'm really please to return after more than 15 years. The cars and tracks are really beautiful on PS5, the game is everytime fluid and we have a lot of tools to share pictures, skins and more with the community. The campaign is also really great to go through, with a lot a beautiful car to drive.

    However, 15 days after the release, they decide to burried it. Rewards going down while the prices are increasing... Making the most rare cars really expensive is a point, but with that change it becomes insane... Who could want to play 30 hours on the same track (or pay more than 175$) to buy one of the most exsives cars ?
    And guess what, you have to buy 3 of them to get a silver trophy... Polyphony Digital please back to reason instead of betrying your community...

    And at te same time, make the game playable offline ! We don't want to have our game inaccessible because of your long maintenances...    … Expand

    GT7 looks and plays like a launch PS4 game at best. Ray tracing is a waste of time as it is only present in non gameplay features such as post race replays. The game also has a huge content problem and is polluted with not so micro-transactions for cars around up to $40 that used to be $5 in previous games. In summary, GT7 is a turd on wheels trying to be a racing sim. Even theGT7 looks and plays like a launch PS4 game at best.     Let me get this out of the way: I loved this game as it reignite my love for Simcade racing games. But the rally physics is just pure crap and I couldn’t even play the game since 17 March because of the new update. Talking about the new update, that makes me sick. Remind me of Asphalt 9 where they reduced cash payout for race and add in multiple layers of MTX so that players feel the needLet me get this out of the way: I loved this game as it reignite my love for Simcade racing games.     I have created an account here solely for this game. This is how strongly I feel about this game.

    I have been gaming for 32 years. I have bought every GT release ever, including all the prologues, specs etc. So I am a big GT lover. This game has been the one game above all else that I have been the most excited for. For the first 2 weeks, the game was a joy to play, and I was bemused    I have created an account here solely for this game. This is how strongly I feel about this game.

    I have been gaming for 32 years. I have bought every GT release ever, including all the prologues, specs etc. So I am a big GT lover. This game has been the one game above all else that I have been the most excited for.

    For the first 2 weeks, the game was a joy to play, and I was bemused by the complaints of other gamers. Visuals, sound, car physics etc are all top work. No complaints here at all.

    However, it becomes crystal clear when you are progressing through the Cafe mode, that the big thing in this game, is the microtransactions and the lack of the GT campaign. After the Cafe mode, which is a forced car collection, there is no GT campaign mode as you have in previous games. There is no section that lists the Amateur, Beginner, professional etc races. No menu where you can jump into the Sunday Cups, or the FF/FR Challenges etc.

    Gran Turismo without its campaign mode, and an easy way to jump into competition races, is absolutely abhorrent. This should have been made perfectly clear to us before buying the game.

    As you play the Cafe mode, you get roulette tickets for completing certain aspects - the roulette tickets are then an RNG encounter that is heavily, and I mean HEAVILY weighted to give you the lowest reward possible, and then IMMEDIATELY prompts you to buy credits from PSN. I am talking situations where there are 5 rewards, for example a race car, 500k credits, a engine swap, 1million credits, 5k credits. I have yet to receive any cars, any car parts, any gold bars. For every ticket, it has been the lowest credit reward. Reading social comments, this is the same for a large chunk of players.

    But it is ok, because you can sell your cars that you ha......oh no. Wait. Nope. Despite the PSN description saying it, and despite it being in GT games forever, you cannot sell your cars for credits. The push for MTX is sickening.

    But that isn't it.

    PD are that intent on forcing the MTX, that just yesterday they pushed an update which slashed the credits received for a load of races you select by navigating to the track selector. They did this because gamers were playing one track over and over to get credits, as the game as very little way of rewarding you.

    This update killed the game by the way, and as of writing this some 24 hours later, it is still broken. PD want this game online only as they are concerned about credit trading and hacking, so this £70 game is now useless when they are broken their end. (still cant play now)

    Playing the game naturally doesn't give the user the credits as they approach the end of the Cafe. In order for the player to gain new cars, aside the daily mileage rewards, there literally is nothing presented to the player. You can't jump into a menu with the competitions in as one doesn't exist. If you want to do a race that was in the Sunday Cup for example, you have to go to the track world, select one of the 3 world areas, then go through each track and select it, and then check what event it is used for, then select the event you want. Crazy navigations.

    When we saw the trailers, you see CGI of race weekends, with the trucks and trailers and pit crews etc. As of menu book 37 in the Cafe mode, there has been 1 race with standing starts, and 0 with tyre wear or fuel usage, and 0 with pit action.

    There are more things I could mention but I just don't have the effort in me to trash the GT name anymore. I am not angry, even though I should be. I am sorely disappointed that a franchise such as GT has been allowed to become a cesspool of MTX. There has been 0 thought here about how the player will feel with this aggressive push towards buying credits.

