    This game has been a massive disappointment. No offline play worth a damn, yeh you got a time trial but you can’t do licenses, any campaign races, can’t even visit your damn garage!! The physics have been ruined compared to GT Sport. Snap oversteer is over exaggerated to the point that some cars are exceptionally difficult to drive. The R34 GT-R was about 61,000 credits in GT Sport and now it’s 450,000 credits in GT7…..piss off!! Ye the R34 has increased in value alot but there’s the real world and the gaming world. PD seriously needs to get their finger out and listen to the fans and fix this game before it’s to late.… Expand

    Nice job with false information about being able to sell cars.. no events to earn decent credits, barely no grid start races. But hey; at least we got sweet microtransactions and the best tuning parts gated behind random ticket roulette crap... what a Joke, thanks PD and thx Sony for allowing such BS!!!!

    I spent £50 thinking I would enjoy playing but was quickly disappointed. To earn money for the car I want I have to play for several hours or spend extra money on the game. I work and I do not have time to grind for money

    Great feeling game - but everything around it brings it down to make you feel disgruntled while playing. So I put Forza 5 back on last night so I could enjoy myself again. I am currently in line waiting to buy a Wi-Fi extender so I can play story mode at my girls house. I paid good money for this game and I have to be online to play it. Why?     Being a long time fan of the series I love the GT series. Not this one. Even bought a PS5 and new 4K tv to play this. I regret that decision. Gran Turismo 7 belongs in the garbage bin. Yet another game ruined by micro transactions. Highly disappointed. Save your money and buy WRC10 instead. Definitely more fun.

    I paid full price for this game, expecting to drive over the nordschleife with my favorite cars like the Lamborgini Diablo, Countach, Ferrari F40 and McLaren F1.

    But what an illusion is that. Almost 10 hours into the game I’ve not yet unlocked the nordschleife and only have like 300.000 credits. As someone who played GT3 & GT4 I know progress takes takes time but in GT7 it’s just    I paid full price for this game, expecting to drive over the nordschleife with my favorite cars like the Lamborgini Diablo, Countach, Ferrari F40 and McLaren F1.

I’m 34 and have full time job and a family, I don’t have the same spare time I had as a single teenager to spend just to get the credits to be able to buy the cars I want.

    The cars I would like to drive cost millions of credits and are only available after invites which expire. They seem as unreachable ingame as in real life.

    After the last update in which they even made it harder to earn credits ingame the developer made a statement that they want to reflect the real life value and rarity of these cars.

    Why? This is a game, a driving simulator, not a real life simulator. I play games to escape from real life and enjoy things I can’t or won’t do in real life.

    I don’t play any F2P games due the push towards monetisation and I refuse to buy any credits for real money in a game I’ve bought for €80,-.

    I’ve lost the appetite for this game in the state it is in and I’ve put it aside. I picked up Horizon Forbidden West again, hopefully GT7 will be fixed when I finish that. And if they don’t fix this it will be the last Gran Turismo I’ve played and I’ll wait with buying any next Sony game until it’s clear that they’re not ruined by the bad management which screwed up this game.    … Expand

    Less car than GTS, parts can't be Uninstall, no car selling but push you keep spending CR(and real money), price is 20 times expense than same car in GTS. GT7 just destory the name of GT. I will play another game once similar on market.

    This game is just a credit card simulator. You can't play offline, and, if the servers aren't down, you have to play about 17 hours to buy a nice car. Painfull game, don't waste money for this ****

    The way more annoying thing is that the freshly released update nerfed all the race price money so you have to buy cashcards in the psn store otherwise you wont be able to purchase high    DONT BUY THIS GAME!!!! Then boom, Poly pushes an update completely turning the in game currency on its head in favor of pushing users to pay more real world currency to advance.     Game and mechanics, good. Physics, good. Realistic? Hell yeah. Way of progressing and rewarding system to buy cars? Kinda bad. Also, nice touch from creator to show how big of a cųnt he is and I hope his hopes of getting money from microtransactions for vc will fall to ashes. He ruined the mood and a good game.

    I actually enjoy the racing, apart from everything being grid start. Micro transactions are forced upon you by not allowing you to accumulate wealth when following the menus as the game leads you to do.
    Furthermore, you can't even sell cars that you don't want. HELLO I want to race not collect cars like they are pokemon!!!

    Unfortunately, I was one of those that fell for the marketing hype and rave critic reviews surrounding this game which no doubt shrouded the stark reality of MTX driven game design. I've created an account on Metacritic just to warn other prospective gamers not to fall for the same trap as myself and many others - there are plenty of other racing sims    The real credit card simulator.

