    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Spoiler alert! We got a raw deal. We were sold a game that did not include always online play for single player campaign. We were told that we could sell cars. We were shown the races and their payouts. We were told that over 400 vehicles were available upon launch.
    ALL LIES!
    After only two weeks of launch they have decided you have to be online, you cannot sell anything, the payouts for races are now halved, and cars are not available unless you want to spend the rest of your lives grinding for minuscule payouts or………… purchase credits with your real life money. To win a championship in “The real racing simulator” does not earn enough money to purchase………. Racing tires.

    I’m pretty sure that winning championships across all levels of auto racing affords you buying tires.
    Seems like the only thing real is the micro transactions.
    Nice way to repay your loyal fans since GT1. They can have their silly pay to win micro transactions so that the try hard crowd can pay to win but the only way to make this right is to do the following.
    1. Get rid of must be online to play single player.
    2. Restore the race payouts to what they were at launch.
    3. Allow players to sell useless duplicate cars.
    And as a bonus add endurance races, and world championships with realistic payouts. Not enough money to buy two tacos at Jack N the Box.

    It really pains me to leave this review as I am a lifelong Gran Turismo fan since the first entry, and it's my favourite video game series. Polyphony Digital have generally been a fantastic development house, which makes the decisions they've made in this entry all the more disturbing.

    The game itself is a solid 9/10, even with some content shortcomings, but I trust this will be addressed with further updates. However the game with the always online and frankly, spiteful "micro"transactions is a 0/10. I wish we would stop calling them microtransactions as they are far form micro in this case. The way in which Poloyphony Digital have designed this game to maximise revenue through microtransactions is disgusting. The fact that 2 weeks after launch, they made it their priority to reduce rewards is disgusting.

    If Polyphony Digital do a 180 and remove the always online component from the single player game, and reduce the games reliance on microtransactions (I don't mind some, just not to the extreme it's been implemented here) I will change my score. This isn't a free to play game, it's a full price title, we shouldn't have to pay for anything other than additional DLC.    … Expand

    A fantastic foundation ruined by Sony being a complete predator. Times are bad enough without Sony thinking it’s acceptable to charge people hundreds of pounds to drive cars that are available for free in other games.

    This game has gone completely downhill after the update. Big-time game critics reviewed the game prior to the update which means they were not allowed certain access to newer add-ons through the update for example the micro transaction area. This is an absolute slap in the face to us players and is being looked at as criminal activity. Do not buy this game.

    I feel like I've been ripped off. The microtransaction system to buy cars Is a robbery. I paid over 50 pounds for this game for my PS5. The cars are out dated and the decent ones will take you days of grinding to get the credits to buy them. if you want to buy one it could cost up to £ 40.00.     I'll give it a 2 because it's a very slick and fun to play racing game on the surface, and I've personally enjoyed taking a slower pace. I'm not particularly obsessed with pursuing any great goals other than completing my daily "workout", which is a hilarious thing to call it.
    However, it becomes apparent after your first dozen "roulette tickets" that, under the surface you are playing a    I'll give it a 2 because it's a very slick and fun to play racing game on the surface, and I've personally enjoyed taking a slower pace. I'm not particularly obsessed with pursuing any great goals other than completing my daily "workout", which is a hilarious thing to call it.
    However, it becomes apparent after your first dozen "roulette tickets" that, under the surface you are playing a gambling game, and the house and the economy are both stacked against you. After 30 or so roulette tickets, constantly getting the absolute lowest sum possible, you realize that these tickets are a slap in the face, they imply there's one in five spin happening, but really it's rolling a 100-sided die, and unless you roll a perfect 1, you ain't getting squat. Once you learn more about the game's economy, and the designers' plans to make this a game of the haves and the have nots where the cars of our dreams are reserved for the wealthy (whether rich in time to grind, or real-life money, he says he wants those cars to be as unattainable in the game as they are in the real world). Shame on this obvious cash grab. It's a two-star game as it is, until they seriously re-evaluate the game economy I don't recommend.