    The maddening thing, is that the game has all the ingredients there to be a superb racing game ; but they have thrown up a wall of MTX to halt the players progress in the hope they will use their credit card.

    This game has been deleted off my system, and unless there is a huge overhaul of this game, the GT franchise is now dead to me.    … Expand

    Moreover, the game is designed to push micro-transactions despite paying a AAA full price.
    UPDATE: They seem to be hearing about the mtx and the payout are going to be increased I'll try to adjust the score to the actual version when they update

    There is a fun game to be found in gran turismo 7, but with tedious rewards, grinding, server issues, lack lustre tuning and more, polyphony successfully pull you away from the fun in exchange for an incredibly boring experience.

    i can only do about an hour a day of racing, kazunori yamauchi says he doesnt want people to be pushed towards microtransactions but it will take me over a month to get the credits required to get just one single legendary supercar... this is so disgusting on top of the always online requirement. terrible game, i wish i could get a refund.

    But... It seems that Polyphony Digitals really want us to use micro transactions in their game because they decided in the last update to reduce the credits earned... So by now you need to do the same race 400 times... Or buy 20 Millions credits for 200$... Fine...

    It's a real shame because this game has a huge potential but for the moment it seems the Studio is more interesting in making money than making Customer Satisfaction.    … Expand

    GT7 started off good but the latest update and server outage has exposed this game for what it is now...it's a grind, it's last gen, and it's a rental. You start off driving slower cars and work your way up to better cars by winning races and earning licenses. The reality is... you'll never drive the best and fastest cars unless you buy them through microtransctions. The game starts good but after the lackluster campaign is done you are stuck doing very restricted races to earn your ONE daily roulette ticket and hoping a car you like pops up in the used car lot. It could take you weeks to earn enough in-game credits to buy some cars. And they've locked some behind a roulette system where you have to win an "invite" just to earn the right to buy them.     Very disappointed about what Polyphony Digital did here. Game not available for 30 hours, impossible to play offline, you need to be connected to the server even you play alone, why?? First problem but not the worst.... NOW THEY HAVE LOWER THE CREDITS YOU WIN WHEN YOU RACE( PAYOUT BEFORE 35K AND NOW 25K FOR EXAMPLE). Cars are very expensive and if you want to buy some cars you have toVery disappointed about what Polyphony Digital did here.     Bait and switch. Offer a single player game that is unusable offline is a major turnoff. Then once reviews are done, PD/Sony 1.07 release nerfs payouts to increase grind, ridiculously high priced "legendary" cars, no ability to sell cars, all in an effort to push MTX. BS

I have 0 desire to play GT7 online/multiplayer that’s why I hated Sport! I just want to play my game single player offline without any bs DRM nonsense forcing an online connection just to play my game. I understand things happen with updates and maintenance but in my case it left a very sour taste in my mouth and I no longer have any interest in investing my time or playing this game.     This is the worst Gran Turismo ever. Been a GT Player for 25 years starting on the first one on PSX. I have bought every GT ever since including GT7, The series was always a great game, some better than others but overall always good to play.

    The first disappoint was during setup when I had to select Performance or Quality for Graphics setting. I wanted quality to start with in order to witness Ray-Tracing but, Ray-Tracing was only enabled in Replay Mode and Photo Mode.

    Second disappointment was the woeful User Interface. Go to the Cafe, tap X multiple times to get through the dialogue of Lucas. Then get a Menu and click X multiple time again While dialogue from Lucas was displayed. Thankfully I quickly found a skip option in the settings but that just meant pressing the O button a lot instead of X. You then leave the cafe to go to another part of the UI and repeat the button bashing and repeat. Thankfully the dialogues get less but its a frustration at the start.

    Third disappointment, computer AI is very poor, they will run into you if you are on the line they want and 9 times out of ten you will end up in a spin. Only the top 2 cars seem to be any form of a challenge but even they have poor AI.

    Fourth disappointment was the bugs introduced in Update 1.06, incorrect tyre choices on Licence challenges. Unable to select dirt tyres on the rally stages and wet tyres on wet challenges. In fact, the tyre issue also had an affect on the main game with Racing Soft tyres giving better grip then full wets in a wet race.

    Fifth Disappointment, Update 1.07/1.08. 34 hours downtime due to always online single player game. Reducing payouts meaning Micro Transactions would look more appealing to some and, I still had issues with tyre performance although they tyre issue had been fixed in the Licence challenges.

    I decided that all of this within such a short space of the game being launched was reason enough to return the game for a refund. I will pick it up when I see it in a bargain bucket and hopefully the issues are fixed and the game has a lot more content worthy of the original asking price.