    Unfortunately, I was one of those that fell for the marketing hype and rave critic reviews surrounding this game which no doubt shrouded the stark reality of MTX driven game design. I've created an account on Metacritic just to warn other prospective gamers not to fall for the same trap as myself and many others - there are plenty of other racing sims more worthy of your hard-earned cash.

    To further add insult to injury, what is mostly a SP game cannot be played without an online connection, which is fine if Polyphony Digital were competent enough to keep their own servers up without 30 hour downtimes. This developer has clearly never heard of a "roll-back" plan, and was more concerned about the MTX it would be losing.

    To top of it all off, Kazunori's apology must surely contend as the most pathetic excuse for a developer's actions. Just as Kazunori's statement skirts around facts, this review will also glance over the good that the game had potential to offer.

    The only way to save face now is to pull a U-Turn and:
    - Allow SP to be played offline
    - Allow selling of cars (just like in the real world) - is this not a simulator?
    - Buff race rewards
    - Buff daily marathon rewards
    - Introduce daily challenges with increased rewards
    - If you insist on keeping MTX, bring credit to cost ratio in-line with predecessors
    - Justify why some cars are valued more than 3x the cost of the game itself?
    - Remove time limited legendary / invite only cars pressuring player base into MTX, particularly those that are vulnerable
    - Remove 20M credit cap on earned credits, given that single cars cost up to 20M. Interestingly, no cap on MTX credit

    Stop micro-transactions !! I've paid ¥8650 for this game and Polyphony cut the rewards credit and push players to pay another ¥12000 for "one" car !!!? That's ridiculous. How greedy are you, Polyphony? And you better keep GT7 server run forever because maybe I will play GT7 after several years if my PS5 is still working. This is not a free social game. We players paid full price for GT7.

While the underlying driving experience is excellent, the absolutely atrocious MTX practices and Kaz's continued delusion that the best way to honour legendary cars is by making them unobtainable in game without hours and hours of repetitive grind or paying for MTX isAs a life-long fan of the Gran Turismo series, it saddens me to witness the desecration of the storied franchise with GT7. While the underlying driving experience is excellent, the absolutely atrocious MTX practices and Kaz's continued delusion that the best way to honour legendary cars is by making them unobtainable in game without hours and hours of repetitive grind or paying for MTX is destroying the game and the series' reputation. For example, the McLaren F1 is available in the Legendary Dealer for only a few days, but costs 18.5m credits. This equates to about 21 hours of grind or paying $185US. Ridiculous. These are the worst MTX tactics I have ever seen. The game is also crippled by a bland, unfinished single player mode, baffling UI design choices and the always-online requirements. Online modes are almost unplayable with current server instability.

    It truly pains me to say as a huge GT series fan, GT7 is not worth playing.    … Expand

After playing a variety of titles such as sims like iRacing and arcade styler like F1 titles, I realized that I am more of a casual arcade racer even after spending $$$ in sim racing equipment. I have heard so much for the Gran Turismo series, so I decided to buy a PS5, GT7 pre-order, and a new Fanatec DD pro (since my more-than-satisfactory TM TC PCI've been doing sim racing for years. After playing a variety of titles such as sims like iRacing and arcade styler like F1 titles, I realized that I am more of a casual arcade racer even after spending $$$ in sim racing equipment. I have heard so much for the Gran Turismo series, so I decided to buy a PS5, GT7 pre-order, and a new Fanatec DD pro (since my more-than-satisfactory TM TC PC wheel wouldn't work on Playstation 5).

    If you want macro transactions to be included, don't charge $70 for the base price!!!!

    This switch and bait update made this game "Macro" transaction focused. I already spent $97 (after tax) for the founder edition. They cut race rewards, took away the ability to sell cars, and made legendary cars so expensive. Now if I want to earn credits, it will be more of a grind than iRacing unless I want to just fork out money over and over!

    Shame on me for trusting the Gran Turismo name, pre-ordering this game, and spending the money to go towards a more "casual" sim racing experience. Completely back fired!    … Expand

    I've been a fan of these games since I was a kid but I think this about does it for me. It all started off so well until we were hit with ridiculously inflated microtransactions. Not to mention that it's an online only game.... I can't get my $100 back but trust me I wont be spending any time doing weeks and weeks of excessive grinding with little reward.

