    I live in a area where the internet goes out a lot and its super slow, there are times where my internet was down so I could not eve play the game offline, I hate everything about this game. As a long-time GT fan, since playing with my Dad back on the Playstation 1, I am shocked at the blatant microtransaction scheme, anemic "career" mode, poor off-road rally physics, lack of standard grid starts in favor of rolling starts in single-player races, and the multitude of design decisions clearly made to extract the most money from your dedicated fans. No you can't just give your players 1 million credits to appease fans without significant changes. Online DRM requirement for single-player career is inexcusable. I regret my digital purchase and wish I had the disc to sell. Can't believe I bought a special GT Fanatec wheel for this. The worst part is that there is clearly a lot of love and effort brought to the cars and the racing overall is fantastic. What a shame.… Expand

    For a game that's $125 is australia I would expect all the content to be unlocked, except it's isn't and now they want me to pay for cars, new tracks and spend hundreds of hours grinding for a car

    Your can't even play single player without internet connection, and every race is a trolling start. What a water of a game. Cyberpunk was better than this!

    Bought this game to drive the Civic Type R FK8. Got it with ingame money, no real money required. The rest of the game is great, will happily play this for the coming years.

This especially dumb when you realize that you cant connect to the online service (due to poorly optimized and broken backend). Then you discover the game is entirely framed around Micro Transactions combined with a **** in game economy, and... LOOTA quality product absolutely ruined by predatory greed.     Le jeu est beau, le jeu en solo est bien mais le mode sport et a chié !! On prend des pénalités pour rien! Laisser un joueur afk sur une zone du circuit et vous avez un drapeau jaune sur tout les tours , Merci de le viré de la session ou si il est fantôme de ne plus considéré la zone comme en jaune !! Se faire rentré dedans et se prendre des pénalités pour rien sur tout les circuits !

    started playing since GT1, this has done it... i've spent hours in a race only to find out i lost all the progress because after finishing the championship i lost connectivity... yay!
    I should of read the reviews before spending the money however i'll just dump the game and cut the loses...

    Dropping one point for the fact that it's always online and another for the live service nonsense, but otherwise the game is absolutely perfect. Easily one of the best GTs. Although I'm bummed about the transition to the live service model, I'm sure Polyphony will continue to improve the game by adding much needed features like selling cars, higher payout events, etc.

    It’s a crying shame that the micro transactions are absolutely killing a game that I had been excited and waiting to play since it’s announcement. I absolutely loved GT Sport. I have been playing Grid Legends a lot more though I know it’s not a true sim. I find it a lot more fun. Sorry but you have hung yourself from your own rope due to greed.

Sony and Polyphony digital have completely ruined this experience for me, I purchased a PS5 mainly when this game was announced. Now, I am not sure if I should have stuck with my PC and not deal with the headaches that haveFail, epic fail. I am at a complete lost here, GT7 bares little to no resemblance of the racing/sim video game series that I fell in love with all those years ago. Sony and Polyphony digital have completely ruined this experience for me, I purchased a PS5 mainly when this game was announced.     Always online BS. Can’t even play offline during maintenance. Server went down for 12 hours but I can’t even play campaign mode. Spent $100 plus tax on this. No games should be forcing online only. Just go play Forza. Capping earned credits is also WILD. You're not getting any more of my money!

    I really wanted to love this game but the microtransactions are ruining it and the spin rewards really suck. Forza Horizon 5 was way better use of my cash by far!

    I’m pretty sure this game gave me herpes. I was sitting there, minding my business and once all the micro transactions loaded. There was an intense burning in my nether regions. Went to the Dr’s and was Herpes brought on by malicious and insidious nickel and diming for content that should of been free

    Sony has made the flagship race simulator franchise into an online-only, microtransaction-filled abomination.

    They said: "how can we maximize profits with this game?" And it reeks of corporate design. Say 'NO' to games that require an online connection. Say 'NO' to games that try to milk you with microtransactions, in-game "currency", etc. Pure shameless cash grab.