    I am returning this game. Forget about microtransactions on full price game! I am ok with DLC but these are not!! Cutting the winning credit in half to force you to but credit with real money. I ain't going to pay $40 for a 2014 Lamborghini Veneno. I don't want to win 400 races to get it either!!! Sony's greed killed this game

    Shell of a game. Short, boring and linear "campaign", terrible AI, multiplayer that's worse than GT Sport, online only. What is in the game is built around microtransactions.

    Realized I can't play the game offline. WTF, always been able to play Gran Turismo offline. Also selling credits?!? I mean come on if I wanted to pay premium price $80 for a game, and only realize by the way you need to pay more for other cars because it's not feasible to get them by just PLAYING THE GAME....

    Best racing game ever made, tops most pc sims. Real time weather, tracks are top notch, detail is amazing. A must have for any race fan or car lover.

    Polyphony have really dropped the ball with this one. Was good at launch but after some recent patches it has made the game way more of a grind to try and get you to buy the micro transactions. Plus the always online even if you only play the single player is a joke. I have went back to playing Forza 7 and Forza Horizon 5.

    One of the best car games that have come out. The Physics have changed a lot and in this aspect it is a more refined game. Things like temperature affecting the entire behavior of the car, I'm talking about braking, performance, grip. It gives it a touch that its direct competitor hasn't and I don't think it will. While the cars everyone is wanting in irl money worth 400 dollars plus is ridiculous. Its all nerf this nerf that. Grinding to much we will nerf that too. This game is a cash grab.     Lo que han introducido en este juego ya no son micro pagos, son MACRO pagos. Los coches están muy cuidados pero los ambientes en los circuitos parecen de PS3. Sumado al tiempo offline que han estado los servidores y que no han permitido jugar al modo carrera (offline) es la gota que ha colmado el vaso.

Missions and licensing are harder than they used to be. On 15 th mission or so impossible to get gold. Sport mode locks up a lot. Zero offline play available.     de entrada, te dejan tunuear como quieras los carros, las modificaciones, los modelos y de mas aspectos del juego, los entornos, el modo repeticion, las carreras para conseguir las colecciones de exelentes autos y demas cosas bastantes buenas que tiene. Hay que admitir que lo malo radica en el hecho de tener que estar conectado a internet aunque sea en el modo de un solo jugador, estode entrada, te dejan tunuear como quieras los carros, las modificaciones, los modelos y de mas aspectos del juego, los entornos, el modo repeticion, las carreras para conseguir las colecciones de exelentes autos y demas cosas bastantes buenas que tiene. Hay que admitir que lo malo radica en el hecho de tener que estar conectado a internet aunque sea en el modo de un solo jugador, esto practicamente es a fuerza, algunos autos son muy caros y parece que nada mas estan para que uno gaste mas dinero por estos con las microtransacciones, las cuales, son carisimas y practicamente no son justas, y eso que el juego ya cuesta mas de los 81 dolares(al menos en México no se en otros paises pero me imagino que hay lugares donde sea mas caro)
    Espero legitimamente, no ironicamente; que los de polyphony digital cambien estos aspectos en futuras actualizaciones ya que asi podrian mejorar un juego, lo cual me parece necesario de inmediato, si se puede mañana seria exelente :) ya que Gran Turismo 7 y Gran Turismo en general se han vuelto de mis sagas favoritas y me parece muy triste en lo que se ha vuelto el juego. REPEAT IT IS NOT F2P! where it takes hundreds of hours of play to pick up a handful of special cars, but are we kidding? not to mention the bad optimization, scandalous, they even had to make a graphical downgrade on PS5 of the effects during the gameplay (excluding replays and menus) because according to them give problems, no you put so just to have better reviews clowns, they were no problem.

