    Since update 1.08 there has been a move towards a smartphone free-to-play game, making it impossible for normal working people to earn vehicles. just naughty and disappointing don't get the game. Please do not support this system.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. After the Hilarious Called Maintainance update and Extending Failed Updates they eventually make out the economy system of GT from enjoyable become A grinding **** credits. they intent to force you to buy credits instead.

    Update 1.09 so they give us 1 Million credits and promising us players for future updates.

    Encore une preuve que le jeux et basé sur l'argent , ont n'en parle des tiquets de roulette , j'ai fini le mode café , j'ai gagné que voiture 1 tesla et le tiquet de fin 500.000cr , le reste que des 2.000 ou des vilebrequin et qu'elle que 10.000cr .

    Ensuite les voitures qui sont impossible a vendre , alors que quand ont veux une voiture qui nous plait ont l'achète au magasin d'occasion et puis si ont la gagne par la suite ont peut pas la vendre .

    Bref les Microtransaction ont ruiné le jeux , j'ai mis le jeux de coté , je reviendrais quand une mise a jour correct sera en place .

    The 1.11 update fixed all of the complaints in this game. Finally, i can drive cars in peace.

    But for me even before that it was greatest racing game ever created. The attention to detail on cars is just breathtaking. No other game offered such a details and love towards cars and car culture! I am really shocked.... Every car sounds good, some worse some better but in general, sounds are great in this game. Sounds of turbo, superchargers.    They fixed game economy in update 1.11.

Sounds of turbo, superchargers. exhaust pops, antilag, wind, transmission.... Just wow... Also every aftermarket exhaust and collectors change the sound note of your car.. Things like rear wheel steering in for ex.GT3 RS are there and they work.
    Every nut and bold, also the chassis, is modeled to the maximum level of detail currently available on consoles. They also went so deep and recreated realistic car paints with corresponding names.
    Another amazing thing is that cars spit fire from exhaust in a very realistic way (It was never done before!)
    Tracks are also really good with some exceptions. But details of tracks and whole lighting/weather is just new quality.

    Of course this game has some flaws, but. to me this attention to detail, today, in this world full of mediocrity, is just simply unheard of . That's why it deserves a 10.

    There was a time that I liked also Forza games ( till Motorsport 4) until they became " fortnite like " games for kids or just for people without any passion towards cars In new forza titles you are constantly bombarded with prizes and free cars, you get money for nothing, and you start with supercars, so you loose all the feeling of progression from very beginning of game. On some cars IN FORZA they just copy and paste sounds from car to car, whereas on GT7 they treat every car individually. Also in a lot of cars in forza they JUST DON'T CARE ABOUT CAR DESIGN, what I mean by that: take Mercedes AMG GT. In forza they just copy front rims and paste them as rear rims. And in reality Front and rear rims on this car have different depth and geometry. Because of things like that, they show they don't care. All they want is to fill your mouth with low quality car models, no details, illusion of good graphics and constant prizes and money for pressing one button ... Forza kind of simulates socialism xD You get money for breathing.

    That's why Gran Turismo 7 and PD in general is so precious and so good. Because they show THEY CARE about car culture, car design, and car enthusiast. I don't care about microtransactions. If you are stupid you will end up buying digital cars in a game. That's it.

    Sony/PD have made things right by increasing payouts. The racing is good. Roulette tickets are horrible but I'm very content with 1.11 update

    If you want some average car you need to invest 60-70 euros. If you want legendary ones, you need 200+.
    If you want you can also grind, by spending 20+ hours daily. Paying 200+ euros for acar in a game you already paid 70 eutos is a shameless tactics, and this franchise is officialy dead with this.    This game is pure scam. On release they hidden microtransactions, so they get good reviews.

    I'm going to alter my review, because of the changes in 1.11. The economy part of this game has certainly been fixed. You can now actually collect the cars. I will leave the original review for history though. I originally rated a 2 because of the glaring problems, and pushing of microtransactions.

    The downtime doesn't help matters, which at the current time of writing is over 24 hours though there may be extenuating circumstances for this, there has been almost no communication on why everything is dead now, it has bought up a glaring issue, if Polyphony Digital has server issues this extensive, it probably means all their servers are in one place.