    After the recent debacle I returned the game for a full refund.
    I will only re-purchase if the "on-line only" stipulation is removed, which in my opinion will NEVER happen.
    Looks like I’ll have to buy an Xbox to enjoy the only other AAA racing game.

    Don't listen to those who complain because clearly they lack the patience and appreciation to this game, the little details that the Devs paid attention to are amazing and it's a great racing sim. I love how hard it is to earn your dream car and how much effort you have to put in order get the money.

    DON'T buy this game. Imagine a full price console game with more agressive microtransactions than most free mobile games. And mandatory updates which can just halve the price money you receive from events. Mandatory because this is an online-only singleplayer game which you can't play without updating to the latest version. Or at all if there is a 32 (!) hour server maintenance lockingDON'T buy this game. Imagine a full price console game with more agressive microtransactions than most free mobile games. Or at all if there is a 32 (!) hour server maintenance locking everyone from playing most singleplayer content. As compensation, players received 1 million credits which equals 1/18 of a McLaren F1. Does this mean we have to experience 17 more server maintenances of this caliber to just afford this one car? Sony's answer would probably be: "You can just spend a couple of hundred dollars to instantly receive the McLaren! No waiting involved in that!" Yes, we're talking hundreds of actual dollars for a single car.
    And if that isn't bad enough, the ingame physics are weird as well. All cars with rear-wheel drive are literal death machines unless you purchase the best tires which by the way are more expensive than some new cars in this game. You expect a 200 HP car to not spin out in 4th gear at 50 mph and half-throttle? You expect a modern Ferrari to be able to turn in about 0.5 degrees at 130 mph without starting to slide and just rotate? You also expect being able to correct situations in which any of this occurs with correct countersteering inputs? Then Polyphony disappoints you in all 3 points. GT7 leaves you more afraid of driving a 300 HP rear-wheel drive car with racing tires than a 900 HP AWD car on sports tires most of the time. So maybe you want to race something else to calm down from your stressful RWD experiences on the racetracks. Like Rally.
    But then you realize that after every single jump (of which there are many on most rally tracks) your car will have an absolutely random and unphysical reaction to hitting the ground. Total loss of control guaranteed in most cases, I hope you like rotating 180° for no reason. The AI does not struggle with this of course.
    Speaking of driving against the AI: In all (!) single player races you'll start the race rolling in last place with all cars spaced out with huge distances between them. Resulting in the 1. place being 30 to 40 seconds ahead of you when starting the race. That's right, if in a 5 lap race you are not consistently EIGHT SECONDS faster per lap than the 1st place drivers, you can't get a win. So the only viable option becomes driving cars which overpower all opponents, turning the race into a time trial with moving obstacles. No actual racing against others involved.
    To repeat my first statement: Don't buy Gran Turismo 7. 95% of the content (cars and tracks) is recycled from GT Sport anyways. Whenever a new Need For Speed or Forza comes out I'm excited to have a look at the car list to see brand new sports cars, facelifted versions and recently released special editions of cars. Try to find any car in GT7 which is newer than 2017, that's a pretty hard task. Does a 2012 Tesla Model S sound exciting enough for you? At least it's more exciting than the visual novel like presentation of the main "campaign" (if you can call it that). Nothing is voiced, just static never-changing images of people with dialogue boxes. Blatant lazyness strikes again and again.    … Expand

    The game is brilliant, albeit a bit short (Cafe is over in under 30, even 25 hours easily). Graphics, sounds, music, physics, controls, all are excellent or at least, very good. That's it for the positives.