    However, there other annoying issues: Much of the car selection is direct carry over from previous games and it’s missing key supercars cars like: 918 spyder, p1, speedtail, 720s, 765lt, plaid, lfa, senna, 812, gt2rs, 911 turbo s & more. Most sportscars and supercars are dated with few current gen ones so they can reuse assets from previous games shamelessly. Despite omitting key real cars, there’s a number of fake cars with ridiculous impossible specifications really degrading the institution of simulation it tries to achieve. Drag racing did not make a return despite what they said. You can no longer get 2 player replays from the race screen. The race your garage car does not allow you to select specific garage cars. Ray tracing is only available in replays. Water puddle animations are really low budget and disturbing which contrasts an otherwise stellar presentation notably.    … Expand

    Fan des Gran Tourismo depuis la première heure, j’ai vraiment envie de vomir sur cette version « service » qui pousse clairement à sortir sa carte bleu après avoir payé 80 euros. Pas de course Gr1 ni Gr2 à part en Arcade avec des sommes dérisoires à gagner. PlayStation studios sont tellement décevants dernièrement!

    I put the worst mark possible to blame Polyphony Digital regarding the last update.
    Increase car price and reduce the race pricing to push players to pay microtransaction, in addition after game tests is a shame.
    Stop to destroy this wonderful licence focusing only money.

    Think about the poor families that cannot afford an internet connection then finding out about the online issue.     I was so hyped for it and the gameplay doesnt dissapoint BUT the DRM (Digital Rights Management) is horrible, always online (which is bad), server outage for 30hrs so basically no access to the game and it gets even worse, i feel scammed and i dont have to explain everything, other people have made comparisons and layed down everthing on the table that is bad for everyone to see.

    The fact that you have to be connected to the servers to play single player is ridiculous. The "micro" transactions are absolutely unacceptable. It would literally cost over $180 to buy the McClaren F1. I get that the game is supposed to be a simulation, but we all know this is just greed.

    This franchise is something many people like me have grown up with & holds so many memories going right back to the playstation 1. Sad to see how the greedy developers have destroyed the franchise over night. My copy has been returned for a refund.

    I actually really enjoyed my first few hours in this game. Then the always online requirement reared its ugly head.

    I tried asking Sony Playstation for a refund, but their support working **** said I couldn't get one because I was mere hours past the 14 day refund period, which in itself is a dumb **** policy.

    The roulette wheel is so obviously a fix paying out always the smallest reward, night and day compared to gt sport roulette, micro transactions £15.99 for £2mil and most expensive car so far £20mil... so £160 for a car... I don't think so, race payouts have been reduced to a measly amount, timed invites to purchase cars are pushing u to micro transactions so u don't miss out. And these micro transactions were added straight after the game had been reviewed!!! So much hype and potential but this game ends up as being a bit of a scam really. Cafe campaign, there is a handful of missions to do and that’s it - the game comes to a complete halt. I was entirely through the campaign in just 4 days. They clearly cut content to drip-feed us later, not only was this proven but it also feels like that to the player. The graphical downgrades are a big letdown, especially since it didn’t improve performance at all (interestingly, performance actually seems to have worsened, on a PS5 mind you!).

    Let’s just adress the elephant in the room here; payout nerfs and extreme push towards mtx in this game have stooped to a lower level than I’ve ever come across before, and we’ve had quite a few disastrous game launches in recent years! The way GT7 is setup is an utter disgrace, and there will be a very long path to win back the faith of your loyal players. The ones responsible (I’m not sure who ultimately called these shots) should be absolutely ashamed. The fact there has been radio silence for so long on the matter is making things far worse still. Sony, PD, whoever is reading: this will NOT blow over - we will NOT back down. You will NOT get away with this and will absolutely pay for these mistakes dearly.    … Expand

    This could have been such a great game...they absolutely ruined it with micro transactions and the lack of payout. I can't justify paying the cost for cars or the hours spent grinding to get vehicles. This is on top of the DRM system that is total BS. You have ruined this franchise. You have lost a fan.

    Gran Turismo 7 has a lot of good and plenty of great. The use of DualSense and the particularly well-tuned loading is exemplary, and there's a huge amount of work behind the game, with a lot of detail that's almost hard to believe at times. [Issue#318]

    Gran Turismo 7 brings to the tracks every single thing fans always wanted: the GT Mode everyone loves, plenty of customization options, car loads, classic scenarios and one of the best DualSense and 3D Audio experiences the PS5 has to offer. This is the best Gran Turismo experience we have ever seen in a long time.

    Gran Turismo 7 is a love letter to motorsport history and an impeccable technical showcase. The franchise's traditional formula gets good improvements, but it's still extremely true to its roots. One of the best racing series ever shines spectacularly on the PS5.