    Secondarily, and more importantly, they have created a car collecting game, but it is very difficult to get actual credits in the game to buy the cars. They nerfed the one semi decent way to get some. Don't worry, you can just buy them on the PS store... assuming you want to spend a couple of grand to collect all the cars

    Even the roulette, which itself is just a lootbox, nearly always gives you the most pitiful reward on offer, of which often one of those is a time limited invitation to spend 1-5 million credits, which won't be helped by the roulette giving you 5000/10000 credits about 90% of the time. Used cars in the game have prices through the stratosphere. You cannot sell cars you own, and you do occasionally get duplicates also, so you cannot even recycle credits that way.

    The menu books also run out very early, and you don't need any license over A, so it feels like the game is massively unfinished.

    The mechanics and racing is actually really fun though, even though the AI are as dumb as a bag of hammers on a special bus, but as it stands I can't actually play the single player because apparently since after GT Sport they decided it would make sense to completely make the single player unavailable offline.

    It's a really fun game, when it works, and you're not actually invested in collecting the cars, but they are losing so many points for this £70 game and nickle and diming the players for credits so we want to spend on microtransactions.    … Expand

    estaba esperando a la update 1.11 para ser mas justo con grtan turismo... para mi sopresa y despues de revisar bien las nuevas recompensas se sigue necesitando casi el doble de tiempo para hacer los mismo creditos que en las versiones anteriores a la 1.07... y mientras tanto coches a 20 millones

    The 1.11 update has just rolled out, and most of my major issues with the game seem to have been listened to. The increase credit payouts are appreciated.

    Update with patch 1.11 : The game is great they increase CR for racing and activities so no need to pay. Just play and you can buy anything you want.

    Patch 1.07 (1/10):
    This game need to be rename "Micro Transaction 7".

    They don't want you to farm they just want you buy more. pay more!

Gameplay is great and so are the graphics. In spit of all of this, I keep playing it daily as it is at the end of the day a great game. Missing F1 races. Missing endurance races. Missing race management mode. Unable to sell won cars, so you are left with a bloated and unwanted collection. You have to press X to many times upon completion to exit a a race. You can't navigate to tuning/garage/race quickly.

    EDIT: moved vote from 8 to 2 and now to 0, I'm feeling mocked by the official statement release after patch 1.08, the way the took is absolutely wrong and adverse the playrrbase.

    The graphics, gameplay, and intricate details surrounding cars and racing are amazing. Plenty of realism, plenty of different things to do that approach almost any style of play from the hardcore racer to the car enthusiast that just likes to take pictures.

    After 1.11 update they fixed the game economy and the mtx became useless. Although this should have been the case from the start but at least they heard the players. The only issue now is the ALWAYS ONLINE.

    After first patch 1.0.6 One week after release i cant resume my caffee missions becase the game always crashing when i finish a race ...

    After patch 1.0.7 Two weeks after release the servers are down days and can still not play the game.

    Also really pay to win or massive grinding game

    EDIT: now with 1.11 Patch all my problems are fixed and can enjoy the game
    Rewards are much higher now

    The game ist just perfect. Graphics are incredible, its a lot of fun and everything is just on point. The new update just dropped and they fixed EVERYTHING and people are getting up to 50+ mio Credits because of the Tracks they did before the update. The rewards are now fantastic. BUY IT, PLAY IT, ENJOY IT!! Greetingz

Te deja en espera al momento de comenzar una carrera y si tienes suerte después de unos 15 minutos puede iniciar sino debes salir y esperar a la próxima carrera (que por lo general son 1 vez cada una hora en caso de una partida competitiva).     Graphics are good. Force feedback is shoddy. Cafe mode ends easily. No desire to collect cars. EXA Canopy is not included. The intention of making the player connect online all the time is unclear. If you bought an expensive steering wheel controller for GT7, enjoy Asset Corsa Competizione and Dirt Rally 2.0. Kazunori Yamauchi should be Yubitsume.

    The game's quality is top notch, options are plenty. It still has the early release vibe in some multiplayer aspects.

    The monetization is not as bad as they yell, there are only a handful cars that cost 10-20 million. The rest are 450k to 1mil and you finish career mode with tons of cars in almost all brackets and a few millions in your pocket.

    So in the end the game will quickly feel empty, over. And with the insane grind needed to obtain rarer cars, I just don't find an incentive to keep playin it. For now. Worth to note that these multi-million cars can't even compete in the world map base events, since Polyphony Digital is yet to add races for Classics, Group 1 cars, etc...