    - Always online even for the single-player is unwanted, unwarranted and plain frustrating. You can't play the game if the servers are down, and what happens at end-of-life ? You're left with a useless box. I get the "online" thing when it comes to multiplayer, online races etc, but this strategy is meaningless for single-player and it became painfully obvious just days after release.
    - Grinding is a part of GT, always was, BUT it had some purpose and clear net "profits" until GTS. After 1.07/1.08 update especially, it's just plain useless, I can't grind for 330 races and 20 hours !!!! to buy a SINGLE legendary car
    - Microtransactions (Sony and PD playing it loose with "micro") should NOT EVEN EXIST in a full-priced AAA game. I won't even go into the whole "store was hidden from reviewers in order to get favorable reviews", which is plain straight scam.
    - To add insult to injury, Kaz said that "he wished players could enjoy the full game even, EVEN, EVEN without microtransactions". THAT'S WHY WE BOUGHT IT AT FULL PRICE!!!
    - I won't go into the pricing of the cars and the microtransactions (MICRO !!!! at 20euros), because they are highway robbery at best, because again, they shouldn't EVEN EXIST in a full-priced AAA game.

    Anyway, since I finished Cafe, Licences and Missions, since I don't have the time, nor want to grind and I obviously won't pay a single euro in their microtransactions, there is nothing else to do in this game, so I'm putting it away and waiting to see how Sony and PD update GT7 in the future    … Expand

    Always online DRM and extremely grindy progression. Have not seen a game like this that really does not respect your time as a player.

    Not worth your money unless you are the biggest driving fan and can get this game on extreme sale.

Yea, the drive is great, graphics and sound can’t complain, but you need to keep doing the same thing in order to save credits buying a car is ridiculous. Remember, the developer suspended the server for a day and made the changes to reduce in-game rewards significantly writing off the whole gamingRegret purchase.     absolutely shocking game you'll have more chance of getting a McLaren F1 in real life then in-game, that is unless you're willing to grind the same boring race for 90hrs or pay £200 in microtransactions.

    However, two major issues bring the score way down. Always online, I actually wasn't worried about this as I always have internet. However, a basic patch ended up bringing the game offline for over a day. This is not an mmo, the always online is mainly to save your progress. And the bigger issue, the cost of vehicles vs the amount you earn. It was already at a point where you would probably only experience 15% of the vehicles without grinding. Then with the latest patch they greatly reduced the earnings of many races that we could previously grind. Now it is nigh on impossible to unlock anymore high end vehicles unless you pay for DLC.

    If you go in knowing you only will have access to about 15% of the car lineup after completing most of the SP content, then go for it, still a good game. However, if this is not okay(and you don't like always online), vote with your wallet.    … Expand

    Most payouts have been cut to make people buy credits instead. Would not recommend until they revert this decision and add more content and missing features/options.

    Another Amazing addition to the franchise, stunning graphics for a console, very good physics that the Gran Turismo franchise is known for, sure it doesn't have the absurd amount of cars right out of the game like some other racing games, but Polyphony Digital takes their time to ensure the vehicles are as true to life as humanly possible, and it shows, and they managed to turn out anAnother Amazing addition to the franchise, stunning graphics for a console, very good physics that the Gran Turismo franchise is known for, sure it doesn't have the absurd amount of cars right out of the game like some other racing games, but Polyphony Digital takes their time to ensure the vehicles are as true to life as humanly possible, and it shows, and they managed to turn out an impressive 424 cars which isn't terrible by any means, with cars and tracks coming in hot each month, its surly going to continue to be another great title in the long history of the Gran Turismo franchise.… Expand

    Gran Turismo 7 has a lot of good and plenty of great. The use of DualSense and the particularly well-tuned loading is exemplary, and there's a huge amount of work behind the game, with a lot of detail that's almost hard to believe at times. [Issue#318]

This is the best Gran Turismo experience we have ever seen in a long time.

    Gran Turismo 7 is a love letter to motorsport history and an impeccable technical showcase. The franchise's traditional formula gets good improvements, but it's still extremely true to its roots. One of the best racing series ever shines spectacularly on the PS5.