    I asked for a refund and they accepted it, I’m glad I’m not playing this **** game anymore. It will be my last GT after playing all the others.    … Expand

    I will say the graphics are great and the driving experience is fun but the pure philosophy is so bad that I can't recommend this to anyone. I wish I would have waited for user reviews. The need to be connected to the network to play in solo mode is absurd. The need for microtransactions is also absurd. It is financially prohibitive to play this game. I spent $90 for the deluxe versionI will say the graphics are great and the driving experience is fun but the pure philosophy is so bad that I can't recommend this to anyone.     I have been playing over 30 hrs and only collected 3mil cred. barely enough to buy few cars and upgrade. When each race only pays out 20-30k, 50-70k on the    I dont care about cannot buy the most expensive car, or terrible rolling starts or roulette that only gives out the lowest award 99% of the time.
    Most cars are 500k or lower but costs to upgrade will add up significantly.

    One of the daily race was to race with 60s hatchbacks, and while everyone was driving the Mini, I've decided to ramp up the 500 and spend 90k upgrading. oh boy how I was wrong, it's **** and slow as well and Minis just beat me. Was it worth it, def not, but that's the part of the fun. HOWEVER, to gain back 90k I had to go other races like 4-5 times.

    The game does not give you room for wasting credits, as in make some stupid upgrade decision,s buy some ****ty old car and bring to race etc. You follow the pack and grind more or you have to grind again AI ****ty drivers that literally rams you and throws you off course. (yeah this is the WORST AI drivers I've ever seen)

    and always online is ok, but multi-players should be open, gosh the network check is stupidly slow and aggressive. (takes over few min to give up the check and finally let me in to the game when the back end was down) bloody hell, when login/check times out (in 30sec or so) just move on, why wait on the screen for longer? who designed this network client?

    Just too many flaws (not because of MTX) but systematically. 2/10 game for me.    … Expand

The people complaining about the money grind must not remember the days of Gran Turismo and Gran Turismo 2. This game was not meant to give you all the cars in a month if you want an expensive car you need to race for it. Only reason I have it a 9 is because I would like to seeThis game is so beautiful to look at and play. I love seeing all the cars and seeing how realistic everything is. The people complaining about the money grind must not remember the days of Gran Turismo and Gran Turismo 2. This game was not meant to give you all the cars in a month if you want an expensive car you need to race for it. Only reason I have it a 9 is because I would like to see more race events and a way to add AI in private friend lobbies so it's not just you and friends.     Go play any other GT game instead. You probably already know what's wrong with this one. I've already gone back to GT4 and GT6.

The career mode that was hyped so much is full of chase the leader races, this is simply outdated in today’s world. I don’t want to start 30 seconds behind 1st place and pass everyone like they’re standing still. And the career mode is small. I finished it in a week. There are less events than GT Sport. The always online requirement worsens the experience further. For over a day, we could not access the game at all due to trashy update by PD. The physics aren’t good either, the cars have a laughable amount of oversteer while not being a simulator at all. If you want a true sim, get ACC or something. The rally physics are absolutely TERRIBLE. It’s like a mobile game the way it handles. There is not much more new content than GT Sport. This game was marketed really well and tricked myself and thousands of others into spending 70 dollars for it. Never again I am buying a GT game. Kaz doesn’t care. PD don’t care. All they want is more money. Don’t let yourself get tricked into buying this game.… Expand

    I bought an Xbox as my first new console for the first time this generation. I’ve returned to my PS4 for Gran Turismo 7 and I’m so disappointed. The value of Gamepass has made spending £60 on a game almost unbelievably extravagant and only my love for previous games (not Sport) convinced me it was worthwhile. I even like the way it still feels very similar to all the old GT games despite the talk of new super realistic tyres modelling etc. Being online only is an absolute disaster. I regularly finish a race only for it to say I’m offline (no issues with my Xbox on exactly the same network) and ignore any progress, what I’d really like is the return of the epic several hour long GT races but you could never do that with this system, it’s far too unreliable. So online only has to go for single player (I should have learnt after sport) The second thing is the sheer greed, I spent a lot of time with Forza Horizon 5 and while it does give things away far too easily that is much better than the (micro?) transactions Sony expect you to buy. There is so far very little value for money, it offers not much more than Sport for much more money then tries to pry more out of you to buy cars that were in the game at least a decade ago for much less. I think if Forza Motorsport is good that’ll be me done with Playstation, the reasons for buying a PS5 are pretty much 0 for me at the moment. They need to sort this quick but they don’t seem to realise it.… Expand