    All in all, I feel like it's a game with a good potential, a solid base gameplay, but dramatically lacking in content, to the point that I'm just expecting the developers to genuinely finish it to make it a playable, and lovable "car culture" game like it's supposed to be, not a cash grab.    … Expand

I haven't been forced to repeat any races to earn more credits or pay for any extra credits - I was expecting more of a grind to reflect a real life driving career. The licence challenges areOutsourcing graphics, plus a refreshingly challenging single player game. Physics are closer to real racing than before, especially when combined with a wheel and pedals, a step up from GT Sport! I haven't been forced to repeat any races to earn more credits or pay for any extra credits - I was expecting more of a grind to reflect a real life driving career. The licence challenges are very balanced, some are simple or tricky, and others are really tough to achieve a gold score. I've not stopped playing this since it came out, love it!… Expand

This game has a very poor and small selection of cars overall. The car list seems smaller than GT4 way back on PS3. It’s ridiculous. This game doesn’t take very long to complete all your goals, so once you do, this is all your left with.     Great game, just needs VR support and more (newer) cars and online drift leaderboards. Long time Gran Turismo fan here, and was not disappointed. Yes it is a bit of a grind fpr credits BUT this is offset by the fact that you a grind for credits but I think this is offset by the fact that you win cars top easily. Look forward to future updates of what is already a great game.

Finally, the FFB is very underwhelming - on the official Fanatec DD Pro - it's weaker than GTS and still has zero road texture details, every other racer does a better job here. Overall I've never felt this strongly or disappointed about a game before - enough to sign up to Metacritic and give it a zero.… Expand

    It takes a whole live to get some credits to buy a decent car to race on Gr4 or Gr3, or of course, pay for them in real money, very greedy indeed. I think I'll quit playing, I have no time enough to finish it, wasted money in my opinion. Very disappointed.

Furthermore, the offline mode is non-existent, even though you bought the game, really you own nothing without an internet connection. Sadly, I feel the damage is done now, this is the last GT I ever buy

    I will start with the biggest issue, and the most common complaint. This game is designed with microtransactions in mind. They did not add these microtransactions as an after thought, or as a way to make it easier to obtain other vehicles, they designed the entire economy around them. The reward payout is a bit lack luster. The fact that they don't let you buy the cars directly, but only sell credits (and the cost is insane if you want the higher priced cars) really shows their true intention. But the biggest drawback, is selling your unused cars. This was one of they most common ways to earn credits in most other GT games. However, you cannot earn credits by selling in this iteration. Why did they remove this? Simple, to push users towards buying those credit packs.
    Side note: Polyphony even took the servers offline and cut the rewards drastically shortly after launch. They got flamed hard for that. They have since given most players 1m credits, but that doesn't go far when getting higher end cars.

    Soundtrack. I have always enjoyed the soundtracks from previous iterations of GT. GT7 however, didn't even have the soundtrack as an after-thought. Yes, we can play apps like Spotify in the background, however I would have enjoyed it much more if they were to have at least put some good songs to listen to in the game. Using a music app in the background really doesn't feel the same to me.

    The visuals are great, for the most part. Again, it seems like Polyphony decided to half-ass some of the special effects. Mainly, the rain. Playing in 3rd person perspective, i wouldn't really be able to tell it was raining had it not been for the wet tracks and sound effects. It doesn't look like it is raining at all. The raindrop effects on the windshield were also half-assed. They do realistically move as you drive, and the wiper effects are dismal. Driving through puddles, the water splashes are absolutely pathetic. I have seen better splash effects on the PS2. Polyphony really did not put any effort into the water effects visually.

    How to fix this and make this the absolute driving simulator we all know it should be?
    1. Fix the economy. Let us sell these vehicles to earn more credits. The microtransactions should not feel forced. I personally would have no problem buying them here and there, to show support, however you built the in-game economy around these transactions.

    2.Work on the weather effects. Polyphony has never really been one to cut any corners, however you have cut several corners here, and games from previous generations really put GT7, even on PS5, to shame in the rain department.

    3.Some licensed music would be great. This is the least critical area in my eyes (and ears), however is something that should be given some attention.

    GT7 was marketed as "The return to our roots" release. The true driving simulator. Well, part of driving is buying the cars, customizing cars, driving cars, and selling cars. You have taken that last part of a driving simulator away from is in order to pursue greedy intentions (microtransactions). These three areas I think would really make Gran Turismo 7 the king once again. At least fixing the economy and rain effects.    … Expand

Pushing MTX, game has no content at all. I literally finished this game in 2 days. Game economy is very broken. Don't buy this game unless it's for sale.