I remember GT6 obline where you got weekly missions to make some extra money and that is gone. I am selling the game and going back to GT6 and I am 37 old and I was the biggest fan of GT series from the first game 25 years ago. I even planned to buy Ps5 just for this game alone. Luckily I could not get my hands on ps5.

    Also, all single player races are essentially start 40+ seconds behind the leader and try to catch up. No qualifying to determine your starting grid position. This points to severely lacking AI in single player mode where all they could do to make it competitive was to make the player start 40+ seconds behind the AI.

    All in all, an absolute **** for a classic playstation exclusive. I've never left a Metacrictic review before but I just had to find somewhere to shout about how disappointing this whole fiasco is. I've been playing Gran Turismo since the PS1 days. It has had it's little moments of controversy before, but this situation is just indicative of the whole modern gaming landscape. Let's charge people a premium price for a product and then nickel and dime them for every cent they have just to enjoy the game.

    Unfortunately I've already bought the game so they probably couldn't care less about this opinion. All I can do is leave this comment to warn other people, and not play the game until something changes.

    Poor show Sony/Polyphony Digital. The user review backlash is throughly deserved.

    Polyphony have really dropped the ball with this one. Was good at launch but after some recent patches it has made the game way more of a grind to try and get you to buy the micro transactions. Plus the always online even if you only play the single player is a joke. I have went back to playing Forza 7 and Forza Horizon 5.

    The game lacks content. Like a lot, compared to the older games in the series. I came to the game expecting older day-to-day cars, tuning them up and enjoying a fun run, like in Gran Turismo 2, but all this game focuses on is super high end cars and concepts. They promised and did deliver on "over 400 different car TYPES", which includes like 5 different GTR R35-s and 3 different EK Honda Civics.. (and not even an EG Civic!).
    And if you even want to buy the high end cars and concepts - be ready to grind DAYS for one car because the microtransaction days are here.

    Driving mechanics feel off too, a lot of the RWD cars just act like the tyres really aren't connected to the ground. At any point your car can just go into a spin, and that's with the BEST tyres and suspension and downforce settings. And once you go to a spin, there's usually no coming back.
    Tracks are sort of lackluster too. Very few old masterpieces from older games.

    The HUD is clogged up and a bit confusing. It works, but it could be better.

    One big complaint that I share with many other people, is that the game is always online - in singleplayer. Which is absolutely ridiculous. If the servers were to go down (which they did for 30 hours), you can't play the game. Which also shortens the lifespan of the game by a considerable time. You can still play Gran Turismo 1-6. You can't play Gran Turismo 7 when it's as old as Gran Turismo 1.

    They promise new tracks and cars with upcoming updates, but content wise, I think it'll never hold up to Gran Turismo 2 (which is 23 years older than this game!).    … Expand

    This entire game is a scam. It should be free to play. It’s a rehash of GT Sport with more micro transactions and less content. The car list is from 2018. There’s a post on Reddit asking people to change their review scores on here. Really? They cut they payouts in half and now they are restoring them to what they originally were and we should thank them for it? Nitrous is $100k, but they claim to be matching real world pricing. Some cars are over $200 in real world money. The graphics are good, but the physics aren’t, especially on the dirt tracks. This game is currently at prerelease status. What’s the point of the license tests if there aren’t races for the upper tier licenses?

    I bet they will make this a “full game” after $200-$300 in dlc. Don’t buy it. Or at least wait a while for the ultimate version when it has as much content as the old versions of the game. Then buy it used. Also, don’t buy it if they require online access to play single player. That’s just a way for them to pull the plug on the game after they decide they want you to buy a new copy.

    Honestly the way this game was hyped i thought it would tick the boxes but nope im gutted to say that sport was actually better which is sad. We need to be able to party up and race with mates in sport mode. CAREER MODE IS A JOKE. CAR COLLECTION CAFE IS TRASH I WANTED A REAL CARRER WHERE YOU STart with an average car upgrade it into the next tier sell it buy a different car and so on.     Gran Turismo 7 has a lot of good and plenty of great. The use of DualSense and the particularly well-tuned loading is exemplary, and there's a huge amount of work behind the game, with a lot of detail that's almost hard to believe at times. [Issue#318]

    Gran Turismo 7 brings to the tracks every single thing fans always wanted: the GT Mode everyone loves, plenty of customization options, car loads, classic scenarios and one of the best DualSense and 3D Audio experiences the PS5 has to offer. This is the best Gran Turismo experience we have ever seen in a long time.

    Gran Turismo 7 is a love letter to motorsport history and an impeccable technical showcase. The franchise's traditional formula gets good improvements, but it's still extremely true to its roots. One of the best racing series ever shines spectacularly on the PS5.