    Its very bad from Sony/polyhony that after Patch 1.07 unpossible to get a special car ( concept cars) like an Aston Martin, Lamborghini & Co without pay ingame option or less more than 100 hours to Waste for one concept car, which 3000000 credits or sometimes oder 10000000 credits cost. No way, a special thanks for Sony and polyhony for nothing, i wished now, i hadn't buy this game!

    I played every gen of GT, this is getting boring, always licensing licensing, over gen again and again. This time the cafe thing is so time consuming. Nothing new, not even many new cars, eg Tesla model s is still old gen!

    Ray tracing sux, just showing off, not realistic at all.

Feels like the included cars are just recycled from older titles. And why can’t you sell cars?! That’s just poor. All to earn money from the players. Shoddy.

GT series is suppose to be a game where we learn how to race and be able to drive cars that we will never be able to do so in real life. Now PD goes ahead and makes cars hard toFudge GT7!     Meeting place on select maps was a cool idea in theory, but executed so poorly. Allow us to get out of the cars and walk around and admire our machines, like a virtual car & coffee meet. 1/10

    And I haven't even mentioned the credits (or lack thereof) nerf and MACRO-transactions, in-game economy and heavy handed push for pay to win, 0/10    … Expand

There are plenty of other good games out there, and Forza is finally going to be an option for me. RIP GT

Why in the tuning shop can't I view my cars stats so I an make judgements on equipment I want to buy, but instead you have to back out of the store, to go to your garage, look at your stats, then exit the garage, then go back into the store to buy the item, to then have to exit the store, enter a race for time trial, to test and tune. You see how much time is spent just clicking clicking clinking in and out of menus, instead of doing everything directly from with in the shop? You should also be able to be in a race, and from the tuning menu, be able to buy directly from there, so you don't have to back all the way out to go to the store. Why can't you view the weather prior to entering the race? Instead of entering the race just to find out, oh I have to back out and buy tires bc its raining. There is a ton of this clicking around menus which gets tiresome/time consuming. The campaign was way too easy to the point where I thought I was in a tutorial the entire time, then all of a sudden it was over and all I did for every race was just buy racing breaks and racing soft tires. I basically just accidentally ran through it not even realizing that I was actually playing the campaign not a tutorial and this is a dude who hasn't played GT since gt1 and 2. I'm tired of typing now but the nail in the coffin for me, for a $70 game, is the fact that the game becomes unplayable if you cannot connect to the servers. You can't even get into your garage. I don't even play multiplayer, and you lock me out of my $70 stand alone racing game. I'm not going to beat the dead horse about the in game economy since thats very obvious. Also this annoyed me so much that for the first time ever I'm on metacritic writing a review.… Expand

    You have ruined my childhood with corporate greed and microtransactions. This was the only game in years i was REALLY looking forward to but i won't EVER buy it. I'll hit where it hurts. The wallet. STOP ONLINE DRM and mobile game design for a game you have to pay atleast 70€ .I'll stick with gran turismo 5.

    GT7 pay to win games!!! Sorry to put such a critical review for this game. But frankly the in-game payment model is outrageous for a paid game. I'm not even talking about the mode, all online, which for a single player game has no use. Clearly wanted reality outpaces fiction. If you are rich in real life, you will be rich on Gran Turismo 7.

    Gran Turismo 7 has a lot of good and plenty of great. The use of DualSense and the particularly well-tuned loading is exemplary, and there's a huge amount of work behind the game, with a lot of detail that's almost hard to believe at times. [Issue#318]

    Gran Turismo 7 brings to the tracks every single thing fans always wanted: the GT Mode everyone loves, plenty of customization options, car loads, classic scenarios and one of the best DualSense and 3D Audio experiences the PS5 has to offer.