    The last time I played GT was on PS2 I think? I remember really enjoying it playing with friends. Since I was able to snag a PS5 I wanted to give it a try. I've been playing for about 5 hours and loving it so far. I was worried about needing to be online in order to play but I haven't had any issues yet.

A 1.5 metric ton car with 250hp should not spin at 80km/h on a dry track by giving it full throttle. Its just frustrating and i hope Polyphony Digital has just a bug in their grip model. (hopefully not as payable add on) the rain effects look laughable for a game of the next gen. The Graphics are also not very next gen. In Replay it looks good, but not while racing. So no real step up from GT sport. The game still has antialiasing! as a next gen game. So unfortunately many things are not next gen here so that also played into my decision to give this game only 2 points. But the “feel” of the racing for me is the biggest issue. A game should be fun and not only hard. Sorry PD, you have to give this game a major update first. Otherwise i could see myself enjoining this game a lot if these issues were not there.… Expand

They ruined car collecting by increasing the real world price of cars from a maximum of $3 to a potential maximum of $40. Clear that every decision they've taken post-launch has been about monetization. Even after they fix the marketplace there's a massive problem with a i and slipstreaming if you don't understand what I'm talkin about try a custom one lap race at the Daytona tri-oval you will get dropped very fast because a i starts off with slipstream for custom races and the user does not this is broken… Expand

You used to be able to play from Beginner League to Endurance. There's zero. Beginner League alone had over 50 races. How many races after the 39 level rails for the tutorial? Ten different race series with an average of three races each. Horrible. I've yet to bring up the fact that they cut race payouts in half so it took longer to farm cars. You used to be able to buy individual cars for between $1 and $5. Now the expensive cars are over 18 million credits. But you can buy 2 million credit packs for $20 each. That means the expensive cars are $180!!!! WTF is that about? They didn't include the credit store in the game until the day of release. That means all of the reviews had zero clue it would cost that much. **** of them and deceitful! Sad to say this is the end of an era for me. Paid $80 to have 1/4 the amount of content of other GT games. How the head of the studio keeps his job we have no clue. He went from a god to a money grabber to people overnight. Sad.… Expand

This game is so bad that I created a Metacritic account for the first time ever. Just so I could leave my thoughts on this garbage. The previous title, Gran Turismo Sport gave players better chance of buying them. It was difficult but still attainable.
    Micro-transactions are not forced on players, but are made heavily necessary to even purchase any of the Legend Cars that they advertised heavily. I did not expect that much reliance on micro-transactions considering that I have paid $70 for the game. Shame on me and shame on PD.     Gran turismo used to be a really nice game series. But in the meantime it has become only a disgrace and unbearable. You have to be always online to play now! And now pay to win has also been introduced! WHY?? If you don't have internet, the game is not playable! I don't want that!! IT'S A SHAME! NO, THANKS. I regret buying the game!

    It's a real shame this game released as it did. The graphics are great. That's really about it. The way the game is pushing real world money transactions is frustrating. It should be free to play if you are going to implement these tactics of greed.

    This is a pathetic attack on someone because he decided to play a different game? Now I don't know who this streamer is nor do I know the full details but to have a Director of GT7 chiming in degrading an individual on a public platform is a form of bullying. I play games to get away from the real world, not be crucified publicly. So if Kazonura can see this... here's a BIG FU from USA! I'm boycotting your broken ass greedy game and will never buy another copy unless you publicy apoligize to the streamer "Lifeisahighway79" , to the GT7 community and the Forza community.     By far the worst gt ever and I have played them all. Extremely time consuming for no reason an a lot of non fun time. The geme is punishing you for your chooses which actuality mekes it not a game. Some cars are very hard to drive without serious customisation which is not the same in real life. So it is not a car simulator either. Very disappointed.

    Gran Turismo 7 has a lot of good and plenty of great. The use of DualSense and the particularly well-tuned loading is exemplary, and there's a huge amount of work behind the game, with a lot of detail that's almost hard to believe at times. [Issue#318]

    Gran Turismo 7 brings to the tracks every single thing fans always wanted: the GT Mode everyone loves, plenty of customization options, car loads, classic scenarios and one of the best DualSense and 3D Audio experiences the PS5 has to offer. This is the best Gran Turismo experience we have ever seen in a long time.

    Gran Turismo 7 is a love letter to motorsport history and an impeccable technical showcase. The franchise's traditional formula gets good improvements, but it's still extremely true to its roots. One of the best racing series ever shines spectacularly on the PS5.
